Vi ankom dette fine hotellet hvor vi ble tatt godt i mot at godt engelsktalenede resepsjonister. Rommet lå helt perfekt til i 12.etasje med flott utsikt over gamlebyen i Istanbul og ut mot det Gyldne Horn Rommene var rene og veldholdte..Frokosten var innholdsrik,sunn og god. Det beste med hotellet var uten tvil den flotte ustikten og baren med restaurant MIkla på toppen. Noe flottere enn dette skal man lete lenge etter. Beliggenheten var også midt i smørøyet med nærhet til det meste. Dette er et hotell vi vil anbefale alle som reiser til Istanbul å benytte seg av. Helt topp!

Meget god beliggenhet, kort gangavstand til både Grand Basar og Blå Moske/Aya Sofia/Top Kapi samt restarantområdene på sjøsiden av Blå Moske og i nærheten av Sisternen. Hyggelig service, men problemer med betalingssystemet siste dag (gjaldt hele området). Rommet var lite og litt "slitent". Støy kan nok forekomme , men plaget ikke oss. Lite trafikk i nærmeste gate. Hotellet totalt sett er heller tre stjerner enn fire, men internett var inkludert og fungerte. Det var helt klart verdt den moderate prisen vi betalte ,men ikke det man søker om man skal unne seg noe ekstra.

Beliggenhet og hotellet var veldig greit, - bortsett fra rommet. Det var "knøtt lite". Vanskelig for to personer å bevege seg og det var ikke noe sted å sitte bortsett fra sengen. Vi fant ikke igjen rommet fra bilder i presentasjonen

"Rimelig og greit"
Koselig hotel sentralt i Istanbul. Lett adkomst (direkte via sjølinjen med taxi). Enkel "bestemorsstandard". Be om rom mot bakgården om du plages av trafikkstøy. Litt lytt gjennom veggene og dør mot yttergang. Fantatstisk hjelpsomme og kjekke betjening.
Koselig hotell, rommet var helt ok, badet lite, veldig lytt ut til gangen. Alt i alt veldig fornøyd. Flott restaurant på taket så frokosten ble veldig hyggelig.

Hyggelig,-rent og pent. Svært behjelplig betjening. Hyggelig frokostrestaurant i øverste etage. Små rom og litt lytt ut til gangen ( mest støy fra personalet på vei opp og ned trappene) Alt i alt -veldig fornøyd. Fam på 3 damer.
"Hotel Erguvan Istanbul - nær historiske steder"
Februar 2011. 20 minutter med taxi langs Marmara kysten fra flyplassen. Man slipper å kjøre gjennom byen. Vi hadde skrevet både navn og addresse til hotellet på en lapp som vi ga taxisjåføren.Taxisjåføren kjente ikke til hotellet men spurte seg frem når han kom frem til området. Vi fikk veldig vennlig mottakelse på hotellet. Vi fikk rom i 2 og 3 etasje […] rett over hverandre. Hotellet var ganske lite og stille og uten stress. Rommene hadde air-condition med både varm og kald luft. Varmt vann i dusjen og godt trykk. Badekar. Gratis tråløst internett på rommet og PC med internett i vestibylen. TV med forholdvis mange kanaler - også engelskspråklige. Dog ingen vekking på tv men vi bestillte vekking i resepsjonen. Frokost fra 8 til 10.30 i øverste etasje (4) med takterrasse med utsikt over Marmarahavet og man kan se den blå moske fra ene del av terrassen. Frokosten var en buffe av hovedsaklig kaker. Det var også kokt egg og noe kjøttpålegg. Ellers havregryn og cornflakes. Ingen utvalg av brød. Kun skivet baguett. Kaffe, te og juice. Hotellet anbefalte uopfordret en heldaglig Bosporostur som vi valgte å si ja til. Hotellet gjorde bestillingen for oss og kunne til og med åpne frokost et kvarter tidligere for oss. Buss hentet oss kl 08.30 utenfor hotellet, vi hadde fått en kvittering ved bestilling og betalte på bussen med kort. Vi var tilbake ved 17.30 tiden. Alt uten problemer. Kort gangavstand (5 min) til Blå moske og videre til andre historsike severdigheter. Andre vei gangavstand (20 min) til fiskerestaurantområdet Kumkapi. Området rundt hotellet er kupert. Det er forholdvis bratte bakker opp til Grand Bazar. Taxi kom raskt til hotellet etter bestilling. Alt i alt er vi veldig tilfreds med bestillingen, oppholdet, hotelservice og beliggenheten av hotellet. Les mer
"Hotel Erguvan, cosy small hotel"
We stayed for 5 days in this hotel in a double room during Nov 2010. We found this to be a small and quite cosy hotel with a friendly personell that spoke english. The breakfast was good, in particular the cakes! It also has a nice breakfast place at the top floor with a terasse view towards the Blue Mosque. The room was vey nice. Perhaps one of the […] small disantageses were the very firm madrass, and some small noise from the trafic just outside (buses and cars driving to the tourists atrcations?). One of the big advanteges is how close this hotel is to major atractions. It is alos some nice small bugdet restaurants close to the hotel. Recommended. Les mer

