Dette hotellet ble bestilt på kort varsel og det overrasket, stort. Vi hadde utsikt fra havet, det gjorde ikke noe. Alle fasiliteter, stille og rolig AC. Vifte i taket gjorde at vi sov utmerket. Great location. Super friendly staff. Bongo's (hotel bar) was right on beach and has great live entertainment everyday and good food. Next door is Crabby Bill's restaurant which has great food too. Had a great time and the employees were very pleasant and helpful.

Most aspects of my stay were great; however, the service and food quality at Spinners, the hotel restaurant, were lacking. The tilapia I ordered was somewhat dry, and even though we were the only party eating at the time, we waited what seemed like an excessively long time for our main courses.

Delightful front desk staff. Nice room. Good beach.

The hotel is torn and needs total refurbishment. The bathing area is very small. Only two lifts which don't manage the demand.

We were very pleased with our stay I look forward to returning and would recommend to my friends an family. Everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome.

We had a wonderful time. The room was bright and roomy with beautiful view and a nice balcony.. The king bed was very comfortable. We loved the refrigerator in the room. The bathroom was small and a little outdated but it was clean. The hotel is walking distance to restaurants, bars and shopping. We stayed at the Grand Plaza Hotel (St. Petes) over Easter weekend and had a wonderful time. The staff were all extremely helpful and courteous. We had a major issue with the arrangements made through Expedia and the hotel manager (Mark) was incredible! He stayed calm and friendly and ultimately worked through the problem to find an agreeable solution. […] The hotel hallways could use some updating and a fresh coat of paint, but all the staff we interacted with was amazing and made the stay enjoyable!! I have stayed in many of the resorts on Gulf Blvd such as Alden and Tradewinds. The Grand Plaza is much inferior to those places. The rooms are TINY. The pictures online of the rooms and the pool are very misleading. The pool is tiny too. You have to rent chairs on the beach which are $20 per day so you may as well pay the resort fee at Tradewinds and […] have chairs. The hotel is run down. Also, because the hotel is round, many of the "full beachfront" are not actually full beachfront but you are looking mostly at the hotels or buildings next door. The best thing about it is Bongo's. I would not, however, stay at Grand Plaza again. Les mer

Was a great escape. Had a multi-room suite overlooking the gulf. Loved bongos. Food was great. People were great. Only downside was elevators were too busy or inoperative so there was a lot of stairwell action. Luckily we were only on the 4th floor.

Beautiful beach, we stayed on 2nd floor & I would recommend staying at least one floor higher for view... room was clean & unique with a Murphy bed in addition if we had needed. Beach bar was fun, relaxing and pretty at night. We lunched at the patio & food was great!

I might be more disappointed in hotels.com...because when I said I need a room for 5 people with a walk-out ocean front view, I didn't mean a 3rd floor room with a partial-ocean view, that only slept 4 (no room even for a cot for my 5 year old---who had to sleep in the bed with my husband who is 6' 4" and me). The hotel was old. The bathroom had an old white plywood painted ceiling. The hallway echoed like a tunnel and you could hear everything. Unfortunately, our daughter is getting married there next year and the prices far exceed the nicer modern hotels like Tradewinds.

Overall hotel was ok, not great, but decent. Small pool and ok patio area. Hotel is on the older side and it shows. Hallways were hot and had very strong smell (smelled like obnoxious perfume). Room was clean and staff were friendly and attentive. However the main attraction is the ocean and as always the Gulf of Mexico was wonderful.

I stayed at St. Pete Beach, while visiting family in St. Petersburg. The Grand Plaza was a good place to stay. I was a little disappointed with the size of the room. I booked on line and insisted on a private balcony. I booked one that said two beds although all i needed was the King size, just to get the balcony. I assumed it would be a nice size room […] since it had two beds. Well the 2nd bed was a let down from wall bed. The room was so small. It was like a studio room.We made it fine and enjoyed our stay but just know if you get a room with a balcony it most likely will be small. We had just as good of service. That was my only complaint and that was my fault I suppose. Les mer

