The Oliver Hotel - Knoxville

Very nice staff and in a beautiful historic building. Would recommend to anyone going to knoxville.

room 314 was so noisy and loud - right on the corner of Market Squre....you could hear casual conversation 3 stories down Elevator may as well not exist (the only one and at snail's pace) stayed Thurs Feb 23-26th Though the bar is fun, the last 2 night was at 'capacity'?? and they wouldn't let us in- even though we were paying hotel guests if we were […] to be there agin, definitely get an inside room- Room was in bad shape (scratches on wall, horrid lighting in bathroom- good luck putting any make-up on!) I will stay here every time I am in Knoxville without exception. I have no complaints about anything. Perfect location, very convenient and within walking distance of all entertainment you could possible need. Food Movies, Shopping all within a 1 block radius. We were in town to see a concert at a nearby venue. When looking for a hotel, I at first was drawn to the familiar chains...until I saw the pictures of the Oliver Hotel! My wife and I spent a night in the Oliver while we were in town for a concert. I must say the staff was extremely polite, courteous and very professional. The hotel is beautiful and to our delight our king suite had been over booked and we were upgraded to the Oliver suite at no extra charge. this was described as 'a gem' by a well known travel guide so we thought we would treat ourselves. first it was very misleading to say there was free parking because - it was only free until the PUBLIC CAR PARK opened at 6 in the morning and the car park was open and unsecured. repeated questions to the check in staff did not make this clear and we […] were treated as being stupid. the rooms are well appointed but only marginally more so than most mid range chain hotels. there were 2 bottles of water in the room which we thought were complimentary - mistake ! the other side of the card says $2 each. there is no breakfast and there is no area to sit and enjoy some company. all-in-all a waste of time. Hidden gem in downtown knoxville!!!

Love the place. Seems they are still trying to finish up the renovations. Plumbing in shower was defective & lighting in bath was woefully inadequate! No way one could see to apply makeup! Fixtures were attractive but not bright! Still needs a bit of "tweaking"!

The Oliver was located right on the edge of this surprisingly small "city" and overlooked the main dining square. The Hotel is very clean and recently renovated, but kept its old charm. The rooms were well appointed for those who enjoy a little luxury and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the […] area, Did I mention the price was super low! Costs about 10% of what a similar hotel in NY would cost! Les mer

I had NO top sheet on my bed. I called at 9pm to the front desk to report it, and found out NO ONE WAS at the front desk. I left a voice mail - NO ONE CALLED. I slept with my housecoat as my top sheet. There was trash in the ice bucket-obviously no one checked it out when cleaning the room. No lamps were plugged in and there were no recepticle plates […] and I didn't know if the lamps were't plugged in because they were a fire hazard. The people were very nice the next am when I reported all this, and they did adjust my rate. However this was rated 4.5 stars on Hotel.com and that's why I booked a room in the first place. It obviously was NOT a luxary hotel as it was advertised. Les mer

Very cool boutique style hotel. 1 min walk to town square with restuarants, bars, and shopping. It is a very, very, old but historic hotel. The only downside is the walls are thin so you may hear your neighbors tv but other than that, its a nice brake from the standard chain hotels.

I loved this little boutique hotel! This is MY hotel when I am in Knoxville!
