Hotellet var bra, men de hadde drittstygg lampe på rommet!

Hotellet var under forventet, det var lekasjer rundt vinduet, som gjorde at det ble meget kaldt om kveldene, dusjen kunne ikke bare holdes på en temperatur, da den justerte seg opp å ned av seg selv, noe som var meget irriterende :P, det var meget lytt, når folk i overetasjen dusjet eller trakk i snoren på toalettet, hørtes det ut som hele taket skulle […] komme ned. Rent og rimelig nytt/nyoppusset rett ved togstasjonen. I gåavstand til hele Roma. Små men rene rom. Frokost er ok, men ikke utrolig, men kanskje vanlig for romas hotell.

Hotell Aphrodite var heilt fint å bu på. Rommet var i minste laget og senga ikkje av dei mjukaste, men det var ikkje noko problem. Rommet var lyst, reint og fint, nye håndklær m.v. kvar dag. Hotellet ligg rett over gata for Termini stasjon der du får kjøpt billettar til det meste. Metro + bussstasjon like utanfor Termini. Sparbutikk, apotek mv. rett […] over gata i Termini. Personalet var vennlege bortsett frå dama i frokostrommet, ho stressa rundt og var veldig kort på direkte spørsmål om noko. - Me ville truleg bestilt rom på same hotellet ved nytt besøk i Roma!! The hotel was clean and nice. The location was kinda shady, but close by the main trainsation and within walking distance to the Colosseum. The staff at the hotel however was rude and grumpy, and you were only allowed to use the wifi for 30 min a day, with no posibility of buying more time.

Meget sentralt hotel tvers over for termini. Fine rom, enkel frokost og midt i knutepunktet for Metro`n.

Lite og trangt, men pent. God standard på rom, fine bad. Frokostbuffet med helt ok utvalg. Noe lytt mellom rommene og gangen, og litt støy fra trafikken utenfor. Beliggenheten rett ved sentralstasjonen var ellers grei, ikke det hyggeligste området, men severdigheter og koselige steder var bare 10-20 min unna til fots. Kort til Colosseum. Over all forventning, små, behagelige rom, god standard, helt topp for ferie! Renslig og god service fra renholdere og ansatte! Very good quality hotel, just across Termini station, which is the connecting point for buses and metro.

My wife and I went to Rome for 4 nights mid March. Cost: Because it was just before easter; the cost was just right and it was the cheapest 4 star hotel in central Rome. Location: Across the road from Termini - couldnt ask for more. It was easy to get to from the airport (via train); we also started our day via the metro and returned by bus. good clean place to stay whle trveling. I was facing the street and next to the elevator and up the stairs from the entrance, so my room was noisy, but it was clean, and all good else ways.

The hotel is very very close to the Metro Central (Termini) from where you could take a train or a bus to all the major attractions in Rome with a Roma pass. The hotel itself is very neat and the rooms were well maintained and had Jetted Tub and a bathroom the size of a bedroom. The breakfast was amazing and had plenty of variety each day. I expected more from a 4star hotel. Overall it was ok, but there were some details which made my stay there not very pleasant. On the first day on fresh towels I found somebody's hair. The room wasnot very big, we had 2 suitcases and we had to be very careful trying to get to the bathroom. It was buffet and there was everything enough but the curly lady serving us was really weird. She was almost throwing cups, saucers, making enormous noise, shouting at guests :"No, signor, NO! It is not allowed to sit there!!" as if she used to work at the prison before and suddenly she found herself in Aphrodite hotel.Everybody tryed to finish breakfast as soon as possible. I remember in Florence the lady preparing the breakfast joyfully greeted everybody with "Buon giorno!" and it created some happy atmosphere. It was a torture for me to go to breakfast in Aphrodite. One day she put the pie but never cut it, did she expect us to nimble on it? If you have no othe choice, you can stay in this hotel, but I will recommend you to look for something else. Hotel Aphrodite was conveniently located to the Termini train station, which was one of the main reasons we selected it. Wi-fi access was free, but we often lost our connection. We had a triple and a double room and were a little bit skeptical after reading some -ve reviews. But it was really nice! Lovely bathroom, clean and room had enough space, and the aircon worked but smelt a little bit. Lady at reception suggested restaurants, travel passes etc. which really helped us! Breakfast is served at the top of the hotel so it's lovely and bright - food was normal continental, nothing special but kept us going for a good while. Location is a little seedy (loads of homeless people, pushy street vendors) but there was 5 of us so we were fine - there are nicer areas of Rome (Spanish steps, nr the Trevi) but not with the same transport connections. Overall, I doubt it's a 4* hotel but definitely nicer than your average 3* - location and the quality of staff was definitely 4*. Rome tip: Eating near attractions is expensive but around hotel - Roberto's on Via Cavour - restaurants are good! Hunt down fountains to top up water bottles, rather than buy water for 2euros. Roma pass is 25 euros and gives you free access to 2 attractions (excl. Vatican) so you skip queues - we used a tourist bus 20euros per day! but so easy to get around no crowded bus routes. Les mer

