I would definitely not choose this hotel again - the food was not very good, the halls and rooms seemed old...one elevator not nearly enough for the guest traffic, the parking token system was very inconvenient and the exterior is in need of a major reno...two thumbs down!

Beds were very comfy. Sink plug was broken. Heater made too much noise. It kept me awake the first night. Overall a satisfactory stay.

The hotel requires an overall update. As the staff was friendly (check-in, restaurant (breakfast) and Bistro bar, the overall appearance of the hotel is "old". Lobby has an odory smell and kind of dingy looking. Escalators and hallways dirty. Hallways have old red carpet, hallway redish and doors red and appear to have not seen new paint for a number […] of years. Lay-out from elevator through fire-doors rather strange. Room was clean, but carpeting worn and many areas dirty. Not enough electrical outlets. To hook up computer or re-charge cell phone only an extension bar on the ground was available. TV was not HD quality (not that it matters a lot), bedding was fine and clean. Towels in washroom old and hard, and shower head for a person >6feet far to low. This was a perfect location for the Montreal and TFC game. Within walking distance and not far at all from downtown. We stayed in the prestige room however the price really doesn't make it prestigious. Your just paying for a more modern room. It was very comfortable, view was beautiful. Service and staff was fantastic. I would stay here again.

We had come to Montreal to watch TFC . The hotel was good and the room was fine. The room was clean but the bathroom could have used a little update to glass instead of shower curtain. Just by adding glass that - would make it more elegant and lets say in style....The restaurant food - I am sorry to say but the food - I ordered "pizza and a salad " […] was not good at all. This hotel is a decent hotel, nothing to write home about, but no complaints either. It is super convenient for attending events at the Centre Pierre-Charbonneau but not much else. There aren't any restaurants or other things to do very close by. The hotel has a great restaurant inside though, with very friendly and helpful staff, and great food. Sunday […] has a breakfast and brunch buffet that is well worth the $13. The free parking is also nice, and not the norm in Montreal.Our TV in our room was very old (tube tv) and the picture was warped. But there was a mini fridge which is always handy. Les mer

Hotel Universel must have been the official hotel of the 1976 Olympics, and it has that "faded glory" look to it - a bit run-down, but still pretty nice. The staff was friendly and unobtrusive, the location was only a few km from where I needed to be, and it was nice to be by the old Olympic site.

Failing grade for restaurant. Very little staff, no fresh fruits, and I'm sure I asked for whole wheat toast, but receive white toast.

We stayed one night as it was convenient for visiting friends on our way from Toronto to Quebec City. The rooms were dated and had a smell (old carpeting, bedding, etc). Personnel was polite but not very efficient. Have stayed in better hotels for similar rates.

We enjoyed our stay. It was myself, my husband and our 10 year old son. Our son enjoyed the indoor pool. My husband and I enjoyed the Sauna and the Hot Tub. The restaurant was also very good and not too pricey. The staff was very helpful and patient. The shuttle service was amazing. The shuttle took us to the biodome, the metro and even to the local […] shopping mall. The hotel was close to many good restaurants. We ate at the Tiki place and wanted to eat at Madisons but did not have the time. The hotel was clean and safe. A very good value for the money. Les mer

Friendly staff, parking is included. There is an outdoor parking lot in front of the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. A 9 min drive to downtown montreal. Would definately stay there again

Perfect location and good hotel at a fair price! Free parking yet close to metro and a short ride from downtown and all the trendy neighborhoods. Wi-fi could use a bit of improvement, though. However, overall a very good choice.

Good hotel near the Olympic Stadium. Nice staff. Big parking lot. The good: nice staff and good location. The bad: there is not an express checkout. I paid through Expedia and had to make a 15 minutes line to checkout. Finally, beds were not comfortable, they were too hard. The ugly: there was mold in between the tiles of the shower.

Pro: hotel is clean, walking distance from the biodome Con: Older hotel, bed like cardboard, you can clearly hear your neighbour and the people in the corridor, overpriced for the quality and service. We chose this hotel because we needed a place to sleep for few hour and then visit the biodome and get back to the road the as soon as possible. Hotel staff were very helpful and overall excellent customer service! The premium room was modern and clean. It was nice to have a bar fridge and microwave in the room. Hotel location: awesome as they have a shuttle for those that want to take the metro nearby and also free parking was a real bonus!! I would not give this hotel 4 stars. Could use some renovating and upgrades. TV's should be replaced, be good if you didn't have to get out of bed to work the remote! Carpet had a big melted area from an iron, when we used the bathroom amenities on day one they were not replaced. The bed was very comfortable, clean sheets and comforter. They were doing something on the parking lot. We left our van parked in their parking lot and when we got back all car was dusty and dirty. No sign or anything about this upcoming work at the parking lot! Spent 15$ for car wash. They are just not responsible for anything happened in their parking lot! Not enough light in washroom, carpet stained, no kleenex in the room, despite of check out time 11 .00-am 3x since 9.00 am we were asked if we are leaving soon. Other than that OK for 1 night stay.

Enjoyed our stay and the Botanical Garden, to which it's a short drive or not too long of a walk. Lots of pedestrians due to a sporting event at the nearby stadium that was just finishing as we arrived. The hotel restaurant food was ok but not great. Nice view from our 7th floor room.

Initially I was put off as we entered the parking lot because the attendant was so rude and dismissive of my wife and I. I'm not sure what that was all about but the parking attendant couldn't have been less helpful. The room had obviously been renovated fairly recently because it looked new and modern. Everything was in great shape. As noted in some […] previous reviews the hotel has a fair bit of noise transference between the rooms. You might want to invest in a pair of ear plugs. The staff front desk staff were helpful and friendly. The area was fine - looked and felt safe to us. The hotel is across from a large park. There are several restaurants down the street. The Metro is around a 10 minute walk away and takes about 15 minutes to get downtown. We did not use our car for the 3 days that were there. We would stay here again. Les mer
