"It was OK, but very small"
This hotel was OK. The rooms were very very small. Just enough room for the bed. The breakfast hot water was cold, so I had to use the coffee maker in my room for hot water for my oatmeal. I will say though that the staff is very friendly and helpful. The first room they tried to put us in reeked of smoke and they moved us promptly to a room that had […] no smell whatsoever, which is very important to me. The proximity to The Villages (to visit grandparents) was nice, while still being reasonably priced. I'd say for The Villages this hotel is fine b/c the nicer ones cost 50% more, but compared to the Holiday Inn Express I stayed at in Orlando for the same price as this Microtel, it was not a very comfortable place to stay. Stay was adequate. Room small. Only desk chair. Breakfast adequate. Bed comfortable, but had to request second pillows. Hotel stay was ok, nothing special.

I was sorry that I didn't ask about an AAA or ARRP discount. I thought it was a little closer to the Villages where we were visiting.

the stay was good price a little hight for the area but we needed to stay some place. but i was realy pleasedd with the roomand the service. will stay aginif need too.
We had the queen suite. It needed to be remodeled, and the molding was quite dirty in the bathroom. Not a pretty sight when sitting on the commode.

Tiny room, I couldn't believe. The A.C. Unit is right next the bed, every time you went to the bed you got a draft of cold air on your legs, doesn't sound like much but just not comforting. It was a good clean hotel, if a little pricy for the area. Only one elevator and 2 luggage carts for the entire hotel, so getting in and out took much longer then it should have. Room was neat and clean, staff very friendly. Did not get to sample breakfast as I spent 30 minutes trying to get a luggage cart for checkout.

We stayed in a queen suite. Old-fashioned CRT TV. Hair dryer did not work. No iron or ironing board, but maintenance man brought one in as we were checking out. Staff was kind and accommodating - Room was clean and functioned well. Quiet though crowded due to Daytona 500 weekend. Did not try breakfast, but looked nothing spectacular. Staying at the Villages for our work is difficult. .We don't like to spend a lot on a work trip.. The Micro tel was comfortable and clean..and did what we needed.

Needed a place to stay before our new home was ready. Nice place, clean. Comfortable beds. Breakfast ok. They allow pets and have a nice walk area for them. Great location by the villages.

Had to travel to The Villages for a family event. The hotel was very convenient and easy to get to & from. Although very small, the room was extraordinarily clean. Did not like the TV location near the ceiling (on top of the wardrobe) b/c it could only be seen from the bed. Hotel is pet-friendly, so I would suggest they segregate guests with dogs in […] one area or on one floor; I did not have my dogs but had them on both sides of me, which was annoying as they barked every time the elevator opened. The staff members that I met were very friendly & treated me as if I was their most important guest during my 1-night stay. The maintenance concern that I had was - at least verbally - handled in a very professional manner. (The gal at the front desk said she would report it immediately when I reported it as I was checking out, & it appeared as if she […] did so.) I have stayed at Microtel Inn & Suites before & find that they are a great value for the cost. "Budget accommodations near The Villages"
With a family of 4 traveling to FL over Christmas, we basically had to pick cheap accommodations to offset the ridiculous airfare costs. The people running the place are friendly and competent. It seemed like the rooms were cleaned, and we were given plenty of fresh towels, etc. They had a little sitting bench by the window, which ended up being a handy […] place for the kids to hang out. That said, the room had a damp/humid smell when we walked in. The "continental breakfast" was okay for budget accommodations, with muffins, small yogurts, fruit, juices and coffee, etc. The place is pretty close to The Villages, but over one hour from Orlando. I would say the place is "clean enough" for budget accommodations. The TVs were so old, it was a tube TV with a curved screen, not even flat tube screen. Not that we were in town to sit in front of the TV, but it just indicates that no updating had been done in a long time. Les mer

I was pleasently surprised at the high standard of this motel. The nightly rate is extremely low for the high quality and cleanliness I received. I did notice mold starting to form on the shower curtain. I did quietly report this to the staff at the front desk and later that day when I returned there was a fresh curtain in it's place. The pillows were […] not as comfortable as I would have liked but they were adequate. The motels and hotels in the area are $30 to $60 higher with very little more to offer. This particular location has won the "Best Hotel" award for ten years straight...I hope they are able to make it eleven! I will stay there again and will recommend family to do the same. Les mer

A clean, basic hotel offering a modest, but valuable continental breakfast, 24 hour coffee, and cookies at night. Next to an excellent eating place for ribs. Good place for the money. We had a wonderful experience staying at Microtel. Breakfast was included and was a delightful surprise. The price was right and our stay could not have been better anywhere else. Clean room, friendly staff, etc.

This is a nice hotel but they need to rethink their AC unit use prior to your arrival. When I arrived at 10pm my first night, they did not have the rooms AC unit running. It took half the night for the room to get comfortable. I will go again, BUT I will call ahead and advise them to put my rooms AC unit on so that my room is comfortable.

I only stayed one night but I will return. 15 minutes from The Villages where everything is. Pleasant staff, clean and very comfortable room. As soon as I walked through the front door, the Inn smelled clean and fresh, the lobby was nice and inviting. Definitely check this place out.

"Smaller than expected!!"
The only room pics shown on the website are of the suites. We booked through Hotels.com and got a really good price. It was not the room we expected. The wireless internet did not work on the 2nd or 3rd floor. We were told at the desk that we needed to be closer to the lobby. They did have a loaner ethernet cable but they advertise free wireless internet. […] Will not stay again. Les mer

I will stay at this hotel next time I visit The Villages. Although it's not right next to the town, it's less than 5 minutes away. And it's right next to Oakwood Restaurant that has the best ribs in the area. The staff at Microtel were the friendliest and most helpful I have encountered in years. "Microtel in Lady Lake..."
We enjoyed our stay in the Microtel Suite and Inns in Lady Lake. We were there for a 6 nights stay and all the people working there were very nice to us. It was too bad the sun / heat was not working their best too.... but we would probably go back there if we have a chance.... Rooms were clean, breakfast area nice even if it is small. the only thing […] that needed maintenance were the long chairs at the swimming pool... they need to be replaced.... very quiet at night... we loved our stay.... "No comfy chair in room"
The hotel was fine, but our biggest complaint was that there was not one comfy chair (other than the lobby) that could be brought to our room. If you have a bad back and need to be able to sit upright for a period of time, DO NOT STAY HERE.
