Was close to the airport and had alot of places to eat all around and close to eureka

shower curtain rod actually works in this room but the holes from the old one could've been filled Why not?

rms need repairs,lots of cig smoke an pot smoking obviously allowed in rms ,smelt every day in main hall and lobby. gd points close to stores n fast fd

What do you expect for this price? For what we're paying, this hotel really isn't too bad. It's much better than the Motel 6 next door! They have a continental breakfast which is ok. After trying other places, I'll continue to do to this one.

Good location, but poor maintenance. Room smelled of mold/mildew. Upstairs noise is clearly audible in first floor rooms

The room was an excellent deal. Perfect for a budget getaway! The room was very clean. I was worried about smoke smell (have experienced that before) but I was very pleasantly surprised that there was no smoke or pet smell.

Compteitive rates, just didn't feel clean, kind of had that pet feeling. Nice if you have a pet.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After showing up to a crackhead looking alley (no crackheads were seen on the premises) where the front door is, i was greeted by a rude gentleman that was barely speaking english. When we got to our room after tripping over the carpet that was just laying loose down the hallway we found the blankets […] and comforters that were on the beds were covered in burn holes. My girlfriend walked into the bathroom and started yelling because the wall by the towels was covered in splattered blood, yes BLOOD. The shower rod was one of those rounded curtain rods to give more room in the shower that was only held in by one screw on either side so the curtain was just hanging in the middle. After bringing all this to the desk clerks attention he said well you have already paid, sorry. We stay in quite a few hotels and are usually on a budget, and this was by far and away the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. Les mer

Stayed here at the last minute. Should have known what to expect from a 2* hotel. Price was pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for--hard bed, flat pillow. Refrigerator in our room made a horrible noise; had to unplug it to sleep at night. One night was enough; moved to a different hotel for the 2nd night.

The hotel is an elongated triangle with virtually ONE entrance at the end. The only parking was in the rear. Once inside the motel there were rooms on the north and south sides of a centralized hall which smelled of cigarette smoke. Upon entering the room, it too had a faint odor of cigarette smoke. Any reason that you would think of would be one of the 8 reasons not to stay at this specific location. It totally sucked. I booked 8 different nites on trip, and this was BY FAR the very worst.

the hotel is way to noisey,can hear people in hallway at all times of the night,hard to sleep,bed is way to hard,soften them up,will try day's inn next week,parking in the back with a lot of riff raff hanging out in back,don't feel safe with wife or kids,you wanted to hear the truth follow it!....Geoff

The room was dirty, Coffe pot did not work. There was no guide for what natwork was on each channel - so you had to cahnnel surf to try an figure it out. No screens on windows. Furniture was broken. Hallway carpet badly stained.

The reviews on this motel were abysmal but the price could not be beat. My room was spotless, with new frig, paint, carpets..but then there was the funny smell many wrote about. When I mentioned the smell to the clerk she brushed it away as new carpets...In a few hours time I had a headache and generally felt ill. Very dissatisfied with the service I recieved. Requested a non-smoking room since I was traveling with my 4-month baby. Made the reservation weeks ahead of time. After traveling 6 hours, we arrived at the hotel and all they had to offer was a smoking room that smelled horrible. We spent 1 night in this hotel. First we came in the room, it smelled really bad. The second part was the WiFi access, which wasn't working!!! It was an important thing for us, because we have to book every night the next accomodation. I phoned to the reception, but she wasn't really competent. To start with, when I made my reservation, I made it very clear, in fact, several times during the conversation, I mentioned that my son and I would be arriving around 3:30-4:00 a.m. on Monday and did I need to pay for 2 nights or 1 if I was checking out on Tuesday. I got to the hotel and the person working did not see my reservation and they were booked. I was furious, especially considering how many times I stated what time we would arrive, which for sure was 3:45 a.m., right when I said it would be. The night person working said he would have to run a night report to clear Sunday's business and then maybe he could help us out, but he had no non-smoking rooms, another specific request I made when I made the reservation with www.hotels.com So, exhausted, my son (who was there to go to college orientation at Humboldt State) and I waited in the car for another 15 minutes while this guy ran a night report. He then let us in and gave us a smoking room. When we got to our room, it of course smelled very bad and on top of it had no working air conditioner, so it was hot, smelly and barely provided enough comfort for us to rest a few hours. In the morning, I complained to Amanda who turned out to be the only reason I didn't give this hotel a 1. Amanda was great, had a great personality and moved me in to a non-smoking room when I got back from taking my son to H.S.U. that morning. That room smelled better, had a working air conditioner and a screen on the window (which the smoking room did not). Their "free breakfast" should not be called breakfast as they have two choices of cereal, both stale, packaged rolls and two kinds of juice and that's it. I rented this room because it was the cheapest rate available in the area at the time. It was clean, but has not been renovated in a while. The only room showing great wear & tear was the bathroom. Overall I am pleased with the stay as it accomplished it's job; a safe clean environment for my family and I to sleep in while we were on vacation. When I arrived at Super 8 I was told to pay a $50 deposit which I was unaware of previously. I asked about it and the attendant rudely responded, explaining to me what a deposit is, treating me like an idiot. I got to the room and was disgusted to find a pubic hair on one of the bed pillows. The sink faucet had water that came out violently with barely […] an inch of space for your hands as the sink itself blocked that area. I would not recommend this hotel-- you are better off spending more money on a cleaner, friendlier one. Les mer

decent place to stay if you need a place to sleep. Not close to many activities/restaurants/nightlife.

