Overall experience was good and would stay at this hotel if and when I return to Barbados. All of the staff were excellent; very helpful especially the assistant manager, Victor. The room was clean and comfortable; we had a studio overlooking the beach. It was great awaking to the waves in the morning and having tea on the balcony. You could get a good […] sandwich and great beef or chicken patty at the cafe on site. Step out the hotel and catch a bus or taxi. Five minutes to Bridgetown or St Lawrence Gap. Don't miss Friday night at Oistins (after 9pm), entertainment and fresh seafood. Lively crowd. Les mer

a little in need of modernisation, but comfortable and a great location

Located on a nice stretch of beach but the poorly trained and sullen staff negates that. Poorly designed bathrooms, faulty TV, balky air conditioner and mediocre food all says, "stay away".

Very pleasant stay: Very helpful staff, accomodating and easy to work with. Did the l;ittle extras to make stay most enjoyable. No complaints at all.....

Need better TV, and more cables channels, hot water was not always at its best. The B/fast need to be improved.

I love this hotel. Every time I go to visit my family I stay there. The staff are helpful and extremly welcoming. The service is good and the food is excellent.Rooms are clean and the amenities are good. Excellent location for Bridgetown and St Lawrence Gap.I will be staying there again next year.

This Resort is well staffed with friendly and efficient people. Our room the first night (on our way to Commonwealth of Dominica) was ocean view and very comfortable with a gorgeous view. The second night (on our way back from Dominica), the garden room was spacious, clean and very close to the ocean. Strongly recommend this resort. Words can't come close to describing my true experience at this lovely hotel. All the staff, each and every one of them had such a warm pleasant spirit about them. The Amaryllis is a part of a Blessing specifically given to me on my 50th birthday by God Himself! I'm so overwhelmed but yet humble. Staff is very accommodating. The pool is not the best, not the worst but the wonderful beach area certainly makes up for it!!

The place is obviously long in the tooth, but is on a beautiful stretch of beach and is reasonably priced. Having stayed at a more expensive, all inclusive on the same island, I actually would prefer staying here. It's convenient to the airport and some nightlife but, again, on a very good stretch of beach.

After a delayed 8 hour flight from London which turned into 10 hours I showed up at the hotel in temperature that was well into 30 degrees only to be told my room will be ready in an hour. The heat was unbearable and I just wanted to get to my air conditioned room as I was promised. I waited in the hot reception area with all the doors and windows closed […] and when I finally got to my room the maid had clearly just left. The floors were wet and strongly smell of floor cleaner. Then I couldn't charge my phone or computer or anything cause they made no provisions for English travellers. The pillows were heavy as lead and the noise was bad. The restaurant staff was stupidly ackward and moved as if they were infants playing a game. Ordered orange juice and I got a glass containing some concentrated syrup mix which I had to dilute in two glasses of water. I took the kitchen an hour to prepare a small piece f steak which was grossly over priced and after I decided I have waited too long I got up to leave and asked to get it sent to my room only to be told it's ready. I said I would take it to my room and they took another 10 minutes to bring it to me wrapped in seran wrap. They barely understood English it seemed and I keep having to repeat myself over and over again. Oh and the bell man who took me to my room offered me marijuana the minute he took me to my room. I indulge him and smelled it like he suggested as it a known income early for the poor on the island. Try your best to stay away Les mer

this is a charming hotel...old, but not dated. Comfortable, but not opulent practical, but not pompous. Arrived late on our way to Bequia; had a drink in the bar after a quick and pleasant checkin. Breakfast buffet was expensive (about $50 for two) but very nice....eggs to order, lots to choose from, including sardines and onions, beans, mushrooms, […] oats, bacon...on and on. A/C unit was not working. Room was humid and uncomfortable, took a long time to cool down

I went to Barbados for Crop Over. From what I saw, the Amaryllis is as good as any other hotel for that purpose. The staff was excellent. The Beach is beautiful.

My husband and I had a great time, I highly recommend a suite with the ocean view. I liked waking up each morning to the birds churping outside our patio.

It is certainly wonderful hotel. The rooms are so close to the beach - just few yards which makes it so nice to enjoy the sea brezze at night. Even if it costs few dolloars to get ocean view rooms, they are worth it. Most importantly, very well equipped to make your own food which is what I liked the most

This stay at Amaryllis was my second one and it was even better than the first time. The lady at the reception was very welcoming. I was offered a choice of fruit punch or rum punch on arrival at the check in desk. A bell boy was on hand to take my luggage up to my room. The room was extremely spacious and clean. Luckily for me, as I was at the end […] I had two balconies. I was overlooking a pool and a heated jacuzzi. The air-conditioning worked brilliantly. My room had a fridge/freezer, electric kettle, toaster and a microwave. There was nothing more that I could have asked for. The beach was literally down the stairs and there were loads of beach chairs available. The staff were very helpful. Besides the beach there was a wonderful bar which we made good use of during happy hour. There's also a games room, casino, there seemed to have been some children's play room too. Transport to nearly anywhere on the island is available just outside the main gates. In terms of a beach holiday and easy access to transport this is most definitely the place to stay. Actually, the hotel's website does very little justice to itself as you get a lot more than you've bargained for. No complaints at all!!! Les mer

Our only complaint with this hotel was the dinning service. For breakfast if you left your table the birds would swarm to the table and steal your food. The service was so bad that we had to find our own silverware and plates. No one ever came by our table even to give us a bill.

