"Wost experience in OC"
Only recommended if you are hearing impaired or don't mind the surround sound of every movement from the rooms left, right, above and below. In short: - very loud (thinnest walls, ceiling, and floors) - outdated interior from the 80's - DIRTY! (toilet had a yellow ring around where the water treads)
"trapped in a daycare center"
So, I scooped up the room at a great price for New Year's Eve, and chose the hotel since they had a tennis court and temps were to be in the 50's. Upon arrival, the hotel called itself the number one Family Resort in Ocean City, which meant it was crawling with badly behaved children and worse, their parents. The room was straight out of the 70's and […] the tennis court was unplayable since the back court was so short, you hit the chain link on a return. Fortunately a great restaurant, Jules, across the street saved the evening and free tennis courts at 90th street saved New Year's Day. Les mer
"Nice place"
Stayed for 2 nights prior to New Year's Eve with my wife and two kids. Room was nice, with a great view of the ocean. Steps to the beach. Ice skating rink was a neat feature. Hotel food was above average. Indoor pool was well-kept. Would stay here again.

The hotel lobby is great and that's about it the room was very small the bathroom was smaller not worth what I paid ill stick to staying at the Hilton

"The best place to stay in OC - Maryland"
We stay at this hotel all the time. We have stayed in the regular hotel rooms and have also rented personally owned condos from private owners for our family's summer vacation. Our kids love it there because of the ice skating rink. With a grocery store right across the street and close inexpensive restaurants, it's definately worth the stay!! The other […] thing we love is the building security and large parking deck next to the hotel for our oversized vehicle. Les mer
"curious leftover"
I stayed at the Carousel because I was attending a business function there. It wouldn't be my first choice in Ocean City. I like downtown better, where there's a boardwalk. In the Carousel there's an ice-skating rink in a poorly heated (not surprising, huh?) section of the hotel between the lobby and some of the rooms. The meeting rooms are adjacent […] to the rink and any functions that would normally be in a corridor (e.g. registration) are therefore out in the cold with the ice rink. I paid extra for an oceanfront room because the wide road and extensive blacktop parking lots visible from the other side of the building depress me. Some of my colleagues say that the hotel is poorly kept and musty. Maybe my standards are lower. I found it okay. Les mer

Our room was nice, plenty big and clean. the beds were comfortable and clean. Only complaint was that the bathroom was a bit small when two of us tried to use the mirror as the same time. A small issue and it didn't negatively affect our stay. I would go back in a heartbeat! And although we had a non-ocean side room, we could see the ocean from our […] balcony. It was great! Les mer

"Cautionary tale for October travelers"
This hotel seemed as presented mostly when we checked in. We had requested an oceanfront room and received that and on the first night everything was fine. On the second night, the Air Conditioning seemed to be not working and we complained and they gave us a fan saying that was all they could do at this time since their system was in neutral. I thought […] that meant they would fix it so we stayed. Then that night the temp in the room still rose past 80 even though we had the balcony door open all night and it was very hard to sleep. When we checked out we complained and were told that they shut down the a/c to that section every year. They gave no compensation, nor anything other than a sorry. I stated that they should tell guests prior to checkin so they can make an informed decision. Because I was traveling the rest of the week on an extended tour, and didn't call right away because I couldn't sit on hold until I returned home, they wouldn't adjust what I had paid. Les mer

"faulty air conditioner"
we turned on the air conditioner when we arrived and went to dinner. After returning, the air in the room looked dense. There was a slight electrical smell in the room. After we were ready for bed, the air conditioner made a loud bang like something large had fallen. We turned it off and opened the sliding door for the night, so in the morning, the […] room had cleared. When we reported it in the morning, the staff just said the air had already been turned off so it wouldn't have worked anyway. They didn't offer us any compensation for it. Les mer
My one night stay at the Carousel on Oct 7th was not bad. I was on the 4th floor with a parking lot view, just outside the indoor ice rink.The music from the rink was a little loud with the door propped opened. I closed the door only to have someone prop it opened again. Rooms were dated, but it was comfortable for one night. There was a small fridge, […] and microwave oven in the room which was convenient to have. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a car show in town, and all night you can hear the rumble of the old 60's car in the parking lot, pretty annoying. Les mer

Wonderful acomodations, great staff, could use some modernization. Pool area needs acoutical improvement and whirlpool renovations.

I was satisfied with this hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at the Carousel and the children really enjoyed the ice rink and the indoor pool. It was supposed to be a "non-ocean" side room, but we could see the beach from our balcony..Our room was very comfortable and we could control the A/C and heat, but we did hear some complaints from another family who were in a different building […] and their A/C was off in anticipation of a cold front coming through. It was close to lots of mini golf and shopping, so all ages of our children(6-20) had a great time. Les mer

Everyone was a fantastic help. And so friendly. The things in the Hotel kept my 1 year old Busy. It was a very relaxing, enjoyable, and a refreshing Vacation. Will go back again!