"Hyggelig og sentralt"
Eb enkelt, men så hyggelig hotell midt i smørøyet. Rent og pent... hyggelig og hjelpsomme ansatte og en nydelig terasse på taket med utsikt over havet. Her smaker frokosten

Hotell Erguvan ligg godt plassert med gangavstand til mange av seværdigheitene. Det var ein nytelse å innta frukosten på hotellets takveranda. Her hadde vi utsikt over sjøen med alle båtane og den Blå moskeen som også var opplyst om kvelden. Personalet var svært trivelege og hjelpsame. Vi fekk gode tips om kva vi kunne gjere. "Nice accomodation in old Istanbul Sultanahmet"
A clean and reasonable priced accommodation in close location to the Blue Mosque and other interesting sites in the old part of Istanbul called Sultanahmet. A better internet service would give this accommodation a higher rating for this business traveller. The breakfast room on the top floor provides a nice view to the ships anchored outside the Bosphorus […] and a wide view of part of the Sultanahmet part of Istanbul. Les mer
"Hot night"
Wevstayed for one night in April. Room was fine but he temperature could not be adjusted. Opening the windows let the street noise in. Not a windflower sleep.

"Not worth the money"
We had booked a triple room in the hotel for 4 nights. First night we were asked to move into a double and single room as they did not have a triple room available though we had booked it a month in advance. Then when we moved to triple room, there was no wireless in that room and different staff members kept us giving different reasons. Breakfast was […] pretty ordinary. Only saving grace for the hotel is location but I am sure there would be better alternatives available in the same location. "Good location"
This hotel was in a great location in Sultanhamet area to walk to all the major sites -- and easy to get to the tram to travel to other parts of the city. It was clean and the people were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
great htl for an extended weekend trip. Close to down town, touristic attractions etc. Small room but clean and equipped with the necessities. NIce staff and the breakfast is OK. We can recommend this hotel for a short visit.

"Erguvan - Really a "Special Class""
Great location ... and excellent staff -- exactly what I was looking for. Manager on duty was extremely helpful ... told me about Salat times (checked on-line to get the correct one); gave me room even though check-in time was much later; adn helped me with the directions to get to Blue Mosque and other sight-seeing in that area. All staff was extremely helpful but Mr. Eyup was exceptionally so. They booked tours for us who were very professional and responsible in their dealings.

This was a very a charming hotel and what could easily be considered boutique level in the United States and Canada. The downside was that being this is an Islamic country (however secular Istanbul is) the Mosque blares the morning waking up prayer over loud speakers early in the morning. Western travellers especially may find this as unnecessary noise […] pollution unconducive to sleep. The breakfast was alright having a good Mediterreanean selection of foods. In this case it was above and beyond the plastic pastries we call a Continental Breakfast in the States. Location wise the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are almost right on top of you. This is coupled with a selection of many Kebob houses and street merchants dotting the Tram station area and street. Overall book this room and enjoy the 3-5 minute walk to to the tram that will get you to downtown. I doubt you will regret it. Les mer

We spent 5 nights at the Erguvan and were delighted as soon as we walked in the door. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated, the hotel staff bent over backwards to be helpful and the room, lobby, and restaurant were clean and well kept. The property is so convenient for seeing the major sights in Istanbul, only a few minute walk from 'The Blue […] Mosque', 'Hagia Sofia', and the hippodrome. The only complaint I have is that the sound within the hotel carries and at times was a little noisy. I would recommend it to anyone Les mer

Great location walking distance to all interesting sights,(and walking is the best way to get around Istanbul) simple rooms,modern bath,very clean. hotel staff was incredible..so helpful. arranged tours, cars, and reservations. Just delightful stay.

