De Vere Venues Hunton Park - London

Hunton Park er et fint hotell med en flott park omkring, men hotellet ligger langt fra det meste og egner seg best som et konferansehotell, noe det nok også primært brukes som. Grunnen til at vi valgte det var nærheten til Harry Potter studios, som ligger rett ved, så som sådan var oppholdet helt greit. Det var litt vanskelig å finne hotellet og selv […] GPS'en hadde problemer. Spisemulighetene i nærheten er svært begrensede og menyen på hotellet var ikke veldig imponerende. Min datter har melkeallergi og selv om vi var veldig tydelige på dette da vi bestilte middag så klarte de ikke å unngå å bruke masse ost på retten, så de små detaljene som gjør et hotellopphold til det helt spesielle manglet på Hunton Park. Da vi skulle inn til London ble vi anbefalt å ta en taxi inn til Watford stasjon og ikke bruke bilen, da taxi ville koste stort sett det samme som å parkere på stasjonen, noe som viste seg å være langt fra riktig siden taxi kostet tre ganger så mye som parkering på stasjonen. Flott sted, men små rom. Men har strykebrett/jern, vannkoker tv og alt slik utenom en minibar. Nydelige uterom, men langt unna butikker og restauranter.

Hotel was adequate, not the best and not the worst, one point is not to be deceived by the amazing photos of the house, the only chance you have to see this is as you turn left into the car park (the hotel is a separate building with no access to it)

There isn't a closer hotel for the Harry Potter Studio tour; it’s about 5 minute drive twenty min walk. The prices of the hotel food are not to bad but because of the drink prices we decided not to eat there. The price of wine/alcohol was ridiculous! So our nice dinner and drinks at the hotel idea was thrown out the window. We drove around and googled […] restaurants near Watford about ten min away from the hotel we found a Harvester which we ate at and was amazing. There was also a Frankie and Benny’s, TGI Fridays and more! Shame we couldn’t drink though as we had to drive. Hotel was ok as it was dirt-cheap but we wouldn’t of paid any more than we did for it. But if you want somewhere you can chill in the evening with drinks and a nice meal go somewhere else. Les mer

The hotel is located very conveniently off the M1 and very near to Luton Airport. I found it a good overnight stopover during a cross-country business trip. A beautiful country manor that has been part-converted, offering comfortable well decorated rooms and a bar and restaurant that offers good snacks and meals and excellent service. This hotel is just the job if you need an overnight stay in the area, for business or a social stop. The main body of the hotel is a grand older building, with the majority of accomodation housed in a fairly new annex, connected to the main hotel. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable; if a little on the small side. Once you're out of your bed, […] you're either at the desk or in the bathroom, which again is modern and clean with a decent enough size bath. I had breakfast in the morning, which was standard hotel fare, certainly nothing to complain about. Business-wise, the location is excellent, just a couple of minutes from the M25/A41. If you arrive at night, be aware that the hotel sign and driveway is not very well lit (I missed the turning on my first pass!) Les mer

The actual hall and location is beautiful. If you are staying in the hotel it is a modern bolt on building next to the old hall. The pool was ok but the changing rooms were not very good. They weren't very clean and there was water all over the floor, probably because the shower curtains were broke. If you need a good, clan nights sleep, this is your […] place. The actual accommodation is in a very plain cheaply built brick annex. You don't actually stay or even enter into the main house area (which is what all the photos show). Poor sound proofing and poor sound limiting as a well. They should put up signs like Premier Inn do - asking guests to be quiet in corridors and when opening/closing doors.

The place is wicked nice an quiet an peaceful. Room was very very small though. Staff are really polite. The only downfall is u have to check out at 10:00am which was a bummer. From my knowledge I've always check out at 12:00pm in every hotel if stayed in..... And the wifi was very bad in my room in the lobby it was perfect.

Superb pics of a stately home, but then you drive round the back to a modern hotel bearing no resemblance to what you have booked. Buy a mondeo and get round the back to find a fiesta!!!!! I arrived at 8pm Sunday and it was -2c but no radiator on in room. When i turned it on it made a really loud noise and carried on doing so and i had to move rooms […] but had unpacked. No offer to help me just got moved to a room down corridor. I went to the bar which was freezing also, paid £4.30 for a pint of lager(menu said £3.85) and then went to be on a rock hard mattress as other reviews have said.......DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!!!!!! Disappointing. Miss-representation of the surroundings, the hotel shown is a character building where as the rooms were in long, dingy, cold corridors separate to the house. The rooms were cramped and the communual areas need attention.The swimming pool changing rooms smelt of cigarette smoke and the pool area is poorly kept with mold on the loungers […] and structural issues in the conservatory area making it cold, wet and unwelcoming. The swimmingpool changing areas were unkempt, shower curtains broken etc. Overall disappointing. Won't stay here again. Les mer

Great location just of the M25 and A41, perfect for North London destinations.Rooms are very compact but apart from that everything else is well above average. Super comfortable Bed, clean and well maintained room, great shower, nice Bar and food offering, what more do you need for an overnight whilst working in the North London area. An excellent venue, very relaxed and ideal for our stopover on the way home from Heathrow airport. Conveniently situated just off the M25 motorway. The quality of the rooms and service typified what we've come to expect from the De Vere's group. would recommend it to anyone.

Enjoyed our two night stay in this hotel. It was handy for us as we were visiting friends in nearby Watford. The swimming pool was great - though the changing rooms were a bit small and were for both men and women - so we got changed in our room before going to the pool

This hotel is not bad and it is clean. It is far from town centre, but near Warner Brother studio. It is good for people who have a car.

Nice setting but average room for price which was quite small with no armchair. Breakfast buffet was £10.50 each and quite good with plenty of bacon etc but limited fruit salad and only fried eggs. Cheeper than Hiltons breakfast but not as good. Free tea and coffee with biscuits hidden near bar which was nice.

We stayed here to visit the Harry Potter sets. The hotel was close, but I wouldn't have fancied walking there! Hotel was lovely. Some confusion on arrival after booking through hotels.com - 4 rooms instead of 2! Receptionist was helpful though. Kids enjoyed the pool. We stayed here for the Harry potter studio tour which is situated just around the corner! The hotel was extremely comfortable set in wonderful surroundings with wonderful staff and food. We would stay again

This hotel was very comfortable, with a lovely bed and ample pillows, a lovely en suite and a LCD TV with Freeview. For the purposes of an overnight stop en route to London it was perfect, but the room was on the small side. Room No. 1. Other hotel guests made a lot of noise after midnight. Room door rattled with the slightest breeze in the corridor. All doors slamed shut if left to their own device. Result - poor nights sleep!

Our Cricket Club Annual Dinner Dance was excellent in the Marquee, However it wasnt until we went to bed that the problems started, the people occupying the next room to us were shouting, laughing and banging about the whole night, I did complain to reception the next morning but obviously couldn't do anything about it after the event.

We stayed here one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in beautiful grounds and very peaceful. There is plenty of car parking space, We had booked twin rooms but were informed that they had all been taken so we were given two double rooms with interconnecting doors which was great as we each had our own bathrrom! A real bonus was the […] free beverages, biscuits, muffins and fruit in the bar area. We sat outside in the garden eating muffiins and drinking tea - a welcome respite after travelling through the London traffic. The rooms had everything we needed (iron, ironing board, fan, hair dryer, kettle) and the beds were sumptuous with crisp, clean bedlinen. The only discomfort was that the rooms were hot but it was a very humid day but air con would have made this a five star experience for us. I recommend this hotel as excellent value for money.
