The room was clean and comfortable, however the air conditioner was set much to high and could not be changed. The service was very good and the staff was very friendly. Internet is not included and is a hastle to purchase. Overall my stay was nice and I would stay at this hotel again.

I am not experienced traveler. It was my second vacations in all life. I loved this place! It was paradise for me! I appreciate every moment that I spent in this hotel. It was a lot of funny contests, shows, games. I had no time to be bored. I will come back one day!

The best thing about this resort is the staff, they are super friendly and lots of fun. The worse thing about it is the food. I would stay again just because of the staff and don't mind losing weight from not eating.

Wow! As a person who has been to the DR over 50 times I feel this could top worst hotel in the DR yet. They just don't care. Underpaid, under managed, lack of commitment .....who knows but something needs to change. One clear example of so so many is three nights in a row of large black clumps of hair in both beds. I've never seen anything like it. […] The food you can't even explain! They have three places to eat but with out a 48 hr reservation you could only eat at the "all you eat" If I had more time I would go on but in short DON'T DO IT!!!!! Les mer

First off I have been to many hotels in the area and there are way to many employees who walk around all day. They are no where as nice as the other resorts in the area. It's hard to get comfortable at this resort with all the employees walking around looking lost, grounds crew mowing grass and the photo shop people bothering you all day. Pros: Beach, large rooms, balconies, incredible views, entertainment and activities, the ocean, the smoothies at breakfast and at check-in, good amenities. Cons: tried to take us aside for a sales pitch for their VIP club, the room had a strong mildew smell at first. This is a typical all-inclusive. The food is plentiful, although nothing to rave about. […] The hours of service were quite ample. There were organized activities for those wanting to join in. The room: During the sales pitch, they claimed they were a four star hotel, but we only had two bath towels and one hand towel and one washcloth for two people who were in and out of the water and showering often. The bed and pillows were in good condition. Everything in the mini bar was included: two cans of beer, a coke and a sprite -- that was it. There were all age groups visiting -- many Europeans, some Americans, few Dominicans. Staff were nice. Even with the complaints, I would go back again at the right price. UPON ARRIVING, I WAS UPGRADED TO A SUPERIOR OCEAN VIEW ROOM, WHICH I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE VIEW OF THE OCEAN. AS I ADVISED THE EXPEDIA REP WHEN I MADE THE RESERVATION, MY MAIN ROOM CRITERIA IS TO SEE THE OCEAN! I RETURNED TO THE FRONT DESK AND SPOKE TO FAUSTO. HE IMMEDIATELY GAVE ME TWO OPTIONS TO GO CHECK OUT WITH THE BELLMAN. WE GOT TO THE FIRST […] ROOM, A STANDARD OCEAN VIEW ROOM, WHICH I IMMEDIATELY MOVED IN TO. IT WAS THE SAME ROOM THAT I HAD STAYED IN SEVERAL CHRISTMASES AGO. NATY, THE PERSON ASSIGNED TO TAKE CARE OF MY ROOM TOOK BETTER CARE OF ME THAN MY MOTHER USED TO. BREAKFAST, LUNCH, AND DINNER WERE EXCELLENT AT THE CAYUCO RESTAURANT. YOGELY GREETED ME WITH A BEAUTIFUL SMILE AND AN EQUALLY ATTRACTIVE TABLE FOR EVERY MEAL! EVERY EMPLOYEE THAT I CAME IN CONTACT WITH WAS FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. I CAME TO REST AND UNWIND, BUT WAS ALSO TEMPTED BY THE BEACH TO INCLUDE IN A COUPLE OF LONG WALKS ON THE BEACH. Very good value. Although the appearance of hotel was impressive, some of features showed wear and tear. AC in my room was frigid. They came three times to fix it...but never did get it fixed. Had to turn of AC so I didn't freeze. Food was pretty good. Service and staff were very good.

Needs a bit of renovation , whole pool bar area flooded after torrential rain . I had to wade through one foot of water to return to my room . Also had water coming in through bathroom ceiling.

