Hotel Vilamari - Barcelona

Veldig bra hotell: + Fine rom + God seng + Super beliggenhet + God service - Glassdør inn til badet, ikke noe for de som ikke tåler å høre lyder fra badet.

Hotellet ligger sentralt til i forhold til buss og metro, noe som er reisemåtene i en by som Barcelona. 5 min på beina før du er på placa Espanya hvor det er metro og bussplasser. Ligger svært greit til i forhold til Camp Nou og Barcas hjemmekamper (kun tre metrostopp i fra). Flott standard og er ordentlig og nytt. Hyggelig personale.

Hotelt er meget sentralt ifohold til Metro'en ca 3-4 min gåavstand. Det er to linje (rød og grønn) som går fra metrostasjonen, og med disse to kan man nesten reise overalt. Den store fontenen ligger også i nærheten v/ den store rundkjøringen. Du finner også bussen som kjører til flyplassen her. Tar ca 15 til flyplassen og kjører ca.hvert 10 min tror […] jeg det var. Anbefales! Ellers er personalet veldig hjelpsomme. snakker engelsk. Vaskes hver dag. Gratis mini bar- topp. Tyrkisk bad er bare en liten badstue rom - var ikke noe særlig. Fint rom! Bad/toalett meget fint. ulempe er fross glass til toalett/bad inn mot rommet- stillig men ikke helt festlig hvis du skal sitte på do.. Les mer

Supert ho9tell, topp service og god beliggenhet.

Supert hotel til ok pris, med en beliggenhet som passer bra i fht å gå hvor som helst i Barscelona, evt ta buss, t-bane eller turitbuss, som alle går fra Placa España. Minibaren (dog uten alkohol) samt WiFi var inkludert i prisen, mens den dyre frokosten ikke ble testet, fordi det var en super "BraCafe" over gata med billig frokost. WiFi'en fungerte […] dog bare i fellesområdene, ikke på rommet. Hotellet hadde også SPA-avdeling med Tyrkis bad, som også var inkludert i prisen, men rakk ikke å teste dette. Les mer

Hotellet var fint. Lå litt utenfor de hotteste stedene. Ca 2,5 km til havna og La Rambla. Fin gåtur dit men litt lei etter en uke med gåing. Rommene var små men fine, veldig lytt ut i gangen, samt at døren til badet ( do) var glass dør og det var veldig lytt dit også

Nice hotel, perfectly situated; out of the busiest centre, but close to metro, National Art Museum of Catalanya etc. Small but fine rooms, good breakfast, excellent service, especially reception! A bit loud between rooms, though, but the staff tried their best to make things better when some partygoers were too loud.

Stayed 2 nights prior to boarding a cruise. Even though we arrived early, they held our bags without hassle until our room was ready. Room was very cleaned, just a bit small (although normal for Europe). All staff spoke very good English. Great location as it is located just two blocks from Plaza Espana where you can catch a tour bus that will take […] you all over Barcelona. We walked to Las Ramblas in a leisurely 20 minutes and there is an oversized walkway that runs the length of the walk that is lined with georgeous Sycamore trees. Everything was perfect (rooms, breakfast, comfort, placement, service), only technical service is an area for improvement (wi-fi is available only in small area in lobby)

The location is good for connection to El Prat Airport, as one of the stops on the Airport Transfer bus (9.75 euros return) (Place D'Espanya) is about 300 yards away. The Place D'Espanya is a main station on the cities metro system and Las Ramblas is only a couple of stops away as is the Place De Catalunya. Don't bother with breakfast at 15 Euros, there […] are plenty of cafes nearby much cheaper.The rooms are small and the whole hotel seems to be geared more to business use rather than leisure. Free soft drinks in the room fridge are a nice touch and servicing of the room was good and toiletries replaced on a daily basis. We only stayed for three nights and personally I think the hotel is set up for short stays - if you are staying any longer I would look for another hotel with more recreational facilities. Les mer

Staff very friendly and helpful; free minibar was unexpected bonus; highly recommended!

room was clean, comfortable and basic. No safe in room, but there was a private safe available at the front desk. free internet in lobby.....but it was weak. Good service and friendly. NICE area. Close to subway and restaurants.

