InterContinental Real Metrocentro Managua - Managua

Vi hadde en liten weekend i Managua før vi reiste videre i Nicaragua. Hotellet var av meget høy klasse, med herlig komfort og service. Vi benyttet mye tid ved bassenget, og uteområdet var veldig rent og fint. Flott restaurant med buffet hver kveld, og servicen var veldig bra over hele linjen. Never heard a desk clerk say the room wasn't ready at 5 pm. You want slow? You want to stand there 15 min while desk clerk multitasking on phone etc? A small hissy fit and sudden upgrade to 8th floor. Rooms nice. Pool very nice. Generally what you'd expect. Mall across the street for any need, ATM, cheap breakfast if that's what you're after. I saw […] good-looking bed and breakfast establishments, but the first arrival in a new country late at night, by females traveling solo sometimes calls for the safety standard. All good there. Excelent Hotel at a secure location

For the intrepid or tepid traveler to Nicaragua and the city of Managua, the Hotel Intercontinental offered all that US travellers can wish for. The staff spoke varying degrees of English but generally perfectly acceptable. The hotel offered all the U.S. style amenities and luxuries including a nice pool, a relaxing bar area, a comfortable breakfast, […] mini-bars in the room and clean exacting rooms. The staff was generally very helpful though check-in, check-out is a bit lengthy, particularly if you use hotels.com or another third-party purchaser for your room. The one particularly downside to these amenitieis/luxuries is the price. With the U.S dollar / Nicaraguan Cordoba exchange in the US dollar favor, you wouldn't know it by staying at this "westernized" property. Prices were "hotel-standard" from the breakfast to mini-bar amenities and the expensive internet access. Pricing aside (you get what you pay for!), the hotel is an oasis of the Central American poverty. For those "missing home", a shopping mall is directly across and easily [sic: safely] walkable from the hotel. Bank opportunities to exchange monies exist there as well. Les mer

Nice hotel right next to the mall and across the street from a McDonalds. Friendly and helpful staff. Only negative was the price of drinks at the bar. $11 for a glass of rum. Same rum was $3 at the Hilton down the street. Room was very comfortable and the pool was nice

I have traveled thought-out the world staying in many Inter Continental Hotels being a Preferred Member, I was very surprised on how nothing work at this hotel. Door lock shutting down forcing me to go get the key to work, Internet slow and expensive, along with in-room movies. In today's world Internet wireless should be a comp...not charged 16.00 […] per day and it is slow. Check-out on the Television did not work as well. You can stay at the Hilton or the Crown Plaza for lower cost and all the rest fro free, Like Internet and many other items....The room and the Bed are same quality and the Dinning as well. Stay away from the Inter-Continental Shark PIT!!!!! Les mer

Our family had a great time in Nicaragua. This hotel is in the middle of all the interesting sights. We brought our 2 teenagers boys. The hotel is right across the street from a wonderful shopping mall. The best part of this vacation is that we got to know a wonderful tour guide that the hotel helped us get. He spoked English very well. Without this […] tour guide we wouldn't be able to get around. If you don't speak the lanuage, you would be lost. The Intercontinental in Managua was wonderful. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were very comfortable, neat . Bar was welcoming and snacks excellent. Nearby mall was convenient. Mangua is poor, so is Nicaraqua and surrounding neighborhood shows it. but we would go back to this hotel anytime and recommend it to anyone. And the price was great. Thank […] you Les mer

Very nice hotel and excellent service. This is what serevice attitude is all about. Every hotel staff memeber working to create the most pleasant hospitality experience. My only recommendation for the hotel would be to make internet service free.

After 3 weeks of traveling from Panama to Nicaragua we needed a hotel for just one night in Managua so we could catch our flight home the next morning. We took the express bus from Granada and to my surprise their Metrocentro stop is right in from of the hotel. Check in was easy, the staff was friendly, and the big comfortable beds, pillows and plenty […] of hot water were so welcome after our long trip. The mall is across the street if you are so inclined, and there are at least 5 decent bar/restaurants to choose from within walking distance. Plus there is a market a block away to buy all your Flor de Cana rum to take back home. The hotel provides an airport shuttle, but will also pop you into cab driven by a hotel employee in no time flat for a quick 12 minute ride to the airport. Les mer

Also, had my credit cards stolen so had no way to pay for incidentals having prepaid only for the room. The management worked with American Express to extend me enought credit for any charges. Very professional and courteouls.

Always a good choice. Clean, new and safe. Great bar, friendly staff, convenient location. Highly reccomend this Intercontinental property.