We loved the beachview room; convenient, walked on the beach everyday. Loved Bongos bar and grill right on the sand, convenient, relaxing, etc. Would highly recommend it. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, our stay was great. Room was clean and hotel staff was friendly. My friend & I stayed here for our birthday girls trip. When I booked the room the description said it had a queen & king bed which I thought was a little odd. When we got there the queen bed is actually a wall bed. The room is very small and oddly shaped, we ended up sharing the […] king bed....not sure if we would have been able to walk around the room if we would have pulled the wall bed down. I noticed a room on the ocean view side (the door was open for housekeeping), that room looked larger. The bathroom was also very small, shower space is a bit tight on elbow room. Of course, when going to the beach you aren't in the room much. The food was only adequate at the beach bar and definately overpriced...apps OK, but the sandwiches had no taste, service was very slow. I would stay here again, but would book an ocean view room and would only go to the beach bar for drinks. Also, went to the rooftop bar, not too impressive we only stayed for a drink, great view though...if you think you want to go there for dinner just read online reviews on the restaurant before shelling out the $$, a bit pricey. We went to Snappers (about 10 min walk from hotel). Not cheap but worth every penny. Les mer

Very nice, very clean, friendly staff

I loved this hotel. Great value. It is situated right on the beach. The rooms were comfortable and clean with a refrigerator. The beach and pool were right out the back door. Beautiful flat sandy beach. Breakfast was very good (entree ordered not buffet) and sandwich wrap at pool was very tasty. In and out fo rme but would defintely book an extended […] stay. Les mer

The building looks great and the location is excellent. The maintenance is lacking. One of two elevators was not working during our stay so it was a hasstle getting up and down. Beach bar is excellent and people are very friendly. Rooftop restaurant is amazing. This Hotel in the hands of a top notch hotel operator would be a gem.

The hotel was older but well kept, staff very accommodating, rooms were nice and clean, bathroom was extremely small, located right on the beach. Would definitely go back.

The hotel is old, they try to maintain it nicely. When we booked our room we were told we would have a double bed, queen and a pull out sofa. We didn't have that at all. The air conditioner in our room was not working. The elevators were not working, they only had one that was. The internet service in the rooms were very slow to not working at all. […] The beach was nice and the pool was nice also. There is no hot tub which we were told there was one. Clean and bright with comfy beds. Couldn't ask for a nicer place to enjoy the beach....and view. Staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend, and plan to stay again on next trip.

Tile in rooms need a update or cleaning

Excellent location, friendly staff, older hotel but very clean. Would definately stay there again.

Chose this as a cheaper alternative to the Sirata which was adjacent to the hotel. The King size bed was great, and the murphy bed was comfortable, but ths space was tight when the murphy bed was down.

I stayed one night; but would have liked to stay longer. The staff was friendly and helpful, from the front desk personnel to the housekeeping staff. The bed was comfy and the room and bathroom very nice. The room included a fridge and a safe. I loved the balcony. My only minor "complaint" was that the pillows were smallish and really not the most comfortable, […] however it wouldn't keep me from staying again. Les mer

Me and my girlfriend recently stayed there for valentines week...the location was vert nice..Alot of cool beach bar surrounding hotel..I would defiantly go there again

Staff are very friendly. The location on the beach was fabulous. The room was keep very clean by our cleaning lady who was super friendly. The bed was king size but the mattress sank in the center which made for an uncomfortable sleep. The grout between the tiles on the floor needs to be replaced or cleaned. The door to the room was very heavy and closed […] very noisly. We had a side view of the beach from our balcony which was lovely. The price was right for what we got. Les mer

This hotel had a great staff, fun little beach bar with some live entertainment. The gulf view was great from both of the rooms balconies and provided hours of enjoyment watching the dolphins and other sea life. Morning Buffet was sufficient and reasonable priced.

I searched high and low on the internet to find a hotel room (not an efficiency or condo or villa) with beach view rooms and nice restaurants in the hotel. Grand Plaza fit the bill. Was surprised to even find live music being played there. Revolving restaurant was one of the clinchers to go with this hotel. My husband and I stayed at the Grand Plaza for 3 nights. Beautiful beach and beautiful views! Room was very nice. We had partial ocean view and loved it. Room is very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast in the cafe was great each morning! Would definitely stay here again.

I used to live in the area but have always been curious about the local hotels. This property was older but well taken care of. Staff was helpful and friendly. Proximity of the beach and the ocean front was key for us and it was well done at this hotel. I would definitely stay again.
