Best Western Plus Austrian Chalet - Campbell River

I was pleased overall, the improvement could have been ib room comfort. It is hot water heat , no thermostat and the valve to adjust was worn out. The view was worth it all.

This hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly. The building looked a little bit run down, but it was in a nice location and easy to find.

Ok but had plumbing issue and hotel clerk seemed like she didn't care when I reported it and didn't even try to deal with it! Poor service on that part!

Very happy with our stay. Daughter loved the loft bedroom. Great breakfast.

One of the most comfortable beds in a hotel in a long time. Not rock hard. Great breakfast in a room with a view of the ocean with outside patio, weather permiting.

We took advantage of the pool and hot tub, the only disadvantage was no microwave available, however, they could have got one the following day for us.

Hotel staff seem focused on their own business, rather than on customers. It's good time to check out the level of serviceship in low season like Nobember.

The front desk staff kept me waiting while she took a phone call and while she finished some other task on the computer before she even greeted me. It was late at.night and I had had a long drive. So it bugged me more. The room was fine but the shower went from scorching to freezing to scorching every few minutes. I didn't think plumbing did that anymore. […] And. I only stayed one night on family business. I would stay there again. I thought the breakfast was good but the seating was awkward with several people in the room having breakfast and others trying to watch the TV. but it is worth the inconvenience.

This motel did everything right. It has beautiful flower boxes hanging off of each balcony. They have great activities for families, miniature golf, ping-pong table, indoor pool. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great, lots of variety, waffles, omlettes, sasauge, yogurt, hot and cold cereals, breads, muffins and pastries. It was rated as a 3.5 but compared to other 4 star motels I would give this one a 2.5 . Bed skirt ripped. not enough behind the bed to pass comfortably. Eating in the room was very uncomfortable. People were friendly. Close to downtown.

Place has obviously seen better times. Room certainly is not big enough for 2 queen beds. Made moving around, accessing the desk and balcony difficult. Breakfast room was first-class though.

great room smoking aloud on patio a major plus nowadays ! pub & bistro onsite for food in the evening and free breakfast was great . I will be back again !!!!

The hotel is gorgeous; the view is spectacular; the staff is very helpful and friendly; the breakfast is much more than expected and very delicious. We had a great stay in Campbell River.

Cannot fault staff & service. Hotel was very dated & room had stale smell. Had stayed previous week in Tin Wis in Tofino which was suoerb & so was very disappointed in condition of this Best western hotel. I realise it was considerably cheaper than Tin Wis but did not expect such a reduction in standard.

We were given two queen suites close to each other. The rooms were a wonderful surpirse as we slept in the loft and had the sitting room which overlooked the water and we were able to view the cruise ships. The facilities were excellent-breakfast buffett and pool area. Unfortunately the electircal plug for the bathroom did not work. So drying and curling […] hair was a chore-done in the living room with no mirror. There was no electrical plug in the kitchette for the coffee pot had to use the living room. Les mer

A good sized room, comfortable beds and well equipped for a short stay. Very friendly staff who did all that they could to make our stay a pleasant one. The only thing that lets the hotel down is the room decor and the external colour scheme. Why does everything have to be cream, coffee or brown? A diffrent colour scheme would help enhance the building. […] I would suggest that they look at photos of Swiss / Austrian towns that have got away from the old ideas of cream and brown. The same thing applies to the rooms, the colours are stuck in the 1970's - we have moved on. Les mer

waking up to the smell cigarette smoke in a non smoking room is unexceptable ...being woken up by noisy neighbors also unexceptable..after staying there last year in a spotless room the lack cleanliness was an issue this year..I`m considering changing hotels for my next visit to campbell river

The hotel staff was friendly, the room clean, and the park was great. Entertainment could be worked on a little more, but other than that my husband and I were please with the quality of service :)

Beautiful location across highway from the ocean and really enjoyed watching the crashing surf on the beach. Waffle breakfast was great!

arfter a long 3 and half hour drive to get there and checking out the town we checked in with a very friendly gal at the counter but when we got to our room there were cobwebs in every corner a dirty sock on the dirty carpet, a screw in the sink, major crumbs in the fridge and the sliding door on the main floor was not locked which left us feeling creepy […] and dirty. We were offered the opportuntity to change rooms but did not like the thought of carting all of our baggage up a flight (we were in town to do a Bridal show and therefore had a ton of equipment and supplies that could not be left in the car) The bedding and towels were clean however so we dicided we were too tired too switch rooms. I always choose a Best Western because it is clean, offers a breakfast and doesnt break the bank, so this was very dissapointing. Les mer

Nice place for a couple nites. I found the beds comfy and the room was very quiet. I wish there was an option at the time for 1 King bed and we were supposed to get two queens but had 2 doubles. The girlfriend and I slept in diff beds. ( It actually worked out well cause I finally got a good nite sleep) lol.

Initially, we thought our choice had been a disaster; our room reeked of cigarette smoke! Turns out, the outdoor 'smoke pit' was situated right below a window of our room! When we let hotel staff know that this just wouldn't do, they were great about extending to us the only room left in the house: a two story, 3 bedroom/3 bathroom full suite, a real […] blast from the past which had been very recently updated! This hotel is a great place for families. They offer a swimming pool, table tennis, and mini-golf to entertain us during the day. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast, which is included, is enjoyable. We sat outside, across from the beach, and enjoyed the view.

The service is good, it is clean and good location. the biggest problem with this room is the noise, there are no sound proofing. The breakfast is great and is included.

When I arrived the clerk greeted me by name even though we had not met ever. The service was great and I had a wonderful room with a jacuzzi tub which I had not requested so it was a pleasant surprise. As I had just finished travelling for 5 hours and had ran in a half marathon the previous Sunday it was just what the doctor ordered.

I recently sang in a concert in Campbell River and didn't want to drive back to Comox afterward, so my daughter and I stayed at the Best Western. It was really just a place to sleep and suited us quite well. It was clean and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. I would absolutely consider staying there again.
