Alle ansatte var hyggelige og imøtekommende. De er behjelpelige med å ordne skyss fra/til flyplassen. Et lite hotell med god service, som gir det lille ekstra ved å hver kveld levere værmelding og en søtsak på rommet. Bra og variert utvalg til frokost. Beliggende ved Piazza del Popolo er det gåavstand til bl.a. Spansketrappen og Trevi fontenen. Metroen […] ligger like ved hotellet. Fra Piazza del Popolo går lange handlegater og det er mange restauranter i området. Anbefales! Les mer

Vi opplevde en fantastisk service fra alle hold på hotellet. Rommet ble rengjort to ganger daglig og værmeldingen ble levert hver dag. God og variert frokost. Hotellets beliggenhet ligger litt utenfor kjernen av sentrum, noe som gjør det til et rolig og behagelig sted. Det er også veldig enkelt å orientere seg fra hotellet og til de typiske attraksjonene. […] Dessuten vil de i resepsjonen gi en full visning på et kart med en gang man ankommer, om hvor de ulike attraksjonene ligger. Er å anbefale å oppgradere til et litt bedre rom, da rommene er litt små. Ingen ting å klage på, på hotellets standard. Les mer

Hotellet har fin bar/ lounge og god service. Classic rommene er små men greie. Man må ta to heiser for å bevege seg mellom romet og ground floor. Greit utvalg i frokostbuffeten. Totalt sett bra hotel for penga og veldig nærme banen (Flaminio).

River Palace ligger et steinkast fra Piazza del Popolo og er et forholdsvis lite hotell med bare 8 rom på hver etasje. Beliggenheten er fantastisk flott, bare et par hundre meter fra Metrostasjonen Flaminia. Via Flaminia er en rolig gate med noen enkle restauranter, butikker og kiosker. Rommene er rene og pene, og hver kveld fikk vi en hilsen fra hotellet […] med værvarsling for kommende dag samt en liten konfekt. Frokosten var utsøkt og likeså tapas-serveringen vi kunne nyte i baren fra kl 18-22. Vi kommer garantert tilbake til River Palace og anbefaler dette hyggelige hotellet til alle vi kjenner! Vi har reist mye i Italia, og dette er det hyggeligste hotellet vi har bodd på. Både når det gjelder service, maten og omgivelsene. Hotellet fremstår som delikat og veldig gjennomført. Damaskhåndklær, badekåper, tøfler om man velger å oppgradere rommet til Superior! UTMEKET. Vi gir terningkast 6! Les mer

River Palace var en svært hyggelig overraskelse. Maksimalisme; javel. Men rent, ryddig, hjelpsom betjening, håndskrevne velkommen-til-oss-kort og 'værmelding' levert på rommet hver dag. Jeg tror badet ble ryddet tre ganger daglig!! God og enkel frokost. Fin beliggenhet; gangavstand til alle kjente severdigheter. Men gå til/fra Piazze de Popolo for taxi. […] Det sparer tid og penger. This is a great place to stay for a hotel in a more 'non-touristy' location yet only a minute's walk from Piazza del Popolo and a Metro stop. This area has a lot of students and some cheap but decent food. The hotel service was great and the room itself was a very good size with a nice modern bathroom. The only thing we did not like about this hotel […] was that you needed two different elevator banks to reach the hotel rooms. While this is great for added security, it was slightly inconvenient. This is a great hotel in a lovely part of Rome. The location is perfect for sightseeing and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very small but spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was excellent in every way and the service was superb. My husband and I loved the location. The metro station was literally 2 blocks away and the hotel was pretty close to everything. The hotel itself was very nice and as many before me have already expressed, the breakfast was really good and definitely convenient. […] The only thing that we were not crazy about was the size of the room. We had one of the larger ones and it was not that spacious. Their really isn't any walking room and the bathroom is small as well. Very pretty and elegant hotel, but small. If space is a big factor for you, we would recommend getting the suite. Other than that everything else was excellent. Great location, easy to get to and from your destination for the day. Also we are not drinkers, but the hotel offers a happy hour where all alcoholic beverages are 50% off and they serve little delicious complimentary appetizers during the happy hour which were great! All staff were very helpful and pleasant, giving useful information about the city, transportation and restaurants. The breakfast buffett was outstanding - offering a delicious array of hot and cold foods. Especially delightful were cheese and meat assortments, fresh fruits & fruit juices, hot milk for hot coffee (a European class act) and lovely pasteries. We […] had two different sleeping rooms due to our travel plans: enjoying both the classic & deluxe (larger) because they were beautifully furnished & clean. A special touch was the nightly pampering of closing the drapes, turning down the bed sheets & leaving a sweet treat. We were also welcomed with a bottle of wine. Finally, the happy hour half-priced drinks with snacks were a relaxing closure to day-long sightseeing. We highly recommend this lovely & unique Rome hotel. Les mer

