Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt like ved jernbanestasjonen. Det er også kort vei til sentrum med kirker, museer og resturanter. Høy standard og komfortable rom. Frokostbuffeen var stor, men bestod stort sett av kaker, sukret frukt og tørt brød.

LOOKS: As with many hotels in Italy, the outside doesn't convey what's inside. From the street, the Ambasciatori looks a little industrial and dumpy, but the inside was well-maintained and quiet. STAFF: The multilingual front desk staff were all courteous and attentive, despite being very busy. Marco was very nice! LOCATION: The front door of the hotel is directly across from one main side entrance to the Firenze SMN station, making travel very simple (whether by train or tour bus). Tour buses stop directly across the station, near the other entrance. Great little pizzeria just next door (go left as you leave), busy with locals which is always a good sign. INTERNET: Free wi-fi is difficult to find in Italy, but because the Ambasciatori's rates were excellent (by the 1/2 hr, hr, or day), we used it and found the speed to actually be "high-speed" unlike in some other hotels. ROOM: Clean, comfortable, quiet. Shower design will result in H20 on the floor, no matter your contortion, but would function fine as a bathtub. Sound of church bells in the evening instead of horns was a welcome sound. BREAKFAST: Nice selection, large room, no waiting. We enjoyed our stay in the Ambasciatori, although we wondered why it was a 4-star as opposed to a 3-star. All other hotels on this trip were 3-stars, and they seemed on par with this one. Nothing wrong with the Ambasciatori, just wondering what the star distinction entails. Highly recommend this hotel for the on-the-go couple (like us).

Close to the train station. Walked out the station crossed the street, right there. Staff helpful. Common areas need some updating. Room ok Bath roomy Breakfast was the best!!! Our room was clean and large with a large, very nice bathroom. The breakfast was very good--lots of food choices. The bed was hard, but we like that, and they pushed the twins together and covered them with a king-sized sheet, so sleeping was comfortable. Our room faced the the bus station, but although we could hear some announcements, it wasn't too noisy. There is a nice bar, and the staff were very helpful. They booked our advance reservations for the Uffizi and Accademia quickly and efficiently. We'd definitely go back.

The hotel was quite nice and extremely close to he Train Station. We wake across the street and were there. The rooms were not bad and we had a nice whirlpool bath tub wich we used. I didn't expect any more for the price was very rasonable. The breakfast ws good and the free internet with computers was very helpful. I didn't want to carry my laptop with me to Italy. If I had tomake a suggestion I would love to have douvet instead of a bed spread and a couple feather pillows. But othr tha that I would highly recomend it.

when I booked this hotel, there are quite a lot of mixed good and bad reviews. Totally come to my surprise, the hotel has very good service and the room / bathroom is very spacious. The location is awesome, right next to the Firenze station, dont need to walk with the language to look for the hotel. The hotel is close to all the tourist location and next to bus station, if needed. Breakfast is awesome, have hot and cold choices. The only thing cause problem is the bath tub, like other italian hotel, they dont have a shower curtain, but have a half glass covering the bath. water may spill, need to be careful.

This hotel is literally right outside the main train terminal in Florence. The front desk staff is very helpful and they speak fluent English. The hotel is older than what we are used to and our room (101) had some minor problems like the bathroom door would not close (the door frame did not align with the door) and the bed was hard and low to the ground. But, this hotel offers internet for 5 Euro's per 24 hour period (great for Europe). It offers a great location if you are traveling by train. We would stay there again.

The hotel met with all our expectations.The staff was very friendly and eager to help. The breakfast buffet which was included in the price was very good.The only problem we encountered was the absence of a shower curtain which made the bathroom messy after a shower.The location was very convenient (next to the train station).

Very convenient location right across the street from the train station. It was so convenient to the sights we wanted to see in Florence and the bus station was right around the corner for our quick trip to Siena. Great breakfast got us prepare for our day of touring.

The only problem we had with the room is that there was two single beds masquerading as a double which made the bed slightly uncomfortable. Aside from that, it was perfectly acceptable.

