Hotel France Albion - Paris

Stayed 5 nights in a room smaller than we expected from pictures. Twin beds are also small and really hard. Room was very clean, with fresh towels every day. The aircondition makes a lot of noise, we actually thought the neighbours had endless showers as it sounded like that. Tried breakfast once, was served very little bread and there was no refill […] of eggs and bacon which was empty. Last day our transfer to the airport came 10 mins early, the receptionist insisted her clock was correct and almost pushed us out of the hotel. Not a friendly goodbye. Les mer

Søsteren min og jeg var der 4 netter i fbm TdF. Vi er svært overrasket over hvor bra hotellet, rommet, omgivelsene var! Rommet var veldig pent, badet stort og fint, så helt nytt ut! Gratis trådløst nettverk! Koselig bar/kafe ved siden av med hyggelige verter. Matvareforretning rett over gata, veldig kort vei til metro, gangavstand til Montmartre-området! […] Vi kan dessverre ikke si noe om frokosten, for det hadde vi ikke på hotellet, men vi har iallefall absolutt ingenting å utsette, og kommer veldig gjerne tilbake :) Les mer

We were very pleased with our four nights at Hotel France Albion. It is located very close to Moulin Rouge (could almost see it from the Hotel), and the people at the reception spoke English and were very nice and helpful. The room was cleaned every day, and it was a safe present. We had our windows toward the street, but we did not hear any noise if […] the windows were shut. The room also had good air conditioning. We did not eat breakfast here, as we found it a bit pricy (alomst 14 E per person), but there were no problem finding good food in Paris! Right across the street there was a supermarket were you can buy food, drinks etc. Would stay here again, it was a good hotel - taking into condsideration that we are both (poor) students. There were also several Metro stations close to the hotel, especially Saint Georges, Notre-Dame-de-Lourette, and Pigaelle. Les mer

This is a basic hotel, small rooms, BBC on the TV, expensive internet, my room was not cleaned when I returned early afternoon, and the bathroom had a drainage problem. But staff speak good English, and the area is quiet, has a good selection of restaurants, and is in walking distance from Montmartre.

Nicely situated in a quiet neighbourhood, with two of the metro lines close by. The service was good, rooms nice and nicely located. Would stay here again.

First of all, it is near Metro station, easy to reach. No lift in this station, difficult to take my baggage to overground but it is not hotel's problem. Hotel service is good, they are able to speak in English, friendly and helpful. Room is big, much bigger than the one I lived in England and it is clean. Hotel has lift, nice. Very reasonably priced hotel in central Paris. Room was small (on par with most European hotels) and furniture slightly dated but bathroom and appliances very modern and the bed was comfortable. Decent location - about a 2 min walk to the tube/metro stop, 20 min walk to train station, 10-15 min walk to Opera and Lafayette Galaries and if you like […] walking, then say 25-30 min walk to The Louvre (we walked all over from this hotel). We stayed three nights at France Albion, Paris. The atmosphere of the hotel was very friendly and welcoming already at the beginning. You can speak english - and be understood! Cons: The room is very small and the heater doesn't strong enough to warm the whole room. And it will be quite noisy when there is someone outside speaking at "normal" voice. but fortunately, the ones live near my room kept quite for all the nights. Pros: Although the room is small, but it's quite tidy and comfy. The hotel is very near to the metro, with some supermarkt /convenient store around you where you can buy some cheap food and drinks. This is a lovely hotel... Breakfeast is really nice... Staff were very helpful and friendly... Room were small but cosy and nice and warm... we would definetly stay here again...

