Hyggelig sted med rene rom og koselig hage. Frokosten hadde ikke det største utvalget, men det viktigste. Stedet ligger like ved Highway 1 så det er enkelt og komme til og fra. Stedet ligger et lite stykke unna Carmel sentrum, og man bør vurdere å kjøre da veien fra sentrum ikke er opplyst og det blir veldig mørkt om kvelden. Hvis en skal bo flere dager/ feriere i Carmel, ville jeg ha bodd nærmere sentrum. Hvis man bare stopper innom Carmel på vei nedover kysten er imidlertid stedet et bra og rimelig alternativ!

Et flott, moderne hotell med alt på stell. Fantastisk resturant både frokosten og middagen var i en klasse for seg. Fine rom og god atmosfære.

"Nice. big rooms"
Carmel is a weird place. Lots of money everywhere, but this hotel was reasonably priced. Very large and well decorated room, good parking and close to restaurants etc. Excellent service at front desk. Good Wifi. Breakfast was standard for US hotels - quite underwhelming.
it was awful. i booked a room with a fireplace/hottub. upo confirming, i was told that i would have wich i requested as well as pool n breakfast. i had nothing except the fireplace. ths was suppose to b a romantiic getaway. botgg birthdays 4-21.n to top it off..,no hottubs,spa rmassage facility could even be located by our hotel conciierge...noti happy […] at all. Terrible service and complete lack of flexibility of the operators.They are in this business to make money at the expense of their clients, not to provide a service.

"The Carmel by the sea hotel"
Hotel was convenient, but very thin walls. We Could hear everything in the room next to us and above us. We had broken glass in the bathroom that was left from the last person that we stepped on and that wasn't good. When we told the owners, they just yelled at the maid. perhaps the chilly and rainy weather had something to do with our mediocre stay, but we just found that this hotel wasn't anything special. carmel is a small town that is mostly art galleries and boutiques and expensive restaurants. we didnt get to stroll around much because it was so cold. the view is nice tho - but that's once you get to the water's […] edge a couple blocks down. nothing special or spectacular about the hotel. the room was rather dated, especially the bathroom. we probably won't stay in carmel again, it's better as just a stop for a few hours while driving through. Picked this hotel for a last minute overnight trip with the family. The hotel has a small and cozy feel to it and is well priced for such great location. Easy parking, close to the beach and next to lots of restaurants and bars.

Very nice couple manage the Inn, very helpful and accomadating. First night there we found that the room we had on the first floor was subject to lots of noise from the guests in the room above,such as foot trafic, and we could even hear thier conversations almost like they were in the room with us. The second night I ask the manager if he could move […] us or if possible for him to not rent out the room above us, as it turned out he was able to not rent out the upper room and we had a nice restfull night. "Carmel Inn"
The location of this hotel is perfect...near the ocean, near fabulous restaurants. However, checking in was a nightmare, we were very tired, and it took about a half hour to get us a room key. The comfort of the room--most especially the bed and pillows was fantastic. Perfect location near everything you want!
actually very pleasantly surprised! excellent location, everything in walking distance, quiet. we really enjoyed our stay. Just make sure the "incedentals fee" isn't charged. All in all, beautiful!
"Good location but no "wow" factor"
We booked two rooms for two nights. The location is only a block and half away from Ocean Avenue and there is a useful grocery store nearby. Since the building is a motel structure, thin walls are inevitable, but the rooms are clean and decorated nicely. One of our rooms was missing the bath drain plug and the gas heater was not working. Both issues […] were addressed the next evening. The other room had a broken refrigerator but we did not bother reporting. Breakfast is minimal, nothing fancy but you can always find something better nearby if desired. This would be a good choice if you do not expect much from the hotel amenity. Les mer
"Peaceful vacation"
The Carmel Inn and Suites was well appointed, located just two blocks from the center of town, and the man working there was very watm, friendly, and inviting. I will choose to stay here again next time I return to Carmel.

Good location in Carmel. Hotel amenities are quite dated, but well-maintained. Parking's a bit tight for a large vehicle. Breakfast is so-so self-service continental.
The rom we stayed in at the Carmel Inn and Suites was extremely small, the bed was shoved between 2 walls, the could hear the people talking in the room next tto us The shower was extremely small, anyone of more than average, or small size would have a very tight squeeze

"Perfect stay"
The owners made us feel very welcome and made sure we were taken care of. Pkg. was a bit of a problem on a couple of nights of our stay, but there's ample pkg. on street. Only negative was the continental breakfast items and the area. They should amp up the quality offering cut fresh fruit and their array of bread and pastries. It was great staying in Carmel and not dealing with traffic and parking. The room was nice but very thin walls. Breakfast was very mediocre but Carmel has so many places for a better breakfast anyway.

So the location is great- right at the beginning of Carmel's shopping street. Room was a long narrow enclosed porch. The bed was lumpy and very uncomfortable. No mattress pad and a bottom sheet too small to stay tucked in. Ended up sleeping on bare mattress every night. Toilet paper dispenser falling off wall. It was clean and the managers were friendly.
One window that was about 15 inches from the side of another building. No ventilation. The hotels in Carmel do not have air conditioning which would be find if you are not up against a solid wall. Asked and did receive a fan, but had to leave door open to receive any of the cool air. .

We were very pleasantly surprised by the motel. Not sure why the rating has been low. And didn't even know there would be a swimming pool.
Location was great...everything within walking distance. Room was average but clean and worth the price. Bed was rather hard but other than that no complaints.

The manager was very nice and showed me how to work the TV and exchanged the remote that wasn't working. The hotel is on a busy street which can be pretty noisy in the early morning (trucks chugging up the hill or backing up and beeping). It would be nice to have a comfortable chair in the room where you can relax and watch TV. There were two chairs […] but nothing like a recliner where you can put your feet up and really relax. Some of the wallpaper in the bathroom in the room I was in is coming loose and should be replaced. The toilet seat would not stay up. we stayed here because of the glowing reviews on the hotels.com website. all the revers were true! i probably cant add anything more, except to make sure you allow for extra time to explore Carmel, and especially to enjoy a nice walk along the beach.

The hotel manager was AWESOME. I enjoyed my short stay there and would visit again. The walls are quite thin and you can hear your neighbor clearly. Overall, I would visit again.

We were very pleased with the location of the hotel. It was walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a charming "cottage decor". There was attention to detail. The room had a bowl of candy and the coffee pot in the room had both coffee and tea.

I stayed 2 nights at the Carmel Inn and Suites for a wedding in nearby Carmel Valley. It was the perfect location. It was close to Route 1, and right onthe edge of downtown Carmel. It was a 15 minute walk to the beach at the end of Ocean Blvd. The hotel was great for the price I paid. I got a suite with 2 rooms, an extra sink and a refridgerator. It […] was clean, and the staff was very accomodating. The decor is a little dated, but not a turnoff. My one complaint was that I could hear people talking in the next room, but otherwise, it was great for the location and price. I would stay here again. Les mer

Centrally located for Marathon bus pick up at Carmel Plaza. Hotel clean, largewell lighted rooms but some damage to wall paper in bathroom. We would definitely stay there again. Convenient to restaurants and shopping.
