Vi giftet oss i Roma på den dagen vi nå kom ned for 15 år siden, og bodde på Hotell Farnese den gangen. Når vi nå skulle gjennoppleve dette ville vi bo sentralt i Roma. Hotell St. Angelo ble valget, og det er vi veldig godt fornøyd med, her var vi sentralt plassert, og med lett tilkomst til alle severdigheter og bydeler. Imidlertid er avstanden fra […] bussstasjonen i Roma og til Hotellet slik at man må ha TAXI. Noe vi aldri før har opplevd er en HAPPY HOUR der vi ikke fikk betale for det vi ville ha. Hotellet ringte hver kveld opp på rommet og ba oss ned i frokostsalen til denne happeningen. Vi er veldig godt fornøyd med dette oppholdet, og kan trygt anbefale hotellet til andre, her har du det meget bra! PS. Frokostbuffeten var alldeles prima. Les mer

Hotellet ligger i et rolig strøk i gangavstand til alle de mest kjente severdigheter. Bortsett fra at det var kaldt vann i dusjen den ene ettermiddagen og tørre rundstykker til frokost en av dagen, var vi fornøyde med oppholdet. Det var rent og pent på rommet og betjeningen var hyggelige.

Vi hadde et fint opphold i Roma hvor hotellet var et utmerket utgangspunkt for alt vi ønsket å se. Hyggelig og svært hjelpsomt personale i resepsjonen og vi fikk gode anbefalinger om lokale spisesteder.

Dette var skuffende! Vi hadde rom i et bygg litt ned i gaten for selve hotellet. Skikkelig luguber bygning! Strømmen sviktet første kvelden og det tok mange timers argumentering med resepsjonisten å få de til å skjønne at de faktisk måtte fikse det! AC på rommene virket akkurat likt med eller uten strøm... altså helt elendig! Tror vi hadde minst 35 […] grader på rommet! Men rent var det, det skal de ha! Mulig rommene i selve hotellbygget er bedre, men disse i det eksterne bygget vil jeg fraråde. Og servicen var ikke noe å skryte av den heller!!! TIPS: Finn et annet hotell!!!! Les mer

Rigtig fint lille hotel tæt på alt der er værd at se. Man kan gå til centrum på 10 minutter, og er generelt tæt på alle sights. Vores (tomands) rum var ret småt, men ellers ok. Pænt og rent og med et lille tv og aircondition. Tv og wifi følger med i prisen. Badet var også småt men ellers pænt og fint. Det der overraskede os mest var morgenmaden der […] var over al forventning. Der var bredt udvalg af pålæg, youghurt, cereal, frugt, wienerbrød, kage, juice, kaffe, the og sikkert flere ting jeg har glemt. Morgenmaden var rigtig god. Alt i alt vil jeg anbefale hotellet til dem der skal opleve denne fantastiske by. Det ligger centralt, er pænt og rent, og er perfekt til bare at skulle sove på og ellers være i byen hele dagen. Enkelt men veldig behagelig hotell. Pene rom, god størrelse, pent bad men igjen, veldig enkelt. Ikke kjøleskap/minibar, glass, vinåpner etc men det var ikke på rommet vi hadde tenkt til å oppholde oss så det gjorde fint lite. Beliggenheten er fantastisk! Bruker 5-10min til spansketrappen, 10min til Vatikanet, under 10min til Piazza Navona. Rolig gate […] i hyggelig strøk. Les mer