This hotel was perfect for our requirements while we were in Barcelona. There are a couple of attractions within walking distance that people might be interested in but it is far enough away from the main tourist areas so that you are not disturbed by the noise and general crowding that affects those areas. It is very convieniently located for access […] to the excellent public transit system which can get you to any of the major attractions within 1/2 hr.or so. They also have undergroud parking on site which is quite rare should you be foolish enough to try to drive around there. Perhaps if you are coming from outside Barcelona it makes sense to drive there and park and use the transit system to get around locally but unless you are really familiar with the city I would not recommend trying to drive around there. The rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. All the dealings we had with members of the staff were very positive for us. Without exception they were helpful and courteous and either spoke very good English or immediately got someone who did to help us. Their advice on directions to the attractions we wanted to see and instructions on how to access and use the transit system were absolutely spot on. We had no problem at all getting around quickly and cheaply. The area around the hotel had lots of reasonably priced cafes, bars and restuarants with wonderful food and drink. Just one block down and one to the left there was a good sized supermarket with as much selection available as you would find anywhere. A 5 min. walk in the other direction will get you to a major shopping mall that is much nicer than most similar facilities in North America.The Joan Miro Park and Museum are right next to this mall. The courtesy minibar in the the room was a really nice touch and demonstrates the hotel's concern to make their guests as comfortable as possible and also came in handy for keeping the fresh friut we bought at a small local market nice an Les mer

We were positively surprised when we got to the hotel considering how much we were paying for it. The hotel and rooms are very nicely furnished and maintained. It feels very new. The location near Plaza Espana is great if you don't want to stay right downtown, where hotels will be more expensive and noisier. There was very easy access with the metro […] and to/from the airport with the Aerobus. You can also walk to Plaza Catalunya in about 15-20 minutes. The staff was also very helpful when we asked for restaurant recommendations several times. The room was not large, but big enough to put a couple suitcases. It was nice touch that they had a fridge with free drinks that they restocked daily. Les mer

Located in a quiet neighbourhood, very close to a metro stop with easy access to all the city sights. I would recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel is ok, but based on my experience is not at a 4 star level. It's location is excellent if you're going to a convention in the Fira (only a 300m or 5 minute walk away). However, this is let down by the poor customer service. I booked 7 rooms a year in advance to attend a conference. I confirmed the rooms 8 months in advance. 2 weeks before […] I was due to travel, I rang to change one of the dates for the room and was told that 5 of my party were being moved to a 3 star hotel. With only 2 weeks notice, we were given the choice of move or cancel our booking. This was all done in a polite but unengaging manner. I suspect if I had not contacted the hotel, we would have arrived and been walked to the other hotel without any notice. In addition, Hotels.com were not notified of the change. When I arrived at the hotel, both my colleage and I were given rooms with indoor windows looking across at a hallway and an elevator. The rooms were clean, but very small (I had to step over the toilet to get into and out of the shower). The breakfast was mediocre, and the hotel had no iron or ironing facilities (which is not good for business travel). The attitude of the hotel was that they didn't care about me or my party because they had bigger bookings who clearly took precedence. However as a frequent traveller with a wide network, I certainly won't be recommending this hotel because of their attitude. I would say it's a reasonable 3 star property, but only use it if you're attending the Fira. Les mer

Hotel Vilamari was absolutely worth of every penny! The location was excellent with metro stop round the corner. Room was clean, bathroom cleaner. Breakfast was over rated but several different palces to get breakfast just outside the hotel. Free minibar absolutely big plus after long day in the city. Service was not that excellent but we didn't need […] anything but the room key, so it was fine. If you don't need to stay next to Rambla, I absolutely recommend Vilamari! Les mer

We stayed at the Vilamari for a romantic weekend getaway and were pleasantly surprised. The feeling of comfort and relaxation was apparent as soon as we walked into the lounge. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the minibar held free drinks! Also appreciated the complimentary use of the steam room after a long day of walking around the sites! […] The only drawback for me was the lack of privacy in the bathrooms due to the glass doors - you'd want to go with someone you know very well!!! Having said that, glass bathroom doors seem to be characteristic of many Spanish hotels!!! Les mer

This hotel was good in many ways, but certainly had its downfalls. The location was great with only a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro stop. The overall appearance was very modern and clean, which I like. The bed was so-so, but I'm picky. In comparison to other AC hotels, I was disappointed. There was almost no closet space/or a place to store suitcases. […] The bathroom door was by far the weirdest part of the room. It was a very thin, foggy, glass door that did not seal off. And not to mention, when we ran the air conditioner (which cooled perfectly) a very strange smell filled the room. The "solution" we were offered was to turn the air off. Everything else would have been bearable, but due to the disgusting smell from the air conditioner, I'm not sure I would recommend staying here in the warmer months. Les mer

