"Point Pleasant in St Thomas USVI"
The owners of the unit we were assigned need to make some major updates! I live in St Croix and know what all i was seeing ... a little bit of paint and some upgrades would have made our stay much more pleasant. I have a friend who lives in the complex and know what the units COULD look like. This unit has only changed the shower tiles since the whole […] complex was built. Shame, shame for the amount of money we were charged and for the conditions of this unit. The guest book and comments from all the other renters over the years should be read by the owners. The view is beautiful but that is ALL this unit had going for it. Les mer
"LOVED this place"
From the moment I got there the staff was so friendly. The superior suite (room C2) has everything my husband and I needed (stove, fridge, dishes, spoons, forks, knives, cooking items, TV, microwave etc.)The view from our room was amazing. We slept with the curtains open every night. The hotel's ocean front restaurant, "Jack's" had great food (prices […] ranging from $6-$20 a meal) and great service. The hotel provides free boating trips, kayaking gear, snorkeling gear and much more. The hotel is on a steep mountain, so you will get a work out if you chose or you can just call the bellman to take you everywhere like we did :) I love this place and will come back again! Les mer
"Great Place to Wed & Honeymoon"
Had a great time. We had our ceremony at the resort's Gazeebo. The view was breathtaking. DO spend a couple more bucks for the superior suite. My Aunt had the junior suite. It was okay, but the superior suite is impressive when compared to it. Great & stocked kitchen. DO rent a car and do shop at Plaza so you can cook. Pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, […] filters, dish liquid, dish towels and everything else is there for you! Huge and comfy bed. Jack's restaurant was on site and open. Pools were clean and open. Close to Red Hook so you can shop and get affordable drinks and local food. DO party at Duffy's Love Shack! The resort is built on steep hills, as are most things in St. Thomas. Bellman have vehicles that can assist if you hace knee problems. Request a room close to the restaurant if this is a problem. You can hear the other guest. However, there is alot to explore so chances are you won't be in you room much...neither will they. Overall, I had a good wedding (with Island Wedding Services) & Honeymoon! Les mer
"Point Pleasant - St. Thomas USVI"
BEAUTIFUL property, spectacular views, large private balcony, georgeous beaches. Great for 2 or a family. There were 7 of us, had 2 units, one above the others. Kids and parents all had a wonderful time, something for everyone. Nice to have the full kitchen (I just want to roll out of bed for my coffee, hate getting dressed first). Even if you don't […] plan on cooking, it's convenient to keep the wine chilled, have cheese and nibblers on hand. Both their restaurants were closed, minor inconvenience but made the kitchen all the more appreciated. Nicely decorated, large rooms, queen sofa sleepers were comfortable. Pools were lovely (no hot tub : ( , easy walk to the beach, plenty of snorkel stuff, kayaks etc available). Very clean, accommodating staff Les mer

Both restaurants at location were closed, with no prior notification given. Swimming pools very clean.
room has fabulous view
"Point Pleasant , St. Thomas, VI"
This is a very nice resort in a beautiful setting- the views are spectacular. it was wonderful to be so close to the shore and sleep with windows open. However, the rooms need some updating- e.g., the sliding doors jump channels, are without bearings and are often tough to move- at one point due to missing fittings, we suffered a small slice in our […] hand tryng to force the door closed. The overhead fans failed, but on the second day, both of them were promptly and courteously replaced. The only other issue was that the check-in employee was totally disinterested in providing any orientation to us; such as things such as the shuttle that runs up and down the steep roads- the existance of three very nice pools, etc. It wasn't hard to ovecome this minor shortcoming and everyone else was quite ameniable. The price was a good value too. Within 10 minutes of short drives are to two very good beaches, and ferry to St. John and shopping restaurants at Red Hook. Excellent job in integrating resort into hillside too, Les mer

While the 2 restaurants were great, especially FUNGI, the location of the hotel is not ideal, being a 40 dollar cab ride to Charlotte (2 people), or atleast 10 dollars to the nearest beach, i wouldnt reccomend this hotel to anyone. The staff was freindly and nice, but there is literally nothing to do here the power went out for 36 hours, the rooms are […] literally on a cliff so its a fairly dramatic walk up to the lobby, or down to the restaurants. Showers were a bit dirty and the bed linens were not so nice. Les mer
"Patio views unbeatable"
Our patio overlooked the ocean, sights & sounds much better than more expencive resorts.