The hotel is not located where Hotels.com led me to believe, nor does it have the views shown in the pictures on Hotels.com's website. Hotel room was not in the main building, it was two blocks away. One of the rooms wasn't cleaned and still had items from the previous tenant in the shower. Very loud at night due to the local people gathering outside […] and parting until 5am. Could not sleep. We booked 4 hotels through hotels.com for a two week vacation in Italy. This was the most expensive. The hotel Sant' Angelo was the pitts. It was misrepresented on the web site and by no means was a 3.7 rating. First of all the room was so small that when my wife went to the bathroom she would hit my feet when I was in bed. Next was the bathroom, It […] was a closet. The shower stall had mold in it and the shower curtain would not close due to a make shift curtin rod. There was only one(1) suitcase stand with no where to put a second suitcase. I also read something on the desk that was left out by mistake and it showed hostil prices. This hotel should be removed from hotels.com listings. When I complained at the desk I was told they were full and no other rooms were availble for my stay. It should have no star rating. The location is great - away from the touristiest areas yet within a 10 minute walk. Surrounding area is very pretty and fun to discover. We requested a quiet room off the courtyard but were given one right above the street. We had to press the manager to exchange after one night, because the rooms have paper-thin walls and you can hear everything happening […] in the next room (everything!) Also you can hear everyone doing their business in the bathroom (everything!). After we insisted we were given another room which was quieter but still not great. The wi-fi signal in the hotel is very weak, we could not use any of our devices. Most egregious is the breakfast. I have traveled in Italy for years and this is the worst breakfast I've ever encountered - old cold cuts, fake/cheap pastries and absolutely the worst coffee in all of Italy. It tasted like mud. I tried requesting espresso and cappuccino, but it did not get better. Just awful! I will stay in this area again but not in this hotel! Les mer

Hotel was clean and the room fine and only a ten-minute walk from St Peter's. This hotel is very well situated, we didn't even need a bus to get to most sights.The best bit was it was full of character and the staff were really helpful and friendly and helped us with maps and tips on places to visit and eat etc.The breakfasts were also excellent value and had a good selection of meat, cheeses , fruit, tasty Italian cakes etc […] . This is the first hotel that I had to go to one location to get the room key and go to another location down the block for my room. I didn't believe the other reviews about the elevators lol They are tiny!!!! Only two people at a time, if you are on the heavy side, I only recommend one. This hotel is located in an apartment complex and the people living […] there are terribly rude. The room was really nice. Comfortable. Perfect location. For the price, I guess I can't complain. The hotel is in a good location and the staff are willing to help out. The bathroom is small which is much like all washrooms in Rome, but the shower is really tiny. A good clean hotel with free wi-fi and a nice place to come hom to after a day of sight seeing.

We chose this hotel based on past reviews and its central location to the sights we wanted to see. Boy, were we blown away! Service: we did order room service. However the staff was more than welcome to provide us recommendations and directions to local attractions. Many of them were bilingual. Cleanliness/condition: the room was as expected. Clean, […] with no signs of wear or worn out items. The rooms have universal plugs compatible with US plugs without adapters (don't forget, it's still 220 volts). Our only gripe was that on one night the hot water didn't work. They fixed it within an hour, though. Food: we elected to pre-purchase breakfast with our reservation. Impressed would be an understatement! Two staff members tended to a room of eight tables (16 seats). All the foods were freshly prepared, including the bread. Plus, by the second day, they had our coffee preferences memorized. By the way, they fresh-made each cappuccino or latte. No cheap, automated machine for this hotel! Overall: excellent experience! My husband and I spent 7 nights at Hotel Sant Angelo and had the most wonderful time. The staff were superb, the room always fresh and clean when we returned from sight seeing, and the breakfast more than we expected for European standards. Although there was no power when we arrived and the staff offered to transfer us to another hotel, we wouldn't […] hear of it. They took us to our room via candlelight. Very romantic. Great location, but the hotel is in a big building with the doors at each floor always open. It was freezing cold and the heat is kept off in the communal areas the entire time. Would recommend only in the summer if you are looking for a cheap accommodation in a central area of the city.

The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful. Every night they had free wine and light snacks for their guests and some of the staff circulated and spoke with the guests. The buffet breakfast was the best I've had with eggs, selection of meats, cheeses, fresh fruits and pastries. The only complaint I would have is the shower is extremely small...about […] 2' X2', which I guess isn't that unusual for Europe as some of the other hotels we stayed in were that way. I give this hotel a 3 because of the good location. It would be a 2 otherwise. The staff was very helpful, and were fluent in english. The location is good, close to bus stops but walking distance to all of the sights. The neighborhood was quiet at night. The elevator is small, as most i saw in italy, and we were on the 3rd floor which got tiring after a full day of walking.