The location is great. It is close to Montmartre, Place Pigalle, Grand Boulevards, shopping and the Opera house. Metro station is literally a one minute walk. Very clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Would definitley stay there, again.

hotel was average and lots of miscommunication with staff

I have mixed opinions of this hotel , Its a nice hotel given its proximity to St George. There are cafe 's nearby and Metro is really close. The Hotel is not far from Garu Du Nord, with constant buses running in the direction. Hotel rooms by itself is really small , We fortunately had only a 25 inch luggage , i am not sure if you could roll a larger […] luggage in the corridor. The rooms were tiny ,but nice in its own way.The disappointment was the bed , i found it uncomfortable and decided to sleep on the floor(what ever was remaining) in the second night. This will be my first review I've wrote for a hotel which goes someway into saying how much I enjoyed the stay. I travelled with my girlfriend and we were both pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, even inviting us to join them for drinks and food celebrating the hotels birthday. We had the […] top room, no. 61 which wasn't huge but was more than adequate for 2 adults and cosy. Booklets were provided on destinations to visit and restraunts, there was also a handy fold away map which was my trusty aide through the 4 days. The location was excellent, about a 5 minute taxi drive from gare du nord or 15 minute walk, with 2 subway stations north and south of the hotel only 3/4 minutes walk. it proved only to be a short walk to the opera house and galleries Lafayette, a bit further south was the louvre, probably a 15 minute walk. Moulin rouge was about 10 minutes walk north. There is a small supermarket south from the hotel about a 5 minute walk and the staff were more than happy wih us taking drinks to the room, although I'd suggest taking a corkscrew! In summary the room and hotel were very well kept and cleaned everyday, the bed was firm but more than comfortable, there was a hair dryer provided, shower gel, 26" tv and small desk. There was also free wifi as long as you provide your email address you get free access. The only missing item was a kettle/tea making facilities for the room but apart from that the hotel is great value for money, cheap cheerful and clean. If you want a room to call home for a few days that suits your basic needs, ie sleep and shower, then I can't recommend this hotel enough, if you want the luxury amenities such as gym, spa, sauna, built in bar/restaurant etc and slippers/bath robe then look elsewhere. Grab a bargain you won't be disappointed! Les mer

Hotel in superb location, convenient to the Roissy bus stop which is a non stop service direct from the CDG airport or, you prefer to travel by train, there are 3 different metro stops close by. Situated near to the large designer stores but also lots of bargains to be found in the local surrounding streets. Our room was compact and quirky but comfortable […] and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was also tasty and the price was competitive for the area. I really recommend this hotel. This is a two stars hotel that deserves to be at least a 3 stars. The hotel is clean, well structured, rooms with individual bathroom, excellent breakfast and all the employees speaks english, are friendly and try to help whenever you need. I've booked this hotel a little bit afraid in what I would found because it is […] a 2 stars. But the hotel surprised me with all it presents. This is on of the best value-to-price. The only concern about it is the noise on the street by the morning, because the deliveries on the market nearby. But if you sleep as stone like me, it's not a such problem. The location is also excelent: 5 min by bus from Gare du Nord (15 min walking), 10 min walking from Gare Saint Lazarre, 15 min walking to Louvre, there are 5 subway stations nearby walking 5 min (2 of then half block from hotel), 10 min walking to Moulin Rouge and 20 to Sacre Coeur. In my opinion, the best choice in Paris for a reasonable cost. Les mer

Stay here! Walking distance to a few metro stops. Good service, clean room and great prices. What more could you want?

The single room was miniscule with a very narrow single bed, but the interior room was quiet for the most part. There is air conditioning in the room which allows you to keep the windows closed when the outdoor temperature is uncomfortably high. The breakfast was very good and the dining room uncrowded.

The price and quality are far better than many that I have been in Paris with 2 or 3 stars. I had to wait for some time to get in to the room although the time was after 2'oclock but in general the room is clean, location is nice (not far from MontMart, also in paris as long as you are close to a metro station, the location doesn't really matter)... […] We also had free internet in the room. The is my first ever hotel review which says alot about the pleasure this little gem has brought to me the three times I have stayed there. The staff are incredible, helpful and very warming. They will help you get your bearings are always friendly and made the trip all the more enjoyable. The hotel is great value for a two star as it has aircon, […] comfortable beds, a safe and decent TV's. In terms of location is is second to none as it is in Motmarte (the artists district) with many wonderful good value places to eat and a great vibe. The hotel is also a wakl away from the Sacre Ceur *be warned though it is uphill) which offers the best views of Paris and is a magic place. All in all I am happy to to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a no nonsence good value 'cute' hotel in a great location in Paris! Les mer

Convenient location, [price as it is and friendly personell

overall a very nice, comfortable hotel. The only slight down side is the male receptionists weren't friendly in any shape or form. The two female receptionist were far far nicer and friendly. Over all I would reccommend this hotel to anyone. It had very good strong shower and the heating in the room was perfect.

