Hotel Fiume B&H - Roma

We spend an oval weekend as tourists at the hotel, and were very pleased with the hotel standard. The hotel had a very friendly reception staff, who went out of their way to help us. We found several quite good restaurants in the neighbourhood, and shopping was also avilable. The only drawback is the distance from the historical monuments, however, for 5 - 6 € we got a taxi straight down to Piazza di Spagna. A bus service was also available a few hundred meters from the hotel.

Booked this place beacause of the great price I found on Hotels.com. Perfectly content with the hotel as a stopover before travelling onwards. Breakfast was fine but don't be too disappointed if you miss it. Tight bathroom, but the room on the 6th floor with the little juliette balcony was nice!

The hotel was very good and clean. The front desk staff can use some updating, be more friendly and no so basic. if you are in a tourist industry , you better like tourist you are not doing any favor to any body this is your job, better learn to like it or get out of the industry. The room was clean comfortable , the bathroom was a good size, the shower a bit small and not very good drainage. We stay in room 230 on the street side , quite noise if you have to open the windows during September or October , because neither air or heater is run from the hotel at this time of the year. No screens on the windows so make sure you keep light curtains close , mosquitoes will eat you alive at night. Breakfast was good , can use better coffee , not out of a machine with Nescafe. The fresh squeeze orange juice was excellent. Good Luck , but do your research.

This hotel has recently been renovated so it's clean and has that new feeling. The location is in far northeast Rome (so it appears on the map they give you at the concierge). We paid for a wireless card but the wireless didn't work and I had to argue with them about the charge. We also woke up sweating because it was so hot in our room. As we were only there to sleep we didn't complain so this is kind of our fault. Overall no major complaints!

This hotel is clean, modern and in a quiet neighborhood. The continental breakfast is outstanding. I love the fresh squeeze orange juice that they provide. Although they serve the same food everyday ( we stayed there for 1 week) there's a wide range of variety that you can choose. The bathroom is modern, but the way it is set up, the floor gets wet everytime you shower. I think that is not unusual in European shower stalls as same happens on 3 other hotels we stayed at in Spain and Italy.Overall, it was a great experience.

The hotel is recently renovated and looks great. The rooms a very nicely decorated, wooden floors and a stylish badroom. The location is a little inconvenient, it's a 15 minute walk the the spanish steps.

A solid walk (or a short bus ride) from all the major sights, but this was definitely NOT a bad thing. During the days that we were there we would get up in the morning, make a stop at the generous breakfat buffet, and then catch a bus to the attraction we wanted to see that was the farthest away from the hotel and work our way across the city on foot throughout the rest of the day. We loved that the hotel wasn't right in the middle of everything because it gave us an opportunity to "get lost" and wander around as we made our way from place to place. As far as the hotel itself is concerned, this was the nicest of the hotels we stayed in during our trip. The room was on the small side, but very clean with comfortable furniture and very large bathroom. The breakfast buffet was kept well stocked with various kinds of breads (rolls, loaves, etc), cold cuts and cheeses, eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and of course pastries! The two men who were working were constantly on the move making sure the buffet was restocked and serving hot drinks to all the patrons. The front desk staff was also extremely helpful providing us with maps, directions, and suggestions of places to eat and things to see. Both my husband and I were very pleased with our stay.

Beautiful quaint hotel. Wonderful breakfast. All of the rooms have been recently updated. Front desk staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a good deal, and don't mind being out of the center then this is a great place for you. To get here from the main sites typically took us a half hour, taking the subway to termini, and then one stop up to castro. from the subway, it was about a ten minute walk. the walk isn't the prettiest, definitely lots of traffic, litter, and some bums, but we are city kids and we're used to that. I never felt unsafe. the staff was more than helpful, and the room was super clean (a little small), but overall perfect. The bathroom was nice, and the ac helped a lot. The staff was also super helfpul to us.

Ignore the photos on the websites. The hotel is nearly finished with its renovation and WOW! It is very ultra chic and modern...comfortable beds and duvets; flat screen television; gorgeous hardwood floors; robes and slippers. The front desk staff could be a little friendlier, but I will chalk that up to the limited English. The breakfast was good. The roof deck has not yet been remodeled. The neighborhood is nice with many local restaurants to chose from. You are about a 20 minute walk to Trevi and within 15 minutes of Villa Borghese. Yes. We would recommend the hotel if you do not mind being outside the city walls, but you are within 10 minutes of either subway line.

