Quality Inn Monterey Beach Dunes - Marina

It was fine for the price. Comfortable, clean; we stayed on the ocean side of the hotel and it was very quiet. If this weren't the Monterey peninsula, it would be over-priced. Given the vacation destination cachet of Monterey and Carmel, it's reasonable.

Super easy access from freeway and right across the street from the beach. Good restaurants nearby. Nothing fancy, but close enough to Monterey and great price. Friendly staff. Rooms are kind of old, but who spends time in the room when you are in Monterey?

this hotel is close to everything! the beach, my grandkids, small downtown, Monteray Aqurium, so much! I had so much fun seeing my grand children and couldn't believe how close everything was. I plan to take my husband the next time and maybe he can so swome fishing when the weather was better. I would deffinately go back and hope they would let my […] dog come with me. Les mer

Rooms are decent, comfortable beds, average size bathroom area. They keep the heating/cooling off when not occupied so the room is quite chilly when you enter, and it is a wall unit so it takes awhile to circulate the whole room. Breakfast was good! Waffle machine, yogurt, fruit, cereal, a variety of juices and hot beverages, and a very helpful person […] on staff if you needed anything. The location is great if you're prone to getting lost, right off the freeway. And it looked quite close to the beach, but it was pouring in the morning and we didn't try walking. We also didn't explore the area but just across the freeway it looked like a fun area to explore. The only problem we had was in checking in, even though the attendant on duty got my name correct she apparently pulled up someone else's reservation and then was confused when my cc# didn't match. It took about 15-20 min to get checked in, which I think is a bit much and we were pretty tired, but she seemed new and her manager was walking through everything via phone. Les mer

Old, clean as it could have been for a old type of hotel. Right by the beach and Hwy for easy access, a little far from Moneterey though.

The reviews I had read are accurate; old, shabby, clean, great service, satisfying breakfast. 2 minutes away from a Starbucks and basic fast food. We got a fantastic rate. The hotel met or surpassed my expectations. It is one super quick block to an incredible beach and 12 simple minutes to Monterey (Aquarium and Wharf). Rooms clean, slightly worn. Breakfast room very small, limited. Front Desk very nice. Great location

This hotel was comfortable wouldnt say quiet coz you can still hear the cars passing by The main road but not bad the suite we got was just perfect to room in 4 adults that had two separate doors so youre getting a 2 in 1 room so much cheaper than getting 2 rooms. Hotel ground is very dirty, garbage, cigarett butts every where. Garbage containers never empty while I stayed for 8 days. Front desk staffs are most unkind. I used to live in Marina and wanted to support the City I owned property and was very disappointed. I will never recommend this place.

We were placed RIGHT next to the breakfast "room" so we recieved an unwelcoming wake-up at 6:00 am with people talking in front of our hotel room window. We were not told we were going to be right next to the breakfast room. It was very annoying.

I know I got a great deal on the room, but the room was so small, my girlfriend and I kept bumping into each other. And we're both thin people. Every single thing else was great!

This hotel is similiar to the Best Western next door - except they shrunk the entire room!! Bed and bath rooms were both tight, I can't recall a smaller room in all my travels on 4 continents. You can move around, but if I was staying longer than the 1 night, the walls would move in quickly - not a room to share with others!! The location IS great, […] a short walk to the beach, a short drive to some amenities without going into Monterey itself. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. The front desk was great. They did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast in the morning was nice. Good variety. My daughter thought the beds to be very comfortable. We were coming back to the Presidio and she wanted to stay outside of town. It was very convenient. Overall it was a very nice  […] stay. Les mer

Hotel is old and tired. Weekend was sold out due to huge event at Laguna Seca. Hotel did not properly staff Continental Breakfast (Front Desk clerk had to replenish coffee, yogurt, milk, etc.) By Monday they were out of many of the breakfast items. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. It was great for a modest, affordable, one-night stay for our group's nearby kayaking. Close drive to Monterey and Carmel. The hottub is HUGE! A very nice end to a long day of driving!

This motel is in very poor upkeep... i guess its too much to ask to pay $15 an hour for a full time maintenance person.

The rooms themselves seemed to be clean though small for the accommodations (two double beds) with all the basics (except the towels were very rough and the hot and cold water was switched). The continental breakfast was a big disappointment as mid way through they were out of a lot of items (coffee, juice, yogurt, pastries) and we had to go get someone […] to replenish it. For the size of the motel, the room for the continental breakfast was too small. And under the stairwell the trash can was so full there was a large bag of overflow trash sitting there which was very unappealing. Les mer

Very clean hotel. A bit out of the way from Monterey or Carmel. Great restaurant and bar across the street but closes early. Only complaint is the beds are old and hard.

I thought this to be a good value. You can walk to the beach, very close if you walk through another hotel's property. The hotel is very convenient to the highway - a plus or a minus? Our room with one queen bed was quite small. The continental breakfast was not good.

Nice motel. In the right place at the righ time. The free continental breakfast is a big bonus.

bed was terrible, pillows were very small so we had to ask for more, bath tub was clogged up, we had to ask for a TV remote, lots of stairs and no elevator, price was way out of line for the size and quality of the motel. Go down the street to the Motel 6.

For what the hotel is, I thought it was overpriced. As others have said, the bed was pretty hard and room service never came to make the bed. At $••• a night, I think the least they can do is make the bed. The breakfast was good with a good selection of items. I was in Monterey for Car Week. According to Hotels.com, the city was nearly sold out. Just […] driving around the surrounding area I found lots of hotel/motels with vacancies not listed with them. I think if you spent a minimal amount of time in your room it might be ok. It's not comfortable, no place to sit, no table (small desk against the wall), water runs in the toilet full time ( yes it was reported), TV was terrible, cable with lines and ghost. With all that and that $astronomical figure/night, I guess that's what we've come to expect these […] days, no I would never go back even though the clerks were just fine. Les mer

More then 45 minutes to have the keys' only one lady, with no feeling at all for a customer The breakfast room is really a joke with a 3 meters by 2 meters breakfast room for a 120 rooms Crazy place in the middle of nowhere, with no restaurant after 9 pm

This hotel holds itself to the lowest possible standard. Only stay here if you really can't afford anywhere nicer.

This hotel is a short walk away from the beach :) But the hotel is run down, small rooms, very uncomfortable beds, and could hear every noise from the people upstairs. OK for just a night/ somewhere to crash. The resort accross the street was a lot of fun, resturant was very good, yummy appitizers, salads and drinks 15 min drive to Monterey.

Hotel was awful. Nothing as described. Dirty, old, smelly, loud. Only redeeming quality was their ability to offer a refund for my second night. Bed and chair were greasy and old, walls so thin I could hear everything that was going on. "breakfast nook" was two shabby bedrooms with the inbetween wall removed. Two stars is far to many.

The room is pretty small , and since mine was looking out to the parking lot and on the freeway side quite noisy . Aside from that it was clean and the employees were nice and helpful .

Hotel did not have a working heater, coffee pot or hair dryer. When we asked for one, they said too bad. They couldn't give us a room discount for our lack of service. They said we had to take it up with whomever we booked motel through.

This was possibly the worst place I have stayed in my life. It was noisey, the bed was bad, the sheets were just sort of thrown over the mattress pad that was too small to cover the whole bed. We had to wait for 1 hour when we checked in as they were still cleaning rooms at 4:30pm. It was way overpriced for the quality. But I guess if you want to go […] to the beach, it was close. Les mer

Nice hotel in a great location. It was a very busy weekend and I only saw one gal at the front desk all 3 days morning and night. She was good but she could have definitely used some help to reduce the wait times for service.
