"just what we were looking for...almost......."
The stay would have been over the top if the pool was available! Upon noticing our disappointment, the staff told us that all on-line sites had been told this 2 wks prior to. The photo of the pool (on the hotel.com site) is what caught our eye to begin with.......well, that and the excellent deal. Yeah.....we want it all and we usually get it w/hotel.com! "Not very clean"
Hallway smelled of cigarette smoke and the bathroom of our room was not clean when we arrived at 11 PM. We also were not able to use the pool (they were renovating it), which had been one of the reasons we chose the hotel.

My experience was very pleasant. Quiet, clean and economical. The complimentary breakfast was satisfactory. My bathroom was recently renovated.

Pool was closed, kids couldn't enjoy the evening. Yelling in the halls after the midnight hour. Not a good night sleep. Bathroom needs a make over with wall paper peeling, porcelain on tub chipped. I would not recommend to anyone.
"Just what we needed"
Were in the Rutland area for a couple days, and found the Red Roof to be a nice place to stay. Our room was very clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was very good...much nicer than many breakfasts at other hotels. We would stay there again if we were in the area.

"nice overall hotel"
It's in a great easy access location,with friendly staff. the only problem I have has is their breakfasts are somewhat to be desired. Everything else id GREAT!!
"Suitable"
We were in the area for "Maple Days". The indoor pool is nice, and from what I hear, will be renovated this month. The rooms were big with a micro and fridge. Free breakfast was good. Will stay again.

We thought the room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The outside of the building and the parking area could use some work. When we pulled up we wondered what we had gotten ourselves into. The inside was very nice.

Went up to Vermont looking for an inexpensive place for one night. Booked this place because of low price and it had a name, 'Red Roof Inn', that I recognized. Was not expecting much. Have stayed here before and will stay here again. Good value, comfortable room, nice pool and sauna with a nice breakfast. Is also pretty to close to Killington, and practically right in the middle of Rutland on Rt 7.

"1 night stay"
Nice, clean hotel... worth the price. For women, make sure you take conditioner for you hair, i found shampoo only. Other then that everything was perfect.

Me and my g/f only stayed 1 night. We had no complaints. I booked online at a great price. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Thought The breakfast buffet was good too. I would definitely go back.

"Cheap stay to visit the nearby ski resorts"
For the price, this hotel isnt that bad. The free breakfast was decent. The room was neat and the bed was comfortable.. Had to put up with a few things though. The water pressure in the shower was too week. Found a bed bug. The access cards weren't working well, so had to make a few trips to the front desk to get new ones.

The room is small but big enough for the 2 of us. The bathroom fixtures had some wear. . the window was a little busted up (the screen was falling out). "Good Cheap Option"
It was pretty cheap hotel. Located in good location close to the Killigton Mountain if driving. The hotel has a nice pool, air hockey, pool table, and sauna. Complimentary breakfast was served - very basic but still cool. The hotel is old and wear can be seen on walls, carpets, bathroom and smell. "Red Roof Inn Rutland - meet basic needs"
We stayed at Red Roof Inn for our recent ski trip to Killington. It's a convenient location, 20 mintues from the ski area. The hotel room is good size, free breakfast is ok. The only thing is that the second floor where we stayed has a smell. Otherwise we were happy with the stay.

Heat would not cycle off even when thermostat lowered to 60. made room very stuffy. other that that the place was very nice
"VT quick getaway"
For the price and the star rating, i think this is a very good hotel. The continental breakfast are common among these kind of hotel chains so it's not extraordinary however it's a good added perk. The location is pretty good as you have a small mall type behind while restaurants are close by as well. If your ultimate destination is Killington mountain […] and you don't want to pay for the higher rate, this is a good substitute. As you can get to the mountain within 20-30 minutes, depending which route you take. Overall, i was happy and will come back here again if i need a quick getaway. Les mer

Was disappointed when I was told at checking in for one night at 10 pm that the pool is open 8:30 am to 9:30 pm. Hallways and general appearance not that great but room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice surprise. Staff friendly & helpful.

"Great hotel for the price, 30 mins to Killington"
Great hotel for the money, clean, comfy, and the staff is nice. The breakfast is great too...waffles, fruit, bacon, sausage, etc. It's at least half the cost of other hotels in the area. I've stayed here a few times and have always been happy with it. Give yourself 20-30 minutes to get to Killington Ski area via car...it's not quite a close as I'd like […] it to be, but the drive is pleasant and the hotel is a great value. Les mer

Comfortable room, pool was nice! Only issue, room key times out while packing up before checkout time.
I've stayed at Red Roof Inn Rutland before and it was equally pleasant. Comfortable, clean, friendly staff, and an excellent buffet breakfast.
There was an improvement in the food service. My7 wife was especially happy to find the french vinilla for her coffee,
The only thing I was disappointed in was I was not asked what floor I prefered.

"Clean room, Hard to find"
No problems with my stay, clean and rather nice for a red roof inn. Hard to find though. MY gps has it as being located north of the cit, when it is actually just south of the city. Its on the main road that runs through town so it wasn't too hard to find. I would stay there again.

"A Hairy Situation"
This was the worst Red Roof Inn I have ever been to. The bathroom was filthy. Hair in one of the wash cloths, hair on the floor along the edge of the wall, smelly towel with large yellow-brown stain...need I say more?

The hotel was pretty outdated. Security doors did not even work. Smelled like smoke and a bit musty. Probably would reccomend a more updated hotel in the area. Breakfast was okay, but internet was pretty fast and only redeeming quality of my stay here.

This hotel was fine, room was great, affordable for a week's stay. Just a little mold in the shower grout, but otherwise clean. Bathroom could use an exhaust fan to expell steam and humidity. Water pressure is low, but flushing works exceptionally well. Beds and pillows were really very comfortable. Room walls are very well insulated against next room […] noise. Air conditioning works well and is not too noisy. Our room had a small refridgerator and microwave, and both worked well. The miniature half-cup coffee maker is aggravating, and could be replaced with a 2-4 cup unit for more convenience. Interior of hotel commons were very nice - looks much nicer inside than outside. Indoor pool and game room are very nice. Hotel staff were kind and helpful. It is very conveniently located near all the major routes to any direction, and yet outside of downtown traffic. There is a grocery store just across the street in a shopping center, and a restaurant next door. This is a perfect place to stay if you are visiting the central Vermont region for travel and tourism within 50 miles of any direction. We are very pleased with our stay, and would stay here again. "Red Roof Inn near Downtown Rutland"
The exterior looked pretty run-down but the room was very comfortable and the bathroom looked completely new. Heat/air worked and the bed and pillows were very nice. On Rt. 7 which is very convenient to other major highways and sights. Killington is about 30 min away. Staff was very polite and the breakfast was good. Pool area is nice. Stayed for one night on our way from nyc to burlington. Was exactly what we wanted - big, clean room, convenient, and a great value. Pool area looked great though didn't get to experience it. Breakfast was adequate - usual breads, waffles, etc. Worked out great.