Plus points: near to two metro, friendly & efficient receptionists who speak good English, nearby restaurants / cafe, room is clean, the bathroom is considerably big compared to the room size. Minus points: room is small (but reasonable for the price paid), it can be a bit noisy at night for rooms facing the street esp if it is a weekend. This hotel had a great location. It was about 2-3 min walk from the metro station and about 5 mins to a laundry mat. The rooms were small but nothing out of the ordinary for European hotel rooms, and it was actually bigger than we expected. You can have WiFi in your room if you have a laptop or they have a computer in the lobby which is very fast. The […] housekeeping service was great and always consistent. The Front Desk was super helpful and friendly. We stayed in room 31 which faces the street and the windows are not sound proof so bring ear plugs if you are not a heavy sleeper. I was happy to not have two twins smushed together...i hated sleeping in the crack, something I didn't have to do hear. The breakfast was good, but 13 Euros a piece which is kinda alot if you dont eat alot. Go down the street to cafe and have something similar for 5 Euros. When we come back we are staying here and I am recommending this place to my friends. Les mer

We were concerned about booking a 2 star hotel but with Parisiene prices needs as needs be! Hotel was charming as were all the staff, breakfast was a huge and very pleasant surprise. I would return to the Hotel Albion and can recommmend it to anyone wanting an inexpensive hotel within walking distance of many of the main attractions of Paris. Yhe only thing missing was tea/coffee making facities in the rooms. The google map is rather confusing- if walking to the hotel from the Gare de Nord you should simply exit the station at […] Rue du Mauberg and walk until you see the church in front of you and turn right onto Rue Notre Dame de Lorette- 15-20 minutes. Hotel was nice - room a little small but bed was comfy and the room and the bathroom were clean. It's a little out of the way (a couple of miles to the Tuileries, but close to Sacre Coeur and the Rue de LaFayette/Boulevard Hausseman - easy for buses and the Metro), but if you don't mind a wander (my wife and I did an 11-mile circuit round Paris) it's […] fine and Notre Dame de Lorette is a relatively quiet area. The only issues people have with the 9ieme is that there are hawkers near Sacre Coeur and the Rue de Clichy (Moulin Rouge) is seedy and downmarket (i.e. sex shops!), but the hotel is far enough away not to be tainted by this. Overall, for the money, I'd say it's as good as you'd get in Paris. In short, I would go back. If you're keen for breakfast at the hotel, go early! The buffet is rarely topped up, and at 9am there was hardly anything left, no hot food or croissants - bit of a waste of 13 euros, especially when there are some nice bars open for breakfast nearby. My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel was 2/3* standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I asked for quiet room and they happily obliged and put us on the top floor with only a 10-15 minute wait. Breakfast was included and was very nice. Hotel and room very clean, although room a little small, but same said for most Paris hotel […] rooms. It was handy having toiletries in the room, especially if you are unable to bring them on your flight. Very short walk from St Georges metro and a 15-20 minute walk to The Opera House. Here you will find shops and department stores and access to Hop-On-Off buses. We used the bus for 2 days and got a carnet - 10 metro tickets, which covered us both when we couldn't use the bus. There is a supermarket just over the road and No stress Cafe, terrace cafe serving reasonably priced food, in Rue Clauzel just up the road on the way to Moulin Rouge. Sacre Couer is about 15min walk and is lovely in the evening. You get a terrific buzz there listening to music on the steps and where people gather with a few drinks and food while overlooking Paris city. We chose this hotel because it got good reviews for an inexpensive, centrally-located, Paris hotel. Pleased to report that it lived up to its reviews. It was comfortable and convenient and the hotel staff were freindly and helpful. Would defintitely recommend to others.
