Veldig stilig hotell, tøff arkitektonisk og pene rom. Små minus på rommet er en dusj som lekker slik at man må tørke en vannpytt etterpå, samt en lite kald minibar. Altså bare bagateller. Bra rengjøring. Grei service på hotellet, men intet mer enn hva vi ba om. Noen ganger er jo det helt ålreit. Frokosten er dyr og asketisk. Varmretter må man betale tillegg for. Men den er likevel å foretrekke fremfor de elendige restaurantene og frokostmenyene på la rambla (hold dere unna all mat på la rambla). Beliggenheten er upåklagelig. Kort oppsummert et hotell som absolutt er fire stjerner verdig. Stilige rom. Anbefales.

Jeg og min mann overnattet på Alexandra hotell i forbindelse med 4 dagers miniferie til Barcelona. Hotellet hadde ypperlig plassering i forhold til både serverdigheter, shopping og restauranter. Kan anbefale restaurant Cervecería Catalana som ligger 1 minutt fra hotellet (Mallorca 236), her har de nydelig tapas! Ellers var personalet strålende, både i resepsjonen og i baren. De kan mye om byen og snakker godt engelsk. Rommet er moderne inredet og vi fikk en liten balkong der vi kunne nyte morgen solen. Dusjen er herlig, med stor "overhead" dusjhode. Eneste minus må være at sengen var litt hard. Barcelona er en fantastisk by og et opphold på Hotel Alexandra kan absolutt anbefales som et godt utgangspunkt.

Kjempefin tur med 3 venninner. Sightseeingbuss, shopping, fortauskafeer, gode måltider og avslapning på hotellets tak og basseng. Fortauskafeene utenfor hotellet er også veldig ok med hyggelig betjening.

This isn't a 5 star hotel. The lobby area is nice and big. The restaurant is very big and the breakfast is very good. Dinner is expensive. The rooms are shabby. The carpet stincks with some big stains on it. We had one room for us and one for our 2 children. The children's room smelled badly. We told the reception and they sent the cleaning lady to […] spray som air freshener so the smell got worse. We ask for one room with king size bed and one with two separate beds. They gave us 2 rooms with small standard double beds which they called queen size beds. They charge for car parking and Wi-Fi and it's very expensive. They charge you for using the gym and swimming pool. I haven't experienced this before. I have been to so many 4-5 star hotels and none of them charged me for the swimming pool or the gym! I don't recommend this hotel. You can find much better hotels for this price. Keep away. Les mer

Hotellet ligger i rolig området i byens finans distrikt. Lite støy fra gatenivå. Nærme metro og ca 10-15 min. på metro så er du i by sentrum. Skal du til Barcelona på fotballkamp er hotellet et førstevalg. Du ser Camp Nou fra Hotellet. Perfect. Flott frokostbuffet. Jeg velger gjerne samme hotellet neste gang jeg reiser til byen.
"Barnevennlig hotell i Barcelona"
Vi bodde en natt på dette hotellet sommeren 2010 - vi hadde booket 2 club room og fikk egen innsjekk og tilgang på lounge i 18 etg. Her var det servering jevnt over hele dagen både av mat og drikke samt aviser, tv og pc til fri bruk. Hotellet ligger på Avinguda Diagonal som går gjennom hele byen, rett ved Camp Nou. Man kan ta taxi (ca 5-7 min) til Passeig […] Gracia eller buss som stopper rett utenfor. Det ligger også rett i nærheten av El Corte Inges, et kjøpesenter og flere andre butikker samt cafeer. Rommene var helt ok på størrelse med fint bad hvor toalett og bidèe var separat, men i samme rom. Produkter fra Molton Brown samt endel andre produkter fra hotellet stod tilgjengelig. Badekåper og slippers var også satt frem. Som gjest på clubrom får man tilgang på svømmebasseng, trimrom og endel andre fasiliteter- dette var et fint tilbud for barna som fikk badet. Frokosten kunne vi enten spise i club lounge eller i frokost salen - vi valgte det siste siden det var noe bedre utvalg der. Varm mat, pålegg, stort utvalg i brød og bakevarer, forskjellig type melk (hel, skummet osv), forskjellig juice, frukt og frokostblandinger. Te og kaffe ble servert umiddelbart og det ble satt frem en kanne varm melk samt kakao pulver til barna. Conciergen på hotellet anbefalte oss en flott tapas restaurant 10 min gange fra hotellet som ikke lå i turist løypen - han nevnte også at dette var et sted med plass til vogner og reserverte bord for oss. Maten var flott og beliggenheten fin. Alt i alt et kjempefint opphold og vi kommer nok til å bo her ved neste besøk. Les mer
"Bra opphold som svarte til forventningene"
Princesa Sofia ligger vel situert nær Diagonal og El Corte Ingles (kjøpesenter). Det ligger en tram-stasjonen like i nærheten som gjør det enkelt å komme seg rundt. Metro Maria Christina er også ganske nær. Hotellet er FC Barcelonas faste før kamper og Camp Nou er kun noen hundre meter unna. Kjempebra service, hyggelig personale.

