Hotel Villa Fiorita - Sorrento

We (2 adults+ 2 childeren age12 & 14) enjoyed our stay for 6 days in July 2010 very much. The hotel is situated way up in in the Sorrento hills: Incredible view to Vesuv & the Naples Bay, short distances to nearby towns (ex.: Positano, Pompei), Capri, beaches, restaurants and so on. The hotel is not real easy to get to. There is a bus from the train station, but you have to make sure you take the right bus. The bus ride is about 20 minutes, but if you tell the driver the hotel name, the stop is right in front of the hotel. The hotel itself is clean, but a bit dated. The shower was postage stamp size. If you have a postcard sized […] body, it may be hard to wash your feet! The breakfast was adequate. Limited selection, but sufficient. Buses from the hotel to Sorrento and the Amalfi coast are frequent and easy to use, once you get the hang of it. The views from our balcony were spectacular. Les mer

The Hotel Villa Fiorita beautiful situated on the foothills overlooking sorrento with bus stop located conveniently located directly outside the front door with service running every 20mins approx. The hotel is family run and managed and the family are very friendly with a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas also excellent english to communicate […] same. The rooms while basic are immaculate and reflect pictures shown above. The rooms are individually airconditioned allowing you total control on room temp. If i was to critisise it would be with haste but showers are small and water pressure is low with fixed shower heads. All in all i would regard this hotel as the one of the best we stayed in whilst in Italy and would return and recommend to anybody planning a trip to sorrento. Les mer

Although a little far from the town centre, the view made this hotel worth it. As well, the bus stop is right outside the hotel so it is convenient to get to the town centre.

We would definitely stay again at the Hotel Villa Fiorita as it's mountain-top vista of beautiful Sorrento's harbour and town below is just spectacular! We found the lighting in the washroom rather dark; it took a long time to draw hot water in the sink but not quite as long in the shower. Would liked to have known that the villa had a rooftop patio; […] we found out, by chance, on our last day. We could have made good use of this as poolside was totally shaded by 3:00 p.m. Shuttle service to restaurants on the hill were excellent. All in all our stay was relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting on our balcony and taking in the wonderful scenery! Les mer

The room was great; the hotel was up a hill from Sorrento,it overlooked the city and bay. The sunrise came right in our balcony door. Breakfast was fine. the staff was very helpful. The only drawback was that the only way to go to and from the hotel was by bus, taxis were extremely expensive~40 euro one way. In general the buses ran one/hour.

Outstanding hotel.....great staff and stunning views of the bay and of the mountains

This hotel is about 15 minutes outside of Sorrento, up on a hill. The views are incredible, its nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nice hotel, the owner is very friendly and accomodating. He also has prepared a terrific travel information package for each room. There is nothing he wouldn't do for you. To be fair and honest, the […] location can be a bit of an issue for some people though. The road to the property is narrow and winding. The bus stops right in front of the hotel, but it can be a bit of a harrowing ride for those who may not travel well. In the busy summer months, the buses are very busy and you may spend the duration of the ride packed in right against the door. Restaurants nearby are very accomodating in terms of coming to the hotel to pick you up, and this is arranged through the front desk. We would recommend staying there, but you need to be ok with the idea that anywhere you want to go will involve a bus ride that will be reminiscent to some of a carnival ride. My wife is prone to a bit of motion sickness and the bus ride for her was sometimes an issue, but even with that she is still very happy to have stayed here. The owners make sure that all your needs are met, the pool has a stunning view of the city and Vesuvius and it is the kind of place that makes you feel like you are home. Les mer

