You have to pull into the McDonalds parking lot next door to get to the Hotel so that […] can be a pain in the morning with the breakfast traffic coming into McDonalds. When we got there to check in, the guest service attendant seemed a little annoyed that we arrived so late. (we got into town at 11 pm). Wow, we did pay in advance so I would think we can arrive when we get there... We did just drive 7 hours straight after putting in a full day at work, but we're just the customer so what do we know. This motel is conveniently located on the business loop just outside of Poplar Bluff. When entering, it has a British b&b feel to it with a small reception area and breakfast tables and large plants. The staff is friendly, but not overly service-minded - they will help you if you need anything, but they don't appear very eager to do so. But don't get […] me wrong, they are not at all unwilling to help or rude - they just seem a little... old. Activity is at a minimum. The free breakfast was okay and completely microwave- and toaster-based. But what can you expect from a Super8 motel? To us, this was a bit too "carby" with sandwiches, bread, waffles, donuts and other sweets - but it should fit most Americans just fine. The only problem we had was that our room smelled; it had probably been a smoking room at some point, and it still had a bit of the old-cigarette-butt odor. It may not be the case with other rooms, and we quickly got used to it and it didn't bother us at all. But the first impression of the room was, due to this smell, not the best. there was no pool. the room was small. the front desk clerks were both rude. a bad experience and we will not stay here again.

Staff was nice enough but the hotel was very dirty and run down. The carpets were filthy and the bathroom was dingy.

Rooms were small but clean. Staff very nice. Only complaint, hall carpets looked dirty & stained. There was an oder in the hallways but did not carry into rooms.

The front desk staff were slow, but friendly. The room was ok, but it needs to be remodeled. It was a non-smoking facility however the room had an odor. For the money it was a good valuse and convenient.

All was well except for the musty smell that would bother anyone with asthma or allergies. Might have been insecticide too. Next time we stayed it wasn't as bad

Great area freindly people. Hotel served it's purpose for the price.

One of the things that was an issue was not having access to the other entrances other than main lobby after 10:00 pm. There should be a way where your room key accesses the other doors so that you can have easier access to your rooms other than going through main lobby. The hotel staff was very friendly and willing to answer any questions we had. There was one special feature that I really enjoyed-each room had its own safe. It was nice not to have to haul my purse every where I went when it wasn't necessary. The houskeepers did an excellent job.
