Hotel Ajanta - New Delhi

After checking many reviews on net I selected this hotel and I am not at all disappointed with my decision. Before reaching Delhi I confirmed with the hotel about Airport pick up though I was little skeptical about it. When I came out of Airport, I did not find them and all my effort to contact the hotel was also in vain. As a last resort, I called […] Hotels.com customer support and they helped me identify the cab driver by contacting hotel. Finally we took the cab to reach hotel and the driver (Mr.Vijay) was very helpful and gave information about various attractions around Delhi. They even allowed me to stay till 2pm as my bus was at 4pm that evening. Les mer

My friend and I stayed here for 5 nights I believe and the location of this hotel isn't good at all, I didn't feel very safe going outside the hotel alone, then again I don't think there is a good spot in Delhi besides the expensive Taj Mahal Hotel thats located outside the city center. It was a nice hotel, it has an old elevator that is quite small […] but has a nice old charm to it. The hotel has a good rooftop restaurant that we ate at a few nights. The people who work here try to sell you tours etc that you don't want and the internet isn't free but cheap. The electricity went out in our room twice though once was the whole hotel. Also if you are staying with just friends the bathrooms are kinda see though that have a film on them so you only see a shadow of the person in the bathroom, I didn;t like it too since I was just with a friend of mine. I would only stay here if you were on a serious budget otherwise I would spend a little more money for a nicer hotel. Les mer

This was my fourth visit to the hotel, and I had reached Delhi early in the morning. The Shift Manager initially said I would be charged extra for an early check-in but when I mentioned I was a loyal guest, he relented, and made available the room at no extra charge. Thank you I've had no complaint with these guys, and am quite happy with the Hotel […] and its cozy restaurant. All the rickshaw and auto guys in Delhi also seem to know about this place; you don't have to guide them much. Les mer

Single room was quite small, but cleanliness and running hot water during winter made it ok. Included Continental-Indian breakfast was pretty nice, as was the attached restaurant. Food was good and not terribly expensive. Location is at a very crowded place in Delhi, near the main railway station. So it stays noisy from morning to night. This place […] is ok for a day or two. Please take earplugs very noisy. Take inhaler if asthmatic. Noisy surrounds, dogs barking, horns beeping. Ask for a room back of hotel. Breakfast good. Look at the competition for trips down the road. Good Hotel for it's price. Centrally located close to railway not far from airport. Staff friendly and helpful. Wi Fi slow and drops out.

The free trip from the airport was not free. I was charged a rs.140 parking fee?!! about half the price a taxi would have charged. When I asked that instead of taking me all the way back to the airport would he have the driver take me 5 km. He tried to charge me rs. 400. The meals were way overpriced. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures.

Rooms are very comfortable. The ones at the front can be noisy from traffic. The restaurant is reliable and basic. The staff were really friendly and helpful to me.

We stayed with my wife in this hotel just for few days before head up to Jaipur. You have a good location and a good room for the price compare to other hotels. Nevertheless the service at the restaurant is not the best and they are finishing rooms (that means you can have noise during the day if you are the room next door). I had booked a king size double room online. My husband arrived a day before me. As it was around 2 am he did not comment on the room he had been allocated - a tiny windowless room with two single beds, on a floor on which work was being carried out so it was dusty and very noisy . Fortunately we had a print out of the booking slip which I showed to […] the member of staff at reception on my arrival. They changed our room to a what I had pre-paid for. What is frustrating is the fact you need to complain as soon as you arrive and have to check your paper work to see whether you are getting what you have paid for. I pointed out that had the complaint not been made they would have simply left us in this horrible room but accepted the payment for a much larger one. The manager did compensate me by giving complimentary breakfast. I would also urge fellow travellers to shop around before accepting a tour put on by the hotel. This way you will have a more realistic idea of costs. On the plus side the places we had been booked onto were generally decent and well maintained and the driver was good. However it was expensive and we felt we had been press ganged into buying their tour before we had a chance to shop around. Les mer

