I spent a week here with my son for a National competition and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. It was a 5 -10 minute walk to the Oregon Convention Center, restaurants, grocery store, mall, Walgreens, and to the MAX (a cheap transportation service to the airport, or any other attractions you wanted to see). I was able to load up my suitcase […] with groceries from the store and store them conveniently in the nice size refrigerator that was in my room next to the microwave. It made the week more affordable along with the wonderful breakfast that was included every morning. The breakfast was really good. My son loved the blueberry waffles he made every morning and I enjoyed the biscuits and sausage gravy. It was delicious and the cook made sure everything was well stocked and cleaned constantly. He was very good at his job! The front desk staff was also very helpful in helping you find where you needed to go or even give you suggestions on places to see. If I ever had to come back to Portland, OR again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Les mer

The Quality Inn in Portland, OR. was nice. The employees were great and helpful, the breakfast was good and hot, close to my seminar and the mall so I could walk, plenty of restaurants nearby, locked doors to the rooms which made me feel more secure. The only bad thing was the hallway smelled.

I stayed in a King non-smoking room and was extremely pleased with the comfort of the bed and cleanliness of the room. My parents stayed across the hall, and you could definitely tell that their room had not always been a non-smoking room, so perhaps another deep cleaning on that side of the building is warranted, but it was not overwhelmingly unpleasant. […] The location is extremely convenient to Downtown Portland and the convention center, and for the price of the room, we were very pleased with the overall experience. This motel is only 3 blocks from the Rose Garden arena-straight down Multnomah Street. There are several restaurants within walking distance, like Red Robin, Denny's and Wendy's. The king bed was truly like sleeping on a cloud...we liked it even better than our own bed and that has never happened before! The room was clean and stocked with everything […] we needed. No fan in the bathroom. Water in the shower switched from hot/cold/hot/cold and shower head couldn't be adjusted so it just blasted my face. Elevator reeked of pickles and rooms need upgrading but over-all ok for the price. Great location and free parking was a bonus.

Bed linen and towels were clean which was great, but the bathroom was old and the door didn't close. Very conveniently located with restaurants and a huge mall close by.

Very convenient for the conference centre (2 mins walk away). Free breakfasts, free wifi, free printing, very comfortable beds, what more can you want

I would never recommend this place to anyone! Rooms are horrible. .. found my 3 yr old baby playing with a condom wrapper! Told front desk and they didn't care! Also had drunk old ladies so taking off there clothes in front of my 8 yr old son!!

This is pretty low end (fmr La Quinta) where the walls are paper thin, the heater didn't work well (but it's only so cold in Portland at night), and the neighborhood is mediocre... but the bed, bathroom, etc. was nice, the room was clean, and the locality to the conference center was unbeatable. Rooms were big and clean. Breakfast and pool were nice amenities. Front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. Easy access to metro and downtown. Neighborhood had a lot of easy dining options. Great homemade fresh noodles at Frank's Noddles!

The check in was a disaster..they were not helpful and were very unpleasant (which is rare in Portland, most people were so great!) The rooms stunk, the bathroom smelled like mold and urine. The sheets seemed to be clean. The heater is filthy. The carpets,well lets just say I didn't go barefoot. Not too loud for a cheap hotel, but over all less than […] enjoyable stay. The location is great. It used to be part of the free transportation zone of Portland but there is no free zone anymore. It takes 10 min to get to DT by tram and ~25 walking. I've been staying there for a couple of years now and is pretty convenient, rooms are very clean, they offer free parking and breakfast. I stayed at this location for 3 nights, the room is adequate for the price of 60 to 80 dollars , ideal location next to shopping mall , convention center, and the rose garden. , your also next to the Max train for those without cars, and the Max train can take you downtown in minutes or anywhere in the city. your also next to 3 famous diners and this […] location had a great breakfast spread. a Cute Attendent check me in so no quams there, good for the price nice and clean without any hiccups. actually 1 the spread sheets on the bed could be a little softer. This hotel used to have better rates a couple of years ago but it's still a good option if you want to stay really close to downtown and have parking/breakfast included. Room is clean but bed mattress is pretty soft so keep that in mind if you like to sleep on a firm mattress like I do. This was out third time at this hotel and we were surprised to […] find out that there's no more free fare zone in Portland since Dec 2012 which means that now you'll have to pay $5 a day for a transit pass. We chose this hotel because it seemed to have a good location for what we needed. It's in the Lloyd District of Portland, which was a great area just outside of the city center. When we went to our room it was freezing! Our heater was broken. We called down to the front desk and they said they would be up to look at it, "In a minute." After 30 minutes […] in our ice cold room we tried calling down again and no one answered. We had to go down and get someone to come up and they ended up moving us to another room. The hotel was in bad shape. The bathroom was terrible. No bathtub, just a super outdated shower unit that you have no room to move. The furniture and bedding makes it seem renovated, but the walls and carpet are old. The bed was comfortable & probably the only plus. The hallways were AWFUL. Paint coming off the dirty walls. There was also a 2 inch gap under our door that always allowed light to stream in from the hall. There was NO insulation. We could hear everything out in the halls, including every single door that slammed. When we ran out of toilet paper I called down to ask someone to bring us more and they told me no one could bring it up, I would have to come get it. The breakfast was NOT good! Everyone seemed to rave that the breakfast was amazing; it was terrible. In a small, hot room, with some old muffins and hard boiled eggs. Not worth all the hype. We got the breakfast the first day and went out every day after. I wouldn't stay here again. Les mer