"Point Pleasant - bargain yet nice!"
First, let me say that I am originally from St. Thomas and was returning home for a 5 night stay with my girlfriend who had never been there. Since I travel for a living across the U.S. and Canada and stay at Hilton's each week I really wanted something that wouldn't remind me of work yet was clean and comfortable for the travel snob in me. I was there […] during carnival week and most hotels were very pricy so Point Pleasant was a good bargain. I wanted affordable with a view. The hotel is exactly that. What I got was a nice size Superior Suite with the basic amenities. I had booked a junior suite but was upgraded on arrival. The lady at the front desk was great and referred us to Willie who would escort us to our unit. I covered up my accent briefly and let Willie do the welcome as I wanted to know how the hotels in my homeland represented themselves to tourist. This gentleman is a great ambassador for my homeland and explained about the property, history, island facts and available amenities. We need more people like him in the tourism sector! A bit of a drive down the hill we got to our unit. The look on my girlfriends face when she saw the view was priceless. There was not a keycard but rather I was given a regular key to the unit. As simple as that sounds it was great since I relate keycards to work hotels! Inside the unit there was a nice kitchenette which helped save money on some meals including a microwave that was very useful. The bed was a bit old but in general was comfortable. The pillows could use more frequent swap outs though. As others have mentioned the A/C is on a 6 hour timer for conservation reasons but worked great. There was a nice patio area with an amazing view of the ocean which made Point Pleasant worth every penny. The breeze and comfort of sitting on the patio looking at the water was simply amazing. The living room area had a small HDTV and the basic channels but we barely used this room. The unit itself could use some work but there was Les mer
"Cheaper and Nice beach"
It is west of Charlotte Amalie which is out of the resort loop. The airpoint is noisy but it didn't ruin our trip. We rented a car to go to nicer beaches. The one at the hotel is nice and quiet. but the water is not as clear or calm as Magen Bay or Coki beach or beaches on St John's. Consequently snorkling isn't very good there.Renting a car is a must […] since taxis are expensive and the restaurant is very expensive. The pool is great, the staff is friendly and helpful, but the internet in the room didn't work, and there were bugs in the bathroom. I think the bugs are par for the course in the Islands so we weren't disturbed. Cruise ship passengers are brought to the hotel for periods of time, which is a bit odd. We won't stay there again, but not because of the hotel - we just prefer the National Park areas of the Islands for the scenic beauty and the seclusion. Les mer
"2.5 stars"
Great views but the hotel is a bit dated and showing it's age. Sits on top of a hill so the views are awesome...all in all - it was a decent hotel... not great but not bad. Conveniently located near the Red Hook area. Pools are old and there is relly no beach to speak og.... 2.5-3 stars (max)
"Good for the price"
My husband and I stayd her for 1 night before heading to St. John for a week's vacation. The price was good, and the hotel was a 5 minute ride from the Red Hook ferry location. Overall I would say that the hotel was fine. Our room was a good size. There was nothing fancy about the room - no drinks or snacks, maid service is every other day - but it […] had a nice sized balcony looking over the water. Since we were only there for 1 night, we just ate dinner at the beach bar and didn't not have to venture into town for dinner or drinks. We didn't have any complaints, but if you are looking for more of a luxury type resort setting, then this would not be the hotel to pick. For one night, the price was much less than others I saw, and the location was exactly what we were looking for. Les mer
"Point Pleasant St Thomas, USVI"
the hotel was a little dated but the location and view are amazing. it is worth the small price to upgrade to a superior suite. My only complaint is that the bed and pillows were old and not comfortable. All in all a good value at a fair price during the busiest season on St Thomas.