Stayıng there was a good peace of mınd. They pıcked us up at the aırport (and our plane was late) and brought us straıght to the hotel. When ı orıgıanlly confırmed my bookıng and pıck up they emaıled me back twıce. The second tıme however they saıd that at the aırport we would have to pay of the parkıng. So dont fall for thıs! you dont have to pay for […] anythıng. Our fırst mornıng there we got brought ınto Mrs Ravı s offıce. She ıs ın charge of the tours. She was a huge help for us and we booked a car wıth drıver to take us around the Golden Trıangle and all the hotels were ıncluded ın the prıce that we paıd. The fırst(ın Jaıpur) and the thırd hotel(ın Agra) were amazıng and all the tour guıdes were ıncluded as well. She even arranged for the hotel drıvers to take us around Delhı for the day. So I would defınıtely recomend thıs place to anyone. Les mer

The hotel staff arrange us in roof floor and the roof floor have the decoration work at the menmont, I've reguested the hotel to change the other floor, but they say no more room availible.

Desk staff were often not friendly and had to be asked multiple times for assistance. Rooms were fair. Disappointing.

First they did not have the rooms that we booked,and only offer us a compliment breakfast,the next day still they said they did not have the rooms and offered another compliment breakfast,after my sister refused the breakfast and insist to have our money back..then they have the room we booked! What a lame scams!

For the price this hotel is a great value. After months of traveling it was nice to have a clean room with wifi and a big TV with English language channels. During the day there was a bunch of construction noise, but I suspect this is temporary. Staff is helpful, but a little pushy. Food at the attached restaurant is good and reasonably priced.

I (a female) travelled alone to Delhi to conduct some research and was nervous about safety. The area is a bit dodgy around the New Delhi Railroad station but most of the budget hotels are in this area so didn't have much of a choice. Thankfully Hotel Ajanta is not on the main bazaar which is much sketchier. The street where it is located has lots of […] foot traffic so felt like I could walk alone safely, except for late at night in which case I would take a rickshaw or taxi. I originally only booked the hotel for the first week and then was going to reevaluate if to stay there the second week. Because the service was pretty good, restaurant inside was well priced and good quality, the AC, central location and internet, I decided to stay the second week. All the hotel workers were very friendly. There is a tourist desk here so they will inevitably try to sell you some package but as long as you are firm, they won't hassle you. They may claim that you owe them a sales tax for each night of the hotel but if you book through hotels.com the taxes should be included. Just make sure you have a printed receipt with you. Enjoy! We stayed at the Ajanta twice in December 2009, and found everything to be at least what we expected, or better than what we expected. The staff was courteous and helpful, the rooms, while basic, were clean, and the restaurant was good. The airport pick-up was a total blessing, as our arrival flight was late and we didn't get in until 1:30 am. Vi var 4 tjejer som åkte hit och bodde på hotell Ajanta 3 nätter. Vi bytte rum och byggnad efter första natten (hotellet består numera av tre byggnader för att Ajanta köpt upp en byggnad som ligger bakom huvudbyggnaden och ett som ligger tvärs över gatan) på grund av irriterande småflugor. Desstom möttes vi av ett rökmoln första dagen när vi kom ut […] i korridoren då de sprayade för "mosquitos". Helt och rent där de tycks ha renoverat merparten av sina rum på hotellet. Väl värt de pengarna vi lade ut. Nära till Main Bazaar för lite prutvänlig krimskrams shopping och lite helt ok, omnämnda hak för käk (finns med i lonely planet). Vi bokade även en dagstur till Agra för att se Taj Mahal, då ingick taxi med chaufför samt en guide på plats i Agra som visade oss runt vid taj. Att boka taxi med chaufför är lite som ett lotteri dock. I bilen fanns bara fyra säkerhetsbälten och ACn gick lite på och av som den ville, oklart om hotellet ansvarar för detta eller om det är taxibolaget de anlitat som strular. När det kommer till service så får hotellet också klart godkänt. Vi upplevde att restaurangpersonalen var lite nonchalant men att receptionen var vänliga och tillmötesgående (ett fåtal kunde behövas värmas upp med lite småprat). To był mój pierwszy pobyt w Ajanta Hotel i Delhi, Bardzo uprzejma i wykraczająca poza oczekiwania obsługa. Mimo, że doba hotelowa zaczynała się o 12, dostaliśmy pokój zaraz po przyjeździe do hotelu (ok. godz. 8). Na drugi dzień po wymeldowaniu przechowali mój bagaż przez cały dzień (bez dodatkowych opłat). Przy odbiorze bagażu wieczorem zaoferowali […] odświeżającą kąpiel w pokoju hotelowym (to też zupełnie za darmo). Ponieważ miałam bardzo mało czasu, restauracja hotelowa na szybko przygotowała posiłek na wynos. Zamówiony transport z lotniska zadziałał bardzo dobrze. Les mer