4/2/09 after being in 3 different hotels on our Italy trip we were expecting the worst since the price was very affordable. much to our surprise this the best hotel of our trip. dont be deceived by the outside, of course, rome is an old city with old buildings. But as soon as u get to the hotel it has a feel of walking in an IKEA showroom. IT is very modern and contemporary..Breakfast is also great. although you have to take a bus to get to all the major tourist spot. It is very convenient. one block away from the bus stop. and 3 bus stop from the Rome Termini station(about 5 minute ride). Theres also a grocery store close by which we use to buy water and drinks. the hotel is under renovation but didnt realy bother us.. I say,, its a good choice.

This hotel is not as close to the city center as we were told. But if you don't mind taking a bus, which there are plenty of close to the hotel, this is a good location. HOtel staff was very courteous and willing to help.

I have been in this Hotel twice in one year. I love the service and the breakfast buffet(the bread is baked across the street in this great little bakery). The staff is amazing and they always greet you with a smile and a nice little "BonJorno" or Bonacera". The only bad thing is the actual building. First, to get to your room u need to get in the elevator, which is kinda small. But to get to the elevator u need to carry your own luggae up one flight of stairs (remeber 3star hotel = no bellhop). second its kinda far to walk to the center of town, but if u learn to take mass transportation its a great place (The Buses 80 express and 490 local take u to the center of town) The buses are only one block away from the hotel. Overall its a great quiet place with great little restaurants around it.

I wasnt sure about this hotel when we booked as it was only 2 star. We upgraded to a superior room and it was def worth it!! The hotel is being renovated and we were in a brand new room on the top floor with a flat screen tv, fridge, safe, everything was new & clean & lovely. We even had our own private bit of the roof terrace to sit out on. The breakfast had everything bacon, eggs, bread, cereal, fruit, pastries. Best breakfast Ive had in Europe. The hotel is a 10 min walk from the metro which takes you anywhere in the city. There are lots of great restaurants in the area and 2 good bars to drink lots of fancy cocktails in, Friends & New Age Cafe. The staff were very helpful providing you with a good map of the city and recommending places to go. The only down side- there is still building work going on so from 8.30am-6.30pm there was the banging of hammers and drills. It did stop on the Sat & Sun thank God! But who wants to lie in bed all day when they're in Rome anyway!! I would def go back to this hotel.... but the upgrade to the superior room is def worth it!!

Service overall at Hotel Fiume B&H was very good. Got a lot of help from the front desk (where to eat, what buses to take ect). Beds were comfortable, bathroom clean, breakfast great. Different buses can be caught a short distance away and not a long wait.

Lovely hotel, at first a little dubious however the rooms were comfy and clean. Brilliant location outside of the main centre, however just a 5 minute walk from the nearest metro which was just north of the termini. Once on the metro, Roma is at your disposal. Breakfast was better than expected, we spent very little time in the hotel as lots to see and do, ideal for those wanting a base to explore. My only small gripe to be aware of is the electric sanitiser on the toilet which makes noises throughout the night, but the many pros outweigh the con.

Can't really fault it. Rooms were nice, staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. In a quiet street, although some rooms front onto a busy-ish road. It is however slightly off the beaten track (20 minute walk to the main transport interchange at Termini, although the metro is 10 minutes walk or there's a bus nearby that goes to Termini), which mayexplain why it's a bit cheaper than some.

An excellent base clean comfortable and well informed with free maps. Helpful and friendly English speaking staff. Good breakfast.

I stayed with my wife and my parents for christmas vacation. The rooms were old, but comfortable. The buffet Breakfast was really good. The service desk was very helpful and the house keepers were friendly and helpful. No major attractions were near the hotel but the buses were very useful. All major buses that took you to eather the Termini or to the shopping area were near bye. you need to leave a deposit for the safet box key in the room.

Breakfast was wonderful bonus. Staff was very helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Bed was a little hard. Bathtub was just big enough to accomodate me (<120 lbs) but not my husband (>200 lbs). Location great if you're up for walking or want to splurge on cab. Make sure to print directions to hotel (cab drivers and local police not even familiar with location). Overall very pleasant experience once we found it;) We would stay there again.

