"This is NOT a Hotel"
If you make the mistake of booking this and thinking it is a hotel, you'll soon find out it is not a hotel, but a private residence. And even if you pay in full through Hotels.com, you will be called by someone and asked to pay a hefty deposit before they tell you where the lock box is for the key to your room. There is no front desk. The manager is […] never there. There is no security. So unless you want to stay in someone's private home, I suggest you book The Hilton, nearby, a very very nice hotel on the beach, for less money than this rip-off. Les mer
"Mariner's Resort Key Biscyne"
Having stayed here previously I was very diappointed with the current room given to us. On arrival the water main was turned off and I had to turn it on myself. The termostat had no battery so no adjustment .of the temp in the room.
"some units nicer than others"
This was our second visit to this place. First time was in April. We booked a 2br 2bath elevated ocean view condo and actually got a 3br 3 bath unit, #324. Very nice unit. This time, we booked the same but were assigned a ground floor unit with a marina view which was not acceptable to me. After some calls to Hotels.com and marina resort villas we were […] given the option of upgrading to 3 br 3 bath town house for an additional fee, which we took. I am glad that the 3rd couple we invited to join us did not come as the 3rd bedroom had a day bed / a trundle, which would not have worked out for a couple. The unit, #406, did have the view that I was expecting and was nicely decorated. We had a few problems like no corkscrew ( had to go to CVS and buy one) and no amenities in our bathroom ( delivered the next morning. Thank you) The unit was clean enough but could use a deep clean .(I'm being generous on this as it was an almost last minute change....) The air vents in the second br and kitchen were really dirty. A candy wrapper on the floor under the couch.But there were no bugs, which is always a possibility in Florida. ( lived here 6 years now and I will NEVER get used to those creepy crawlies...) The TV in the second BR must have been knocked off the dresser as it had a huge crack in the side and we had trouble turning it on. It would turn off unexpectedly and then turn back on by it's self too. All in all, this place suited our needs for a weekend in the Keys. We appreciate that we were given an option for a different unit even though the place was booked for the Veteran's day weekend. If you book here, find a way to specify that you want a 2nd or 3rd floor unit. Preferably building 3 or 4. Keys Diver is a good snorkel/dive option and was flexible when 2 out of 4 of us cancelled due to rougher seas than we wanted to be on. (Our friends had a fine time. "Great surroundings, little to do"
we had a 4 day stay at Mariner's Resort. The overall condition of the facility was more than adequate, although I would have thought slightly better appointed kitchen for one that is offered as a "kitchentte". No toaster, and limited cups, flatwear, etc. No cooking surfaces. Overall however the grounds are very well maintained, and the pool and tennis […] was appreciated. This is NOT a hotel however...it is owner-owned apartments and villas, so does not have concierge or desk services, and limited things to do which suited us fine for a getaway and relaxing time. If you are looking for more of a action-filled activites area then i would advise somewhere else. We had a good stay overall. Les mer
"A little Stress Relief"
I stayed in unit 522 and was very nicely done. My only issues were that the sliding glass doors leading from the living room to the patio did not lock, more than half of the blind panels were busted off and crammed in various areas of the villa (under the bed, rolled in cabinets, crammed in closets, etc.) and the last night there was a roach I came […] face to face with. One other issue was the cleaning people showed up on Monday (my c/o was Tues) and before I could get to the door they unlocked and started to enter. They were apologetic, however, I was alone and at that point felt very uncomfortable and didn't sleep well that evening. Liked the location, easy to get to. I did use the work out facilities and no complaints. Equipment is a little dirty and dated, but still worked and provided me a workout. Les mer
"Has potential"
PROS: It has a nice workout room and lagoon style pool. We stayed in a one-bedroom. The furniture was new and nice. Good size suite. The complimentary internet service and free local and long distance was nice. CONS: It appeared that the carpet had not been vacuumed in months and desperately needed to be steam-cleaned. "The Mariner's Resort Villas"
Don't believe the pictures. Townhouse was okay but overpriced for the amenities and location. Pool was closed due to 'contamination'; but it looked like a very nice pool area. Blinds were dirty and broken. Back area was a gravel area. Key Largo is not the paradise; unless you like boats. Close to nothing to do!!

