this is the former comfort inn, but said acme hotel on teh outside, i called to verify and the lady on the phone said yes. I then asked her what garage to park in since there are several on the block. She proceeded to be rude, then hung up on me! Once we got parked, we had to carry all our luggage a block in downtown chicago on the street. Trying to […] check in took OVER 20 mintues. No employees there knew how to work the computers or what they were doing, i told them the woman on the phone hung up on me, and they didnt even respond with an apology or anything. Tons of constructions, Dust everywhere. Workers have loud radios they listen to. Our room was VERY small but an updated one. No mini fridge, no drawers, not even a clock in the room which was odd. Plus theres a glowing kiss print on the bathroom mirror you cant turn off that glows under the door at night. My boyfriend checked us out, while i was still packing. Once I returned the parking pass later on, the first desk woman told me my bf already got the receipt, i asked him and he said no. She acted like i was lying to her, and got an attitute about it because she obviously didnt know how to work the computers to print it out. Finally about 5 minutes later, she realized it was on the counter! with no apology or anything she just handed it to me, no "thanks for coming" or "have a great day". Staff was SO rude and needed training BEFORE the hotel was ready for business extremely disappointed. Les mer

The hotel had some renovation going on, which left its mark. Breakfast dining is cramped and not an elaborate spread. Rooms are clean, staff are not too friendly.

Hotel is in the process of renovations. Stayed in A newly renovated basic Queen room. Small but nice. Only complaint is the lack of any drawers so cannot unpack except to an open shelf by the bed. Great breakfast. For the "green" conscious, you need to get over the wasteful styrofoam - bring your mug for always available tea and cofee. Overall the place was very nice. It is under reconstruction so theyre were alot of workers using the small elevator they had.

Comfort Inn & Suites downtown is in a perfect location. It is close to many must see sights. The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with room service ,then this is not for you. But if you want clean,comfort and quiet, then this is a hotel for you.

The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean. Didn't have the lips on the mirror in our room though. It was a very convenient location. The only thing that I could recommend is that the rooms be afforded a small refrigerator. We were able to get ice though for our beverages but no place to put some food. Comfort Inn is conveniently located to Marriott Hotel, shopping district, Rain Forest restaurant. Across the street from Bloomingdale's Home Store (the Mosque) with beautiful stained glass windows, the Comfort Inn was a comfortable, peaceful stay in Chicago. I was happy with my stay here. I was in Chicago for interviews, but being so close to Michigan Ave, Navy Pier, etc was definitely a perk in my free time. Also, the complimentary hot breakfast every morning is good. OJ, applejuice, tea, coffee, and water are the beverages. the outlets did not work in our room. we had to move in the middle of the night and in the process the house keeper showed us a room in which someone was already occuping. although the service of the staff was great, the renovation was an annoying nusance.

Nice bedding, but no closet or dressor draws to unpack for our 3 day stay. We opted to not have maid service 1st day. 2nd day room was cleaned, but floor (no carpet), was dirty, clean towels weren't replaced, or the single coffee packets that were used...or coffee or plastic cups. We stayed here for two nights and were very satisfied. The best features were discounted parking, a great location near restaurants and the Magnificent Mile, and the included continental breakfast. The breakfast was well stocked, had a good variety and was open until 9:30, which was nice since we wanted to sleep in. This hotel did not have a closet, only hooks to hang clothes on. I was unable to shower because the head was a rain shower and I have my hair done each wk at a salon. we reserved a nonsmoking room but when we got to our room, we discovered it was a smoking room and it STUNK! We called the front desk to ask to be switched and were told there were no more nonsmoking rooms available. Not 30 minutes later, the air conditioner kicked on and leaked all over the floor and bed. After another call to the front desk, a non […] smoking room was mysteriously suddenly available and we were moved immediately. The old room was yucky..this new room was freshly remodeled and totally cool..modern art on the wall, wood floor, a shower head hanging off the ceiling over the bathtub that was the size of a hubcap. the window faced the wall of the building next door so there was zero view (couldn't even see the sky) but it was private, quiet, clean and more than I expected for the price we paid. The staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable and relatively quiet. There was an odor of cigarette smoke in my non-smoking room that would be my only complaint. Overall it was a very good value.

Very close to Michigan Ave. Very friendly staff. Currently doing remodeling; it was nice before, but the rooms are very chic now. Very nice breakfasts. Small hotel with small elevators and small workout area - all fine with me. Overall, great for my purposes as a single traveler.

