"SECOND HOME"
We found our new retreat!! We were there with our teenaged sons, & all 4 of us were very comfortable & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We cooked breakfast & lunch, & drove the short 10 minute drive to the beach & ate there for dinner. My boys could not grasp the concept that this was considered a "hotel" so we basically gave up trying to convince them. […] They even walked to the skating rink next door. The only down side may have been the "fitness center." It could really use an update (but the purpose of our trip was not to go work out anyway). Also, the tv in the bedroom was incredibly small. again, that's not what we went there for. GREAT PLACE!!! Les mer
"Hotel rating"
The hotel staff was very nice and welcoming. The beds were really comfortable. On the other hand, the carpet was dirty and needed to be taken up throughout the entire hotel. My cousin who was in a room down the hall had a mouse trap under her kitchen sink. My room wasn't bad the only compliant I had was the carpet. Other than that it was good.

"Good Price"
Cayo Grande is really an apartment complex, but they use some of the building as a hotel. My hotel room was a one bedroom apartment and had a full kitchen with everything we needed (if we wanted to cook.) It also had a washer and dryer with a pull out sofa which was great for the kids. The mattress on the pull was very cheap and you could feel the springs, […] so we had to layer it with several sheets and two blankets. The bed in the bedroom was extremely comfortable. My friend stayed in the same room, but her room looked more like a hotel room. She did not have the full kitchen, pull out sofa, or washer and dryer. (She did book a hotel room with a pull out sofa, but this not what she was given). The location of the hotel was a little further than we needed to be in Destin, but Fort Walton Beach is not far. I would not stay here again because I prefer the location and look of Destin. The room was a great deal and had restaurants and stores close. Les mer

The beds in this hotel was absolutely the most comfortable bed I ever slept in... 2nd time there! Def be going back! Breakfast is real too, no do-nuts n coffee...lol. Loved it!!!!!! Full kitchen too!

I recently bokkked at stay at this Hotel, and was impressed. The "room" turned out to be basically a one bedroom apartment complete with a stacked washer and dryer, full kitchen, and all cookware and dishware. The only thing this hotel didnt supply was laundry detergent. The location unfortunatley isnt close to the beaches, but since I was in town for […] business wasn't an issue. I have stayed in condos that cost triple the price and had less quality and service. I will use this hotel EVERYTIME I return to Fort Walton from now on. Les mer

the hotel stay was great. very friendly staff. Not close to gulf but a wonderful room and decent breakfast. the price was right and the suite was very spacious. we're so happy to have stayed there and we think its the best kept secret in ft. walton.
The room was okay and the staffs were so stingy with everything you requested liked towels. Also in my room the AC was not working. Washed

I made reservation for a room which included a sleeper sofa after I checked in and realize the one bedroom apartment didn't have the sleeper sofa I requested I was told that they were totally book and if someone cancel I could get moved to another room didn't hear from anyone to help accomodate my family stay here

This is a great property. Super comfortable mattress with plush mattress pad and nice linens. BAth and body works toiletries, full kitchen with all the necessities and a stackable washer and dryer. Perfect!!!!! VERY CLEAN

was just what we wanted and the price allowed us to spend extra time with our family at Thanksgiving--full kitchen was great--washer was a little small but adequate--was hoping for warmer weather to swim but our grandchildren just love visiting Nana and Poppy in hotel--they think we live in one!!!!!! This hotel room was like a one bedroom apartment. It had everything you could need. We had a washer/dryer, stove, and a full size refrigerator. Their travel size soaps are from Bed Bath and Beyond. It was a pleasure staying there. My husband and I intend to stay there again next time we are in town.

It's hard to figure out where the hotel starts and the apartments end in this complex. In addition, the cafe where they serve breakfast was damaged when a pipe burst in the units above it. While the staff is making a concerted effort to adapt, the result is less than optimal. Front desk and housekeeping staff very friendly. We knew by previous reviews we could not check in before 3pm so we did sightseeing and arrived at 5pm. Room was clean and quiet. Cafe where breakfast was served was great except on weekend. Staff was bored and did not want to do much. Yogurt was 15 days outdated and argued it was still within the 7day […] period to consume. 3 days later expired yogurt back on serving table. The only real complaint was the sofa bed linens were never taken out to be cleaned. Sofa bed was used every night of stay. All around, would recommend hotel and would stay there again. Les mer
"Cayo Grande Suites are extremely comfortable"
Each suite has its own washer, dryer and kitchen which was very convenient. It was like a mini-apartment. The bed was soft and comfortable. The only negative that some may find was that you could hear the noise of traffic outside but that did not really bother me.

The staff were kind and professional. I enjoyed sleeping in a comfy bed away from home. NIce clean room. Only negatives were the AC in bedroom was loud and Tv remote was difficult to work.

I have been staying at Ccayo Grande on the Labor Day weekend for the past 5oe 6 years. Up until this year, I have been very satisfied. This year I had to pay a $50 convenience charge, which I have not gotten back yet after 8 days. I also had ants in my room. The complimentary breakfast used to be ordered and cooked; now it is out on a table in hot plates […] buffet style. Excellent accommodation for a 3* hotel at an average 3* price - we had a suite with full kitchen facilities, i.e. washing/drying machine, in-sink waste disposal unit ,dish washer etc etc, plus a sitting room and a bedroom with 2 large beds and TV in each room. It was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, including 3 or 4 hot items, and the cafe was […] open lunchtimes but not evenings. The only drawback was that it was not in a very good situation - the area was fine, it felt safe and going out was no problem but a car is definitely required both for reaching beaches and for restaurants etc. Unfortunately most places were just that bit too far to walk. There was a shopping centre at the end of the street (walkable) but for more variety you had to use your car. Les mer

The rooms were nice and well maintenced and extra clean. The landscaping was pleasurable along with a great breakfast buffet. ON my next trip to Florida I will defintely be staying there again!!!!!!!!!

Overall, this is a good hotel. The location is probably the only thing negative about it - it's on the outskirts of the city. No restaurants around it or anything. But the room itself is good and no problems there. The breakfast was decent though not excellent. Our building (a multi-building campus) did not have a pool but there are at least two other […] pools on the campus. Our room did not feature a patio - but the majority of the rooms on the campus do - so not sure what's going on there. The hallways had an interesting food smell that never disappeared while we stayed there. Overall however, you won't find too many issues with this hotel. Les mer
"You get what you pay for"
Room definitely needed updating and smelled of smoke even though it was advertised as a non-smoking room. We booked our stay for four people but only had two towels in the room; when we went to the front desk for more, we were not given enough and told what they gave us was all that they had in the hotel.

"Convenient to Hurlburt"
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Good pricing. Needed to extend my stay through another week, and they wouldn't allow me to due to the upcoming holiday weekend. They let me stay one more night.. We ultimately had to get a new hotel because if they didn't want our business we figured we'd take it elsewhere.

"Great place for family stay"
When we first got there, they saw our reservation, but it did not merge to their system for some reason. The manager on duty immediately took over and got us into a suite immediately. The bed was very comfortable. Everything in the room worked, although the dryer was very slow...it took 2-3 cycles to dry a load. It was stocked with all the dishes and […] linens we needed and was cleaned daily. We wanted the room with a full-sized fridge so we could make our own lunches instead of going out to eat. We were close enough to Destin to where we drove over every day. The money we saved by staying in FWB versus Destin was worth driving 15 minutes to get there. The pools were clean and well maintained. The hot breakfast was decent. The weekend girl was way better than the weekday lady at keeping up with the flow of people.Overall we had an excellent time and will definitely stay here again. Les mer