The staff was friendly, and it is a very convenient location if you are coming by train or bus (it's literally right across the street)....BUT, I think they need to pay attention to the quality of their remodeling endeavors. The carpet was really worn, they obviously cater to high volume tourgroups. But the room we stayed in had unfinished construction around the window and it appeared it was years old. The shower door kept coming completely off the track and even the drain cover wasnt installed...just layed there. The wallpaper and drywall werent finished and it just felt slapped together. The a/c did not work for 2 days, and although it was hot outside, they just kept telling us an "engineer" came to the room and said it was working just fine. Our last night we couldnt take it anymore and demanded to be relocated to a better room. Which was like night and day. But even then the a/c wasnt really "cold". The breakfast was below average.

Didn't think it was a four star hotel but was in convenient location especially if traveling by train. Walking distance to all major attractions. didn't compare to other four-star hotels on my trip. decent room for the price.

This hotel could not be more convenient. It is located between the bus station and the SMN train station. The trilingual staff, great breakfast and the perfect location for walking to attractions make this a wonderful place to stay.

Literally across the street from the train station. From there it is 10 minutes to the Duomo and 15-20 minutes to either the Uffizi or the Academia where you will find "The birth or venus," and Michelangelo's "David," respectively. Breakfast was included and was traditional European fare: hard boiled eggs, breads, cereals, fruit, and cold cuts. Internet was 5 euro for 24 hours and was hit or miss with the usage capability. Hotel is now smoke free but smoke lingers in the hallways and rooms. Great sized rooms and baths for Italy. Very comfy bed and close to convenience stores and laundromat. It was a bit loud because of the proximity to the bus and train stations, however. Stay here if you are arriving and leaving by train and want a large room with included breakfast.

This hotel is right across the train station and in the same building as the inter-city bus station (so incredibly convenient!!!)... yet, their double windows protect your sleep from any outside noise. The room was clean and cozy with a great working A/C and new-looking/very clean bathroom. There are wonderful cute little restaurants just within 5-10 min walk from the hotel. Duomo and great shopping: 10-15 min walk. Awesome breakfast buffet with many food choices!!! :) Internet Cafe is next door with 50% discount rates for hotel residents. Helpful, English-speaking staff... I'd stay there again and again.

We were traveling by train so location was extremely important. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast had a broad selection.

We spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. It's right next to the train station and couldn't be more conveniently located. Our room was gorgeous, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, and the surrounding restaurants were great. And it's within walking distance of almost all of Florence's major sites. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is In a great location right across from the main train station. We flew into Florence. Taxi was 25 euro from the Airport to the hotel. We did a quick trip by train to Pisa and took the train to Venice after our stay in Florence. All the major points of Florence were walking distance except for piazza michaelangelo which was a 15 min bus ride after a 2 min walk from the hotel. Hotel staff was very helpful(English speaking). The room was clean and updated. The only issue was that the Irconditioning wasn't as cool as we expected. This is something we noticed in the hotels we stayed at in other cities of Italy as well All in all it was a great hotel and well worth the money

The hotel is right across from the train station, so arriving by fast train from Rome, it was very easy to pull our luggage across the street to our destination. The desk staff was very helpful with suggestions for tours and restaurants and directions. The complementary breakfast was in a lovely dining room with an abundant buffet. The bar from 4-7 p.m. was empty, and the service was oddly slow. We woke up to early morning road construction, along with early tour group departures. So the rooms weren't sound-proof, but comfortable, clean and pleasant.

We stayed 5 nights and paid an extremely reasonable rate. The breakfast served daily was excellent. 10 minute walk to most sites. Train station across the street so easy to travel to other cities. The only minor issue is that the AC was not on yet so if you wanted your room cooler, the window was it. Our room was facing the street/train so it was a bit loud during the busy hours with the window open. We survived and would still stay here again and again.

Hotel was directly across the street from the Santa Maria Novella train station and our rooms looked out over the road. Noisy from street construction but still a good hotel overall. The picture is on their website is totally deceiving but still... Clean room and bathroom. Small but clean. Front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant.

