Location is superb for the city centre. We went to a gig at the University which was a fair walk but ok in dry weather - got a bus back, plenty of them. The apartment was great, good layout, plenty of room, nice furnishings, very comfy bed & quiet. From the bedroom we could see a busy road but we couldn't hear the traffic. The staff we met at reception […] & the bar were lovely, very helpful, polite & cheerful - no sour faces which we have come across at other city centre stays. We would definitely stay here again. There;s no more to say for me and my friends we had a wonderfull time in manchester and most of all we had a very relaxing time in the hotel.

I was there on business but it was pleasant to be able to prepare and eat my evening meal in the apartment instead of having to venture into the cold weather to find a restaurant. The hotel and staff were welcoming and the room was well laid out and comfortable.

Excellent location, near Piccadilly Station, and the city center where all the shopping is. Staff were very helpful and the cleaning staff were very friendly too... I wish that TV in the bedroom had some channels, though it was not something big. One thing I didnt like was that the living room had windows to the center of the hotel, and the blinds were […] not that of a cover. A bit of privacy is neeeded. Les mer

Great place to stay in Manchester.....its basically a four star hotel with the usual 24 hour reception, bar, gym, restaurant, nightclub, but each room is a fully kitted out apartment including bedroom, dining area, kitchen (with dish washer, fridge, oven/hob, microwave, etc), bathroom, and lounge area. Booked it through hotels.com and it proved to be […] slightly cheaper than any other hotels in the area! The only thing to be aware of is that a breakfast wasn't included, although it is available as a per person charge at the hotel restaurant. We'll definitely stay there again. Les mer

best hotel i've ever been to. was upgraded to a double-bedroom apartment without extra-charging. fully equipped kitchen and stylish apartment in general. looks like a house, not a hotel room. next to picadilly station.

Location: 3 minutes walk from Piccadilly Train Station and 6/7 minutes walk to the centre of Manchester. Service: Very Good and Friendly. I had emailed in advance requesting some extra information and received a very quick and detailed response. Room: Very nice sized apartment, full kitchen with utensils, dishwasher, full sized fridge with a small […] carton of REAL milk provided. However, though the rooms were spacious they were a bit dated. Bathroom had some black marks around the bath area. Dining: Layout of dining room was cool. Black table clothes and cool chairs. Excellent location and comfortable rooms. Well equipped for self-catering but quality of fittings poor and not well maintained (knobs falling off wardrobe door, some lamps not working, etc). Staff receptive to hearing about these issues though.

Always stay here when in Newcastle. It's a bit old and worn, like many English hotels, but the rooms are clean and comfy, free wireless, and the location in Newcastle city center, right next to the rail station is perfect!

the hotel wants to charge for many extras and then blams hotels.com i dont work like this people should be upfront and tell you from the start instead of trying to misslead you.

Was in a different room from the previous week. The main differences was that there was no bath and the a little cramped. You couldn't open the bathroom door very wide because of the bedside cupboard. There were a few items missing from the kitchen but were quickly replaced when I pointed them out. It is an excellent hotel comfortable apartments, free wireless, friendly staff. Was my first time but not the last the only small disadvantage of this hotel is the check out time which is at 11.00 instead of 12.00 which is at most hotels.

The apartment was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Very modern and chic interior, very well maintained. Had all the utensils you could possibly need for cooking, cleaning. Even had dishwasher and washing machine tablets and washing up liquid. Provided tea, coffee and sugar. With its location being right next to the Manchester Piccaddilly train […] station, it was perfect for getting anywhere really . This hotel looked good & was in a great location,not far from the the airport. The reception was smart, well maintained & the staff very professional, helpful & friendly. The apartment seemed really good but there were a few things that weren't so great. The bin ( concealed within work unit) hadnt been emptied & were full of rubbish from the previous […] tenant although a call to reception rectify it immediately. There were a few other flaws- the WC base was not secured to the floor & cables for the TV & CD player were exposed- not great if you had kids. Other than that it is a lovely place & very comfortable ( especially the beds) & it has a flat screen wall mounted Tv in the bedroom, a very good shower with wonderfully clean/fluffy towels.The room literature says they can provide toiletries if required ( not sure if there is a charge for this) We arrived mid evening after a 12hr flight (+ 2hr delay) & were exhausted - just wanted to shower & sleep & this place was perfect-the issues with the room were not relevant enough to bother notifying reception although Im sure they would have done something if we have contacted them. Would certainly stay again- the few issues mentioned are the only reason I didnt mark it as a 5/5 Les mer

