Staff very friendly, but I expect a hot shower, not a cold one, when forking out this kind of money. Cleanliness of room questionable (slight smell in room). Breakfast was ok, but nothing to crow about. Waffles and bacon were ok, but eggs were probably powdered and tasted it. Rest of food (bagels, English muffins, cereal) were ok. My stay at the hotel was very good & the staff was the best all my needs were met & it was a very nice weekend, I would stay their again

perfect for our 1 night stay visiting our daughter at UMaine.

This is a very convenient hotel for visiting UMaine. Orono is a cute town that is in walking distance. Very nice. The hotel is clean and in a nice area. The older building has been updated, but does show its age with some very minor inconveniences - temperamental water temperature in the shower and a broken stopper in the sink. We checked in ahead of student visiting day for the University of Maine. This hotel was a hop-skip-jump away! The beds were comfortable- the room clean and the hot breakfast in the morning was a great plus! The floor above us creaked a bit-as we heard the people upstairs walking around- so I'd choose to stay on the upper level next time. Otherwise, […] we had no complaints. Les mer

For the purpose of what we needed for the weekend the hotel sufficed. With my awesome rate that I got thru hotels.com it was worth it for sure. I am not so sure that the normal rates are worth it. The girl tried to tell me that my reservation was only for one and that I would have to pay more when I clearly booked for two, BUT I think that was because […] my rate on here was so great. They also want to charge you for EVERYTHING!!! (fridge, microwave, COFFEE POT, every single extra person) We didn't eat the breakfast so I can not comment on that. My biggest complaint is that when you shower in the morning the water pressure will go from comfortable, scalding hot, and then freezing within 30 seconds....not nice! Overall it was in a great location for us with fairly comfortable bedding. Maybe readjust the rates and not be so stingy about EVERYTHING. Oh yeah, it was winter time, but they could've made a better effort to clean all the ice/snow off the parking lot. The sun never hits a majority of it so it stays ice and snow covered. I would go back when my room with a view of the river/pool was more than just a snow covered frozen view, but it was still beautiful. It was clean, safe, quiet, and a very ideal location for our trip because we could walk to a lot of places we wanted to go. Les mer

The hotel was very nice and clean the only problem was there was no coffee machine in the room and the water was only lukewarm in the coffee pots in the lobby even after asking the clerk to please get hot water. Also this was supposed to be a suite as it had a king size bed.

Stayed here many times as my son goes to the University. Staff is always outstanding. Have arrived early a few times and it has never been an issue. Rooms are clean, basic, and newly renovated.

was close to university of maine. not the best but not the worst either. breakfast was good. Lots of creaking when people upstaisr were walking around and room smelled like urine(front desk gave me some citrus spray that seemed to help).

There is only this hotel and Black Bear in Orono. Good location and friendly staff. Bed linens and bathroom clean - but stains in ceiling and carpet was smelly and old. Next time I visit will probably stay in Bangor.

I brought along my 15 month golden retriever and the hotel was very accommodating. We had a room with a slider right to our car, so the dog didnt have to walk inside the hotel at all. They have beautiful grounds leading up to the Stillwater River that we could walk around. Very convenient to UMaine. The pool was nice, heated and open in the evening, […] and breakfast was good too. I've been staying over in various hotels within the Bangor area for years and i must say, this inn is very convenient, clean and the staff and owners are very courteous and nice. Highly recommend this inn, as a matter of fact, I enjoyed my stay so much that I'm trying to cancel a previous reservation I have in Bangor so I can go back here!

We have been traveling for the past two weeks and were pleased at the price and convenience of this hotel. The rooms were fine, the beds comfortable. Have had better breakfasts but then for the cost of a hotel in Maine in August, I can't complain.

The hotel was very clean and quiet despite being on a busy roadway. There were plenty of towels and everything worked. The complimentary breakfast was very well done. During my stay I needed to have my car serviced. The repair took longer the hotel checkout time. The management allowed me to stay until the completion of the repair. The hotel itself was as expected, however, the pool/grounds made it very enjoyable and quiet/comfortable..will definately stay there again!

This is a great choice for anyone in the UMaine Community. The hotel was recently renovated and the rooms are of equal quality to most national chains I stay at regularly. The location in Downtown Orono and free breakfast cannot be beat by any other hotel in the area.

This hotel is very close to both the University of Maine campus and downtown Orono. Actually I would say it is right at the midway point between both of those. It had a good breakfast selection and good service. Nice rooms, nothing too fancy, but it was nice. I spent two nights there and do not really have any complaints.

University Hotel is a really a motel. The rooms are comfortable, basic and a bit overpriced, but it is the start of school and parents abound. Breakfast was an added bonus and they have a pool and small workout room. Staff was helpful and friendly. It is a great location to the Un of Maine.

Das Hotel ist im sehr guten Zustand und macht deutlich mehr her, als man bei 2 Sternen erwarten würde. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet. Der Außenpool ist sehr gut und auch die Zimmer sind prima. Nur ein Safe wäre noch toll. Zum Besuch des Arcadia Nationalparks ist etwas abgelegen - aber sonst ein richtig guter Tipp.

Brecfast is downstairs in a place with no windows or fresh air. The recepcionist told my husband I was not hosted at the hotel in a log distance call.