Hotellet ligger fint til i forhold til bruk av t-bane, det har hyggelig betjening, god mat og en vennlig atmosfære. Den tyske biergarten på hotellet var litt for bayersk for vår del - litt malplassert- , men hadde hygglig betjening. Fine restauranter rett over gaten både spanske og tyske retter, men selv likte vi vel Starbucks aller best.

"Great Hotel - excellent staff"
I decided to stay at this hotel because of its relative location to the Camp Nou (the stadium is literally in the backyard of the hotel, a short walk will do the trick ). That particular weekend, Barcelona was playing Atheltic (Barca won 2-0). I arrived late night Friday, check-in was a blast, even when we realized my reservation was Sat-Mon instead […] of Fri-Sun. The staff decided to check me in and deal with hotels.com later. I contacted hotels.com and they eventually sorted things out. No dramas on either side ;-). Breakfast was superb. The night of the game, I left the hotel 30 min before the game started. The best was around 12 midnight when 90,000 Barca fans were heading back home, it took me 5 min to head back the hotel (However I had to wait 10 min for an elevator given the flux of people). That was my first visit to Barcelona (splendid city in my opinion). I'll stay here again on my next visit. For those planning to tour the city, there is alway a line of taxisn waiting for you outside the hotel, the subway station is 5 min away. Les mer
"Good Room - Good Breakfast"
The Reception and the Check out were smooth. The rooms are well equiped, clean and everything works. The internet appears expensive, though first 15 minutes are free. The breakfast is excellent, the other meals can be taken in good restaurants nearby (but they are not much cheaper).

I had a very nice experience staying at this hotel with my husband and our two friends. The concierge was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made great recommendations for us. I have to take a moment to RAVE about the buffet breakfast. It was definitely one of the highlights of our visit, and should not be missed. There were a large variety of items […] offered, and the hotel restaurant staff was excellent. I would rate the cleanliness and maintanence of this hotel at 3.5 out of 5. Housekeeping could do a better job of keeping the hallways clean to make the appearance of the hotel more pristine. There were little things noticed throughout our visit affecting the appearance of the hotel that maintenance could easily fix. The furniture could use a touch-up of cherry or mahogany stain. The hotel lobby chandeliere needs attention. Our stay was comfortable, and our room was clean. The front desk staff were friendly, polite and professional. Too bad I was only there for one night!!! The hotel was everything I needed and more. It was centrally located to tour bus line, metro rail, and taxi service was always available. I only stayed one night, but the staff were very helpful - I couldn't get the wifi to work, but the front desk were more than happy to print things for me. A very pleasant stay.

The room was very comfortable and spacious unlike others we stayed in during out trip. We had to wait an hour b4 our room was ready which was a little dissapointing but the staff was overall was friendly and efficient. One thing I thought was a little unreasonable was that we had to pay to access the wifi at the hotel. We would have expected this access […] to be included in our room rate at a supposed 5 star hotel. We had stayed at other hotels with lower star ratings that granted us free and unlimited access to their wifi. Les mer

Comfortable hotel but rather out-of-the-way unless the aim is to visit the University. Check in was slow. Wireless is in parts of the hotel and wasn't given a cable connection alternative. Speed is slow and it's expensive to connect except for the first 15' that are free. Staff are polite and helpful.