Hotel staff was friendly and the room was not big, but for European standards, it was bigger than other 3 star hotels in Rome. The room is not fancy, but it's clean and serves its purpose. We were surprised to see three twin size beds in the room, so we just pushed two of them together. All the hotels we stayed at in Italy used two twins to make one bed for couples. There is one computer in the lobby with high speed internet and the charge is 5 Euros per hour. They have newspapers available in lobby area to read if you know how to read Italian. We spent one evening reading and surfing in their lobby and the night desk clerk was friendly enough to help us open our bottle of wine and borrow some wine glasses from their bar. Out of the three hotels we stayed in Italy, this one offered the best breakfast. They had some warm scrambled eggs but most of the food was bread types with cheese and some fruit. They had a basket of oranges for guest to slice open and use the orange juice machine for fresh juice. Stairs do not have rails but instead a rope as a design element. It looks nice, but won't serve to be useful if you lose your footing on the stairs and need something solid to grab onto. They have a small elevator. Location is okay, but not great. It's about a 10 to 15 minute walk to metro. Difficult to drag too much luggage on the sidewalks in Rome as they have rough roads and curbs are high with no ramps to easily navigate luggage back onto sidewalk. However, the hotel has several places to eat nearby and grocery stores to save money on drinks. It cost about 29 Euros for a bottle of water in a grocery store and 1.50 to 2 Euros from a vendor on the street or the hotel mini bar. Our room faced the road, but it was not as busy as some of the other roads. Still, there is always a lot of activity in the city of Rome and so noise is always a factor in all the rooms we stayed at in Italy. Don't leave home without a map because it's tricky to find

A great find. Reasonably priced and with all the facilities needed for a good stay. Comfortable and sizeable room with a lovely bathroom. Spacious bar and reception and even a roof terrace. A plentiful breakfast buffett and plenty of local eateries. Not the most central of locations but only a 10 minute walk to the metro and lots of buses in the next street over so not a problem at all.

Hotel was very nice. It was a little further out of the hustle and bustle but that was nice. It was still within walking distance to everything and the metro was close too! Lots of restaurants nearby, hotel staff very friendly, breakfast was good, but most importantly the bed was extremely comfortable. They were making some repairs to the hotel and it concered me a little when we got there but you know the saying don't judge a book by it's cover! Would defintly stay there again!

the hotel had everything you could require (except a pool) for a tourist's stay in rome. the room was clean and spacious enough, with plenty of storage space and a safe.

My fiance, my sister and her boyfriend stayed at Hotel Fiume for two nights this past week, and I can heartily recommend this hotel for a stay in Roma. It is true that it is a bit far from the big sites although it is close to Villa Borghese. however, if you are into walking, you can make tracks to all the great places, perhaps with a ride on the metro. The fridge was well stocked, the bathroom loaded with supplies I did not expect to find (combs, toothpaste, nailfiles) along with the standard shampoos, shower caps and lotions. The concierge was extremely friendly and helpful!! They inquired as to our departure date and time, and offered to call a taxi for us to arrive at 730am. They asked all the appropriate questions and got us a taxi big enough for our luggage. The colazione is included in the price of the room, and it was lovely. Eggs, bacon, cold cuts, fabulous bread, jam, yogurt, granola, toast, juice and sweets. THe only thing that I didn't like about it was that they use a coffee dispenser for all the coffee, cappucino and steamed milk, and that was a bit of a downer. No problem tho, because there are tons of fabulous cafes around the corner. We went to a great restaurant called Al Chianti, which was quiet and had a very authentic feel to it. And there are many other restaurants and pizzerias within steps of the hotel. There are a few bars within a few blocks of the hotel as well, for a fun nite out. Also within two blocks is a supermarket, and a modern movie theater, if you are in the mood for cinema. For 5 euros you can buy an hour on the internet on the computer right in the lobby. Also there is a bar, and lots of info on what to do in Rome. I really liked this hotel! It's simple and nice.

net vernieuwd. Niet al te slecht gelegen (5 min. van station Termini) en op 300 meter van bus 60 die je rechtstreeks naar het Colosseum brengt.

Il est vrai que cet hôtel est un peu éloigné du centre néanmoins le quartier est très bien desservi par le métro qui se trouve à 10 mn à pied. L'hôtel est confortable, la déco y est récente et stylée. Le petit déjeuner est copieux, bon, à volonté, la salle du petit déjeuner est très agréable. Le personnel n'est pas toujours très souriant. Cependant je recommande vivement cet établissement.

