Best location to see Rome, esp. if your interested in St. Peter's. The staff speak english and are very helpful. One hour internet for 3 euro.

I was pleasently surprised by the size of the single room, it was much larger than I expected. It also had a little fridge for food and the breakfat was great!

This hotel is full of history. It was built in the 16th Century as a papal residence then became a monestary up until 1950 when it became a hotel. A great hotel with a lot of history. Air conditioning is controlled by the hotel during the winter and rooms were way to wam for our comfort. Love the hotel. Highly recommended.

We Had no problems at all. Most of the staff speaks either English or Spanish. I would reccomend this Hotel.

Great place to stay. Very conveniently located...it is less than a block from St. Peter's Square. The room was very nice -- plenty of hot water. Very clean. Very helpful front desk. Make sure to check out the bars down the street next to the Tiber River. Great evening event.

A 2 star not 4 hotel, dirty, unhelpful staff, poor breakfast, always had to ask for things. Room not cleaned until 4.30pm and then not well. Filthy carpet, huge stains. An air con unit with the pipe going out the window! take it off your list.

The Columbus is perfect situated for St Peters, being barely a 2 minute walk to the Basilica. Check in was fine, and the room comfortable if a little jaded in decor. In many ways it was like staying in a museum, and the building's heritage as an ex-monastery is clear. Facilities are adequate, although it was disappointing to have to pay for WiFi access. […] Breakfast was fine, and included in the room price, but we did not eat in the restaurant as it was too expensive (although the menu looked delicious). Biggest disappointment was the wheezy air conditioning which could not really cope, and was only fixed in one room out of two after a request to Reception. Plenty of small trattorias in the vicinity so eating out does not mean a 10 mile camel hike. Overall we were very pleased. The location is great, the hotel nice and quiet, and good value for money. Don't expect luxury, but do expect to come away content. Les mer

Excellent location to the Vatican and if you don't mind a scenic walk across the Tiber, one can get to the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain. Has clean rooms and by European standards, a large bathroom. Front desk polite and helpful. Wiil rebook at the hotel if we return to Rome.

Rome is really spread out, so it is difficult to have a "perfect location" but this hotel was in a great spot, especially if you are interested in St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican. However, the rooms are old with poor air conditioning.

The hotel was literally down the street from St. Peters (2 minute walk). The parking area is inside the Hotel; completely safe. I recommend to anyone traveling via car, especially military families. The bus stop is about two blocks away, which is great if you want to leave your car at the hotel and see Rome using the bus. The staff was very friendly […] and helpful. The elevator is very small and can fit about 4 slim persons, but don't worry because the bellhop will take your bags up for you when you check-in. Les mer

I rented two rooms, one room for two adults & the other for three adults. The room with three adults had no shower with a hose to use as a shower.

We checked in late and the staff was very accomodating and helpfull. We were a short walk from Vatican City and our vehicle was in a secure parking lot in the courtyard of the hotel. The location of this hotel is great.

The location of the hotel was great. Vatican is in walking distance and buses right across the street. Most of the hotel staff were rude and not willing to assist us more then they had to. Room had air conditioning, but all other areas did not. It was miserably hot the days we were there. But be prepared for less-than-US comforts. A standing AC unit in our room did not function well, and we had to rely on open windows (screenless) which netted us mosquito bites. The shower is in the middle of the room, with just a curtain, so your bathroom remains wet much of the time. The breakfast is excellent, although you fight pigeons and sparrows […] to eat in peace. This hotel was great, walking distance to St. Peter square and in front of tour buses. Everything was great considering this hotel was a monastery. The rooms are huge. This only thing was the beds are twin size beds, I had three beds and one pull out sofa in my room, great for families. The bathroom shower was part the the bathroom literally. You could […] brush your teeth and shower standing in the same place...was pretty cool, never had seen anything like it before. If you are with disable visitors it would be kind of hard to get around, there are steps everywhere you go, you can arrive by elevator to your floor but still have to climb steps or go down steps to get to your room. Location, location, location. If you want to be real close to the Vatican this is a good hotel. Not the most comfortable, with a tiny shower, but great location. Brush up on basic Italian, the old guy speaks little English.

Great location and old world charm. It was only a short walk to the vatican. I knew from previous reviews that the room was small and the bed was not up to American standards but I was only there for one night. Shower was small but had hot water. With breakfast included it was great for the price since food is expensive it Rome.

We were extemely pleased with the proximity of the hotel to the Vatican City. It was also across the street from the tour bus stop, so everything was so convenient. The staff was courteous and the breakfast was more than adequate. We would go there again.

Great location. Very charming hotel, offers a different type of experience. Not the generic type of hotel trap. Loads of history and very comfortable atmosphere. Staff was awesome. Extremely helpful and very nice and attentive.

The hotel is located just down the street from St. Peter's and the Vatican which is a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast, while the food wasn't terriby exciting, was lovely because you can sit in the garden while dining.

We wanted a hotel that was close to The Vatican. If this was any closer we would be sleeping in St. Peters Piazza. The room was above average for European standards. The breakfast was good with a very nice room. The exterior of the building is run down and could use paint and some updating. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel.

Hotel Columbus is truly the best deal we've encountered. Because we were just staying one night and come to Rome often, we were looking for something inexpensive, but in a good location. Hotel Columbus exceeded our expectations on every level. Right next to the Vatican, a beautiful garden ristorante and bar, frescoed ceilings in the breakfast room and […] a very comfortable room. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Das ist beim schönen, historischen Speisesaal positiv, beim schnuffigen Ziimmer, in dem wir gewohnt haben, negativ gemeint. Auf keinen Fall sollte man im Hotel frühstücken (Schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis).

Hotelli on todella tunnelmallinen ja historiallisuudellaan vaikuttava. Huone (standard double) oli kuitenkin pieni, samoin sänky sekä mm. tv ja ilmanvaihto eivät pelanneet. Vierailumme sattui maaliskuulle, joten kuumuus ei sen vuoksi haitannut. Kesällä tosin huoneissa on varmasti tukalaa. Sijainniltaan hotelli on hyvä, suoraan Paavin naapurissa. Alue […] iltaisin on täysin kuollut, joten illalliselle ja yöelämään kannattaa lähteä joen toiselle puolelle. Suosittelisin kuitenkin Hotel Columbusta, sillä kokemukseni perusteella hotellin ongelmat ovat samanlaisia kuin muissakin italialaisissa hotelleissa. Les mer

Boa localização , ao lado do Vaticano , consegui estacionar o veículo na garagem ( importante na Italia) ficou eu mulher e dois filhos quarto muito confortavel.

O minimo que se espera de um hotel desse preço e nessa localização é que os recepcionistas sejam mais gentis e no minimo falem mais que o idioma local.

Hotel Columbus, Rom er et dejligt og interessant hotel med god og venlig service. Fin rengøring, god størrelse på værelse og badeværelse. Inventaret lidt slidt, men især er belysningsforholdene på værelset(lamper o.l.) dårlig. Også dårligt, at man skal betale for internetadgang. Henrik

Esta super bien ubicado a metros de la basílica de San Pedro y justo al frente de los buses turísticos para recorrer Roma. La atención en la recepción fue muy buena.
