Staff was outstanding, friendly, and offered excellent service. Breakfast buffet was top-notch. Nice touches like available beach towels and umbrellas plus 24/7 coffee in the breakfast room were especially welcome. "Great olace to stay in Buzios"
This is a wonderful place to stay in Buzios. Esach room is a separate bungalow, and each bungalow has a deck with a view of the sea. Good WiFi service on the deck, so it's a lovely place to catch up on your e-mail. The service is friendly, the rooms comfortable, good breakfsat, good & quick laundry service if you need it. What more cxould you want?
"As Good as it Gets !"
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in July, and want to recommend it to other people. Its location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach. We especially liked the fact that the rooms are private cottages, all with a beautiful sea view. Ours was beautifully maintained and very clean. Breakfast was delicious and varied, and the office staff seemed […] to speak at least five different languages. Although it was the winter low season, the hotel was almost full, so it is probably best to book in advance. Our stay was a short one, and the only regret was not having more time to see many of the beaches in Buzios, and to relax for longer at Hibiscus Beach. We´ll be back ! Les mer
"Five Star price at 2 star level"
After all I've heard about Buzios, this was a dissapointment during my trip. The rooms are in bad need of refurbishing. The hotel was very difficult to locate. The breakfast offered was very poor, and that is being generous!! The hot water in the shower lasted no longer than 5 minutes and then it would turn cold. This hotel did not reach a two star […] level, but the prices charges (this is "off season") where 5 star prices. To all that might consider this hotel, stay away!! Les mer
We are sorry that the guest was disappointed with his stay at our hotel. The great majority of our guests, including those who have written reviews on Hotels.com and Expedia have made favourable comments. While we respect a person4s right to differ, we feel it is important to clarify the facts. Firstly, the guest did not pay 5-star prices. In fact, he paid less than half of this, and would have paid much less for him and his companion, had he booked a bungalow instead of a very spacious 2-bedroomed apartment, designed for a family of four or five. This apartment is brand new and pristine. It is simply inacurrate to say that it is "in bad need of refurbushing". As for breakfast, we should point out that our hot and cold buffet breakfast consists of: freshly squeezed orange juice, 6 different types of fresh tropical fruit, sausage and scrambled eggs, ham and cheese, 2 types of cereals, croissants and pastries, 3 different types of bread, with various jams, cream cheese and butter. An endless supply of freshly brewed coffee, and a choice of many different types of tea is also served. It is difficult to understand how this complimentary breakfast can be described as "poor, and that is being generous". The hotel is advertised as being 3-star, and we are confident that the comfort and service provided is well up to the mark

"Hibiscus Beach Pousada"
This posada was somewhat rustic, VERY near the beach and close to downtown, without all the noise that a downtown can bring. While not being a 5star hotel, it was clean and fun to stay in.
"Excellent Views and Location"
The Hibiscus is about 150 km of Rio and airport pick-up and transportation was arranged by the hotel. The hotel is about a 20 min walk to shops and restaurants, and about a 45 min walk into the middle of Buzios. There are lots of mini-buses if you don't want to walk. It was a 3 min walk to the beach. The included breakfast had a an excellent selection. […] The cottages were private and each had a small deck with an excellent view of the ocean. There was a safe, bar fridge, and TV in the room. The bed was a little hard and the linens and pillows are in need of updating. The pool was perfect for cooling off and the surround had shaded areas to park yourself and read a book (the hotel supplied beach towels). It is a hotel for the able-bodied, as there are many steps up to the lobby area of the hotel, and then a steep walk up to the cottages. There is good wifi in the rooms. We would recommend this hotel to our friends. Les mer

"Very, Very Nice Hotel"
This was my first time to Buzios – a business trip in August, the southern hemisphere's winter. I stayed at the Hibiscus Beach Pousada for 9 nights and enjoyed every aspect. Each ‘room’ at this pousada is an individual bungalow that is built up a hill-side. One of the nicest beach is a 1 minute walk out the front door. Each bungalow has French doors […] that open to a small private patio overlooking the sea… Every room has a tremendous view, and as a previous review noted, the higher the room, the better the view (I too was at the top in room #9). The staff was great. English is my only language and I had no problems. They even arranged a car for the 2.5hr ride to the airport in Rio at a rate much cheaper than any other private transportation. The location of the pousada is towards the tip of the Buzios peninsula and is much quieter at night than ‘downtown’. For shopping and nightlife, the walk to down town is a beautiful 10 minute stroll along the waterfront (very safe, even late at night). The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The free-breakfast was served promptly at 8:30am (and it is a good mix of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and scrambled eggs). I could not get a strong WiFi signal in my room, but it was a pleasure to take my laptop down to the restaurant area to work online. Overall – I cannot imagine a nicer experience in Buzios than the Hibiscus Beach. Les mer

Muy buen servicio, siempre amable y dispuesto, buena la ubicación. Las almohadas un tanto duras. En general creo se obtiene más de lo que se paga y eso se agradece.

"Nice Pousada."
Nice Pousada in Buzios. Individual bungalows, most of them with a view of the sea from the balcony. Only complaint: Many Mosquitos (visited in July). Use of mosquito repellent recommended. Local mosquitos seems to be fold of exotic (= forreign) food.
