Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester Hotel - Manchester

Close to centre of Manchester; very pleasant hotel. Unfortunately there was a political party conference nearby which meant a large part of surrounding area was cordoned off, with large police presence. Very comfortable room Good breakfast in the morning

Stayed for one night to celebrate friends birthday. Lovely hotel (have stayed once before).Disappointed that we did't have any biscuits on the tea tray and not a bottle of water in the room or even the option of taking one from the mini bar as it was locked. This is a 5 star hotel after all.

Very good hotel great for visit to the Bridgewater theatre.

I try to use the Raddison every time I am in Manchester on business. it is a superb hotel wiht efficient, obliging and friendly staff and the hotel is always in very good condition. It is ideally located in the centre of Manchester and on occasions when I can't get a booking here and have to use some of the other city centre hotels I am reminded of […] just how nice this hotel really is . Stayed overnight for a theatre visit, fantastic hotel in a central location, made all the better by the great rate from Hotels.com

Love a weekend and Theatre in Manchester so decided to have a change from our usual choice of staying at the Lowry and gave the Radisson a try. Not disappointed ! Great staff & buzzin atmosphere and our room was fantastic. Trendy, clean and comfortable. Cocktails in the bar and the Breakfast the following morning were scrumptious. Beautiful modern and comfortable hotel in central Manchester. Excellent spa, 2 lovely restaurants and very comfortable rooms. I would stay there again.

Excellent Hotel, but we had to pay extra for Breakfast when we thought we had booked a Wedding Package. But the price of the drinks appeared to rocket in the wee sma' hours!

Great central location, nice warm, well equipped, clean rooms. The staff could not have been more helpfull if they tried - wonderful, professional staff. They didn't even roll their eyes when I arrived back at 3 in the morning with stillettos in hand! ;)

The room was well appointed and very comfortable but unfortunately the minifridge had not been checked since the middle of July because I found a packet of M&S cooked chicken pieces there with a use by date of 18.07.11. The housekeeper came an removed these very quickly. The hotel foyer and the corridor from the lift to our room had a strange smell […] reminiscent of cleaning fluid but it could have been the new carpet. Also, when I opened a wardrobe door the door to the safe sprang open and hit me on the forehead. Perhaps the safe doors should be kept closed. The main hotel restaurant was excellent and we had a fabulous meal there. Les mer

Fantastic location and the staff went out of there way to please

Within ten to fifteen minutes walk of anything in the city centre, this is an extremely comfortable hotel with very high quality staff in all functions. The Opus 1 restaurant is very good if you want in-house dining but there are a large number of good restaurants nearby as well. A couple of minor niggles: - the mini bar automatically records even […] the movement of an item as a purchase, so shifting a can of coke to store some fresh milk went on my bill as a purchase. - every single drink and tip in the hotel bar appeared to be itemised separately rather than on a tab by tab basis - one consequence of which is that I missed the random mini bar figures on the morning of my checkout. Overall I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. I did not have a car with me and if you do, then local parking is expensive but there may be some discount offered by the Radisson but I don't know for sure. Les mer

I've stayed in the Radission Edwardian a few times now and it's always great, lovely big clean rooms, comfy beds, great service and breakfasts and spa. It is a little more pricey than other hotels in Manchester but I booked as I thought it would be worth the money, however despite booking well in advance and checking in early the room didn't have a […] great view, was a bit smaller than normal and lacked something special (e.g. shampoo on dispensers rather than minis). Don't get me wrong, it's still a great hotel but they need to add some more of the little extras to make it worth the premium I think. Les mer

We booked this hotel quite last minute as we were coming up to manchester for the concert and everywhere was very full...had a good deal and couldnt have been happier with the service and the position of the hotel. The only draw backs were the prices in the hotel bar, 4 drinks £32! & our twin room was obviously kitted out for people with physical disabilities […] and the shower was fitted with a disabled friendly seat, which when folded up, still left very little room for anyone standing!!! Other than that, the staff couldnt have been more helpful, & everything was spotless. We loved our stay here & I have already recommended it to many friends. Les mer

Great Hotel - Great Location - Staff very helpful - Nice pool. Beds too soft - Drinks very expensive - £14 for two Tia Maria's with no mixer!

Excellent room and great location for Opera House and restaurants.

Lovely staff everywhere: reception, pool/gym, bar, restaurant. Friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble, really made the difference to the atmosphere of a swish modern hotel that could otherwise have been intimidating. Delightful pool, nicely designed room and bathroom, delicious breakfast. Only quibbles were that the bedroom windows cannot […] be opened but the air conditioning was a bit noisy and didn't seem to cool the room effectively (even though it was not hot outside that night); and the blinds didn't quite cover the windows fully so that from dawn on shafts of light woke us up. If you are not particularly sensitive to light or air con noise, everything else was lovely and I would highly recommend it on that basis. Les mer

First stay in this Hotel, close to all amenities. Great `buzz` in Opus bar and about hotel in general. Breakfasts excellent. Booked a De Luxe room and would have expected a more spacious/ appointed room for a 5 * hotel, but nevertheless had a very enjoyable stay.

Had a great stay in the Radisson, room was nicely decorated and spacious and the location of the hotel could not be better. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

This was my first visit to the hotel, having stayed in many over the years. I was very pleased with staff, who were kind and thoughtful. Upon arriving at my room I received a call to enquire if everything was to my satisfaction. The rooms were very well equipped, and the layout was bright and very comfortable.