I loved the amenities of this hotel, although the rooms could use some updating. The ice rink was closed during the time we were there, but the pools and beach access were awesome. I had a lovely time with my family.

We returned for a late summer weekend and stayed in a nonocean view 2doubles. First, we were on the street side but since it was Biker Week and very loud we asked to be moved to the interior: within 5 mins someone was letting us into our new room--great service! We were at first disappointed the ice rink was closed since one reason we choose Carousel […] is for ice skating with our son. But, they had set up a kids play area with bouncy and all kids of balls so the kids could run and play for hours--it was great, wore him out! We did not go back to the onsite restaurant since we had a terrible experience there last time. (Try Blue Fish for great Japanese/Sushi). Overall our stay was adequate and what we expected. The hotel was very clean and the staff extremely helpful. The view from the room wasnt the best, but I came to go to the beach not sit in a room. We would definitely stay there again. The ammenities were great too.
"CAUROSEL -SLUM CONDOMINIUM"
STAYED IN A CONDO, HAD TO HAVE BEEN BETTER AT MOTEL 6 . iT SMELLED OF MOLD AND MILDEW. THE CARPET WAS DIRTY AND UNVACUMED. IT WAS DUSTY.

When we arrived at our hotel, the lobby gave us the impression that it would be a rather luxurious hotel. After a lengthy wait in line to get checked in, we went to our room. We were disappointed with the condition of the hotel. It looked old and the halls had a musty smell to them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The only complaint that I have is that we ended up with a room on the rooftop of the ice skating ring. The room had a balcony we could not use because that is where the birds would hang out. There was bird poop all around and even though people are told not to feed the birds, the people in the rooms above threw food down and we ended up with food dropping […] out side our balcony door and a bunch of birds surrounding. Other than that the hotel was nice, the room itself was nice and spacious and the hotel is in a great location. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again. "Very convenient though it needs a facelift."
I have been vactioning in O.C. and at the DE beaches my whole life (I'm a 43 year old father of two pre-teens). My son and I stayed at Carousel this summer and really enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, the restaurants, mall and other places that were so close. The beds were small (two doubles in the room) so if my wife and duaghter were with us, […] it would have been a bit cramped. Only one negative: I notices small fruit flies in the bathroom and then around the kitchenette area. I can;t stand a room with any type of bugs so this was an issue for me and downgraded my experience which otherwise was very positive. Les mer
"No internet - Bad bathrooms"
There really is no internet in most of the rooms, you can get connected in the lobby but its very slow. The bathroom has a horrible design, no shelves to put your towel or personal stuff, No barrier from the shower, so the water runs all over the bathroom.

Excellent family resort, felt totally comfortable with our 2 yr. old, would love to return on our next stay in Ocean City.
"Decent"
The hotel was decent. The location was fine. Actually, we went downtown only one day and didn't stay very long at the main boardwalk. The beach resort had it's own private beach area with bar and outdoor restaurant that was convenient. The condition of the room was aged but I could tell that the oceanfront rooms were better maintained.

All good. Good spot, plenty of parking, pool ok. Nice fitness and indoor pool. Not huge pools, but OK. Good beach spot, easy hose off. Food being right there is convenient. Nice spacious room for price. No complaints. Good value for price.
"Great for families with kids, but nothing fancy"
We were one of 2 families with small kids for a 2 night stay during the week--a must in the summer. The Carousel was busy but not obnoxiously crowded. Staff were pleasant and check in/out very quick. Elevators take a while during peak times, but we were on 3rd floor so took the stairs, even kids did not mind. The pools are nice but hot tub is small […] and cramped. Service at the outside grill is very, very slow and food is mediocre but we only ate there once. Overall, you cannot beat the location on the beach and the ice skating--though rooms right above the rink can be very loud. We got upgraded to a partial ocean view room with balcony at no extra cost even though we did not book directly with the hotel--nice! Les mer

I love staying at the Carosel and anytime I go down to OC, that's where I choose to stay. My only complaint is that if you stay on the first four floors around the ice rink area, it can be very loud. They keep the music on inside that area and outside at the grill. While, it does turn off at 10 it can be distracting as the rooms are not very sound proofed. […] On the other hand, the view from the ocean front rooms is beautiful and it is located right on the beach. The hotel is located close to 120th street and is far enough away from the crowds, but still close enough by car or bus to the boardwalk and other activities. I will definitely stay here again. Was actually a little better then I had thought, though I did go in with low expectations. Hotel was decent and pretty kid friendly. Daughter had a good time, so that made ours.

THough the facilities are showing their age abit, the location on the beach, and the pools, ice rink and dining make it a great place to stay with young children. My kids loved the place, and we had a great time.