"Five stars out of how many?"
This hotel was perfectly fine. I was attending a conference nearby, and am not really all that picky. That said, I was consistently struck by the disparity between what one would expect from a "five star" hotel and what one gets at the Princesa Sofia. My room was not particularly spacious, or light, or well furnished. There was no free newspaper, no […] mints on the pillow, very low quality toiletries, in short none of the usual little perks of a "luxury" property. Then there was the overwhelming sense of being nickeled and dimed: There was a nice gym, for which I had to pay per use, slow wireless internet (also pay per use) with an annoying login interface. There was a perfectly fine breakfast buffet, which was included in the room, but which they tried to charge me for on the way out. The staff are generally friendly, multilingual, and, one gets the sense, accustomed to interacting with guests who are irritated with the way the hotel is run. Les mer

"Good hotel but a little dated - a good 4 Star"
The hotel is a five star hotel but I think the decor it is a little dated and while the service was good it was not up to what you would expect from a UK or Irish 5 star hotel. In saying that the rate reflected this and I would stay again. The room was big, comfortable and quite fitted our requirements.

We only stayed for one night and had booked a standard room with a double bed. On being shown to our room it actually had two single beds pushed together. The decor was very shabby and old looking and there were a few hairs from the previous occupant in the bathroom. We did have breakfast included in the price of the stay and this was very good. […] But quality was what you would expect from any hotels in England regardless of the star rating. Overall I don't think we will stay here again. "BArcelona's finest"
My family and I recently stayed at the Princesa Sofia. The hotel and its staff were first class. The concierge were really attentive and most helpful when it came to us asking all sorts of questions about accessing the sights of Barcelona. You can also save money during your stay by purchasing a bus tourist pack which reduces the cost of the sight seeing […] bus tours as well as other attractions. Unbeknown to us the concierge had also established from my husbands passport that it was his birthday during our stay and delivered a complimentary bottle of champagne, which was a really nice touch and demonstrated their commitment to caring for their customers and hiigh levels of custmer service. Everything about the hotel was faultless; comfort, cleanliness and high standards of decor and finishes. There is a secure underground car park to the hotel which you have to pay extra for. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want somewhere really nice to stay in Barcelona. Les mer
"Would return but not with the family"
The overall impression from staff to facilities was fabulous. I only have one complaint; the in room TV channels offered no children or family channels in English and there was no facility to purchase family movies which meant entertaining the family at night we had no choice but to leave the hotel. Food, staff, room cleanliness etc were great.

We were very impressed and surprised at the quality, service & location of this hotel. We opted for the club-level service which significantly exceed our expectations. The club-level included free access to a fully stocked bar and some really nice food including fresh fruit. Our family regularly ate our meals there and we were able to save a small bundle […] as a result. It is also very close to Camp Nou, which is the home field of the Barcelona soccer (football) team. Given this, it is not unusual to see star soccer players at the hotel. Indeed, in our case we were actually able to hang with Ibrahamovic at the hotel - who, by the way, is a REALLY nice person. "Good value hotel"
We booked a Club Room, and had free acces to the Club Lounge, free drinks, snack food, alcohol etc We also had free acces to pool and fitness. We used the pool area a lot, as we had our 2 year old son with us. Breakfast buffet is amazing, but use the one in Contraste restaurant, not the club lounge one. All staff speaks great english, staff seems competent […] and are very friendly. We especially enjoyed the waiters, who are older guys(+50), who are funny and efficient. Les mer

"A FANTASTIC HOTEL"
Wow, we found this hotel and the staff to be absolutely delightful. The staff on the front desk were pleasant, friendly and helpful, with useful and accurate information. We booked the comfort double, which was a tastefully decorated bedroom, very clean and the bathroom was lovely too . The bed was incredibly comfortable, in fact we slept better in […] the hotel room than we do at home:-). We were surprised at how quiet the room was in spite of it being at the front of the hotel. I had a problem with the light in the bedroom and there was an engineer up within 10 minutes to sort it out, much to my embarassment the light switch worked when he tried:-/. Our deal included breakfast, which was a big plus as most hotels in spain don't really do deals including breakfast. We didn't drink at the bar or eat dinner in the restaurant, so can't comment on them. Barcelona is definitely not short of good places to eat, there are a few restaurants around the corner from the hotel but we didn't think the food or service at these restaurants was good, in fact we found the service at a restaurant called mango incredibly rude, the food there didn't make up for the rude service either and was quite expensive considering. This hotel is a 3 min walk from the metro station, maria cristina, so travelling to and from the sights and attractions was easy. Les mer

Pricessa Sofia is in a great location, within walking distances to shoppping centers, bus and metro lines. The room is comfortable, specious, particularly the bathroom. Carpet has spots and looks worn, so needs replacement. Breakfast buffet is plentiful
