Greit hotell hvis ditt eneste formål med det er å sove. Ville kanskje ikke ha reist hit på familieferie, men for en guttetur til statene er dette helt greit. Trivelig betjening og TV med uttallige amerikanske kanaler, samt noen meksikanske. I tillegg var det bussavganger rett utenfor døren og et boblebad som virkelig kommer til sin rett etter lange, […] solfylte dager i vestkystens kosligte by. Frokosten var ikke all verden, men man finner blant annet frokostrestauranten Denny's 100 meter unna. Alt i alt fornøyd! Les mer

Vi ankom veldig seint og bodde her kun en natt, men de lot oss sove en time lengre og var svært hyggelige og informative i resepsjonen. Alt man trenger for et kort opphold.

The hotel was conveniently located and the two bedroom suite met our needs. However the hotel is older and in need of repairs or some renovation. The shower had some rust stains. Breakfast was available and well presented. Sweet rolls were great.

This hotel is a bit further away from the sights, but it's a pretty cheap cab fare to central State St. I'd recommend if you're trying to save some money and want something a bit more quiet. It's nice that they also have a hot tub and pool.

A bit far from the beach. Well appointed and maintained but hot water never go hot!

Given that the hotel was a 2 star, I should not have expected much. The rooms are extremely run down and old. The carpet and entire room felt "musty". I should have paid a little more for a nicer place. The front office staff was very courteous and nice. I did appreciate the free breakfast and wifi. I wouldn't let my kids take their socks off in the […] room. It's a good thing...their socks were FILTHY at the end of the stay. Les mer

We were visiting the UCSB campus and needed a room for one night. The Sandpiper was a good value and close enough to everything we wanted to do. Safe neighborhood, clean room, so so breakfast.

I was excited to stay here based on previous reviews. BUT we barely got any sleep bc the walls are so thin I here EVERYTING outside and in the adjoining rooms. Hair on towels. Fridge not plugged in. Very OLD structure and decorating. The power went out due to a storm which was frustrating. Thought they would have a generator. The location is the good […] thing about thos hotel. It is ON state street just down a Few miles from the shopping. Close to a whole foods. Wouldn't stay here again even though it was a great SB trip overall Les mer

We liked our stay at the Sandpiper, but the only problem was that you can NOT walk into downtown Santa Barbara -- it's just far enough outside of the downtown that you need to drive in for dinner. Something I didn't know when we booked!

Hotel was in a nice part of town with plenty of food and shopping choices. Easy drive to beach and college campus. We were in town to visit UCSB.

Comfortable beds, adequate continental breakfast, efficient staff, some mold stains in and around bathtub needed attention, but otherwise great hotel at a good price - especially for Santa Barbara

Nice & safe 2 tar hotel, fairly clean. Bathtub drain was too slow. Great location for restaurants, etc. Overall really good deal for SB.

This hotel needs some serious upgrading. The rooms look like it's still stuck in the '80's era, especially the carpeting. Room was relatively large which was a plus but it was just very outdated. I'm also not a fan of hotels with rooms in an outdoor corridor. At about 7:30-8 AM I was woken up by loud drilling and hammering that was coming from the room […] below mine. Management should've told me that they were doing construction there or otherwise put me in another room away from all of the noise. The noise didn't stop until I checked out that morning. I informed the person at the front desk and he seemed unaware of the issue and noted that it should only be painting that was going on in the room below mine and that he was sorry. I didn't bother to even request a partial refund because I just wanted to get out of there. The hotel is on State St about 2.5 miles from where the action is so it's kind of a convenient location however, I wouldn't stay there again. Les mer

This hotel is a good value for Santa Barbara. It's not modern, but is well-maintained. In addition, we found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful.

The motel was outdated with a very ugly and boring architecture. There was a tiny pool and jacuzzi inside a dumpster like confined area. The room had VERY old bedding and saggy mattress. The walls were paper thin and my girlfriend and I were easily disturbed with every foot step, conversation, tv noise outside our door. Consequently, the room was not […] insulated and it was dampy and freezing. The bathroom tub had a leaky faucet. However, the worst part of it all was discovering dried blood stains on the bedsheets. We called the front desk to have fresh sheets put on. There's no way a maid could overlook that. Thats either pure negligence or the sheets had't been changed since the room's last occupants. I implore you not to visit this roach motel. Les mer

The helpful staff knew the name of a local restaurant I had visited in the past but couldn't remember the name. We were able to make reservations easily and enjoyed dinner at Elements right across from the beautiful courthouse. San Marcos Pass took us over to the Santa Ynez Valley for wine tasting and a stop in Solvang. On the way back we stopped for […] dinner at Cold Spring Tavern, a true must on any visit to Santa Barbara. Driving out on the Santa Barbara wharf is fun and we visited a wonderful art show along the beach. The staff at Sandpiper was very courteous and let our two-car party leave one vehicle a couple hours after check-out so we could sightsee together on our last day. I fly to the Santa Barbara/Ventura area four or five times a year. I've stayed at a number of motels over the years but I like the Sandpiper because of it's convenient location to the freeway, beaches, local shops and businesses. The Sandpiper is affordable, the rooms are always clean and quite and the staff is helpful and professional.

Clean and comfortable, BUT the walls are super thin and every closing / opening of a door in any room make the whole room shake. Also when the room next door uses the shower it makes an extreemely loud and annoying noise. Also the WiFi is impossibly slow, I could barely check eMails.

Given the price point versus other local options, I would stay hear again the next time with no question. Perhaps some people whom don't travel often, their expectations may be unreasonable. Having travelled for years, I was perfectly satisfied.

This was a nice stay at this hotel and I am from SB. The only thing was we could hear people upstairs. But really that wasn't too bad at all. Parking was kind of bad too. We had to park in a parking area because 2 trucks were blocking 2 more spaces that I could have had. so we had to walk in the cold night to get to our room :( but the hotel itself […] was really nice :) i was pleased with the stay there. The walls were paper thin AND there was no hot water for a morning shower. We mentioned it to the front desk when we left. The response was a mere shrug. Not quite what I expected. Location was good.

This hotel is a good buy for Santa Barbara. There are resturants within walking distance. The only drawback is major attractions (the mission, zoo, waterfront and downtown) are a few miles away - although public transit is readily available.