We stayed at 3 different hotels during our time in Barcelona: Hotel Vilamari, the W, and Hotel Silken Ramblas. Hotel Vilamari was a good hotel. Nothing fancy. But it was clean, provided free beverages (water, soda, etc.), had free wifi in the lobby, and was overall just a good hotel. Nothing special, but I would definitely stay there again. Good hotel, room a bit small but it was clean, staff were friendly and it was very quiet. It was a 20 min walk from Las Ramblas, but we enjoy walking so that was not a problem. It was close to some other tourist sites anyway. Did not have the breakfast so can't comment on that. All in all I would recommend it to a friend.

Pros: The hotel is modern and very clean. Staff is helpful and speak English. Location is convenient. Cons: My room was advertised as full-sized bed but was actually two very small twin beds pushed together. Room service menu is very limited.

5 minutes' walk to the metro, aerobus station, plaza espanya; free mini-bar in the room, shower is perfect, nice hotel staff can speak good english...overall, highly recommended hotel in Barcelona, will doubtlessly stay here next time.

For the price that 2 young students visiting Barcelona for the week were willing to pay we were pleasantly surprised with the decor, location, general cleanliness of the room and exceptionally helpful staff on reception. The room was compact but with a sizeable shower room. In terms of storage we were a little disappointed as the wardrobe wasn't deep […] enough, although you could hand clothes front facing, however there were no other forms of storage such a chest of drawers. The free soft-drinks in the mini-bar was fantastic and was restocked daily which was a really nice touch, it was also big enough to put you own food/ bottles of water in which really helped. Room service were great and would never question a request no matter how out of the ordinary. Reception were always happy to help and spoke very good English, no question was too stupid however they never came across as patronising. They had good knowledge of Barcelona, but also of the surrounding area which really helped at the beginning of our stay as we were becoming familiar with the transport system etc. as this was our first stay in Barcelona. Overall a fantastic hotel at great value for money, however just needs some better storage.. Would definately recommend! Les mer

we stay at this hotel and the plus was the free mini bar but what let me down was the review said that it had internet but no computer.

This hotel is modern, clean and corporate. The staff are well represented and helpful. It is not hard to find and good value for money. Only downsides - Noise tends to carry although this affected my other half and not me. This is due to the wooden floor It is about a 30 minute walk to La Rambla, although there is a metro just nearby in Place Espanya […] and you can also get the bus tours from here. We enjoyed the walk each morning as the neighborhood is fine and we used to stop for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to both business and pleasure alike Les mer

It is very close to Plaza de Espana and other must see sights. Very good location, free wifi at the bar and free soft drinks in the room's minibar everyday. Very clean room, a bit noisy from the street. If you are a non smoker make sure you ask for a non-smoking room before arrival. We have not tried any meal at their restaurant, there are plenty of […] other places and supermarkets around. Les mer

Only issue I had was with the air conditioning which in August was not up to the required power. I changed rooms after 1 day which was a little better but if this was all you had in the far east you would be in some discomfort

Only stayed overnight, but the room was small but very clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment. Free minibar, with some soft drinks in it. Friendly and helpful reception staff. The room was a bit too small for a longer stay.

The location was perfect and the room was clean. An unexpected bonus was the free water and soda pop in the bar fridge. A nice touch that was very much appreciated. I was especially impressed with the courteous manner in which they precessed my room change request. Upon discovering we didn't have a non-smoking room, we requested a new room and they […] gave us the first available one, without any hesitation or fuss. My wife and I stayed at this hotel the day before the flight back to the USA - it was clean, inexpensive for Europe and came with a welcomed free mini fridge with refreshments. It was centrally located for sight seeing and restaurants. Parking was included underneath the hotel but spaces are small and you have to be careful navigating the tight garage […] exit. The hotel room was smallish but then again you're not there in Barcelona to hang out in the room. The staff was courteous and responded to our needs. The bathroom came with soaps, razor/cream and toothbrush/paste. No true partition for the shower so don't flail around and your water will stay in the bathtub/shower area ;) - we will definitely stay at another AC hotel if this hotel is any representation of the chains quality to value ratio! This hotel really is a 4 minute walk from the Plaza Espanya. Unfortunately, other than the Plaza there is not a lot as far as restaurants and other attractions close to the hotel. However, there is a public transport line right there in Plaza Espanya that quickly links you to Plaza Catalunya and other major sights. The staff of this hotel were extremely […] friendly and the sodas/water in the mini bar are free. I did not attempt to use the wi-fi but I am pretty sure there was a charge for that. Either way, this hotel exceeded expectations. For Europe, the rooms are actually a nice size. The only downfall of the room is that the door to the bathroom is a clouded glass which you can still more or less see through. This can be awkward if you're traveling with someone you don't know that well. This hotel is also really secure. After hours they lock the front door and you have to ring the bell for access but they open it immediately so it is not an inconvenience at all. I'd definitely recommend this place! Les mer