"Great for a Short Visit"
We did very much enjoy this accommodation - for a short visit. The room was delightful, but the bed was so so. The walk down the hill to the beach was long, and the beach was tiny. We wanted to eat lunch at Fungi's, but it was closed on Monday. Willie was great, carrying our luggage and transporting us to the neighboring Wyndam (sp) for lunch (terrible […] lunch!). Overall the accommodations were good for viewing... but not good for activities. The Agave Restaurant on site was great, having won the 2010 Best Cuisine in the VI Award. So you see, good but not great. Les mer

"Point Pleasant resort in St. Thomas"
It's very close to Coki beach, about 7 minutes walking. I like the small kitchen that we can make breakfast and eat on the patio where we can enjoy the beautiful scene.
"Point Pleasant"
The staff is fabulous and the restaurants were terrific. fungi's is soooooo much fun. Ask for Big Will and tell him Tanya -No Citrus says hi. The Agave is fabulous. Have Rueben serve you drinks and Fernando wait your table, you will have a ball. Say hi to Willie. He drives the shuttle and be sure to have Terril taxi you around the island
If you are just looking for a room to stay in and do not care about amenities, then Point Pleasant may be what you are looking for. The pools seemed a bit run down and you will need to go elsewhere to find a restful, usable beach. There are two beaches on property. Sugar beach, is very small and Pineapple beach is run down and unmaintained. Neither […] offer beach chairs. The one plus side- the rooms have a full kitchen. So my husband and I could make some of our meals in the room and not have to go out to eat for every meal. Les mer
"Peaceful, quiet, secluded, priced fairly"
Very close to Red Hook ferrys, food and bars. Other reviews were accurate - secluded, quiet, hilly, somewhat dated but acceptable, spacious, priced right. Getting around without a car rental would be difficult. Avoided all the cruise boat tourists and downtown congestion. Next bay over - Sapphire beach is nice. Coki beach isn't very nice. Really not […] much beach at Pt Pleasant, but pools are nice as are views. Les mer
"The Point Pleasant Resort"
I was very pleased with the room, especially the view. The resort was close enough to Red Hook for an easy trip back and forth. The bar on site was not as expected (needs improvement).

We also suprised to see that no shuttle is working from 6pm so we had to climb all the way up the hill in the darkness.
"Wonderful experience!"
Great location with a great view of St John! Close to Red Hook for many excursion opportunities and away from the hustle and bustle of Charlotte Amalie. We would definitely stay at this resort if we were able to have the same condo unit!! It was fantastic with awesome views of the bay and sunrise!
"Point Pleasat Resort - St Thomas"
We had a great time at this resort. Our two bedroom villa was excellent, very clean, spacious and the views amazing. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Resort is hilly (per the other reviews) and we were at the top of the hill - but that didn't bother us or my 2 teenagers. The shuttle service ran 24/7 and my teenagers used it a lot. There are 3 pools […] to choose from, food was excellent at the 2 restaurants. We had a rental car so we could tour the island - which worked well for us. It was cheaper to rent the car than 4 of us take a taxi. Maggie Malony's in Red Hook is a great place for breakfast/lunch/dinner. We would definitely recommend this hotel / resort. And look forward to a return visit. Les mer
"Certainly a Mixed Bag"
This hotel was certainly a mixed bag. It served our purposes well for just being a place to stay on our way from St. Thomas to St. John. And the view was amazing from our room - quite lovely. But the property falls short in a number of ways. We had broken doors and windows, the drain on the tub was gross, the bed was not very comfortable. The place […] is just a little old. But if you're looking to do St. Thomas on a budget, I'd say this is a very good option. You're far away from all the tourists, which has its pluses and minuses. More quiet, but more isolated from shops, taxis and services. We got in at night and couldn't really do anything from here since we didn't have a car. But it's a short ride to Red Hook for the ferry, if you can catch a taxi at the hotel. Based on what we saw on our visit, you should make the effort to stay on St. John and not St. Thomas, but if you're going to stay on St. Thomas, you could probably do a lot worse. Les mer
"Worth The View . . . but"