The hotel is going through some renovations currently and it is a bit noisy at times. Also, elevators were a pain, as it took forever to go up or down. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was put in a renovated room, which was small but comfy and modern. Great choice as it is centrally located, a few minutes away from Navy […] Pier, shopping in the Magnificent Mile, and John Hancock Observatory. Fabulous place to stay, great customer service and when the renovatioins are complete on all of the floors it will have an amazing condition! I had a late arrival but that was okay. Parking is convenient and cheap for the down town Chicago area. Hotels.com booked me in a smoking room and at the best rate so when I showed my military ID I was told I […] looked like a non-smoker, would I prefer a non-smoking room with a view at no extra charge, well I sure would! The view was amazing. The new heat system in our room didn't work, however they did attempt to fix it. I'm sure it's just a simple button that needs adjusting that we couldn't find. We stayed here for one night, two people...it was a perfect location, very short walk to most attractions. The breakfast was GREAT and the staff was very, very kind. The day we were checking out, it was raining, and the front desk clerk offered us her umbrella to borrow for the day! It was so appreciated and made the whole visit better. The room is as small as most reviews tend to point out. I really had no issue with that aspect of my stay. What I did take issue with was the incredibly thin walls that allowed me to hear everything in the rooms surrounding mine and the lackluster WIFI service that prevented me from logging on for anymore than a few minutes at a time.

The Comfort Inn is in a great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was small, but I didn't need a lot of space. Walls are thin, and I did hear people in the halls. Not sure why they allow smoking on two floors of the hotel since it makes many areas smell like smoke, including my floor (4th floor). There is a gym, but the equipment […] is sparse and old. Unless you get a suite, the room are very small with only one double bed. I was quite taken aback by the size of the room.

This hotel was located by a ton of different places to eat, the EL, and places to go! The size of the room is great, cozy, besides it was just my husband and I...do you really need a big room? when the whole point is to out? The service was great, very friendly.. all in all I would book this hotel again.

This hotel is north of the Loop and only a few blocks off North Michigan Avenue, in a trendy neighborhood with lots of restaurants (including Rick Bayless's top-rated Mexican restaurants) and shops (try nearby P.O.S.H. in the Tree Studios Building for great retro home items). This Comfort Inn & Suites is a great value for the money, with a free breakfast […] included and In-and-out parking in the next-door parking structure at a very reasonable price. The hotel is in a convenient location for restaurants and shops and food stores like Trader Joes and Whole Foods. The suites are a nice size and it was great to have a refrigerator and microwave. I needed to travel to Chicago for a graduate school info session and wanted to stay within walking distance of the school, restaurants, and other nearby attractions. When looking at other hotels, I was amazed at how expensive parking is at most Chicago hotels! However, the Comfort Inn only charged about a $25 fee per night we stayed, and we were allowed […] to move the car in and out as we pleased (at other hotels, we had to pay anytime we moved the car). However, we didn't have to move the car at all because we were within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and fun things to do! We were right next door to the best deep dish pizza restaurant. The room was small, but if you're coming to Chicago, who wants to stay inside the hotel anyway?! It was the perfect size for two of us - very clean, and not much noise. The heater made a little bit of noise when it came on and off, but the hotel itself was pretty quiet. The only negative thing about our stay is that I am allergic to down pillows, and the room only had down pillows (other hotels I have stayed in usually have down and non-down to choose from), but when I called the front desk to require new pillows they were delivered within minutes. The staff was SO kind and helpful! Being new to the city, they were very patient and kind as we navigated our way to the hotel, and they offered some local places to eat and check out. If you decide to stay here, make sure you ask about the parking situation right away - when we first got there we were confused about where to go, but all it took was a phone call to figure it out. Overall, a fantastic stay in a wonderful city. If (when!) we go back, I am sure we'll stay there again. Les mer

We stayed at the Chicago Comfort Inn & Suites for one weekend. Rented 3 double rooms for 2 nights at a very competitive rate and it even included breakfast. The hotel's location is perfect. Standard double rooms are relatively small (and ours were facing the back yard), but we were there to see the city and only sleep in our rooms. The service is good […] and the location great - just down from magnificent mile. Breakfast choices were limited, but sufficient with bagels, waffels, yogurt and fresh fruit. Close to all the must see sights

The room I stayed in was a little smaller than a walk in closet. I had read the reviews and didnt go with a huge expectations but if you need a place to sleep and dont care about the views out the window or much else its a good location for downtown access and a comfortable bed. 3 things I didnt care for: 1-the smallest room I ever stayed in "even for […] Chicago" 2-open the curtins to a view of a brick wall "heres a clue clean the pigeon due off the windows once in a while" 3-Whats Up! did the furniture get repo in the middle of the night or are you moving? the hotel? those movers at 2am where very noisey! not to even say that the trucks in front and a dozen guys going up and down tieing up the elevators with furniture really was a pain in the butt. I treated my fiance to a birthday stay at this hotel. It was comfortable for being a Inn. The rooms are very small even my bedroom is bigger than this. The channels all didn't work and they were doing construction early in the morning. gosh at least let us sleep in til 9 am. overall the staff was nice and the bed is comfortable. This was the worst hotel selection and I would never stay at this hotel or location again. The rooms were terrible, service was bad, floors filled with smokers and staff could care less, I had to change rooms and was just as bad. I think you get the point here.
