"Will not return"
The 1st room I had, had an awful odor from cleaners and the TV did not work. They moved me to a 2nd room and the TV worked a little better but couldn't get many regular channels. The furnishings are very worn. I walked around a little with my white socks and they became badly soiled. The worst was I took pictures of bed bugs and showed them to the front […] desk upon my leaving. Response - "Oh, I am so sorry." I will never go back to this one. Les mer
"Older unit while was underwhelming"
Most of the TV channels were not viewable since the TV itself was not digital - so from channel 23 to 78 you got zippo. The pool was dimly lit making it look dingy - and wala - no one seemed to ever use it. "Pool and cream cheese"
We have stayed at a different Baymont in a different city and were thoroughly pleased. Thrilled in fact. Unfortunately our stay at this particular hotel was quite unpleasant. The pool was so cloudy with chemicals one couldnt' see the bottom. There were solid chemicals (looked like softener pellets) on the bottom. The hot tub frothed with bubbles to […] the point of overflow. I stayed in each less than five minutes and my skin was burning. Thankfully the showers are wonderful! Breakfast was also unsatisfactory in that the usually good coffee was not, and the cream cheese for my bagel was separated (along with all the others). We will not be statying at this particular Baymont again... .ever. Les mer

"King Jacuzzi suite."
The room needs to be updated and the ceiling needs to be fixed. the bed was not as comfortable as we thought it would have been and the pillows weren't soft they were big and hard. We filled up the jacuzzi tub and turned on the jets and all kinds of black mold came shooting out of them. we drained it and filled the tub again and still when we turned […] on the jets more black stuff came out so we ended up not using it for that night. the next night we filled it and turned the jets on more black stuff came out but not as much. the bathroom was small. We had a hard time going to sleep for the bar next door playing music. Les mer

"Nice, Clean, Quiet"
This motel had a very comfortable king bed in a spacious room. Wireless worked fine; we had a quiet, restful exerience. Will stay there again.

I found the room very clean, updated and comfortable. There was no exterior noise which is important to me. I live in Nebraska but do a lot of work in the Des Moines area. I will continue to use Baymont Inns and Suites for my overnight stays.

overall the hotel was very clean, rooms well equipped with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. quiet heater, beds very comfortable with great pillows. My complaints would be poor TV reception, although it had a nice flat screen it was like a antenna on the roof. Also the shower head is low due to a low ceiling in the bathroom. "Privacy Please"
The hotel was comfortable enough for the price, and the location was convenient. Housekeeping was rude and intrusive though. 9:30 am they didn't even knock, just barged into the room without so much as a "housekeeping". My girlfriend was nude, and I was still in bed. "My favorite in Des Moines"
I love this hotel. Very comfortable and clean and reasonably priced. I stayed there by myself and the female desk clerk noticed that I was a female traveling alone, so she moved my room to the front area of the hotel closer to the lobby. She also did not announce my room number out loud--a make or break deal for me when traveling alone.

Did not like how you had to walk from building to building outside, such as to get to pool we had to walk across courtyard in the rain and coming back it was really cold. also didnt like how staff dont wear name tags or uniforms so didnt know who worked at hotel or not.

A good hotel for the price, very friendly staff with moderate rooms. Overall not a bad place.
pleasant staff, comfortable room, good tv selection. HOWEVER, I was very disappointed that the internet connection never worked in my building. I mentioned the problem to the front desk 3 times, and the problem was never corrected, though I waas told they would get their IT people on it. MY room was not in the main buiding. I got a router signal, but […] it never connected to the internet. I stayed 3 nights. Thrmfirst morning the breakfast was fabulous with eggs, sausage potatoes, waffles, cereal, toast donuts, etc. The other two mornings eggs, sausage and potatoes were not offered. "Excellent Stay"
My husband and I stayed at this hotel in the Jacuzzi suite for our honeymoon. We had an absolutely fabulous time! The room was exactly like the one in the picture online, the checkin was fast and easy, and the breakfast buffet was convenient in location and hours. It was a perfect room for our romantic getaway!