We picked Point Pleasant because we knew it was close to Coki Beach (tons of fish for snorkeling) and Fungis (casual waterside restaurant). It is also a 5 min. drive to Red Hook -- but for the carless a $5 per person taxi ride each way. We were given a hilltop condo; and, although we prefer to walk and not use guest shuttles, the road/path to this […] room was far too steep. So we had to use the tram. We found the shuttle drivers rather ungracious, and often the desk would not even answer a house phone call for shuttle service! It was never clear whether to tip the driver or not. As they seemed to be just as sharp with the folks who did. The room itself was magnificent ! A wraparound balcony with views of Sugar Bay and the channel between St. John and St. Thomas. We think all the rooms are like this, but best check on the balcony type before booking. Beware, though, that the kitchen and bathroom need an upgrade. They are very dated (1970's) without a dishwasher or a garbage disposal! Maybe some units have been redone. There were power outages daily during our stay, but usually for only a few minutes. But on our last night the electricity went out around 1:00 AM and was still out when we checked out at 1:00 the next day. This made it impossible to shower, etc. because the bathroom has no natural light. There were no apologies given, and only that the workmen were dealing with it. Note that these are condo's and no breakfast is served on premises. The shuttle will take you to the Wyndam next door, but they stop running at 11:00 AM. The beach at Point Pleasant is virtually non-existent, but the Wyndam's beach is nice and can be used. There is also a deserted beach (at the shut-down resort next door) and easily reached through Fungi's restaurant. All in all, we would stay there again, because we loved the view, the cool evening breezes, and the very affordable price ! Les mer
"Point Pleasant Resort USVI"
Great value. The main benefits are the view and the balconies. It's located pretty high up on a hill so going to the beach is quite a trek. When I was there, the electricity went out at least once a day anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I was told power outages were common, and did actually see evidence of that. The staff were amazingly friendly […] and helpful. There are two great restaurants on the property, both of which are great. Just be aware, don't expect to stroll from your room to shopping. Any conveniences are about a 15 minute cab ride away. So find a grocery store and stock up on snacks. Les mer
"Secluded paradise"
I took my wife and my 1 yr old for a family vacation to the USVI and the BVI. This hotel offers a spacy and home-like style residential experience. I really enjoyed the view from the balcony right on the crystal-clear ocean water and the hills surrounding the secluded bay. I chose to drive St Thomas; you just need to be careful as driving is on the […] left side and you drive most of the time on hilly curves. Driving inside this hotel resort was a challenge by itself as the roads were curvy, narrow and, many times, feels unsafe. The very spacy suites were a little old, walls a little rotted in many spots, bathroom is small with metal roof, but I guess this is part of the "secluded" experience I was looking for. The bedroom-based unit air-condition isn't adjustable: it's either on or off with a "timer" that keeps it on for up to 6 hours - no climate control; this makes the bedroom very cold in order to cool down the living area. This was kind of a problem as we wanted to keep the living room cool for my 1 yr old sleeping in a crib; this caused the bedroom to be freezing. The restaurant on the premises (Fungi's) is good and serves good food with night entertainment. Overall, I think the hotel is a great choice if you seek calmness, seclusion, and privacy with a sense of nature beauty while giving away some amenities that other hotels may offer. Les mer

"Another happy stay"
I frequent St. Thomas on business and generally stay at this resort. While each unit is individualy owned which can lead to variation from room to room, I have always enjoyed my stays here. I always have a rental car due to business needs but the hotel offers a shuttle to the main road where you can get a taxi. The resort is on a hilltop and there […] are stairs and paths to the beach area and various pools. I enjoy the exercise but some may find this an issue. The Agave restaurant is a little over priced but meals have been good. While the food is not "outstanding" it is better than the Wyndham next door or Marriott for dinner. It is nice to have a kitchen at your disposal and I prefer to make my own healthy breakfasts and saving a little compared to eating 3 meals a day at restaurants. Les mer

"kein Hotel, eher ein Management von Condos"
Unser Aufenthalt war eine Enttäuschung. Es ist eigentlich kein Hotel, sondern das Management der einzelnen App., die privaten Besitzern gehören.