The hotel is in serious need of a makeover. Completely devoid of character, very dated and sparse interior. Aircon in room was blasting out hot air regardless of setting, the bath was tiny, with a showerhead but no curtain or anything to hang it from. Breakfast was OK, rolls, cold meats, cheese, cakes etc. but only hot food was fake scrambled eggs floating in water. Some of the staff seemed to try hard, but hotel needs a total overhaul.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We walked 100 yards to downtown Florence, there was parking under the hotel, it overlooks the main bus station (not to mention the duomo and downtown)...even better, the front desk was extremely courteous and helpful, as well as the bartender. i would highly recommend this hotel based on our experience...

We traveled by train in Italy and stayed in Ambasciatori B&H Hotels for 2 nights. First of all, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! It is just across the street of the train station. Although there is some construction going on in front of the station, it took no more than 5 minutes walking with luggage. Everything is close by. For me, this location is the best value of all. In addition, there is small grocery next to the train station that you can buy fruits and drinks, an American style restaurant open until midnight. The area was very safe to walk around late at night. Second, the room is larger than I had expected. Bathroom, which I value the most, is big and clean. The bed is extra-firm in American standard which we prefer. So, not an issue to us. We got a room with balcony facing the station. With the door open, we got nice breeze and some alright city view. Although it is close to station, it was quiet as long as the door/window closed. One down side is our room facing the west and got hot in the later afternoon. OK at this moment, but might be a big problem in the summer. Third, the staffs speak English well. One was able to book the Academy and Uffizi for us despite showing "not available" when we tried to book online. Last but not the least, breakfast was great!

This property is in a period of transition. It looks like they are trying to upgrade the condition of the hotel internally ( painting walls, etc). The location is excellent, just a short 2 minute walk from the train station. All of the principle tourist sights in Florence are just a short walk away. The breakfast was good. Unfortunately, the hotel caters to large tourist groups who tend to create a great deal of noise in the hotel. In addition the rooms appear to be somewhat dated or worse for wear. Finally the staff was efficient, but not very friendly or helpful with suggestions or advice in terms of touring Florence.

Very good, free breakfast buffet. Staff were courteous and helpful. Couldn't be any closer to the train station: only 100ft from station exit, very convenient when schlepping 2 pieces of luggage per person. Wireless internet access charge in room was very reasonable for 24 hrs of access.

Went to Florence in October. My wife and I were VERY pleased with our hotel. The bathroom was big and spacious, the room was clean, and the location was great. It is literally across the street from the train station, just take a right from the trains and you'll even see the signs for the hotel, so it makes it easy to get to and to leave, if you are taking the train. The bus station is also right around the corner for day trips to Tuscany or to the outlets. Just a quick walk to some of the main attractions, so we just adored the hotel's location. Also got a great price, less then half of what we paid in Rome or Venice. Decent breakfast in the morning, has more then enough to stuff you until lunch/dinner. Hotel Staff was polite and efficient. Would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is going to stay in Florence.

Great location. Just out the door and across the street from the main train station. We had a few problems when checking in. Asked and paid for a triple specifying NO rollaway for the third bed (since if was for a very large adult, over 275 pounds). Arrived at our room to a small, child-size roll away bed. After explaining to the front desk, they did find us another room with a regular sized twin bed (not a roll away) as the third bed. It was very cramped, however, as this bed was placed at the foot of (perpendicular to) two twin beds pushed together. Made it a real comedy of errors when someone had to get up and go to the bathroom at night! The breaksfast buffet had a huge range of biscuits and pastries for breakfast, as well as some cheeses and luncheon meats. There were eggs (runny, scrambled), but they tasted odd to me. I was easily able to fill up on pastries and rolls. The location was perfect as we were traveling by train. Helped a lot as it was rainy the two days we were in Florence. The main bus terminal is also right there at the train station, so very convenient. Also, went to the Uffizi the first day we arrived and were able to get reservations for the next morning, so don't waste your money on some internet service that charges a high booking fee if you have more than one day in Florence. Simply buy your own reserved tickets the day before you wish to go. Lots of street vendors in Florence; almost a distraction to the ambiance of the city.