Recently stayed at the River Palace Hotel for 4 nights after doing lots of research on various websites. I was not dissappointed as the hotel was fabulous. Great location, just 5 minutes walk from the main shopping area and within a 20 - 30 minute walk to the Colisseo, Vatican and about 10 - 15 minutes maximum to to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain […] & Pantheon. We were able to walk everywhere, felt very safe and did not get lost. Could not fault the room. We booked a suite, which was great with magnificant views on the terrace, which was a brucie bonus. Did not see any of the other rooms so could not comment on room size. Happy hour in the bar from 6 pm to 10 pm (half price drinks) was great after a meal out and a hard day strolling round the wonderful sights as well as the shops. Seemed to be well used by residents. Glass of wine in happy hours was 3 euros so was cheaper than in Rome. Would go back to the River Palace. Breakfast was also excellent and set us up for the day. Lots of choice and great times to eat. Booked a transfer via the hotel, which was a little bit more than a city taxi or the train into central rome but after a 2 flights and a long day it was well worth it - we were even given a guided tour by the driver (in the dark) and we were so impressed with the ease of the transfer and comfort, we booked a return journey. We loved this hotel, it was a Grande Palace, the breakfast was amazing not to be missed. The bathroom was first class. Location was great we walked to Trevi, colesum,vatacian. Only nine euros toto go to main railway by taxi and two nearby restaurants were excellent. We were more than happy with the service, staff andquality of this hotel

I researched locations and hotels within Rome for hours. Because I'm a solo female traveler, area and safety are of extra concern. River Palace is ranked #49 of Rome's hotels by Trip Advisor and one of the most reasonably priced that I found. Pros: - Location - Safety - Cleanliness - Breakfast (available for 4 1/2 hours) - Quaint rooms - English speaking […] news channels - Free WiFi - In-room safe - Restaurants near by - Helpful and extremely nice staff Cons: - Thin doors - Smaller rooms - Small shower If concerned about the location not being "central" like I was, it was actually more perfect than I could have wished for. It was a short walk to the metro and not even 100 yards from the Piazza del Popolo. River Palace Hotel is the beginning of the Rome that you want to be in. The hotel is where fun Rome begins, but it's not in the midst of overwhelming chaos. Near the main attractions (Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colosseum, Pantheon...) is so overwhelmingly loud and chaotic that being in it 24/7 would be too much. The rooms are on the smaller side like what you would expect a European hotel to be but they're not so small that you're crawling over the bed to walk out the door; they're acceptable. As for the thin door, that was slightly annoying. You can hear people talking in the hall and other doors closing (oftentimes slamming). However everything else considered, I'll take those two minor drawbacks. River Palace was quite generous and gave an excellent bottle of chianti (a DCOG--the second highest grade), however there was no corkscrew anywhere to be found. My advice? Be creative. I used the "push method". Take one of the hangers and push the cork in. Not the ideal way to open a bottle of wine but, hey, sometimes you have to be creative. That random information aside, you're going to be close to everything a person should be close to while in a safe area. If possible, I'd give you a money back guarantee that you'll be happy with this hotel. Les mer

What a lovely hotel. Plenty of good reviews already and now we know why. Service was tremendous before and during the trip, It was my wife's birthday and they treated her specially for it. This is a wonderful hotel, great breakfast choice and the staff were very helpful and polite. Walking distance to all sights and 100m from Metro. Happy hour 6-10pm with complimentary sandwiches and nibbles. Very clean and warm hotel. Room small but you can upgrade. We didn't bother as we were out all day then out again in the evening. Great Hotel! We stayed at the River Palace for a week in December. The staff was friendly, the room was nice and comfortable. The location was great, walking distance to many locations, and if walking was too far, the hotel is a block from the metro station. We enjoyed the happy hour and overall had a wonderful stay.

