Rommet var veldig slitent. Fikk ikke opp vinduet, badet var dårlig og slitt. Fikk ikke varmt vann. Fin forkost og god mat i restauranten.

Flott hotell i eldre og klassisk stil. Perfekt beliggenhet og god service. Lun og dempet atmosfære. Noe slitt, men det hadde ingen betydning for helhetsinntrykket. Kan klart anbefales.

Lett å komme til byen. Trivelig hotell. Helt grei frokost.

Fikk et rom først som ikke var bra. Veldig gammelt bad og mye støy fra naborommene. Gulvet var også veldig skjevt. Klagde og fikk et nytt rom som hadde mye bedre standard. Nyere, bedre bad og mindre støy. Frokosten var bra. Standard irsk frokost i en restaurant i kjelleren. Baren og restauranten ble oppusset i 2011 og var veldig koselig. Live musikk […] hver søndag med god stemning. Hvis du skal bo her, bør du spørre etter et rom i den nyere delen av hotellet. Veldig stor forskjell på standarden. Ellers et greit hotell med god beliggenhet i toppen av O'Connell Street. Les mer

This is one of the best low-price range hotels I've stayed at. The staff was friendly in a quiet sort of way. The building is somewhat worn, but everything was clean and tidy, My single en-suite room was spacious and comfortable, with a big bed, closet, desk and coffee table. Hairdryer. If I should mention a few drawbacks: it took the water in the […] shower forever to get warm (plus the pressure was very low), and the electric water boiler in my room didn't work. However, I can't say neither of this ruined my stay. The hotel is central, and you can get anywhere and back quickly. Very short walk from and to airport bus stops in O' Connell Street. My room had a window facing Gardiner Street (near corner to O' Connell), and that turned out to be quite noisy (also at night). It didn't bother me, but if you have trouble sleeping through noise you should probably ask for a room facing the backyard. The best breakfast I've had in a hotel of this price range. There's Full Irish and Contintental (cereals, fruit, yoghurts, cold meat and cheese), but you can combine and ask for whatever you want from the two. When you ask for toast you also get brown bread, which I (being from Norway) particularly appreciated. All in all, this hotel is warmly recommended to the traveler with a budget. Les mer

Hotellet er som en stor labyrint. Anbefales ikke for den som har problemer med å bære kofferenten opp og ned trapper. Det er heis der, men du må fortsatt regnere med ett par trapper før du er på rommet. Standarden er god og veldig typisk "engelsk" med tykke vegg til vegg tepper og en litt gammeldags stil. Hvis du er glad i english breakfast (eller irish, […] som de kaller det her) er dette rett plass. Det er også alternativer for de som vil ha en noe lettere start på dagen. Dette hotellet har både oppsider og nedsider. Det held det som blir lovt på nettsidene, og du får sove uten støy. Resepsjonsbetjeninga har mykje og gå på når det gjeld service. Virkar mest opptatt av seg sjølve. Frokostbetjeninga er derimot nokre veldig kjekke damer. Bra med kafffi på rommet og fri internet. Kan få adapter på hotellet.

Svært skuffende hotellopphold fordi det var meget støyende fra trafikk på tross av at vinduene var igjen. Ikke mye søvn. Ingen hårføner på rommet, måtte kjøpe en. (rom 215 og 216) Telefonen på 215 virket ikke.

Hotellet ligger i passe gangavstand til sentrumsområdene og alle de fasiliteter som finnes. Flott park ved siden av.

our room on the 3rd floor back, was very noisy early in the am. Otherwise, comfortable, good breakfast and lovely helpful people. Would stay again for sure.

First time in Dublin and would definately go back again to The Castle Hotel. Took the green Dublin bus from the airport which cost €10 return which lasts for up to 3 months, was very convenient as it stopped about one street down from the hotel. Was greeted by the reception staff who was pleasant. We was in room 316, first impression was small but beautifully […] decorated, clean, modern and everything we needed, which made up for the size of it, plenty of tea /coffee in room, cleans towels, hairdryer and soaps etc. One critism with the room was when you sat at the dressing table you couldnt use the mirror as it was on the side, bit strange as it didnt have much use there. The location was fab, close to O'connell Street and easy access to other areas as bus stops were close for the sightseeing bus and taxis was always available. We managed to walk everywhere we wanted to go, go to the Guinness Storehouse weel worth a visit. Food in the hotel was very nice we ate in the restaurant the first night, very pleasant, 3 men playing traditional irish music. Breakfast was manic, went about 9.15am both mornings, waitresses rushing about, had to wait for tables to be cleared to be seated, seemed to be not enough seating for the amount of people staying, but the irish breakfast was lovely and started our day a treat. Overall the hotel was great suited our needs and would go back again. Les mer

Very heppy with my stay here. The rooms are smaller that the big commercial hotels but they were clean and comfortable. The location is fabulous as O'connell street is only one street away! The staff were really helpful and pleasent and the bar downstairs was definite for any tourist in town!