Just returned from an overnight stay at this fabulous hotel after our son and daughter in laws wedding reception in the hotels function room. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have done more to make sure everything went to plan. The function room itself was amazing so many guests said it was a perfect venue for such an occasion. All members […] of staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. The food served was excellent and very well presented. The evening went very well too, there was plenty of room for our guests (we had around 150) and the bar staff coped well with serving our drinks. After everyone had left we were able to have a drink in the hotel bar which was very comfortable before going up to our room which was one of the best hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, it was so big featuring a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and an ample sized bedroom. After a good nights sleep we went down for a full English breakfast in the buffet restaurant and again the food was excellent. All in all I'm so glad The Place Hotel was chosen for our celebrations and would recommend anyone planning a similar event to give this PLACE serious consideration. Les mer

An excellent place to stay for easy access to city centre. Good facilities in interesting building.

While the apartments in this hotel appear nice at first glance, the hotel does not pay attention to detail in making sure everything your room is up to standard. We arrived in our room to discover the sink's drain in the bathroom was completely plugged up, thus making all the running water just fill up in the sink bowl. We had to brush our teeth and […] wash up in the kitchen sink. We alerted management to this and they said they could not fix it until the next day. Then, my girlfriend had the unlucky experience of getting food poisoning that night. She was up the entire night vomiting in the bathroom, and had no sink to use since it was clogged. Since she was so ill, she wanted to stay in the hotel, a bit past check out, the next morning until our train departure. The hotel made no accommodation for us at all. They charged us 10 pounds an hour to stay in the room, and gave no concession for the clogged up sink. Overall, a bad experience. I will never stay here again. Les mer

First class with super staff and welcoming feel , obviously well managed.

Great location and the price i paid cannot be beaten ( it was cheaper than travelling home late at night from Manchester after a works do) but I would be loathe to pay more! There were cleanliness issues eg toothpaste marks in the sink and the beginnings of mould in the shower, plus the whole place was clearly furnished on the cheap and reminded me […] of a student flat. Very big room n very suitable for 2 couples or whole family. Facilities like microwave oven r unexpected.

My favorite hotel. Great appartments, very friendly and professional staff, relaxed atmosphere. And nice food.

The hotel is very good. The reception staff were excelent and for some reason i was upgraded - which was fab The only downside was the pressure of water in the bathrooms which was not as good as you would want other than that excellent place to stay , good central location, really easy for Picadilly Station I would stay there again !

Checked in just after 3, had only booked a one room apt, we were told that the room wasn't ready, but would be upgraded at no charge, we ended up with a 2 bed penthouse, which was fantastic, plenty of room for the 2 of us, unfortunately, we were only there for one night as we had gone for the Christmas markets, only complaint would be that they leave […] a very small carton of milk in the fridge !! We arrived in Manchester early and the place was only 5 minutes from Piccadily station, check in was at 3pm so reception looked after our bags until we returned. It was only a 5 minute walk to piccadilly gardens/ arndale shopping centre. We returned to the place just before 3pm and our room still wasn't ready so we waited around for 10 minutes whilst […] it was prepared. The ground floor reception had a nice bar and restaurant and the reception staff were friendly. Our apartment was on the 5th floor, the one bed apartment was very spacious, lounge, kitchen, diner, bedroom and bathroom. There was a tv in both the lounge and bedroom. The kitchen had all appliances you could need so it was easy to cook a meal if you wanted to. Apartment cleaned daily and linen/towels changed I would say the only downside and this is my personal view was that it was a big spacious apartment yet the shower cubicle was quite small and didn't really fit in with the rest of the apartment. Even though it was freezing outside, there was no need to put any heaters on as the apartment was already warm. There was very little noise eminating from other apartments or outside so we got 3 good nights sleep. Would I stay there again, definately !!! Les mer