Nice hotel clean and very nice helpful staff. Everyone went out of thier way to be of any assistance. Rooms were nice and clean pays to upgrade from the smallest room to the next size up much more comfortable. Walking distance to everything. Breakfast was amazing! Each morning they offered a cappucino or espresso and there was even champagne. Juices, […] Smoked salmon, meats, cheeses, fresh breads and pastries and american style eggs, bacon etc. Huge breakfast included in the room rate. Worth the price of this hotel. Amazing. Just one minute away from Piazza del Popolo, at Flaminio metro station, River Palace offered very generous breakfast buffet. Employees of the hotel were always eager to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel

River Palace is not a horrible hotel, however I not impressed by this suppossed 4 star. The room was beyond European hotel small. The shower and bathroom were a joke. I'm 5'6'' and 125 lbs. and had a heck of a time in the shower. The nice thing was it was two blocks from the Flaminia Metro stop, just outside the chaois of the main streets of Rome. Everything […] is in easy walking distance if you don't need to take the Metro. I love to walk and it was only a 30 min walk to the Coloseeum from the hotel. They set you up with a nice map and even give the walking distance to everything. The behind the scenes empolyees were very friendly and did a great job. It was the guys at the desk who were rude and not very friendly, really pushed that fake trying to hard friendly. They had a nice breakfast buffet but the set up was a little confusing to try to find things, like salt and pepper. Otherwise it was ok. There was a great resturant just down 2 blocks that had awesome food for a great price, would totally recommend, next to the burger king. I would say not horrible but not great. Les mer

A beautifully decorated hotel in keeping with the 'Palace' name. Excellent breakfast and friendly helpful staff make this hotel one to remember. The two lift (elevator) arrangement is a bit inconvenient. Used their private car service to airport, much more comfortable and less hassle than a taxi, for much the same cost - recommended. Rome was our last city after 2 weeks of travel throughout Italy. We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the hotel. It had the best breakfast and the cocktail hour with half price drinks was a great way to start out each night. The rooms are small but the bathrooms were a decent size. We didn't spend much time in the room but it was clean and felt safe. […] The hotel is conveniently located and is close to the vatican and spanish steps and great shopping. My husband and I stayed at The River Palace during the last leg of our honeymoon. We had no major complaints with the hotel staff, but you should be aware that if you book a room, they will ask if you'd like an upgrade. I'm not sure what our reservation requested, but if non-smoking is a concern to you, you should make sure to ask if there is smoking […] allowed in the rooms on your floor. Even though we did not smoke, others on the floor were allowed and somehow, it crept into our room, either through the air vent or through cracks in the door. We were forced to open our "balcony" doors overnight to be able to breath sensibly. In the summertime, that might not be a desirable option. Just make sure you ask before you check-in about the smoking if it bothers you, because it did bother us. The service was good, but there aren't many dining options close by and they seem to close early, so if you're out past 8 pm, make sure you get dinner while out or get to the Burger King at the end of the Via Flaminia near the Metro stop before 11 pm! Breakfast was excellent and open (while we were there) from 6:00 am to 10:30 am. It was buffet style and had many options, both local and some western choices as well. The area the hotel is located in does not look particularly great, but it's a short, direct walk to the Piazza del Popolo which starts getting a more touristy feel. They provide a map at the hotel with some area sights and can answer basic questions. There are two computers available to use that are usually busy downstairs, but they offer free WiFi in the rooms and in the lobby, which is great, especially if you have a computer or Android phone or iPad/iPod that can take advantage of it to send data (i.e pictures of your trip). The classic room was fine for one person for one night and had everything except space (beautifully decorated including a fresco ceiling and marble bathroom). If spending any […] length of time, you should think about a superior room just for space. The breakfast was excellent and had capuccino service as well as sweets, fruit, meats, cheese, and eggs. Service was very nice. Public rooms were large, well decorated and the afternoon happy hour which lasts until 1000 PM includes some hors d'oeuvres and 2 for 1 drinks. Only criticism I have is the small elevator to higher floors (just fits 2 persons) and small rooms, otherwise, recommend highly and with enthusiasm. Try Pizza Perroni near Tiber and arch museum for excellent pizza in a lively environment. Les mer