This was a disappointing experience having just been pampered on a cruise and choosing to spend 1 more night in Rome and being greeted by a very long line at check in and people yelling at the overwhelmed hotel clerk. People were unhappy with different aspects of their rooms. Our room was nice, but there was no hot water and the toilet made sounds as […] it filled all night. Hotel is truly situated near main attractions. It took 15-20 minutes to get to Vatican, as well as sights across the river. Colisseum was our 'furthest' sight, and we took the metro (1.50 euros one way). The hotel room was clean...the issues we had were 1) the leaking tub that would make a puddle after each shower, 2) the lack of hot water on most occasions […] (probably best to shower 6-8am to get any hot water) and 3)the constant sound of water in the wall pipes...made it hard to fall asleep...We didn't have breakfast at hotel so can't comment on that. If we were to do it again, we'd stay by Termini station now that we know food there is cheaper and that the sights are all within walking or metro distance. Les mer

We were very happy with our stay at the Hotel Sant'Angelo and would definitely stay again! This was our first trip to Rome and the hotel's great location provided easy walks to all of the sites we wanted to see. Our room was clean and had lovely crisp white bed linens. We had a double bed, which was actually two twins pushed together but was FAR bigger […] than I would have imagined. Great breakfast, happy hour glass of wine and very friendly front desk staff made our stay lovely. And the entrance to the building is beautiful, you feel like you are staying in a museum!! Room was tidy; furniture a bit scuffed up. What really got us though, was that the room was in a building down the block from where the reception was. And neither building had a visible, obvious entrance. The room building required going through an outer door, up stairs, then another keyed door (shared building), and then into the room. This hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. It is in a great neighborhood with great restaurants and cafes away from the tourists areas. The nearest metro is about 10-15 minutes away on the Red Line (Lepanto Stop). The hotel staff was absolutely fantastic. For Rome, this room was very clean and spacious. We would stay here again.

Great for a city centre hotel. We were looking for a decent place with a good price and location - and we got it. Yes - the bathroom is small - but clean. Room made up beautifully every day, air con that was sorely needed! The courtesy tray was a bonus but a little depleted - but we only had to ask for extra and we had it. Not one for spending a lot on breakfast - the cost of 7.50 is well worth it - given the prices in Rome!! (Recently in a hotel in France the breakfast cost 14.50 - we brought our own in!). Hotel was nice and clean, bathroom was so small you could hardly turn around. Check in was 2pm according to my reservation, however when I got there they said it was free. Breakfast was good, but 7.30 was a bit late if you have an early start.

The location was good and we loved the hotel decor, enourmous wooden doors and huge staircase. We stayed in the annex which is only about 10 doors down. kids loved the lift, i refused to go in it! The room was of a good size and very clean. The down side was that the air conditioning was not working (wonder if it ever does) and it was 36c at 10pm, the […] noise outside was too loud to sleep with the windows open (it is the middle of Rome, so it is to be expected) and too hot to sleep with the windows closed. plus we had somehow managed to book 4 of us in a room and the hotel's biggest rooms have 3 beds (1 twin and a single). 2 long nights! The staff is simply wonderful. There is no language barrier. The hotel is extremely difficult to locate in it's little alley, but most are situated as such. Initially, we arrived late via cab and were taken to the "annex" portion of the hotel. We booked the hotel instead of a hostel in order to have air conditioning. There was no air in this room which […] had to be 100 degrees with the window open. We spoke with the reservation clerk the next day and we immediately placed in the "hotel" portion with a very quaint room: mini-fridge, working AC, but a bathroom smaller than a cruise ship. Our linens and bedding were clean and fresh...no need for bedbug spray. Do NOT expect a hotel comparable to the USA...this is more of a clean dorm room. There are no amenities: no ice machines, no vending dispensers, no in-room coffee makers. We did have a mini-fridge and there was a computer in the hallway. We were here for 6 nights and though minimal in regards to US expectations, we were close to everything with wonderful restaurants nearby. Expect to walk plenty of steps, and there is no insulation regarding noise...forget your previous stay at the Marriott...this again, is more of a dorm room type situation. The breakfast offered each am by the reservation desk is wonderful, and the staff are welcoming and pleasant. The food is fresh, plentiful, and regardless of culture, accommodating to all.