Positives: clean and confortable room, some satellite channels, free wifi in reception, wonderful view from some rooms and from the pool, good value drinks and ice creams. Negatives: I would only stay here if you had a hire car otherwise it's too out of the way. There is a bus service that runs from outside the hotel but if you miss the last bus or […] it's full, getting a taxi will cost 45 euros. The breakfast was very basic. This hotel is in the most spectacular location with amazing views over Sorrento and Vesivius. The downside is that it means it is a little out of Sorrento, but the bus stop is just outside the door, and only a 15 minute trip. The hotel itself is slightly tired, and doesn't have great variety for breakfast. The pool overlooking Sorrento is a lovely area. […] The other big plus is the staff - they could not have been more helpful. We would highly recommend the boat trips recommended by the hotel - to both the Amalfi Coast and Capri. Amalfi, Postiano, Capri and Pompeii are all musts whilst you are staying - and all easily accessible. Our personal favourite was Ravello, and the to die for views from the gardens. Sorrento itself is lovely in the evenings, with real character. We would definitely recommend the hotel. Les mer

This hotel was fantastic...the view was amaaazing. I definitely recommend splurging for the 'sea view' rooms, because it's a spectacular view of the bay and the city. The only problem with the hotel was that it was way up the hill from the city, which required a 15 minute busride to get to and from the hotel. If you're coming from the train station, […] definitely contact the hotel first about how to get to the hotel, because we spent a lot of money on a cab when we could have taken a bus. If you want to be in the middle of Sorrento, this is not the hotel for you. But it was sort of nice to be away from the city and have your own little oasis. The hotel has a fairly decent breakfast, a bar, a pool, etc etc so you could almost just stay there the whole time. Highly recommend. Les mer

Took awhile to find.... Located in the hills of Sorrento, far away from downtown and alot of the nice sights to see. No restaurant on site (a real bummer). Upside to this hotel is the afforadable price and nice staff. Your call.....

Before checking in, we had booked a room with a garden view. A room with a mountain view was available when we checked in, and this was given to us at no extra charge. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was a bit small but that seems to be the norm for Italian hotels. Great value for what you pay. Breakfast buffet is also included and […] the ham and cheese is to die for. If you don't have a car, you need to take a bus to get to the train station or Amalfi Coast. These buses don't come very often so make sure to plan your day accordingly. Would definitely stay here again! Les mer

It was very difficult to find the hotel, quite far from Sorrento. The view was very nice and breakfast OK.

Beautiful views with excellent service. Only drawback was that it was quite far away from the town so we had to get a lot of buses as we didn't hire a car. Otherwise a very beautiful setting for a holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay here but the location was kind of surprise for us. The google map shows that the hotel is right at the ocean which is not true. It is very far from it and you do need bus to go to the coast or around the sorrento. The bus service is ok, not very frequent so you need to plan your trip according to their timings. They […] offer a delicious breakfast consisting of coffees, lattes, cappucinos, fresh fruits, yogurts, cereal, and the best ever fresh baked nutella croissants! Also available is a shuttle service to a nearby restaurant called Le Palme which offers breathtaking views and amazing food (one of the best meals I've had in Italy!) The hotel Villa Fiorita exceeded our expectations. The hotel is situated above the city of Sorrento with an incredible view over the Bay of Naples. From the roof top terrace one can see the island of capri and the most beautiful sunsets!! The hotel has much to offer. I traveled with two young children and we had no complaints. The staff was incredible […] and very helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious and well appointed. The view from our balcony was spectacular. Breakfast was efficient, a variety of croissants and cereals, fruit and yogurt. Perfect to start a wonderful day in the Amalfi Coast. The hotel offered car service to several restaurants in the area. Try Le Palme. Fantastic food and the view...WOW!!! The pool was clean and the grounds were well maintained. There is no parking, however the hotel offers a valet service free of charge. It was truly a fantastic experience. I would return to Villa Fiorita on my next trip to Sorrento. Les mer

The Hotel was located very far from the Sorrento Center. You must take a bus or taxi for about 30 minutes to actually get to and from the hotel. Once you are up at the hotel, you have a beautiful view of the ocean. We feel that the hotel was beautiful but we didn't enjoy the city as much as we would've liked to because of the location of the hotel.

