Pent hotell med sentral beliggenhet. Kort vei til Union Square og San Franciscos berømte trikk. Romslig og godt utstyrt treningsrom. Dyr frokost; vi anbefaler i stedet å prøve Taylor Street Coffee Shop (orginalt, billig og meget gode pannekaker med frukt). Området trekkes litt ned pga. mange innpåslitne uteliggere.

Vi fikk et rom i 5. etg mot bakgården, så vi hadde ingen problemer med bråk, selv om vi bodde midt i sentrum. Betjeningen er hyggelige, men ikke så kontaktsøkende. Noe som er like greit. Fint med heis. Rommet vi hadde var ganske trangt, men vi hadde et walk-in-closet med plass til kofferter og et stort bad. Renslig og myggnetting på vinduene. Godt hotell til en billig penge, kommer nok til å bo her igjen om jeg skal tilbake.

Hotellet var helt greit å bo på. Vi var der desverre ikke mer en, en natt. Kunne lett brukt det hotellet igjen. Koselig med vinsmaking i hotell`s lobby mellom 17-18. 7-10 min gange fra Hard Rock Cafe på Pier 39.

Staff was extremely friendly and professional from the very start! I was lost driving into town at night and the wonderful man at the front desk stayed on the phone with me to safely guide me to the hotel! Clean and comfortable and a short walking distance to China Town, the Wharf and the Trolley was a block away! The parking was free but fitting in to the very small spaces is a chore. The room was ok didnt like the water stains on the ceiling in several spots (it just looked bad). It served it's purpose one overnight stay.

Do not expect a five star hotel when you book the Castle Inn; that said, we were quite pleased with everything about our 3 night stay. Though the Castle Inn is not a new property, the managers, Marshal and Arlene, do a great job with their staff in keeping the rooms in good condition. The biggest issue was it was very noisy. The people were very nice and helpful. We were taking our son to UCSF for surgery and the location was great.

For the price we were happy with our stay at the Castle Inn. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The free covered parking is a real value - some places charge $10, $20 or even $30 for parking so make sure you take that into account when comparing rates. "Great Stay! Wish we could have stayed longer!"
The staff were great! The beds super comfortable and it was within walking distance of most of all we wanted to do! The breakfast is not much to write home about, but there are lot of really nice resteraunts close by. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and would recommend it you are going to SF.

We made a reservation and there was 3 of us so we needed 2 beds. The site we booked thru faxed that we wanted a king size so the made accommodations so we had what we needed! Some of the nicest people I have ever dealt with! Would stay there again anytime! They definatley have great customer service skills and that's a plus!:)

The hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to Lombard street, Pier 39 and Ghiradelli square. If you aren't much of a walker, the trolly car stops just one block from the hotel. I would recommend a City Pass if you are staying for several days, it gives you unlimited trolley/cable/bus rides for your entire stay. "Fantastic central location"
Castle Inn was within walking distance to obtain public transport pass, close to some restaurants, and 50 m to bus stop. You need to be able to access public transport in San Francisco. Breakfast was basic, free car parking was a bonus.

I have been going to The Castle as a getaway for over 20 yrs. Great location in a fantastically cosmopolitan neighborhood with every ethnic food you can imagine eating within footsteps of your room. Oh, and did I mention your choice of Starbucks or Pete"s coffee just seconds away? Bus routes bisecting the area gives you mass transit access to anywhere […] in the city; Chinatown, North Beach, cable cars, Fisherman's Wharf, SOMA. Very clean and comfortable beds! Free parking and within a good little walk to the Wharf. The hotel looks a little shady from the outside, but it is actually very nice!

I stay at many 2 star hotels, as I prefer economy over "extras". I had a non-smoking room. When I walked into the halls of either floor, the scent of cigarettes permeates every inch. I could not rid my room of the smell. The front desk took 15 minutes to greet me upon checkin. The window's lock and the toilet were broken. The edges of the carpet were […] filthy. We mean it, this is the BEST location you can stay if you visit SF for holidays. I was staying while my Mom was at CA Pacific Medical Center, about 9 blocks away. I thought the motel was a good value, and the free parking is great for S.F. The continental breakfast wasn't much (yoghurt, packaged muffins, cereal bars, cereal) but there were coffeemakers in the rooms and they gave me extra coffee. "Great hotel!"
The best thing about Castle Inn is its customer service. The receptionist was very helpful, polite, and understanding. Check in time is 3pm, but we arrived at noon and she let us into our room. We were traveling with a 7 months old baby and she needed a diaper change (solid diaper). Being able to wash her, change her into fresh clothes and nurse her […] made a huge difference to all of us. She was a happier baby and that made the rest of our day a lot better. The receptionist also had a map of the city available to us at no request and even suggested places to go site seeing and to eat. There are lots of good restaurants reasonably priced near by. At check out time (noon) they let us keep our car there until almost 5pm, which was very nice of them. Parking in the city is not easy to find and it can cost you $20 dollars or more. The hotel is very nice, clean, and comfortable with a very good location. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to go to such as, Chinatown, Northbeach, museums and even Fisherman's Wharf (which turned out to be a long walk, but a pleasant one). We have stayed there again since then and plan to stay there every time we go to San Francisco. I have recommended to friends and have booked it for family. Castle Inn has become our hotel in the city. Les mer

Was very similar to a Travelodge. Room was large with a fridge. Breakfast was yogurt, nutragrain bars, packaged muffins, fruit and oatmeal. The clerks were very helpful with directions and recommendations. Location was great, could walk to the wharf or union square. Downside was no computer access. There was also free parking, but we didn't have a car […] with us, so that didn't make much of a difference to us. I was expecting a little more for the price we paid, but I guess for a large city prices are inflated some. Overall I would stay there again if I found a good price. Les mer

Most part good experience. Walls are a little thin for loud neighbors, but not so overwhelming you cant sleep or think. I had a quiet 2 nights and on 3rd night very happy & loud laughing neighbors checked in. For the price it was perfect. Free parking, Free Wifi (connection went down a couple times but it's free) fridge, microwave. It still has a 50's […] 60's motif- green sheets and all.