Spent two nights at this nice little hotel located in the very heart of Istanbul's old city. We arrived early in the morning and although our room wasn't ready we were escorted to the top floor breakfast room for a meal. The view was stunning! When we returned half an hour after the room was supposed to be ready, we were told that the cleaning personnel […] weren't done. While waiting we were given free drinks and snacks. The location is perfect for exploring the older parts of the city. Although the hotel is situated in a part of the city that is full of tourists, there is not much traffic, so one gets to sleep in relative calm. Istanbul is a huge city, but we had no problems getting around as the public transport system works better than in most European cities. This four star hotel is great value for money and is highly recommended. Les mer

Very conveniently located in Sultanahmet. A very nice boutique hotel with very helpful and pleasant reception staff. Breakfast a little below par for westerners.

This is more a pension or a "boutique" hotel, rather than a four and a half star hotel. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The location in the Old Town was quite good, except it was an uphill hike, on cobblestone streets, to get to all the places we wanted to go. We certainly felt safe walking around there. "Great hotel with lot of value for money"
Great service and very close to Hagia Sophia and other tourist attractions. The hotel was clean and quiet. We used one room with 2 beds and one with 3 beds. The room with 2 beds was cosier and had a much nicer view over the city. I can really recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Erguvan. The staff was just as friendly and helpful as previous posts had led me to believe and the hotel was quite comfortable and extremely well located in the historic section of Istanbul.

We stayed in the Hotel Erguvan on our trip to Istanbul, and the location could not have been better. We were a 5-minute walk from the Blue Mosque, 7 minutes from the Sultanahmet tram station (our route in from the airport), 10 minutes from the Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern. The hotel itself was nice and new. The front desk staff was incredibly […] patient and helpful in mapping out our trip, complete with restaurant recommendations and other suggestions. The hotel offers a free, rooftop terrace breakfast buffet; the food is just ok, but the view is a great way to start the day. This was my first time in Istanbul, so I cannot compare this hotel to others in the city. However, if I were to give it a star rating based on Western standards, this hotel will have a hard time making it to a two star level. The four star rating (and the price that goes with it) is highly exaggerated. Although the bedding was comfortable, but the bathroom […] in the "standard double" room is very small. There is no bathtub and the shower area is the size of a laundry sink. Breakfast is served on the patio, but the pictures are highly exaggerated and the quality and quantity of the food available is a joke. I would not stay there again. Les mer

This is a great little hotel, located in the sultanahmet area of Istanbul. It has old world charm but with lots of conveniences. The hotel is reasonably priced and the staff was very helpful. I would recommend this hotel highly.

I would highly recommend this hotel to any guest traveling to Istanbul. The location is fantastic- 5 mins walking to all the attractions yet quietly peaceful. The staff was pleasant and incredibly hospitable allowing me to check in early offering coffee and cakes since I just missed breakfast. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable.

The hotel was very clean, and every staff member went out of their way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. The hotel is as close as they claim to the Blue Mosque (6 min walk), Haggia Sophia (8 min walk), Grand Bazaar (12 min walk), Spice Bazaar (30 min walk). Fantastic breakfast spread. Free wi-fi in the rooms and a computer in the lobby […] if you don't bring yours. The only downside was that the bed was a little hard for me; it didn't bother my fiance, though, so maybe I'm just being too picky. Les mer

We arrived to find everything in order and that the accommodations were as described or better. The hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and most other tourist attractions. We found the breakfast to be very good but the wine in the terrace restaurant was very expensive and out of line with local establishments.