The view from this hotel, whether you have a sea-view room or not, is one of several factors making this hotel a great value for a stay in the Sorrento area. The best views are from the large terrace sun-deck at the end of the 2nd floor hallway, so don’t bother to spend the extra money to upgrade to a sea-side room, if money is an object. The large […] sun-deck can serve as your balcony, and with a property this small, I doubt you’ll ever find it overrun by other guests. From there you have an incredible view of Sorrento’s bay, where you can watch cruise ships come and go, and even catch them literally sailing off into the sunset on the backside of the peninsula. The pool was really nice, clean, and ample deck space for lounging around. Room size was small, especially the bathroom, but certainly adequate by European standards, clean, and definitely more than a good trade off for the location and views to make this a great value, at an already good price. The family-run atmosphere and staff service was nice. And, they graciously offered free wifi internet access in the lobby as long as the front desk was working, which was usually until around midnight. Location was a huge plus overall for us. We were far enough removed from Sorrento to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the setting above the bay, yet in 15-20 minutes (by car) we could be exploring the rich and romantic quaintness of Sorrento below, and enjoying a wide range of fare from the local eateries. We were also just an hour away from Pompeii, or other popular worthwhile sites in the Naples area. If you’re driving by car to this area, beware. The narrow winding roads are breath-taking in two ways. One, the views are just incredible, but if you’re the driver, you have to leave those to your passengers to enjoy, since the close calls with cars, buses, and scooters will have you gasping enough. Nice place, check out the adjoining hotel, it's almost identical and cheaper. Beautiful views and area, but be careful, we booked a ocean view room thinking we had a balcony but all we got was a window you could see the bay from if you leaned out.

This hotel is about 20 mins outside Sorrento. If you arrive by train to Sorrento do not get a taxi up to the hotel...cost us about €50! there are buses in front of the train station that go to the door of the hotel- they will have a sign saying Amalfi via Nastro Verde or San Agata via Nastro Verde. Just double check with the driver. Also note that this […] hotel does not have a restaurant on site. Town close by called San Agata is fab, only 5-10 mins walk. hotel has amazing views of the bay and the staff are really great! Very helpful!! Very nice! And quite a reasonable price. Beautiful view and nice breakfast. Room was very clean and although we were only there in the evenings and the weather was still a little cool, the balcony was nice and would be amazing in the summer. It's a bit of a trip up to the hotel but by bus is easy and inexpensive and we bought "Arte Cards" which covers […] trains and buses in the whole area which I would highly recommend if you are staying at this hotel (covers other admissions to) and touring the area There is a bus stop right at the Hotel which is Very handy to get back to Sorrento and go to Amalfi and they give you a bus schedule as you check in. It's family run and I forgot my jacket on the bus back from Amalfi but the one brother took the time to phone the bus company and the other brother went to the bus station to see if he could find it which I REALLY appreciated. No luck finding it but I really appreciated the effort and we really enjoyed our stay. One other tip. If you're going to Capri the ferry is a little pricey and hard to get there in time with buses but their tour at the Hotel was turned out to be very reasonalbly priced and we would have done that if we had figured that out before our last night. Very nice family run hotel...very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful views of the bay (the photos on the web are not deceiving. It was definitely worth the trip to and from Sorrento on the CITA bus but you need to account for that time if you are using Sorrento as a place to travel to other locations. The bus is fairly frequent but when accounting […] for the Circumvesuviana train to get to Pompeii, Caserta, Naples, etc. (train runs every 30 minutes), the time adds up. A view was our objective and we were very pleased. It did take longer to get to points outside of Sorrento due to the 20 minute bus ride on the SITA bus to the train station but the bus stop is literally at the hotel's door. The staff was very pleasant and helpful - breakfast buffet was also excellent.

O Hotel Villa Fiorita, localizado em Sorrento, que é a porta de entrada da costa amalfitana, fica localizado há cerca de 05 quilômetros do centro de Sorrento, mas tem ônibus que circula em toda a costa (Empresa SITA, compra-se o ticket […] na estação de trem, onde é o ponto final, custa 2,40 euros para uma viagem e 7,2 euros para 24 horas) e tem um ponto em frente ao hotel, fazendo que fique acessível. O hotel tem um clima familiar, com atendimento muito carinhoso. As dependências são aconchegantes e o café da manhã é muito bom. Recomendamos o hotel. Les mer

Accueil très sympathique et dévoué, hotel un peu désuet dans sa décoration et ses prestations.

