Silver Spur Travelodge - Dodge City

The heater never worked properly, Blankets were to thin, Customer service couldn't speak english, this is America, maid service sucked. It is not called the Silver Spur, its called Travel Lodge, you cannot find it if you are looking for a sign that says Silver Spur. Dilapidated, old run down. Ran by Illegals!!

Nice and clean, nothing fancy but comfortable. I had a king non smoking, it was a handicapped room. I think that the previous visitor was over 800 pounds because one side of the bed was crushed. However, just me and the other side was just fine. Need to change that bed out.

On a motorcylce ride to Denver and stopped over in Dodge City. Hotels are very expensive here. They were also all booked. We got a room here at the Silver Spur Travelodge and I'm glad my family wasn't with me. It will do in a pinch but otherwise I would choose a different hotel if there is one available.

Can't recommend this place. No pool as it has been filled in. Restaurant is closed too. Rooms were reportedly refurbished in 2011. Room had plaster missing on the corner of a wall, broken basin plug, toilet seat lid which came off whenever it was lifted, noisy air-con. First of all, this place didn't have anything related to being a "silver spur" kind of lodging, and the photo in the hotels.com site didn't look anything like it. It was in the middle of an incredibly busy main drag, and the neighborhood reflected that. It was clean but the carpeting was old and stained, the beds were comfortable, but we were vastly […] disappointed that the pool was filled in with dirt. It wasn't even lawn or flower beds -- the shape of the dirt surface was the shape the pool hadn't been. Extremely disappointed when we arrived hot and tired, and had been looking forward to a quick dip in the pool that was advertised in the hotel's listing. The staff was distracted but friendly enough. Upon arrival the first thing noticed was the shoddy appearance of the exterior. Then, after check-in, as I went from my vehicle to the room, the stairway was in need of appearance maintenance and was a bit creaky, and the concrete exterior walkway was stained and dirty. The first key issued did not work, so I had to return to the front to get another. […] The room had not been cooled at all, so the AC had to be run at max to even think about being comfortable. This facility is old and it shows it, and there were no signs that the management intended to make those much needed actions. Incidently, the pool is filled with dirt so I'm glad that wasn't a priority for me. When I tried to check out the next morning, the front was not manned by anything but a sign saying the clerk had stepped away for a moment. A half hour later, after a less than enjoyable "free" continental breakfast, the clerk was still not available so I just left my key and departed. There were other customers still waiting to check out. Overall, this place is not a worthy representative of Travelodge or Expedia. The reasonable price far exceeds the value of the establishment. This hotel was booked with the expectation of having some sort of breakfast service. My first night there was no breakfast, the office was locked no one to complain to. After complaint,the breakfast consisted of stale rolls and coffee. Repeat on third night, fourth night went to a local resturant. Not recommended

It appears that this hotel was remodeled aboout a year ago and it is starting to age a bit. Did not see the name "Silver Spur" anywhere so I wonder if there has been a management change since some of the earlier reviews. had to go to the office twice to get the showerhead fixed. had to ask for extra towels every night i was there. the continental breakfast was good, quite a variety. room needed some maintenance in the bathroom. the light outside the door really shined in the window even with the shades and curtains closed. for just sleeping and showering it is a good […] place. The Silver Spur is a very nice and clean motel. She might be a bit worn around the edges, but the room was clean, freshly painted and very comfortable. It had a king size bed, dest, mini frige, microwave, desk and a small couch. I would stay there anytime and for the price you cannot beat it!

Had a great 2 night stay here, staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. Considering the cost, we felt we had real value for our money and would certainly go back if we are ever fortunate enough to visit the States again.

If you have done some looking you have found that hotels in Dodge City are outrageously overpriced. The Travelodge is a hidden gem for the money. It has been recently renovated and the rooms are clean. The n'hood isn't great and the pool is closed but the rooms are clean and comfortable and parking is good. For the money this is a great buy.

Had the worst experience ever, no water in the pool, after booking the room just cause they had a pool, room was full of flies, coffee pot with no pot, are room wasnt clean every day and we had 3 nights already booked and paid for, and they need to spray for bugs, big water bug in bathroom. The conintental breakfast had brown orange juice, day old danish […] and watered down coffee, had to leave and go eat next door. Would not recommend this place to anyone, go next door to Super 8. On the Expedia Web Site there is a great picture of a cool, refreshing swimming pool. Unfortunitly, it has no water in it. A real bummer when the temp is 103. The ice machine was broken for 2 days. On the plus side the room was clean and large.

The room was clean. The staff were nice.The pool wasn't filled due to a 'problem' and you had to go to the main office for ice. There was a fridge in the room and the air conditioner worked. this is my 3rd review of this hotel but I think it important to continue to harp on how this hotel has changed it's stripes over the last 6 months. I have stayed 3 times in the last 2 months and have been in 3 different areas and different buildings on the property. Each time I found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable and the customer service […] very friendly. The pool is not open and the breakfast needs improvement but the new carpeting, mattresses and amenities in the rooms make this a very good choice of hotel. The rooms were nice and newly remodled. The one complaint we had is we picked the place thinking they had a pool, they did have a pool just no water in it. Would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could have made other hotel arrangements as we had children with us expecting to swim.

The hotel had a little problem with my hotel.com reservation so be sure to bring your reciept with confirmation number. Very comfortable bed, doesn't look so new from the outside but nice inside. Basic continental breakfast and in room coffee maker. Just a few blocks from downtown historic area. A Thai restuarunt and a steakhouse closeby, the steak […] was good (go to Dodge city for Thai food?) although I wouldn't think this is the best stakhouse in town. Les mer

I read a few comments on this hotel prior to booking amd must say I was weary about it at first. But the new management is really trying to improve. The parking lot has been redone and the rooms have new carpeting. My bed had a new mattress and very comfortable. Best bed in an economy hotel I have had in a long, long time. I read one review complaining about Cow Manure smells but since this is Dodge City I think that was a little unfair as cattle is still the primary business in the area. The odor was not at all bad and it was 92 degrees and sunny while I was there. The internet worked well and there are two restaurants on site but also close to the Boot Hill Historic district. If you are on a tight budget and need a place to sleep would definitely recommend. If you want luxury not the place for you. Les mer

I found that the lamps did not turn on from the wall switch. Then I could not get two of the lamps to even light. Lastly, I found that the electrical boxes were deficient. In a modern hotel, one needs to be able to plug-in modern electrical devices. The box by the table would not even hold a plug and then would provide no power. The room was cheaper than most of the hotels in the area (for good reason) The negatives - - Was booked as a non-smoking room, it had obviously been smoked in. -The exterior door would not lock upon exiting, had to have maintenance come fix it. - Tile in bath needed re-grouted, - Carpets were in need of a good steam cleaning. It's obvious the owner is milking it for all he/she can get and only maintaining minimum standards to get by. We stayed because every other Hotel in Dodge City was booked up by Pheasant Hunters. You get what you pay for. We were in town for a softball tournament, so we were actually at the hotel very little. We also paid about half of what everyone else paid at other various locations in the area. If you are expecting luxury, go somewhere else, if you just want somewhere to shower & have a temporary "home base", it works well. The worst place I've ever stayed. Very dirty, moldy bathroom, sink faucet wouldn't turn off. I never felt comfortable enough to walk barefoot. No tv remote, no clock. I will never stay at a travelodge again after this. I will pay more to stay somewhere clean!

Alles in allem preis/leistung ok. aber der hier auf der seite angezeigte pool (foto) ist mit sand zugeschüttet und exestiert somit nicht mehr. ansonsten freundlich, sauber, gut erreichbar.