Hotel czysty, obsluga mila. Mozna znalezc tanszy w okolicy o podobnym standardzie. Jednak polecam. Uwaga na oferte biura podrozy - mozna sporo znegocjowac z ceny!!! :):):)

Vi fick gratis pickup från flygplatsen, de bokade oss en resa till Agra som vi var mycket nöjda med. Allt gick väldigt smidigt och vi hade en bra guide. Rummen var rena med vatten i kylskåpet. Mycket ljud på natten hundar, barn, böne skräll osv. Vi fick mycket hjälp när vi var oroliga om hur man skulle använda våra railpass. Dom ringde genast tågstationen […] och var mycket noga med att förklara hur allt skulle gå till. Bra att kunna kolla sin email gratis.Vi beställde god mat till rummet från restaurangen. Första gången i Indien och det var skönt att känna sig omhändertagen. Les mer

Ett OK hotell. Trevlig, hjälpsam och vänlig personal. Säkerheten är OK. Maten är OK, inga problem med magen. Personalen i restaurangen verkar dock mer intresserad av att titta på den enorma TV-n som alltid är på än att serva gästerna. Om möjligt välj rum bort från gatan för att undvika allt gatuliv och larm. Ligger inom gångavstånd till centrala järnvägsstationen. […] Har kostnadsfri hämtning på flygplatsen som fungerar väl. Fibt hotel til pengene. Det kan godt betale sig at klage over ting. Hotellets priser på ture, rejser osv er høje. Kontakt et rejsebureau.

There was bad smell in the room, no window, lot of humidity we booked double bed but got single beds. WiFi connection was good and cheap 100 rupees/24 hours,but everytime I wanted new WiFi-card I had to take computer downstairs and it took about 15 minutes get the connection. Printing cost 15 rupees for me but 10 rupees to Japanese hotel guest. Breakfast […] was over priced 250 rupees. Hotel staff was very friendly! Bra budget hotell, jag bodde på 4.e våning där de bästa rummen fanns hörde jag, hur som helst, det var rent. Hissen funkade till och från men fick bra ben träning med att gå upp och ner trapporna. Hotellet ligger på gångavstånd från Main Bazar och 20 min från Connaught Place. Gatan som hotellet finns ser lite ruffigt ut men är bra safe, jag reste som […] ensam kvinna och det var inga problem att promenera själv varken på dagen eller kvällen. Hotellet har gratis internet på både business centern och uppe i takterrasen som var enkelt men härligt mötesplats. Restaurangen var enkelt med bra mat, bra service och frukosten var enkelt men den var helt ok. Framför allt att tänka på är att åker du till Indien så får du vara flexibel annars stanna hemma. Jag hade beställt hämtning vid flygplatsen och det funkade super bra! Rummen lite lyhörd inte så att man hör grannen utom mer när folk gick utanför rummet eller ljud från gatan. Jag kommer definitivt tillbaks till detta hotellet. De hjälpte mig även med transport till flygplatsen men då fick jag betala en liten summa som var i princip ingenting. Vi bodde 8 nätter på detta hotell. Med tanke på standard och skick på de flesta budgethotell i Delhi är nog detta ett av de bästa budgethotellen. Trevlig personal och bra och trevliga rum. Fläkt på rummet var bra under den kalla perioden i januari. Varmvatten under vissa delar av dygnet. Internet fungerade perfekt. Som sagt efter indiska mått ett mycket […] bra val, efter europeiska mått finns en del övrigt att önska. Vi rekommenderar dock detta, då vi inte såg något som ens var i närheten om man inte skulle ta klivet upp på en helt annan prisnivå. Les mer

El hotel Ajanta está bien situado y por fuera parece un buen hotel pero la habitación en la que nos alojamos era vieja, estaba sucia, no funcionaba la tele, tenía humedad... No lo recomendaría a nadie.

Fuer diese Geld viel zu teuer, da in einem schlechten und lauten Gebiet. Schmutzige Zimmer. Late und daher unbenutzbare Klimaanlage.