For the price, it worked for me I could hear my neighbors showers in the morning.. Sounded like a leaf blower outside my door and the I've machine was very close by, I heard that at all hours of the night as well. Wifi wasn't excellent however it worked well enough for most things I needed it for. I didnt deal with any of the employees of the hotel […] other than just checking in and out... So for me, customer service wasn't an issue Room was pretty clean as far as I could tell. Location was good! Streets weren't very loud at night. That was nice Les mer

Best price hotel for what you get. Its rated as a two star hotel but the rooms are really clean and that's all I care about. If you car what the out side of the hotel looks like then you might not like it as much. The MAX is right down the street, very convenient!

We enjoyed our short stay. It's a short walk to the Rose Garden Arena, no problem to and from the Arena. The office help at the hotel was very accomidating and polite and there is no charge for parking. Would stay there again. We had a great meal at the Red Robin which is just accross the street where they have good Clam Chowder!

The hotel is within walking distance of the Rose Arena to watch the basketball game, a short walk to Lloyd center with movie theaters and shopping, AND you can easily walk downtown or to places like the museum. Everything was good. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Except one guy. Out microwave wasn't working. It was about 1230am. We called the front desk and he made us feel like it was our problem. He said something along the lines of not being trained to do maintenance on anything. He seemed very rude when we suggested to be let in to another room […] to use the microwave. I loved how close it is to everything - downtown Portland and every fast food place you could ever think of, including a Denny's and Red Robin across the street. The beds were the highlight - so delightfully pillow-topped, we slept in both mornings because it was so hard to get out of these beds! Location near the convention center was fantastic. There were reasonable places to eat within walking distance. Access to freeways was also convenient. Neighborhood felt safe. The breakfast was better than the usual dry muffins and coffee, but not as good as other hotels with sausage and eggs. Parking was included and we did not have to pay extra. The […] hotel, however is very, very dated. You can tell that they have tried to make rennovations but it is merely a band-aid. The rennovations were poorly done and it compromised the rating that I am giving this hotel. We asked to be moved to a different room for the 2nd night we were staying due to a high volume of noise from a high school wrestling conference that was in town. The second room we stayed in smelled like it had previously been a smoking room. It looks like they had rennovated in there but had not changed out the carpeting which was harboring cigarette smells from years gone by. If I had to attend an event at the convention center again I would stay here again based on price, but I would definitely check out other options in the same area...or stay further away and pay for parking at the CC. Convenient location. Minutes to the tram. Easy to find (even with all the one way streets!) but be sure to still have a map for the exit off the highway. Staff was very friendly and helpful with the surrounding area and public transport. They offered free underground parking which was great since we planned most outings by foot/bus so we left our car […] there all weekend. Rooms were basic but clean. Big awesome comfy bed! "Large" mini fridge to store water and snacks. Clean bathroom with full tub. Decent continental breakfast in the morning of waffles, muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast and beverages. Although it ended kind of early for us late sleepers! Overall, no complaints for the price! (well there is a slight musty smell, but its an older building...) Definitely would stay again! Les mer

We really felt that Quality had the highest value for a group interested in access to the Convention Center (or downtown, since the Max is just a block away!). We were within 10 minutes of easy walking of the Convention Center and far enough away from the Max that we had hardly any noise pollution. Free breakfast with a great variety, free parking (1 […] car/room), pool, small exercise facility, close to a variety of restaurants... we were so impressed with how convenient this hotel was. Didn't expect much of this place, but it was clean (if a little run-down), staff were friendly and efficient, and the in-room facilities were more than sufficient for an overnight stay. The king bed mattress was excellent for a hotel of this class. Make sure you ask for a quiet room, and you'll be fine here.