The gal at the front desk was great, but everything else was not so great. The hallway leading to our room stunk and our room smelled even worse. We were told there wasn't anything that could be done about the smell. The bedspread stunk like B.O. and stale cigarettes even though it was a non-smoking room. honestly, I got a killer rate on this hotel. I was only staying a few days and didn't care for anything fancy. This is definitely not a fancy hotel by any stretch of the imagination. I was put into a smoking room despite booking non smoking. After seeing the room we decided it really wasn't worth the bother of getting a non smoking room. The toilet […] backed up halfway through our stay and the hot water was scarce depending on the timing of our showers. The hallway had an odor I could not place but hey, in the end, it was a super cheap hotel at probably half the price of any surrounding hotels so I'm not complaining. Les mer

Easy access to Freeway. Desk personal were pleasant. Rooms were clean. My friend's room had a microwave but his TV did not have a functioning hand clicker. It was taped together in the back so he had to get up to change channels. My room did not have a microwave. The shower leaked water and there was no way to take a bath as the plug was absent. This hotel was filthy. The doors to the outside were broken. The janitor cleaned out the cigarette can by the back door by dumping it on the walkway in front of the door. Our key cards to our room stopped working 3 times. Breakfast was scarce to none. The interior was dingy. The staff acted bored beyond words and did not want to help. One front desk […] person did not ever know HOW to make room keys. He had to go ask someone else how to do it! The only good things I can say is that the heat worked, there were adequate towels, and it was centrally located near Humboldt State. I will NEVER stay there again. Please note, I always stay at cheap hotels, and this is the FIRST negative review I have ever given. It takes a lot for me to hate a hotel as much as I hate this one! Les mer

The hotel is tucked inbetween other hotels and is faced away from the road. There is fast food places all around it and a grocery store across the road. We liked the room, it was a little noisey from foot traffic but all in all it was a nice place to stay. Breakfast was cold cereal and muffins. Nothing fancy. It looked like someone had punched the ceiling in the bathroom shower.

room was simple and clean, as expected. It was much quieter than expected. There were many students in residence but no disturbance. The staff was friendly. We did not sample the breakfast or use any other hotel amenities.

Easy check in, room was clean and quiet, close to shoping, food and gas and right off of the 101, breakfast was fine, I'll stay again next time I'm in Arcata, it's a good Motel for the price.

We booked this room for the price because we were going to be arriving late and leaving early. When we got to the hotel, we went into our room to find the fridge not working (a MUST on our stay as we have a baby that needs refridgerated milk). We went and asked for a new room, which they did give us....but only to find out the fridge in that room was […] also not working. On our third room, the fridge finally worked. The customer service was good as they did help us with our concerns, but overall, I wouldn't stay there again. Not clean enough for me! Les mer

This hotel would be okay to stay in if arriving late at night and leaving the next morning. Continental breakfast was minimal to none, very sugary. Screens didn't fit the windows, carpet was damp throughout the room - no explanation given when complaint made, hotel needs updating, no closet, bathroom was very small, bathroom door wouldn't stay open […] and door out of room had to be pulled shut. I wont stay here again. Have stayed in other hotels on the same street with much better service. Les mer

The outside was dirty, the room felt dirty, carpet was dirty. Would not recommend this motel to any one & I question if I will ever return to any Super 8. I've stayed in Motel 6 before & it was much cleaner.

I would have much rather stayed anywhere else than this hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 3 night stay. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. There was no excessive noise like I experienced on another visit to a motel in the area. At least the walls were fairly soundproofed! I did not partake of the continental breakfast. The locks were functioning great as opposed to an experience at another motel in the  […] area. Les mer

Bathroom small and in poor state of repair. Rooms very small. Breakfast meager and not well stocked. No decafe coffee.

This motel was ok, nothing special and nothing too terrible. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked the fridge and microwave in the room. The hotel was right accross a grocery store, a dollar store, gas station, and restaurants. So the location was very convenient. Our family was on a budget so we were happy about the rate considering the location. The […] con was that the back door of the motel was left open and any maniac could come in. That was the only thing that made me feel uneasy. I hope that the management changes this for the security of their clients. Les mer

A fine hotel for an overnight stay. Contintental Breakfast room was so small and in the lobby that we decided to eat at the McDonalds next door- but front desk service was very helpful.