Except from not having filled water in the small basin on the top floor terrace hotel Fiume is a great place to stay. The staff, the cleaning, assistance, everything works just fine. In particular the breakfast table has it all. We enjoyed staying there and should we get a chance to go back to Rome hotel Fiume will be the place of choice :) Br, Bjarke and Helle (Denmark)

Vældig hyggeligt hotel med god service. Et godt ophold på et hotel uden alt formegen støj fra Rom's tætte trafik. I behagelig gå afstand fra metro (ca 15 min) i hygeligt lokalt kvarter.

Very nice and recently refurbished. The room was very nice and looked like what you can see on the pictures on the hotels.com site though ours was quite a bit smaller as we went for a cheaper option. Breakfast was very good with lots of different warm and cold dishes to select from. Hotel is not located directly in the city centre with all the big city attraction it is about a couple of kilometres walk. But if you have never been to Rome this walk is quite a nice treat in itself. The area around the hotel is very nice and quiet with lots of small trattorias where you can have a meal at a decent price. A lot of locals also seem to come to these restaurants so it not only us tourists. Also forget everything you have seen on tv about Rome and Italians, people very very polite, a lot of people speaking english and the attractions are stunning. If I should complain about something it is the prices of some downtown restaurants and cafees. 40€ for two cups of coffe and two icecreams are a bit on the hefty side.

collocato in una zona strategica è un ottimo B & H.

Schönes Hotel, 10 Minuten vom Zentrum entfernt, jedoch sehr gut mit dem Bus zu erreichen. Hotel ist echt süss gemacht. Frühstück ist gut, Zimmer sind sauber. Schade nur das Baumängel, wiezB zu grosser Ausschnitt an einer Fliese für den Fön, dann nicht mehr ausgetauscht werden. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert, wenn der Standard gehalten wird.

Rigtig fint hotel 20 min (gå-ben) udenfor Rom centrum. Hotellet har en super god morgenmadsbuffet, og en hyggelig tagtaresse med en lille "soppe-pool". Kan helt klart anbefales til storbyferien i Rom!

Staying at Hotel Fiume B&H in Rome has been the best hotel experiences ever. Trust my words: the hotel was top quality. The only negative thing was that it was located approximately 2 km from the central station “Termini” (buses was running to Termini / downtown on the same road). The room standard was perfect: new renovated light rooms with a nice bed, furniture, flat screen cable TV and great bathrooms facilities. We had used a lot of time of getting to Rome from Denmark but when we entered the Rome at Fiume Hotel B&M in Rome we became really happy. The hotel was also very clean: every day when we came home, our bet was made and the room was nice and clean. The Staff was also very helpful with information about the city. Last of all is the breakfast: Delicious buffet with a big selection of any kind of food. If you thinking of going to Rome: This is the hotel where you should stay. Me and my girlfriend loved every second of it. We had a perfect stay. By the way: There is a Family owned Restaurant business just across the Stress wish serve the well-cooked spaghetti in the world: do yourself a favor: try it :-)

Hotellet ligger lidt i udkanten af centrum. Omkring 2 km fra stationen. Ved at den ligger i udkanten af centrum - gør at der er meget stille og roligt når man tænker på at man er i en hovedstad. Vi boede på 3. sal og kunne intet støj høre hverken fra gaden eller de andre værelser. Hotellet er helt nyrenoveret - der er store flotte fantastisk gode senge, helt nyt badeværelse - alt i alt nogle rigtige flotte værelser. Morgenmaden var rigtig god med friskpresset juice, æg, mange forskellige brød, youhurt, forskellige frugter, pålæg, ost, marmelade, nutella m. Omkring 200 m fra hotellet kan man tage bussen ind til stationen. Der går mange busser hele tiden og det er rigtig billigt. 1 euro for en billet og så kan du køre rundt i Rom i fem kvarter og skifte til andre buslinjer på samme billet. Vi nød også meget tagterrassen med solsengene når vi efter mange times vandring - lige skulle nyde solen og hvile benene. Jeg vil til en hver tid anbefale dette hotel.

Son seul défaut est d'être un peu excentré mais bien desservi par les bus avec un personnel à la réception bien renseigné et très disponible. Nombreux restaurants dans le quartier. La climatisation permet de ne pas avoir à ouvrir la fenêtre car la rue peut être assez bruyante. Hôtel en complète rénovation dans un style moderne très sympathique. Impeccable. Buffet pour le petit déjeuner copieux et très bon.