Staff were generally very helpful and courteous. Only down side is the aggressive timeshare staff that seem to be a part of the hotel so there's no getting away from them. A polite "no Gracias" does not work with these folks. The hotel itself was nice, lovely pool nice beach and nice rooms. The Entertainment in the day was very limited but the evening shows were brilliant, very professional, amazing dancing and the costumes and stage were fabulous. The main let down was the food, the three resaurants that you book separatly for were nice, the Gourmet the Mexican and Brizilian […] but the snack bar in the day and the main buffet restaurant in the evening the food was terrible, the choice was poor the food was cold and the quality was terrible, a massive let down, we just made sure we had a big breakfast! The Entertainment staff were great always friendly and happy even with the bad weather we had. The waiting staff - we had one lovely waitress and one nice waiter, no one else seemed to want to be there, usually we tip alot throughout the two weeks but hardly spent a Dollar this time. Les mer

room smell terrible, bathtub paint falling off, bottle of water,one soda and can of beer HOT,sitting on the table,pillow smell,room service were ignorant and when i checked out,they told me that i owed money for phones calls that i never did. one one bartender per bar and 20 people on line to get one beer

The internet was advertised free but it was NOT. The food was bland except for the Gourmet restaurant. The buffet was not worth the trip! I ate in the local economy for better food. The staff from the casino stationed at the entry of this hotel was disrespectful and RUDE. The casino is a RIP-OFF! The timeshare presentation is a bait and switch. I never […] received my concert tickets! The rooms were clean and the maid staff was the only high point on this visit. I may go to another island on my next trip. For those on a budget...there are buses that passes the entrance of the airport to the entrance of this hotel for 50 pesos...the $20-$30 usd price is a RIP-OFF. I've stayed at a few other resorts along the same strip, and Be Live Grand Marien, in my opinion, really surpasses the rest. My room was gorgeous and super clean! Pleasant staff that were always eager to help. The entertainment team was full of energy round the clock. The food was decent -- tasty but nothing that really stood out.

I truly enjoyed our time there. My husband and I have stayed in many resorts in DR and this is one of the best by far. Beautiful beach. The rooms are very clean and modern. I spent 6 days there on 4 different reservations. Originally I was very dissatisfied because of the people at the reception area. They were uncooperative and kept quotin rules that I did not know even existed. As the week went on, the service improved. The restaurants were excellent, especially the Brazilian one. I came here with my family of six in early September. We only have good things to say about the resort. We all had a wonderful experience. Rooms- We had standard rooms, those were gorgeous. The beds were spacious, there was a flat screen TV, a mini fridge, coffee maker and many other nice amenities. Not to mention the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and […] great AC. Food- The food was good, I personally preferred the Dominican buffet on saturdays. We only ate at the Buffet Restaurant and Snack Bar, we were definitely left satisfied! There are bars everywhere on the resort, and we all enjoyed the drinks they had to offer. Entertainment- Our family really enjoyed the entertainment. The shows at night were fun to watch and the games by the pool made us laugh. The entertainment staff was very charismatic and friendly! Pool- The pool is amazing. We all couldn't have enough. Beach- The beach was beautiful, although there was seaweed and some washed up on the sand, its still a beach, it belongs there. But that will definitely not deter you from enjoying the beach. DR offers the best beaches ever. Overall, the resort was relaxing, enjoyable and very pleasing. One tip is that it's emptier on weekdays because locals come in on weekends. They also have a casino, disco, spa, and gym on site if you're interested. It's also a great resort for couples. Les mer

I have lived in the DR for 4 years and have visited numerous hotels. I can honestly say this hotel was 5 stars for the DR as the beach was beautiful the ocean clean the room spotless the staff very attentive and more then anything eelse the food was better then average which is shocking

The hotel looks good, the staff is awesome , the food not so much. We stayed there for 1 week, and went to the buffet every morning for breakfast, but we only dine there twice. They mention they have 3 other restaurants avaliable , but only 1 opens every day. You must be at the front desk before 9 if you want to get a spot. If you get there at 10, you […] wont find no more space. I think they should open the 3 restaurants plus the buffet every day. The food at the cafeteria isnt good at all. I was very dissapointed about the food. Everything else is good. What we did, we went l for dinner to different local places. We found good food and the prices werent bad at all. But, what is the point of paying for all inclusive if you have to get out of the hotel to eat everyday???. I know for next time. The pool and the entertainment is very good, the beach is pretty. The stay was excellent, the only thing behind my living room had a residue of sewage that allowed me to go out to the balcony on that day, everything else is great, but I think that should solve the situation of having bad taste.