When I travel I prefer to stay at local hotels and not the chains. This Irish jewel was a great fine. The staff is fantastic., the location was great, the food was out standing, and the Irish music on the week-ends just added to the whole experience. I work for the airlines and I have traveled the world. I've stayed in five star hotels that haven't […] been as much fun as my stay at the Castle. The Hotel is across the road from the Garden of Rememberance. The staff are exceptionally nice. I emailed the hotel before our arrivea with a few questions and they were very helpful. From this first interaction I felt good about my choice and this continued until we left. There's good and not so good about our experience. Our room was quite chilly until they gave us an electric heater. The room was very noisy and one could easily hear street conversations and traffic - especially Saturday evening drunken conversations were quite disconcerting when trying to sleep. The breakfast was excellent and the lounges were comfortable […] in an old fashioned way decorated for Christmas. The staff was attentive if you asked for something. The location is just uphill from downtown, an easy walk. We didn't try their resturant so can't comment on that. Just get a room away from the street to keep the noise level down and hopefully get a less drafty room. Positives- the hotel is in a good location and is close to all the main attractions, restaurants and bars. Negatives- the decoration is very tired and old, the rooms are in serious need of modernization. The rooms could be cleaner. Over all we had a most enjoyable stay. Our room was basic and clean and the hotel itself is very convenient to the city centre. You should request a room at the rear of the hotel as the noise level at the front can keep you awake. Breakfast basic, but good quality. The staff were most helpful and attentive to any request. My stay was definitely a positive experience. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The room was really beautiful and furnished in an old, elegant manner. The history that the building had was made evident by the stories, old folk songs and paintings framed on the hallways. The hotel's own pub & restaurant were top notch, too. The only drawback […] about the old building was the lack of insulation; sound traveled easily through the thin walls. Excellent location only a few minutes walk to O'Connell Street. Staff very friendly. Edwardian building so old and therefore atmospheric although plumbing was a little unreliable but live Irish Music played in bar 3 times a week. Car parking very limited and not easy to access.

Very nice hotel, clean and very tasteful rooms, really enjoyed our stay there. Close to city center and Temple Bar, so good location too.

Were a family of three and when we first arrive our room was a disgrace. Flies, spiders, untidy and really small. Not very good for a 3 year old or a pregnant woman. Fab hotel for the price. Staff are the most friendly I have ever come across. Great breakfast sets you up for the day with Dublin's sights just a short stroll away. Rooms are very clean and functional.

The Hotel was easy enough to find and convenient to O'Connell street a 1 minute walk, which allowed us to park the car at the Hotel's car park, and walk into the busy town centre. We were a little disappointed with the car park, which was tiny and cars had to be moved to get your car in and out. You left your keys at reception who then had the ability […] to move your car if required. If you're not a confident driver you would have difficulty getting into this car park, parking and ultimately getting back out again without a scratch or dent. The Hotel was a little noisy at night, we heard doors banging and people footstep[s up until 2am which was very annoying. Have used this hotel before and was very impressed by the total modernisation carried out in recent past One small complaint. My room which was of a high standard,but overlooking a main street tended to be noisy as there was no double glazing, hopefully this will be rectified in future

Traveled with my 6 & 8 year old kids. This hotel was close to main attractions (walking distance). The family room had 4 single beds and while not fancy served its purpose. The hotel looks to be old apartment buildings which were joined together and made into a hotel. It had a nice homely feel to it.

Internet didn't work. Moved us to new room. Access was spotty. Parking was closed due to Queen's visit. Made us pay for external lot parking even though "parking was included." Remote batteries were dead. Took them almost an hour to deliver batteries to us. Rooms all need some rehab. Hotel is old and beautiful. Could be great.

Really good spot, close enough but not too close to central Dublin. 10 min walk from the river and 15 from temple bar area. 40 min walk from the guiness factory. The staff were very friendly and the rooms had everything you could need. Modern facilities and a huge shower that was amazing, perfect to wake you up after a night in temple bar. Recommend […] trying the hotel for a meal, really good price in comparison to Dublin expensive restaurants and they have some good set menu prices, plus the food is delicious! This is probably one of the worst hotel I have stayed in years. The rooms were not ready until about 2:30. The staff is not helpful. But I can get over all that. The problem is that it is impossible to sleep in this hotel, not because of outside noises, but because the wood floors are so noisy that you can hear everystep taken in your floor and the […] floor above. Don’t go to this hotel if you except a spa hotel. Long way to go and a lot of stairs, my mom is 81 and she couldn’t go there. You have to bring all your clothes and put them in a tiny box in the spa area. More like a swimming hall than a spa. We got no dressing gown. Nice personal and food. Good breakfast.

Staff very friendly and helpful and indeed the owner made a point of introducing himself. The hotel is in a Geogian terrace and full of interesting features and furniture but the room was a little cluttered and two light bulbs were missing in the bedside lamps. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was warm and comfortable. The dining room for breakfast was very busy, but we were still made feel welcome and our needs were catered for.

Enjoyed our stay, lovely Georgian Building. Perfect location for a weekend break, only short walk from O' Connell Street. Umbrellas available to borrow. Liked the breakfast, good selection. Warm room, good decor and modern bathroom.

The hotel is a short walk to the main sights in city centre and Hop On Hop Off bus stops. The only complaint we have in regards to our room was that the bathroom door did not close. Go when it is cooler as the rooms are not air conditioned. For those arriving in Dublin at Heuston Train Station, there is an Airlink bus to the airport.

Within walking distance of O'Connell Street this hotel was ideally suited to myself. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
