"The Red Lion Downtown Boise"
Walking in the lobby was nice but the clerks didn't know what they were doing. Then out of the 2 clerks 1 left leaving other clerk with 4 people in line. So it took forever to check in. The doors to the rooms were rather old with a lot of wear and tear. But surprisingly enough the rooms were very nice. Beds were super comfy as were the pillows. The […] shower head could be replaced. Also the walls were paper thin so trying to sleep was hard. Then the view of a strip club wasn't really what I wanted to look at constantly. Les mer

"Glen from Idaho"
This hotel has comfortable rooms and good restaraunt and bar. Convenient to downtown. Overall good service. Hotel needs some refurbishing.

"Not bad, pet friendly"
Not a bad place to stay. Room was clean. No breakfast however, they had a breakfast buffet, $5 if you stayed there. We didn't try it, went to a much better breakfast spot downtown (Goldy's). We stayed here because its the only decent hotel that allows pets. There wasn't a surcharge for pets, but then again we didn't tell people at the front desk. I enjoyed my stay at the Red Lion Downtowner. The beds were especially comfortable. Room was very nice and clean. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again!

"OMMM TIME TO UPDATE YOUR HOTEL"
IF YOU WANT TO WALK AS FAR AS POSSIBLE TO DOWNTOWN, AND WANT TO RE LIVE THE 90'S THEN STAY HERE. I WAS DISGUSTED WITH THE TV BEING ABOUT 15 YEARS OLD, THE AC WAS WEAK AND THE FRIDGE WAS LOUD. IF YOU WANT A HORRIBLE NIGHTS SLEEP STAY HERE

hotel stay was fair for our trip needs. didn't have much time to actually spend in the room or hotel facilities itself. i couldn't quite get the climate right in the room, but it was a hot weekend. my wife had breakfast there and said that it was really good. there was an odd odor in the hallway, don't know if was the cleaning materials used or residual […] smoke. the lobby was very spacious, clean and quiet, which i appreciate and the staff was helpful and courteous. the hotel itself was a bit tricky to get to because it is surrounded by one-way streets. wish we had more time to explore the downtown area. "Not a happy customer"
The room we stayed in was very dirty. I understand that the bedspreads are probably never clean but to see the stains just staring back at you all over the thing is disgusting. The staff was extremely hostile when we asked for a change. I've never been to a hotel where the front desk personnel was more rude. "Red Lion Hotel Boise Downtown"
This was the 1st time I had ever staying at a Red Lion Hotel. I was very impressed with the room and hotel accomidations and the price very reasonable. In the future when booking a hotel I will definetely look at Red Lion Hotels.

"Good Overall"
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was easy to get to. Room was comfortable. Was nice to have a lounge/bar area. We would stay there again.
The bathtub had hair shavings and blood on the surface from the someone when we checked in. We attempted to wash the material away and the bathtub wouldn't drain. They moved us to another room after attempting to unclog the drain. The beds are only doubles and not queens. We won't be staying at this hotel in the future.
good breakfast buffet for price. Affordable. We will be back.

"Red Lion - Convinient location, but needs updates"
I didn't know they allow pets in this hotel, it kind of smelled like dogs in the lobby. On the way to our room, there was a leak in the hallway ceiling with a garbage can half full of dripping water. That was kind of gross. The bathroom has been updated, but that's about it as far as updates go. The beds were comfortable, which is very important. They […] didn't have any "buy movies" program on their TV which we typically like to use in the evenings. Location was great, close to everything we needed. "Recommend!"
Staff were pleasant and efficient. Room was clean, well appointed and uncluttered yet had everything that we needed and more! Only down side was breakfast wasn't included. Even so, price was OK at less than 5.

The Red Lion Hotel is a very nice hotel in downtown Boise. It has a huge lobby, and a very nice sports bar. The Hotel is located right next to a Strip Club so I wasn't real excited about that... but others may be. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again in the future.

"Reasonable Downtown Option"
This hotel is a very reasonable downtown option, close to the heart of the city of Boise and close to freeway access and close to Bogus Basin access for recreation. The affordability and convenience is what attracted us to this hotel.

The Red Lion Downtowner was great for wthat we paid for. It's an old building and needs renovation. Rooms are clean and service was good. Location and rate were great.

We liked the location of being close to downtown. The restaurant food was excellent and a nice variety of menu items. The in-hotel bar was also a real plus. The bed was excellent and the room was quiet even with the presence of a small convention and wedding reception being hosted in the main part of the building. Our stay at the Red Lion in Boise was very short - we arrived after midnight and checked out the next morning - but we found the hotel to be in very good condition and the room had nicer-than-average furnishings. "Great Hotel in a Great Location"
The Red Lion Hotel is in walking distance of downtown Boise and Boise State University. In the two nights/days I spent in Boise, I never used my car. The hotel also has an excellent breakfast buffet for a very reasonable price, a nice sports bar and excellent, large clean rooms with lots of amenities.

This hotel is tired. We are used to hotel rooms with safes, or at least a hotel safe behind the reception desk. This hotel had neither. The furniture is very dated, 10-15 years old. It was evident that the hotel & restaurant were understaffed and the overworked employees demonstrated their frustration by the sullenness.

I was thrilled. When I arrived they even upgraded my room to a balcony. I was treated very well during my stay and will consider booking with them again when I travel to Boise, Idaho again.

"Reasonable Downtown Option"
We were happy to see a hotel reasonable priced in the downtown area. It was great to our cycling option to the near Bogus Basin Rd. We also were not too far from the Julia Davis Park which we attended Art in the Park the next day. We had a great stay and hope to return. The staff was friendly and helpful too.
"Good Place to Stay. Not Customer Friendly"
The room was fine although very pricey. The problem I had with them is their shuttle service. They catered to flight crews of airlines and if you had a time to go somewhere as just a regular customer, and it conflicted with picking up flight crews, then you are out of luck!!!
"Power outage caught everyone off guard"
I was a little disappointed that the hotel did not have a backup generator for their own computers, the lobby, or the parking lot. It turned out that the Red Lion was one of the few hotels on that side of town that was even affected. I left my room and wandered around town and saw that most places were still opened and operating as usual. "Good Stay"
The Red Lion was a nice place to stay. I was a bit confused when the maid forgot to clean my room, other than the bathroom. She didn't make the bed or vacuum the floor. There was no explanation as to why. The Sports Bar downstairs had a nice atmosphere and good food. This was a definite plus.