The River Palace Hotel is a pretty nice choice considering all the options you have. It's located within walking distance of a few popular sights, including the Vatican. The room was nice. It's a bit small but that's absolutely normal for a European hotel room, especially one in a city like Rome. The TV was pleasantly large, although you probably won't […] find any free English speaking channels. They do offer pay-per-view choices though. Bathroom was great. It was the first time I've ever seen a heated towel rack; kept the towels nice and toasty. The only thing I could possibly find wrong with this choice is that the one pillow on my bed was unbearably thin. Although that's easily fixed by asking for more. Parking was pretty convenient. The have a nearby underground garage that stores your car safe and secure for a reasonable fee. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful and all spoke perfect English. The porter even hopped in my car and guided me to the nearby garage which was really convenient. Overall, very satisfied with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone that is trying to find a nice hotel relatively close to the main attractions. Les mer

we stayed over New years eve and enjoyed the hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is good. Only bummer was the not working cold water handle for the sink. They provided also a wine bottle as a welcome gift (very nice) but the wine was just ok and the bigger disappointment there was no opener in the room and room service couldnt find one. […] so we had to wait for the next day and ask the bar staff. we wanted to check out 2 hours later and where charged 50 additional Euros. The River Palace is a beautiful hotel in Rome. The lobby is marble, as are the spacious bathrooms (huge soaking tub and separate shower). The rooms are small, but well equipped. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is complimentary and includes eggs, bacon, sausage, salmon, fruit, pastries, several types of juices, and Prossecco (if you […] are so inclined). Every day there is a happy hour with half price drinks...a welcome respite from the sometimes high prices in Rome. WiFi is free. The hotel will send a car to pick you up if you arrange it. Very nice hotel that lived up to the majority of reviews. The only problem we had during our stay was the elevator wasn't working and we were on the 7th floor. The hotel staff did compensate us with 20 euro per day of hotel/bar credit. Other than elevator problem (and I'm sure it's fixed by now), a great hotel with a very helpful, friendly staff!

The River Palace is a very nice hotel, located just north of Piazza del Popolo. Slightly out of the way, BUT very convenient to a well run subway, and close to buses as well. Staff was exceptional... and the breakfast was excellent! The hotel is clean, professionally run, and in an area that felt safe (we were in and out at all hours and never felt […] concerned). Very close to Villa Borghese and to Spanish Steps, and not far from Trevi Fountain. Little farther to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon area. This is a gorgeous hotel and the staff was fantastic. The only problem is that the rooms are very very small. Breakfast was very good and the location was very convenient. Would definitely recommend and stay there again. But try to get the larger room if you can. The Classic standard room is the size of a postage stamp!

The hot breakfast buffet was great to start the day off. Lots of variety like an American-style breakfast and the food was very well-prepared. Our room was small (normal by European standards), but very clean and comfy. We originally had a triple, but I asked to have the extra bed removed, and they did. Hotel staff were very helpful and spoke English […] very well. Americans and those who speak English but no Italian would be comfortable here. The location was the best -- walking distance to Via del Corso and all the great shopping and just a few steps away from the metro. This was a great experience for two first timers in Rome. we could and did walk to many sights. Room was a bit small but that is to be expected in Europe. Definitely would come again!

River Palace is near many beautiful and historical destination in Rome. The hotel is very clean, safe and has a very helpful and pleasant staff. The inside and out of the hotel is very pretty and the buffet breakfast was one of the best we had in any hotel. The hotel and staff where all wonderful. My only complaint was the room is so very small.

Very accomodating. Spoke good English. Gave us a 3 prong outlet converter( we only brought a 2 prong one). Coceirge was always helpful and accurate. The standard size room they offer is the same size as your average north american walk in closet. The extra 20 euros per night is worth the additional 20 sqft. Great location for getting to most of the major sights in Rome. Subway was 1/2 block away and very easy to get around, although most important sights are still a bit of a walk from subway stations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Always someone on duty who spoke English. The best breakfasts we had in Italy.

The hotel staff was very attentive and at my request they had driver pick us up at the Rome Airport. This was great since this was our first time in Italy and we were a bit nervous. Our room was facing the street where this is construction work going on so we requested a room on the inside court. They quickly moved us with no hesitation. The room was quite small but fine with the exception of the shower which was about 24X24, it was not possible to bend down in the shower. However is was clean an more than adequate for our stay. River Palace is a nice hotel very close to piazza del popolo and within walking distance of most of Rome's sights. The staff were very nice and could speak good english. The classic room was a bit small but had all the comforts. Breakfast was buffet, with a wide choice and plentiful. Very good hotel.

The River Palace was with in walking distance to the major sights. The hotel has a happy hour which was a great place to meet fellow travelers and get information regarding eating places and learn about their experiences. Would recommend this hotel, its staff was very helpful.
