Vi hadde for andre gang et fint opphold på dette hotellet og kommer til å velge dette hotellet ved neste besøk i Madrid:-)

Vi var to par som tok tog fra Alicante, for å lodde stemningen før semifinalen i Championens League mellom Real Madrid og Bayern Munchen. Hotellet lå perfekt til for rusling i gatene. Det beste av alt var at de skaffet oss to billetter til kampen. Vi fikk også tid til å bese Prada museet. Vi vil ved en seinere anledning ta turer til Barcelona, Valencia […] og andre steder i Spania. Dette var et perfekt opplegg. Les mer

Ok service. Hvert rom har egen aircondition. Bråker endel. Første rommet blåste den rett mot sengen slik at det var ubehagelig når man la seg. Vindu mot bakgården der alle andre også hadde på aircondition, dvs helt utrolig varmt og man måtte velge mellom vind i ansiktet eller hete. Våknet flere ganger og måtte skru av og på maskinen. Fikk bytte til […] et annet rom etter to dager. Trangt og noe slitt, men rent og vindu mot gaten som kunne åpnes. Der var aircond stilt inn mot rommet og ikke mot sengen. Konklusjon: Greit hotell med ideel beliggenhet. Bør bestille rom som ikke ligger mot bakgården sommerstid. Les mer

Excellent location in the middle of Madrid pedestrian area and in the walking distance to many interesting attractions. Three-minute walking to the nearest metro station (Callao). The hotel personnel was kind and helpful, the breakfast was abundant and savory. Hotel room was small but clean, comfortable and it was enough for our 5-night stay. Our room […] was in third floor, windows faced to the street. Some short-time noise came in sporadically on Friday and Saturday nights when the youth returned from night clubs but was not at all disturbing. Les mer

The location couldn't be better. It allowed you to walk to all attractions and areas. The staff were very helpful. The buffet breakfast was good. Some of the family rooms were quite small for 4 people but the twins were a great size.

The hotel is centrally located in a pedestrianised area and during a very cold spell in Madrid offered very warm and welcoming accommodation. There is a large supermarker very close by, ideal for provisions large and small. The hotel staff also proved very helpful and efficient.

Hotel is right in the city centre, perfect location. Beds weren't really comfortable though. No street noise, but could hear the people in the hallway pretty good. It's just that the location is perfect.

This hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to Playa Mayor, Puerta Del Sol, the marketplace, and many good restaurants. If you are there for a weekend be ready for a lot of street noise. I would mention 3 employees who are the best assets of this hotel. Rafael in the front desk was very friendly and very accomodating to us especially since we had to stay in Madrid for 10 days celebrating Christmas and New Year there. He expeditiously addressed our concerns regarding the room that was initially given to us and the heating as well. Orlando […] and Jose Luis in the breakfast rm do exceptional service as well. The other front desk employees especially the morning shift need to take a course in customer service. The 3 above mentioned employees helped make our Madrid vacation a memorable one. Les mer

Second time I have stayed in this hotel just love the location , breakfast and service. Nice shuttle to airport is great also.

Great place to stay if you want to walk around town then come back for afternoon break before going out again. lots of places to eat, shop, sightsee all right around the corner

The hotel is located near the Puerta del Sol with excellent shopping, restaurants, and sight seeing. Puerta del Sol is perfect for people watching. The hotel has a nice small bar/restaurant on the first floor. The room size was good compared to other hotels in the area. The only problem we had with the hotel was the a/c was not working. I found this Hotel to be in the perfect location just off Gran Via in the Puerta del Sol area of Madrid. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. It was a very quiet room although not all their rooms would be depending on where in the hotel they are situated. The air conditioning worked well and the staff were very helpful. My sisters and I stayed at the Best Western Hotel Carlos V from June 17 - 21, 3 adults in one room. We found our room to be clean, and had 3 single beds as we requested. Overall, comfortable with sufficient room. A 3 star hotel in US standards. Upside, it was steps away from Plaza del Sol, shopping, and within in walking distance to many of the attractions […] like the Palace, Prado, Plaza Mayor, etc. Metro stop is also a few yards away and will allow you to get to anywhere else in the city you would like. The night staff was pleasant, very helpful and accommodating, but the day staff was not as helpful. Downside, it was very noisey because we were in the middle of a very crowded area. There were people yelling at all hours of the night and you could hear the delivery trucks coming and going at all hours. It is across the way from their main department store, which had a rock band or DJ playing every evening and sometimes the area became very crowded. Better sound proffing of the hotel was needed. We had to pay a fee to use the in room safe, where every other hotel in Spain we stayed at, (3 others) the safe was complimentary. If you are looking for a location that is clean and comfortable but not fancy, in the middle of everything and you don't care about the noise and congestion, this is your place. Les mer