I hate to give this hotel a 3 rating when it really deserves a 5. In truth, Hotel Aphrodite is a real gem smack in the middle of one of the seediest neighborhoods in Rome, that is, right across the street from the Termini on Via Marsala. I only stayed one night because I was on my way to another city, but I was made very comfortable there. The air-conditioned […] room was larger than most I’ve stayed in. Although I was traveling as a single, they gave me a double, or "matrimoniale"—a nice wide bed (with a very firm mattress, but I slept very well on it), a flat-screen TV, free internet connection, and a lovely bathroom. There were also more than adequate closet space, a mini-bar, and a little welcome package of toiletries. (Instead of buying supplies from the mini-bar, you can save a lot of money by shopping in the “supermarket” on the sub-floor of the Termini. The staff was also very helpful and friendly; and they provided an absolutely wonderful breakfast buffet as well. Really, the only drawback is the horrible location. But if you’re traveling through Rome and don’t plan to spend more than a day or two there and don't feel like lugging your suitcases all over the city, the proximity to the railroad station might even be a plus. I believe this is considered a 4 star hotel - it isn't. It isn't all that clean and very mediocre. Location is good though - right across from Termini. Bathrooms are beyond small, how they squished the toilet in between the shower stall (equally small) and the wall. I was a bit nervous when I saw some of the negative reviews, despite them being very few. I loved my stay at Aphrodite - very cute and stylish, super convenient (termini station is across the street - you need to cross Termini station to go anywhere in Rome - it's two stops away from the Coliseum, and two stops away from the Spanish Steps), with several […] grocery stores and pharmacies nearby. Yes, the shower is super small - but that's Europe in general, and I was grateful that the shower head wasn't hand-held (which is standard is much of Europe). The bed was hard, but I wasn't there to sleep. The breakfast is a bit sparse, but again, it's standard and consistent with hotels I've stayed in across Europe. The neighbourhood appears a bit sketchy at first glance, but it's very safe and there are plenty of tourists milling around. There are also some good and cheap restaurants nearby, super convenient. If I ever have to return to Rome, I will definitely stay at Aphrodite again! Les mer

This was my third time in Rome and the worst experience by far. This hotel is terrible, once we arrived the bathroom was very dirty with hair all over the toilet seat and sink. The staff was rude and had "not my problem" kind of attitude. The rooms are way too small to have children in them and they don't have baby cots or highchairs. The breakfast […] was terrible and the first morning the bread had mold all over it and when I showed the attendant she merely threw one piece away and left the rest out for others to eat. They provide no toiletries, only a dispenser of soap on the wall (seriously?? and this hotel is 4 stars??) The area is not safe at all...every night that we returned back to the hotel there were drunk people fighting outside...Terrible terrible hotel. Avoid at all costs. Les mer

The hotel is one of the best in the neighbourhood and very convenient to the railway station although the area itself is a bit gritty. The room was quite small and breakfast variety limited. Very pleasant roof top terrace. Would recommend the hotel for anyone who wanted convenient location to the transport network.

The room was clean, comfortable and cool a delightful change from the heat of Rome. The staff was friendly and helpful, offering dining suggestions as well as assistance in calling a cab. Everything was nicely maintained and an amazingly reasonable cost for a hotel across the street from Termini. The location of this hotel was AWESOME! right in front of the train station. the hotel was really clean and really nice; We are defenitely going back when we visit Rome again. Breakfast was European style which it was what we expeceted and we were fine with it . overall it wad a great stay will do it again!

If you plan on seeing Rome and don't mind paying a little more than a hostel would cost, this is a good option. Next door there is a restaurant that serves good Italian food for reasonable prices. A layer of black mold was all over our window, we had to shower in a bath tub with a shower wand (not attached to a wall), and the breakfast was inedible. To make matters worse, the receptionist gave a key to our room to another guest. We were in our room when the guy tried to get in.