Right next to SMN Railway Station in Florence, so the location was very convenient for our one-night stay. If our stay had been any longer, we would have gone elsewhere. Construction in the street right outside our window began at 7 a.m. with jack-hammers and relentless noise. The hotel was not clean, but the staff was friendly and helpful. Maybe when the construction is over, this will be a good place to stay, but not now.

Smelled like a huge ashtray in this "non smoking room". No matter how much we sprayed deoderizer it still smelled. It was so bad that it woke me up. The location was great, right next to the train station, but not a 4 star hotel.

The hotel is right next to the train station and the bus station, but you would never know it. The breakfast was wonderful, homemade yogurt, eggs, meat, fruit, etc. The Duomo and historical Florence is only a few blocks away. I would definitely stay there again.

We (a group of 9 adults) stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location was great -- right across the street from the train station. Despite this location, the noise was not as bad as we expected in all the rooms we had; some rooms were silent, and others were quite noisy (this is the primary downside of the hotel, and why "comfort of room" was given a rating of 3). Our rooms were very comfortable in all other ways (including the beds and other furniture) and really nice and also clean. Rooms included kitchenettes and large bathrooms, balconies, and light-blocking curtains. We were in the newer part of the hotel, though; quick glances into rooms in the older part (on our way to the breakfast room, which was in the older part) suggests that those rooms may not be as nice. On hotels.com, I don't think there's any way to guarantee a room in the newer part. Also, we reserved 4 rooms with twin beds, but when we got there, we were told those rooms were not available; for this reason, I rated "quality of hotel service" as a 3 because the staff made no attempts to make this right and no apologies at all about the problem. Otherwise, the staff was very nice. Another issue with service is that the wireless internet service was quite costly, especially compared to other hotels in Italy and compared to the internet cafe down the street. A plus in terms of service was the great breakfast.

We were very happy with the location of the hotel. For people traveling to Florence that don't speak Italian this is a great place to stay because it is located near the main train station. When we were ready to go back to the hotel we just asked where the train station was and everyone knew exactly where we wanted to go. Florence can be a very confusing city. The hotel has been recently renovated and the complimentary breakfast was very good.

Location- across from train station and easy walk to Duoma. Hotel was clean and so was the room. Typical european room, very small. The bed was very uncomfortable. felt more like sleeping on the springs than a mattress, and no air conditioning. Would not want to be here in the summer.

Hotel itself was very good. They could have had a more variable breakfast. Every day it was the same items.

Hotel was very convenient to train station. About a 5 to 10 minute walk to the historic area. Bus stops right outside the door tended to make it quite noisy. Could not control temperature in the room. Very warm and could not open window due to the street noise. Breakfast was OK so only went the first day. Desk was very helpful. I would recommend it for those on a budget.

We stayed at the Ambasciatori for 4 nights. It was conveniently located next to the train station and near the electric bus stop. It is also near the car rental places if you decide to rent a car to go into the countryside. When we arrived, we were told that we had been upgraded to a room in another part of the building, just around the corner. We were suspicious but pleasantly surprised to find that it was a newly renovated portion of the hotel. It was very modern and very clean. Our room even had a tiny kitchenette with a small fridge and stovetop. The bathroom was very nice with a towel warmer that came in very handy after we washed some of our garments. The shower was great! My only complaint about the room was the bed. It was on the short side and not supportive at all. It was not so bad for me but my 6'1" husband's feet were hanging off the bed. Also, the heavier person on the bed creates a dip for the lighter one to roll into! The bed was set low, like a modern platform style bed, which could hard for some to get up and down from. We also did not care for the breakfast. I had the standard meat, cheese, bread and cereal mix but there was no OJ which is important to my husband, and the coffee was really awful. I would recommend the hotel based on the staff, location and cleanliness. If bed comfort and breakfast is important to you, you might look elsewhere.