Very comfortable with highly convenient in-room facilities.We booked room only, but availed ourselves of bar service- which was at the price expected of this type of hotel. The entertainment provided separately was obviously enjoyed by the customers, but the expected noise, despite having considerable decibel value in the halls and corridors, did not […] penetrate the rooms. The initial view on the 6th floor of many surrounding roofs could be a blot on the landscape, but given the history of these buildings, it was very interesting to study them in the context of "Old Manchester".. We arrived at hotel in the morning not expecting to be able to go to our room, however it was ready for us and we were shown up immediately. Room was lovely, clean and a good size - bathroom and facilities were excellent - it had a shower/wet room and bath. Tea coffee in room too. We attended a wedding at this venue and the hotel staff looked after […] us and the guests very well. Breakfast was self-service but the food was hot and a good choice. Checkout was also very easy and all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The spa was very good too - I swam and had a sauna a jacuzzi before breakfast ! Would recommend this hotel. Only downside is that you have to park in NCP car park and that is quite expensive for an overnight stay - I believe it was £15! but all central hotels in Manchester will probably have the same parking problems. Drinks in the hotel bar are not cheap - but then that is to be expected in this type of hotel. Les mer

This is a very well furnished and comfortable hotel. However, I don't think I have ever had a 10% service charge added to a pint of beer when sat at the bar. Everything in the hotel is quite over-priced and it is quite lively and noisy, not relaxing. Even at breakfast, it was more like being in a busy bar than a relaxed restaurant. This hotel is in a great location, the room I stayed in was small but adequate. Like most 5 star hotels they offer a turn-down service in the evening for your bedding, however a few things let this hotel down. The food in the restaurant was very nice nothing spectacular. Breakfast is buffet style with no opportunity to order off-menu. The toiletries […] in the room are fixed to the wall, which I consider a trait of the 3-star hotel. When compared with other 5 star hotels I would regrade this as a 4 Star. Les mer

Excellent hotel; conveniently placed in centre of Manchester. Superb staff, from friendly welcome at Reception to all in bars and restaurant. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, paricularly at the room rate which we paid.

I couldnt travel to manchester on the dates that i had booked and so i tried to change the dates with them. But they would not help me out at all. Hotels.ie did everything they coud to help but the hotel were not helpful or understanding at all. In the end we didnt travel as it would have cost us too much to rebook another hotel- so there was no holiday […] for us. All in all their customer service needs to improve. Les mer

Great hotel although its such a shame money hasn't been invested in the area immediately around this hotel. Walking out onto the main street is fine in the day time, but at night - watch out for revellers and vomit!

Great Service, Great Location, would highly recommend.

This would pass as an ok 3 star hotel it is not a 5 star property. My room was small and not luxurious in any way it flet like a travel lodge.

This hotel was very nice, particularly for the price. The only gripe i had was that i could not turn off the television. I am not stupid either but this was a pain as i had to have it on a blank channel all night which still gave off light in the room.

Room unbearably very hot, no opening window, no fresh air available. In room fan not very good and extremely noisy, not suitable for leaving on at night so as to reduce the temperature in the room. Not proper air conditioning in rooms, the difference can be noticed when entering public rooms. Why do experienced hotel chains allow designers who are only […] out for awards loose on their rooms? No mirror at a sensible level for wife to put on make-up, yet there were 2 full length mirrors. Interactive T.V. wasn't, only half the facilities worked. Wardrobe door handles were a small solid square of metal, very difficult to pull door open. Shower allowed water to go all over the bathroom floor. Why would you want a magnifying mirror at face level in a shower when there isn't one near the desk for make-up etc. Lighting poor. Window blinds didn't keep out light from full length window. Nice idea to have an ice machine on the landing but what do I put the ice in? No bucket.....had to go and fill up the glass every time. Bed turn down service a good idea. Concierge car parking onto a NCP car park £30 per night.....come on....that's somewhat steep don't you think. No shower cap in the box, what a time to find out when you are stripped for the shower. Staff good and helpful. Glass bathroom door with large gap underneath, from the room could see the feet of person on toilet. Washbasin in seperate area so could not wash hands before touching door handles etc. Very modern, very slick, very poor ideas I am afraid. Didn't eat in the hotel so not able to review food. However, as previously mentioned the staff were great. Would I stay again, NO. Les mer

very very impressed having stayed in hotels all over the world. Reception excellent.Concierge very professional.Staff immaculately dressed. Room lovely,bathroom beautiful and so clean. Took a while to find the hairdryer - in the bathroom cabinet ! One pillow not enough,2 too many,tricky but not the end of the world. Bathrobes had seen better days,a […] bit raggy. No spaces left for any treatments at the Spa,not surprising as hen parties staying. Pool very nice but small. Steam room not working.Changing room very small for such a large and luxurious hotel. In essence,spa and pool facilities didn't come up to the mark. Breakfast lovely. Some staff a bit grumpy but overall fine. You can definitely see why it has a four to five star rating. The only negative thing i can say is that it is very difficult to find if you are driving and have never been there before. Even with a GPS in the car and the address, there are no signs visible from the main street to let you know which building is the Radisson. Once I found the hotel, everything […] was great. Les mer

Stayed for one night, and was very impressed with the hotel, excellent service and the standard of food and room were very good. Majority of the staff were very friendly and efficient, only negative part of the stay was the arrogance of the bar staff, who probably need a refresher course in customer service.
