Dette er stedet som skal unngås av to klare årsaker: Det er veldig lytt og det er en teknisk dårlig konstruksjon som gjør at bevegelser i korridoren og i de andre rommene høres veldig lett. Legg så til en regnværsdag der unger leker i korridorene så skjønner man at dette blir slitsomt. Destin er "Redneck Riviera" så man føler seg hensatt til "Rickie […] Lake" til frokost, i beste fall er dette underholdning, men egentlig slitsomt. Internet-aksessen var et kapittel for seg, det eneste stedet på denne sommerens 3-ukers runde som ga oss kontinuerlige problemer og da umuliggjorde bestilling av billetter/hoteller/arrangement videre på turen. Stayed 1 night while I waited for my condo to be ready. Very clean. I even had a postcard sent to my house thanking me for staying!

This Wingate seemed pretty new and very clean. It's a boring type of hotel -- no exotic Floridian beach charm or fancy fixtures and art, but is certainly suitable for travelers on a budget. My husband and I stayed here for a 4 night vacation, and had a wonderful time. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The hotel staff was very helpful and even allowed us an early check-in on our first night. The breakfast was okay...but we are both a little picky, so we can't complain too much about that. The room (king suite) was oddly configured. TV was a LONG way from the bed and was too small to see. Breakfast was what you would expect, if you have low expectations. But it was clean and comfortable and convenient to most things you need in Destin.

We stayed 3 nights over the weekend and had a great time. The hotel was very clean and the king size beds are very comfortable. For the price per night it was a great deal.

I loved this place. From the friendly staff at the front desk, to the clealiness of our room, and the breakfast and staff that kept it stocked constantly. All around a great experience.

My family will definitely stay at Wingate anytime there is a family getaway. Everything from staff, to room, to continental breakfast, was awesome. This is the place you would want to stay.

The receptionist at the front desk was very rude upon arrival. Between her and the lady working the continental breakfast who was also rude to another hotel guest because he didn't realize one of the waffle makers was out of service. She spoke to him like he was a child. Besides the rude staff this is a clean hotel at a low rate.

The staff was extremely courteous and the room was immaculate. The motel was very well maintained.

Very nice and clean hotel. The young lady at the check in desk was not very friendly, and I got the feeling that they didn't like the fact that I booked through Hotels.com. It also seemed to be more expensive through Hotels.com, because when she printed my receipt, the price showed $139.99 but she quickly took the paper back from me and scratched that […] number out. My actual cost was $199.99. I'm not sure exactly what happened there, but it was odd. Les mer

We arrived an hour before the check-in time and were rudely turned away by the front desk attendant. She curtly told us that we were early, they didn't have anything yet, and we'd have to come back in an hour. No further explanation. I've never been turned away so close to check-in time before, and being told so rudely was very upsetting. Once we were […] finally checked in, the room was quite comfortable. I have no complaints about the quality of our accommodations. The interior of the general areas of the hotel were also clean and nice and the complimentary WiFi worked well. As other users have said, getting to and from the hotel from the highway isn't easy. The location isn't the best. Also, this hotel must be built near a sewage treatment facility. There was a foul smell outside the hotel and was easily noticeable in the parking lot and pool areas at any time of day or night. We had been looking forward to enjoying the whirlpool tub but the awful smell ruined the experience. I would not stay here again. Les mer

Room was great especially for the price. Would stay again. Only small compliant would be that some of the staff were not very nice. The lady at the desk upon check out seemed very bothered when I checked out.

There was only one drawback during my stay- someone pulled the fire alarm at 1:45 am. I came to work a music festival and really needed my sleep. The rooms are amply spaced, clean, instead of sliding doors to a closet they are French styled doors. It just looks classier than competitors. The mattresses are upgraded from most hotels. If you have kids […] it wont feel as cramped. When I mentioned being woken from a dead sleep, I was told "whether an alarm is pulled or there is an actual events, they are safety devices for our protection." So they need a better way of addressing that issue. Small gestures are better than a statement. Other than that, it would have been a GREAT experience across the board. Les mer

The hotel was very nice and clean and convenient to restaurants/shopping in the area. We also walked around the area and felt quite safe. I would stay here again.

Fantastic place to stay. Incredible staff and very clean rooms. Very nice breakfast and overall stay. The room are a bit noisy since the walls are thin and there is a gap under the doors. No view over the beach or anything but a great get away for me and my wife just to be away and enjoy some extra $$$ for some Christmas shopping etc.

Guest clerk was very unprofessional. He made insults about the state that we were from! Other than that it was a nice place. Too far from beach if you are staying in the summer though.

Easy to find . Great hotel . Sometimes hard to turn off highway to enter and not close to the water. The staff was outstanding !