All I can say is that what we pay for our stay was way too much for the poor quality of the overall hotel, very old and missmanteined, I will never go back there

This hotel is beautiful on the outside, right on the beach as promised in the pics. However the inside, although very clean, was very 1960s and in need of a refurb. The place was JUST okay - I felt like I could have done a lot better for the money, or slummed it and saved for the same experience. Little things bothered me, the strong, persistent smell […] of mildew that managed to follow me all the way back to NYC, no stopper in the bathtub, little hotwater, phone didn't work, AC unit directly over the bed, so it was like sleeping under a wind machine, doors didn't lock without a definite smash, breakfast buffet was a joke - there was literally nothing left. Saying that the staff were nice, the beach was amazing and the private palm tree shades were lush! If your looking to spoil yourself or impress a loved one - definitely do not go here - if your just looking to chill on the beach all day - go for it. Les mer

Pros: This hotel is located right on the beach. If you want to spend your days lazing on the beach, this is for you. Lots to do, lots of white sand, sun, small waves, good restaurant, pool, friendly staff. Cons: horrible internet service, some parts of the beach seafloor are rocky (but there are other beaches nearby).

The hotel grounds was in excellent condition . The staff was friendly, but the rooms were a lot out of date. I understand when a hotel does not upgrade because of teenagers and young adults destroying their rooms,but they need to give a wee bit more for the money. Forget Holidays . They take full advantage of you. I guess "you get what you pay for "is […] a complicated term . If you are on a tight budget , this is the place.If you are used to a diffewrent standard of # star .. Hotel ist direkt am Strand von Hastings, es gibt aber auch noch Gebäude, die nach hinten abgehen. Unbedingt Zimmer mit Meerblick buchen! Waren im oberen (2.) Stock, super Meerblick. Sehr groß mit Küchenzeile, super Betten, 2 Liegen und Sessel auf dem Balkon. Badezimmer leider ziemlich alt, könnte nach geschätzten 30 Jahren mal renoviert werden, daher […] nur 3* für Zustand. Aber alles sehr sauber und Anlage ist sehr gepflegt. Von der Straße hört man nichts. Man hört nur die typischen Geräusche der Frösche (wie Grillen) und natürlich das Meeresrauschen. Am Strand genügend Liegen und Schattenplätze unter Palmen. Nette Poolbar mit leckeren Cocktails und kleinen Snacks. Essen waren wir ansonsten immer außerhalb, zum Frühstück waren wir immer in der Pizzeria Mama Mia an der Straße, natürlich kein Büffet wie im Hotel, kostet aber auch nur die Hälfte. Gegenüber gibts noch einen Pub, ansonsten ist die Auswahl an Restaurants in der Umgebung nur gering und man muß auf der Straße bis Rockley Beach laufen. Besser per Minibus, die immer hupen und einen für je 2USD mitnehmen. Aber auch dort nur begrenztes Essensangebot. Hotel hat aber diverse Restaurants, die wir aber in unseren 4 Tagen nicht ausprobiert haben. Fazit: Insgesamt empfehlenswert für kurzen Aufenthalt, 2 Wochen wollte ich dort wegen Bad und Umgebung aber nicht verbringen. Günstiges Hotel für direkte Strandlage. Les mer

Ar condicionado insuficiente pro tamanho do quarto que é enoooorme... conjunto com a cozinha (completa), closet e pia do banheiro. Só vaso e ducha separados. Bom se quiser cozinhar pq refeicao em Barbados nao é barata. Localizacao boa pra quem quer se isolar, pq é longe da concentracao de restaurantes e agito noturno de St Lawrence Gap (melhor lugar […] pra ficar, onde tem tudo perto, fácil acesso ao centro, praias, passeios, hoteis com preços melhores e acomodaçoes semelhantes, além de nao precisar de taxi a noite - caminhadas a pé tranquilas). Se quiser conhecer bem a ilha reserve uma semana e numa noite vá ao restaurante 39 Steps (anexo ao Amaryllis) esse sim vale a pena. Comida maravilhosa e atentimento nota mil. Les mer

Le camere dll'hotel sono sicuramente da ristrutturare, l'impianto di condizionamento vecchio e rumoroso, il bagno piccolo e sanitari vecchi ma tutto questo viene abbondantemente compensato da una spiaggia da sogno e da un bellissimo giardino.

Mkava rantahotelli lähellä Barbadoksen pääkaupunkia Bridgetownia. Kaikin puolin toimiva ja miellyttävä paikka. Ainoa miinus oli huoneen ja erityisesti kylpyhuoneen koko ja hieman kulahtanut kunto. Yleiset tilat ja mukaan lukien piha ja ranta-alue olivat kuitenkin OK.

El hotel está bien y el servicio bastante bueno. Obviamente hay mejores hoteles en la isla pero hay muchos peores. Creo que volveré a este hotel.