Hotel simples mas agradavel e familiar, recomendo. Fica um pouco longe do centro da cidade, mas o onibus que sai do centro, perto da estacao ferroviaria, para em frente ao hotel. E' tranquilo e o clima de montanha, mesmo no verao, e' agradavel. Gostei bastante. O cafe' da manha e' bom e o pessoal da recepcao e' bem prestativo.

La posizione dell'Albergo è un po lontana dal centro, pero il panorama davvero splendido... Lo staff è molto gentil disponibili ed ospitali Grazie

The staff was very friendly and the hotel clean with awesome views. The location of the hotel gives you a good opportunity to walk a lot in the surrounding areas of Sorrento and see the whole city. Though the hotel is pretty far from the centre, it was well organised and offered good dining and restoration possibilities with transportation.

Hotel de instalaciones modestas, sin grandes pretensiones, típicas de un lugar de 3*, tanto en las habitaciones como en la zona de desayuno (no hay restaurante). La habitación era pequeña, pero limpia y suficiente. El personal amable y dispuesto. Posibilidad de conexion a internet wifi, bebidas frescas, helados. Situación alejada de Sorrento (unos 15 […] mn en coche). Lo cual tiene su desventaja (te tienes que desplazar en coche y eso es una tortura, para aparcar en Sorrento), y una ventaja: es un lugar muy tranquilo, para descansar en la piscina o en el solarium. Tienen un acuerdo con varios restaurantes próximos a buenos precios, y te facilitan el transporte hasta allí. Lo mejor indudablemente las espectaculares vistas sobre el golfo de Sorrento. Les mer

Vom Hotel, bei Buchung mit Meerblick, ein unvergeßlicher Ausblick auf Sorrent, Golf und Vesuv. Hotel liegt 6 km von Sorrent entfernt an der steilen, kurvigen Küstenstrasse. Bushaltestelle vor der Tür, dennoch nachts sehr ruhig. Freundliches Personal, gutes Frühstück. Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Toller Swimmingpool mit vielen Liegestühlen. WLANempfang nicht […] ausreichend. Belle vue, un peu éloigné de Sorrento, mais il y a une station de bus. Superbe terrasse individuelle. Petit déjeuner excellent. Accueil excellent avec infos sur toute la région. Nous avions loué une voiture le patron la déplacait toutes les nuits pour la garer en lieu sûr. Salle de bain un peu petite. Je recommande l'hôtel.

mycket trevligt och familjärt-som Fawlty Towers utan alla tokigheter.Synd att det inte fanns restaurang i huset. Däremot ordnades bil till o från en närliggande restaurang och man hade möjlighet att få en "större varm macka" på hotellet. Sängen var ganska obekväm, men allt runt omkring var bra, pool, solaltan och persona,l så det sammantagna omdömet […] är gott Les mer

Hotellet är bra och trevligt och inte så dyrt. Men man behöver åka buss för att ta sig till olika platser och det kan ta sin tid att vänta och komma rätt. Bra om man har egen bil eller scooter.

We had most pleasent stay in Villa Fiorita. All the personnel were very friendly and helpful the whole week we stayed there. The whole week we had 30+ degrees; the pool in the yard saved us :) They didn't have a restaurant in Villa Fiorita but arragements were good; they had three good restaurant close by who offered free transportation both ways.

Hotellet låg högt över Sorrento med en fantastisk utsikt över staden. Poolen var trevlig och frukosten var god med sitt grova bröd vilket ju är ovanligt i Italien. Rummen var väldigt fina och rena men just vårt rum var otroligt lyhört. Personalen var mkt hjälpsam och ville man åka ner till stan så gick det bussar.