The staff great - spoke English well and very helpful. the room was on the small side but perfect for me it was clean and very comfortable. Location was good - I was all over the city mostly on foot - what a beautiful city !

As this trip was for business, I booked the room based upon locatoin and rating; both were as anticipated. Internet access, free in the lobby, was weak to non-existant; as in most of the European hotel community, paid access (in the room) was expensive. Hotel was great! The room size was sufficient for our needs and the bathroom was good size for European hotels with a very large shower. Complimentary drinks in the fridge were a nice touch as well (1x coke, 1x diet coke, 2x Fantas, 2x water, 2x sparkling water replenished each day by the maids). Gym was small, offering only a treadmill and two bikes. […] Everything was in good working order though and fine. Hotel staff was excellent and they all spoke amazing English. Very helpful and knowledgable staff. Helped us find different sites in town, called a cab for us for the following morning and were pretty well informed on anything we threw at them. Hotel is located about two to three blocks from Plaza de Espanya with accompanying metro and bus stops. Very convenient for public transportation. As well, the Magic Fountain is only a five minute walk away, making its late evening entertainment extremely accessible. Theres also a small grocery store two blocks up the street from the hotel which would have been convenient had we stayed longer. Price was very reasonable and well worth every dime. Would definitely stay again and are, in fact, recommending this to a couple of friends planning a trip to Barcelona currently. Les mer

This hotel is located near Plaza de Espana and close to Montjuic, both must sees while touring Barcelona. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. There are places to eat nearby. The staff was very friendly. The room was medium size with a medium size but nice bathroom, very modern. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet and clean. We had a great three night stay at the AC Vilamari. Would absolutely recommend staying here. Wished the hotel staff had been a little more knowledgable or helpful in how to get around or places in the area. The breakfast is nice (a bit expensive) and it's a short walk to sites and the metro which will get you all over the city.

This is a great 4 star (by European standards) hotel in Barcelona. It's located only 2 blocks from Placa Espanya where you can see the daily fountain shows, and the metro station at Placa Espanya connects you to everywhere. The location is about a 15 minute walk to the l'Eixample area, where all the trendy restaurants and Gaudi houses are. Or you can […] take the metro there if you don't want to walk. They also have free (albeit a little slow) wifi in their lobby, which is very nice. If you want to be in the middle of all the action, stay along the Rambla. But if you want a little peace and quiet near all the action, stay here. My only complaint was that the beds were really quite firm, but then again I think all the beds in Spain tend to be on the firmer side. Les mer

The room upon check-in was no bigger than a closet. Have stayed in Europe many times and realize room size is smaller than U.S. standard. However; this is by far the smallest room i have ever stayed in (closet size). The next day (after complaining) we were assigned to another room that was a bit larger, but nothing that I would consider equal to small […] European size. Still unreasonably small for 2. Nice clean, fully air-conditioned and spacious hotel with the friendliest staff (without exception). Our room was clean, well lit, air-conditioned and very comfortable. The hotel is about 150m from the Espanya metro station which is about 5-7 mins travel time from La Rambla (city centre). Breakfast was €8.50 for a full continental breakfast. Pricey […] enough but just about worth it. Internet access costs €6.50 an hour (!!) if you use the PC they provide themselves. Overall, I'd highly this hotel and I would consider staying there again. I stayed 8 nights at this hotel and I would definitely stay here again. The location is awesome and the staff very friendly. Everything is only a short walk away. You can also enjoy the free mini bar at your room. Very convenient for the price.