Great location for City Center attractions - and right by the train station, very convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food in the 'garden' bistro was good value for money. The atrium gives a realistic outdoor feel ... Very close to the train station and city centre shops, within walking distance of MEN arena - great location.

Disappointed with this hotel It is more like a 3 Star hotel - Poorly maintained - mould in shower - broken shelf unit in bathroom - cheap worn scratched poorly fitted wooden floor boards (more than just wear & tear) - kitchen not cleaned. We were 3 girls that stayed in a two bedroom apartment for a weekend. Manchester is not that big so it was nice to walk to all the shops, bars/clubs and restaurants. We are very happy with the hotel and if we ever come back to Manchester we will stay there. It is just 100 meters away from the trains station!

We enjoyed this hotel very much. I took a friend and we stayed in a gorgeous two bedroom apartment with amazing city views that we could enjoy comfortably from the window seats in our room- a lovely touch. Everything about the rooms, and the hotel, was so comfortable, and accommodating. I would most certainly visit again if I was to stay in Manchester. An excellent hotel in a great location with very spacious rooms. Slight issue was the rooms were quite hot and no a/c - it got to 25 degrees in our baby's room until we opened all the windows and kept the doors open. I stayed here for a 3 night business trip. It was home from home, much nicer to have a sofa to sit on rather than an uncomfotable hotel room chair. Very spacious, open plan "loft" living. If you like chintz and lots of soft furnishings you will feel out of place.

Great location, liteally 2minutes walk from piccadily train station. Upon arrival, nice lobby area with very helpful and friendly staff. The courtyard area was lovely, getting into our room we were pleased with the vast facilites provided, iron/ironboard, washine machine/tumble drier, hairdrier etc and even a dishwasher! However the quality of the fixtures […] and some of the facilities were not up to 4* standards. The bathroom was basic, could of done with a refurb, and the shower head was one of the worst ive seen/used, not much water pressure atal! I was exepcting a nice power shower but was left very disappointed with that. The bedroom was a tight squeeze with a not very comfortable bed but the decor was lovely, very rustic feel however again a very cheap office like carpet. Overall we were pleased with our stay but if we hadnt of got such a good deal when booking we would have certainly complained as it wasnt upto 4* standards atal. Les mer

First time I stayed in an ApartHotel and it was excellent. All the facilities of a hotel (gym, bar) but you have your own Apartment. Perfect when travelling alone. Excellent value for money, friendly staff, close to the station. I even got upgraded. Definately recommend.

We rented a room for one night at this hotel based on the Frommer's travel guide recommendations. That book couldn't have been more wrong. The room was dirty, the plumbing was noisy, the kitchen counters needed to be wiped down and the complimentary items (like coffee, tea, sugar, cream, etc.) were all gone/used except one packet of sugar. The "rooms" are full apartments in a renovated factory or warehouse right behind the Piccadilly Station in downtown Manchester. Everything was spotless and it was wonderful to relax on the sofa watching TV in the evening and then having snacks (or a full dinner) prepared in the full kitchen, eating at the dining room table. It was short walk to the central bus and tram terminal and easy to get anywhere in the city. i took the train to and from the MAN airport less than 5 minutes from the hotel. Les mer

I liked the place very much.it was in the heart of the city center,the apartment was very big. I found the bath room not being cleaned, and on repeated complain about the exhaust not working in the bathroom.It was not fixed. Customer service needs improvement. Over all I will stay there again.