We bought a bus ticket from the Ciampino airport and imagine my surprise when it dropped us off right in front of our hotel. Hotel Aphrodite is conveniently located right next to the city center, Termini station. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. It's an easy acces to the bus stops, on the opposite side of the station, […] and a metro stop as well. The continental breakfast was excellent, there are choices for even the pickiest eater. The hotel also offers a variety of information on walking and bus tours. They will reserve a spot for you, and arrange transportation. We stayed here for 4 nights during the Easter break in 2011...I read a lot of reviews and was a little unsure about the neighbourhood but found it pretty safe.... Like any other railway station in any big city there is a bit of riff raff crowd hanging outside, but they dont bother you..plus its such a busy place so you dont feel scared at all even late […] nights..Its bang outside Termini so you are in the centre of town with access to all forms of transport , and a lot of sights are within walking distance. The staff was very courteous and unlike other hotels you don pay for leaving luggage after an early checkout. The breakfast is standard on all days, but its pretty good. A very good location to be. Just bang opposite t Termini station. Lots of restaurants near by too. Despite being in a crowded place, we had no noise in the room (probably because we got a room in the rear side). The lady at the front desk was very helpful and kind. I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel . The staff were very helpful and even let us check in early . We were expecting a small room but were more than impressed with the proporations of the room and also the Bathroom was a good size too . We stayed in room 416 and everything was new and clean and the climate in the room was perfect […] . I did not need to use WIFI on the trip but there was an internet cafe next door so no need to be lugging a laptop on your short city break ! Some people might find the breakfast a bit basic but for what we wanted it was more than adequate. For the price we paid we were very happy with this hotel. We were worried about being next to the street, and while there was noise that could be heard through the windows during the day, it was mostly quiet at night. The breakfast was very good compared to other continental breakfasts we have had in the past. Plus the breakfast room was very nice with […] a patio to be used during the summer. Our room was simple but nice, and the bathroom seemed new.This hotel was far better than others we were looking at in the price range. Plus the location across the street from the train station could not be beat. Almost all the buses in the city, plus the metros go to Termini train station so seeing this city is a breeze. This hotel has its pluses and minuses. It was in a great location, right in front of the central terminal. Makes it easy to catch the metro, train, or grab your rental car. The first 2 nights the staff was very friendly. When we came back, the staff was different, not so friendly, and even asked for a deposit for the TV remote in exact change only. It almost seemed like a different hotel the second time around. The room was OK. Seemed rather new, bathroom is a bit cramped. You will bump into the shower stall walls quite a bit, and if you are a larger person, its possible you won't even fit in the shower stall. That small. We were in a room that faced the train station, so it seemed rather loud. But somehow that didn't bother me at night as I managed to get to sleep no problem. Breakfast was acceptable. Nice, clean, shower and a bed hotel. Friendly staff, cheap price across from the train station. Neighborhood was a bit gritty but my companion and I never felt threatened and we were sharing the street with many other bucget conscious travellers as well. I remembered to put my wallet in my front pocket of my jeans, BUT I suspect that when getting off the train in Rome, we went through a jumble of people and that is where I think my passport was pulled from my jacket pocket. The best part about staying here was the convenience to Termini station, the shuttle bus from the airport stopped right across the road from our hotel. The area around the station is a little sleazy but it's not a very long walk to lots of lovely areas.

This hotel is fine with some qualifications. If it's all about convenience and location relative to the main train/bus/metro station in Rome, consider this or another Termini-centric hotel. I literally walked across two lanes of narrow road to get to the station - inside are restaurants, shopping, and two grocery stores. Nearby is an open market. The […] Leonardo Express from Fiumicino airport also leaves twice an hour from this station. You can buy the Roma pass at a ticket window inside Termini and get 3 days unlimited bus/metro use (Leonardo excluded) plus admission to two museums or sites for free with discounts for all the others. Another plus is the staff does all speak English and the rates were decent. Had a double bed and a mini-fridge I could put my food in. Downsides: neighborhood is not one I'd frequent alone at night but it's definitely on the better avenue of the two long sides of Termini. Shower is literally 26" x 26" pillar with a plexi enclosure (not soft curtains) so it's a challenge to do things like shave legs or even turn around. I found it easiest to take a "Navy shower" meaning turn off the water after rinsing shampoo, while soaping body, after rinsing body, during shaving, etc... Good side is that I was not in the forward deployed desert or on a ship where it's mandatory to take the Navy shower. :) Les mer

Right outside station,great for travel by train. Modern,clean comfy rooms.. small by Us standards but this is Rome and great value. Staff v.nice and helpful..Wifi did not work but cheap internet cafe next door. Breakfast was the best we had in a 3 week trip of Italy. Thoroughly Reccomend

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Hotel Aphrodite in September 2010. The hotel was in an ideal location, very close to Termini station which is a great place to stay for public transport to give easy access to all the tourist / historic sites all over Rome. This was my 2nd time at this hotel and everything was as expected.The hotel staff was very courtious and knowledgable. They arranged for a tour of Rome and recommended good restaurants nearby. The proximaty to the Termini train station is Ideal. I will definately use this Hotel again and recommend it to others.
