"Not a good choice."
This hotel is definitely showing its years. The beds were way too soft. The bathroom was a handicapped version with the toilet paper dispenser hid way below the counter. The shower had only a hand held shower nozzle. It was loose and didn't hold its position. Just overall a dingy experience.

The hotel was not a surprise as I had read good reviews about it here beforehand. But really experienceing what was reviewed is something else. The hotel was easy to locate on the GPS. We were placed on a room in the 1st floor. The room was really clean and the bed linen was clean. The bathroom and dressing area was quite spacious and there was even […] place to keep your luggage. The fridge and microwave helped us store some take out food we brought back into the hotel room. The breakfast was the strogest highlight of our stay. Boiled eggs, waffles, toast, danish, coffee and juice was more than enough to start the day. The hotel is located very near to the highway and going to Dells is really quick and saves gas being on the highway. Overall we loved the hotel amenities and the reasonable price we booked it for. "Not a bad place"
If you're looking for someplace that is safe, clean, and professional, this is the place. We were here for a funeral, and really all we wanted was somewhere that wasn't terribly ghetto. It's convenient to the interstate, it's near a Walmart for anything you forget, the staff is nice, and you get a clean bed in a quiet room. That's what I was looking […] for, and that's what I got. Only complaint is that the hard boiled eggs tasted funny, but I can't speak to the other options on the breakfast buffet. If you're health conscious, bring or buy your own. "Best Western in Portage, WI - Quality Hotel"
We stayed at this hotel for 5 days, I would say the overall impression of the hotel was good. The rooms were quite, the hotel service was above average, the hotel in general and our room was well maintained and clean. Although the hotel did not have a restaurant, they did provide a free breakfast, a restaurant was next door to it and there were plenty […] of food choices within a mile of the hotel. The indoor pool was nice. There is a gym, but it only had a few pieces of exercise equipment. The only thing I could see the hotel needed to improve was their wireless internet service, which was free, but very slow. Les mer
The hotel was clean however it was a very busy night. The hotel was packed with kids in the pool. The hotel allegedly ran out of towels in the entire hotel which is absurd. So they handed out hand towels - one per kid - and were rude and totally unconcerned about it. "Best Western - Portage, WI"
Had no problems with check in. The room was nicely decorated & clean. However, we were stuck close the elevator and heard it running at all hours of the night. The water in our shower made a squealing noise. While we were there they had a banquet in which they set the buffet up in the hallway that lead to the pool area. When I used the exercise room […] the some of the equipment wasn't working and another broke down on me while I was usuing it. Over all the stay was nice except for a few minor inconveniences. "Best Western Portage"
We skiied at nearby Cascade Mountain and stayed at this inn. The breakfast included waffles, hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, cereal, apples and plenty of good coffee. The beds were fine with extra pillows, the room had a flat screen TV and was quiet. The pool was medium size and the hot tub was fine. Good hotel.

Nice hotel, and pleasant staff for a reasonable price.
Cont. breakfast is great. Pool was nice. The comforter was a mess. The room smelled like bengay. Other than that is was a nice hotel.

"24 miles from The Dells"
The hotel is further from the Dells than advertised. It took almost 30 minutes to travel there. There is nothing of interest around hotel. The hotel was not much cheaper than those in Wisconsin Dells and does not offer any incentives for Dells attractions.