We booked a one bedroom hammock view with a king bed. When we arrived we were pleased with the location of the townhouse and overall size of the unit. However it was not what we paid for. There was a queen bed with a slight sag in the middle, broken handle on the bathroom door, broken blinds, and both dvd players were non-functional. No hairdryer. We […] contacted guest services and after a few calls and couple hours we had someone come out and show us a different unit. The new unit was beautiful, the only one left with a king bed was a 2 bedroom townhouse with full kitchen. They charged us a fee to change to the upgraded room. Even though we were unhappy and our entire morning was waisted on waiting, and moving everything to the new location. The new unit had marble floors, granite counter tops, and was beautifully furnished. However the bedroom tv did not work right and again the dvd player did not work. The jacuzzi tub in the master bath did not work either. The pros outweighed the cons. The pool was huge and amazing, probably one of the best I've seen. The outdoor grills by the pool were nice. I would not recommend staying here unless you were guaranteed a fully functional unit. Les mer
"Mariners resort key largo, fla"
the room seemed fine upon entry but was abnormally hot. maintenance man tried to fix air conditioner but it never was fixed. we also found a large roach in the silverware drawer. very few towels provided. was private and nice and quiet comfortable bed.
"I've had a better experience at a La Quinta Inn"
I was far from thrilled to find a dead cockroach next to the bed when I plugged my phone charger in. At how expensive is as it was for a night stay, I think this is completely unacceptable. The view out of the back of the screened in porch was that of your air conditioning system. When they say you have "beach access" you really get a 500 ft. sandy […] walkway surrounded by rocks and a few lawn chairs. I am really not a high maintenance person when it comes to staying at resorts and hotels. The overview of the room was not terrible by all means and the pool was large and very enjoyable. "Key Largo Mariners Resort"
Original Room was a a nice 2-bedroom with king bed but disgustingly filthy. Sent to another room that had no lighting in the kitchen only a queen in the single bedroom, and no privacy between the bedroom and rest of the unit. (glass doors with no curtains). It was at least clean.
"Comfortable with convenient location"
Mariner's Resort was a great vacation site for our family. We had a three bedroom, three bath townhouse with full kitchen and two screened porches right next to the gorgeous resort pool. The location was convenient both for day-trip sightseeing to the middle keys and Key West as well as the southern Everglades. There were also easy to reach locales […] for kayak and jet ski rental. Although brief (2 nights), our stay was delightful. The facility lived up to expectations, however the larger pool was very cold, as was the grotto. We also had a weather cool spell at the same time. "Not a vacation spot"
I booked this "Resort" because my boyfriend and I were spending one last night in the Keys - without nieces and nephews. We were looking for a nice romantic night and got none of it. This place is a residence that rents out un-purchaced condos. A few of the problems - we were looking forward to the nice jacusee tub - which was non-existent. We were […] also looking forward to a nice quiet night after spending 8 days with a bunch of kids - that did not happen, either. The room we were in was below a residence. They were either moving in or coming back from a long vacation. We know they were residents because they had a dog - something residents can have but not guests. The people had children and all we heard were people running back and forth above us. And then, at least three times in the middle of the night we were woken up by a baby screaming. Finally, we couldn't even watch the sun rise or set because the place maybe ocean front, but there is not much that you can access. From the pictures and descriptions is looked like it would be a nice romantic night, but it ended up being a very non-relaxing end to our vacation. Les mer

"Great views, nice condo stay"
This stay was all around wonderful. Pool and spa were awesome! Classy style furniture and quiet neighborhood. My bf and I rented a boat at the marina next door. Kayak rental was free and guards were nice and accommodating. Will be back soon.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom villa that was ocean front. It had views that were absolutely gorgeous. The villa's carpet had many very bad stains. Otherwise the home was clean and comfortable. We expected more to do on the property - such as water sports - but the property is quiet with the pools and tennis court begin the only real option for outdoor activity. "Mariners Club - Where nobody meets"
We staied 3 days at the resort and had the luck to meet 3 (!) other guests in total. The villa was nice in terms of comfort but not acceptable in terms of cleanliness.

This is an incredible deal for what you get. Three stories and two nice rooms with great living room and kitchen. This was a lot more expensive last year I am sure. Great location and the best pool in the area.

"Excellent Property in the Keys"
I have stayed in many hotels/resorts in the Keys - this one is a stand out. For just a 2 night stay we couldn't have been happier. The only drawback was the BR was very small and only had a shower. Clean, private. Newer - which is rare in the Keys.

"Pleasantly surprised"
I searched long and hard for a hotel with positive reviews in the upper keys. This was not easy, but I finally settled on the Mariner since it's negative reviews were a year or more old. I was very happy with our overall stay. Room was large, clean, well furnished and appointed. Was it perfect - no, but very nice. We rented a 3 bedroom ocean front […] "town home". The "villas" are laid out on a single floor plan where the town homes are quite vertical. You have to walk up a steep flight of stairs to the living area and third, small bedroom and then up another steep flight of stairs for the master and second bedroom. The dive shop, adjacent to the hotel, which supplies the watersports is convenient and very friendly. The pool is huge, the largest in the keys -zero entry and surrounded by sand. The beach chairs have clearly been replaced since their negative review. The check-in staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful - once again probably new since the negative reviews. I do agree with those who have said it is not a resort. There is NO food or beverage service of any kind. The Mandalay restaurant closed in Sept 09. The hotel provides a list of nearby restaurants conveniently arranged by MM distance from the property. The property location is convenient to activities in both Key Largo and Islamorada. Les mer
"Rented a time-share condo thas was for sale"
Staff really unfriendly , our rented time-share condo really needs some remodeling. But it was for sale, so the owners don't care anymore. Many just small thinks were broken or didn't meet expectations (no bulbs in lamps etc.)

"Outstanding Hotel"
We only stayed here for one night. The front desk lady went above and beyond to explain the activities in the Northern Keys and the resort itself. The one bedroom apartments are on the lower level. Parking for guests is off on the side while the owners get to park directly in front of the door. The resort is in great condition. The only one thing that […] frightened me was a lady (which could have had one too many pina coladas) that was standing on the corner and saying very odd things. This was obviously not the resort's fault but still something that put a damper on my stay at the Mariner's Resort Villas and Marina. Les mer
"Perfect Family Retreat"
We absolutely loved our stay at the Mariner's Resort. The staff was friendly and helpful. The 3 bedroom unit was clean, comfortable and plenty of room for our family. The marina was also well kept and the dock master was friendly and helpful. Location was also ideal because it is between Key Largo and Islamorada.

This hotel has great rooms for the price. In Key Largo, having a kitchen means big savings for the family, as well as convenience. There are two grocery chains nearby so you can stock up for meals. The rooms were very modern and well appointed, and were very clean. The pools were very nice, and having the marina there is also very convenient. The grounds were beautiful and exactly what we wanted, but for the price the room was very plain and did not have any amenities. I was promised a jacuzzi tub and had a shower with barely any water pressure. The blinds fell in my hands when i tried to open them. There was no phone and although it says resort, this is not a resort. There is no room service, […] no towel service.