Good location. Very spacious rooms. Very clean. For some reason the hotel thinks it is acceptable in this day and age to charge for a safe! Worse of all, they advertise free Wi-Fi internet. We stayed at this hotel two different times on our visit to Spain. The first stay was in room 120 which was very small with eve a smaller bathroom. The window opened on a air duct and a swallow flew in on two different occasions when we had the window open. Because of the interior location the room was not affected by street noise. The second stay was […] in room 214 that we were given when I asked for a room with a tub. Much bigger and more comfortable than the first room, with large window and a Juliet Balcony that looked out on the street. This room was noisier, but more comfortable. Manuel, the day desk clerk was very helpful. Location of the hotel was central to all the tourist attractions and very lose to the Plaza del Sol Metro Station that served many of the subway lines. We stayed during the 1st week of April, we chose this hotel because of a combination of price and location. This hotel was everything I expected for the price. The location, 200meters from Plaza Sol, was perfect. Very easy to catch the subway or walk to the major sites. Hotel was clean and rooms were adequate size. Nothing fancy, but good for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful

Our cab had a hard time finding the hotel, so we were a bit nervous on the outset. But it was the cabbie and not the hotel, because it is located a block off the Puerta del Sol. EXCELLENT location in central shopping district and center of city, 1 block from Sol metro station, 5 minutes from Plaza Mayor, walking distance to the Prado and Thyssen museums. […] Staff helped with storing luggage while we went on a side trip, airline confirmations, and any other needs. Rooms are basic and clean. Nice sized bathrooms. Lovely common areas. Not luxurious but a good value. We were first given a room that smelled strongly of smoke. They changed the room immediately and we were pleased with the exchange. There is a nonsmoking policy at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was worth the price to start us on our long days of sightseeing with a substantial meal. Free wifi plus a computer in the sitting room. Quiet bar. Nice hotel. Covers all the basics well and is in a perfect location.

Very good hotel staff very friendly and helpful ie booking clubs info about area etc But .... Do not stay room 304 (our room)! Although very clean it was the smallest room I've stayed in and the window opened into a internal 'courtyard" and that cut out the light and magnified any one talking in other rooms. Hotel was increatable. It was right in the center of all the action. The only thing please do not take a room in the back facing the walls of the hotel and do not let your bed be next to the door, you hear all the steps of your naighbors. The staff was great, polite and very informative. Location is excellent and breakfast and bar area nice . the only problem is the room is very small and the bed quite hard . the bathroom was very clean - I enjoyed my stay in Madrid but had drinks at the bar breakfast - did not spend a lot of time in hotel . the people in the hotel were quite pleasant ... but the hotel.com did change my hotel dates […] which was really appreciated as my plans changed ...Thankyou Les mer

This is an old hotel which has been restaured in a very busy and noisy area right in the city center. For those who can accomodate the noise of the street and want to be in the city center, it's quite good. L'hôtel est très bien situé et calme. Il y a juste la climatisation qui fait pas mal de bruit et ne peut s'allumer que pendant que l'on est à l'intérieur de la chambre. Hôtel très agréable, calme, au coeur des sites touristiques à ne pas manquer à Madrid. Chambre triple spacieuse. Le personnel est très agréable et le buffet du petit déjeuner copieux et varié.

I marts kan det være koldt i Madrid. Hotel Carlos V kan også være meget koldt, især når hotellet lukker ned for centralvarmen om natten. Så vi frøs som aldrig før de 2 nætter vi var der. Morgenmads-buffeten var under al kritik. Der var ikke meget at vælge imellem, og flere fade (æg og bacon) var tomme, da vi kom og blev ikke fyldt op, mens vi var der. O hotel possui localizacao privilegiada no centro de madrid, proxima a lojas, restaurantes, bares e a estacao de metro. O quarto eh simples, mas confortavel e limpo, perfeito para quem nao quer gastar muito e ter um bom nivel de conforto. O banheiro, apesar de pequeno, estava sempre limpo. Hotellet er meget ordentligt, rent og hyggeligt. Personalet er virkelig interesserede i at man føler sig godt tilpas. Bortset fra en meget venlig og fint engelsktalende tjener i morgenmadsrestauranten, savnede vi engelsk talende medarbejdere - f. eks i receptionen.