Room key did not work multiple times over a two day stay. Literally the worst carpet of any hotel I have ever stayed. Felt like stepping in a swamp, sticky and damp. Next to a loud bar/restaurant. Music could be heard in my room with the windows closed. At 1am there was a lot of yelling and a fight broke out in the parking lot between the bar and […] the hotel, police were there quickly but it wasnt until after 2am that they left. Several homeless people hanging out in the area. "king bed" was a king mattress hanging over the side of a queen box frame. I go to Des Moine often for work, I don't recommend this hotel. Les mer
"The Baymont in NE Des Moines - a mixed review"
The good - the bed was super comfortable, the room was quiet and clean with an in-room fridge and microwave. The bad-exterior maintence looked sadly neglected, breakfast was mediocre at best and the in-room coffee was awful. The hotel is not in the nicest neighborhood but was only a few minutes away from restaurants, downtown, etc.

The Baymont Inn & Suites Des Moines was a underwhelming experience. Since, this was my first time staying in Des Moines and did not know the area, I shopped by price and brand. Since, there were no Holiday Inn Express options for the time of my stay, my choice was this and I will not stay here again. One of the amenities that I look for in a hotel stay […] is a fitness room. The fitness room had very old equipment and the weights were plastic. Since, more people are trying to stay healthy, hotels should describe what is part of the fitness room. If a hotel does not have a fitness room, they should consider partnering with a local fitness center and provide a hotel/fitness club discount. Les mer

"Baymont Inn and Suites - Des Moines IA"
Great location, right off I-80. A few other motels and businesses in the area. The room was clean and the service was great. My only issue was the upkeep wasn't great. You can tell it's an older motel. The bathroom door in our room wouldn't close all the way and the bathroom was so small that it was hard to close the door when you're in there.

we stayed one night at the baymont hotel and it was clean the room was a little small but very good value for the rate. they have an excellent breakfast. the only complaint we had it was noisy there were people running in halls all night the door doesn't lock to the outside.

"Clean but a little dated"
The room was OK. The bathroom in my single king room was a little rough but the whole room was clean. It was cheap and fine for the price.
"The Baymont was ok, but I won't be back"
Check-in was fine and the employees we came in contact with were very nice, but there were too many maintainence issues to bother with this hotel in the future. Our room was a jacuzzi suite, but I was disappointed on the size of the jacuzzi. It is a 3 corner whirlpool tub big enough for one person. I have stayed in other hotels with jacuzzi suite, […] and the whirlpool has always been full size. There was also something red on the sides of the unit. It looked like nail polish, and chipped off easily when I scratched at it. After a visit to the vending machine (which did not function properly), we noticed the lens for the peep-hole was missing; anyone could walk up and see into our room. We called to report the problem and was told maintainence would be back in the morning to fix the problem. The night clerk was very nice, but we should not have had to call back and be requested to be moved to a different room. In the morning, a housekeeper let us back into the room to retrieve a forgotten jacket. When told of the peep-hole lens, she replied it had been broken for a while. Why hasn't the peep-hole been fixed? Is privacy no longer included? Our second room wasn't much better. A lightbulb was burnt out in the end-table lamp, and the candles by the spa were conveniently pre-burnt for us. The faucet on the spa was very loose, so we didn't even bother trying use it. What if it broke? The room was odd-shaped due to being by the stairs, but the way it was arranged you could not see the tv from the bed or the spa; you had to sit on the couch. To just stay in a regular room while traveling, this hotel might be ok. The next time I stay in Des Moines, I won't be staying here. Les mer

"small rooms, but worth the price"
The king rooms were very small, but still worth the price. We needed to attend a few events in the area that weekend, and this location was a short drive from Indianola, Ankeny, and Jordan Creek Mall. The one negative was that breakfast only went until 9 a.m. When I'm on vacation, I'm barely awake by 9 a.m. -- let alone ready for breakfast!
