Hotel is on the boardwalk and we had an ocean view.....enjoyed our stay....
"Great location on the Rehoboth Boardwalk"
Loved this place! Everything was in walking distance from the hotel. We had an ocean view room with a door to open and look out to the ocean and boardwalk but no balcony, next time we would get ocean front and have a balcony. They moved us from our original room because we were unhappy with the condition of that part of the hotel. Some of it has yet […] to be remodeled and the suites (with living room and kitchenette) are very dated so we moved to a king room with oceanview. We did not have the living room but we did have a chair and ottoman, microwave, and fridge which was all we needed. I would recommend the king rooms but not the suites until they have been remodeled. "Great Location"
Loved the location and my room, 301!! Had a nice beach view, balcony to sit on, and a very clean, modern place with a comfortable bed and luscious pillows, modern TV and frig (no hair dryer). After a long 50 mile bike ride at the Fenwick-Bethany Beach Ocean to Bay held by the Chamber of Commerce, this was a welcome home to relax, visit the boardwalk, […] chill on the beach, and enjoy Rehoboth Beach. After staying at the Econo Lodge on Route 1 in Rehoboth on Friday, anything would be fantastic. But this hotel would be one I would come back to whenever I could. The pool and restaurants weren't open, which was ashame, since we have been having beautiful weather and they could make a buck. However, there is enough going on in Rehoboth Beach that you don't have to stay at the hotel. It just would have been nice! Grotto pizza (paradise something) by the hotel has the most friendly bartender, and she will take care of your wait until you check in. Les mer

"Very dated & shabby"
I feel that although the location was great, the Sands definitely needs an upgrade/update. The whole place is kind of dingy.There's no gym. The front desk told me that they have no rooms with queen beds -- who ever heard of that??? Plus I waited on hold for 20 + minutes to get that piece of information.

The hotel is in very poor shape; missing tiles in the bathroom, dirty carpets, no room service, poor front desk service. I would not recommend for a pleasant stay. Only thing I did enjoy was that it was on the board walk and across from the beach.
We checked in late so that was ok. However room was dirty and no working shower, so had to move so called special weekend suite but was down the hall from where we were big room but still dirty room and no working shower again, had to move back to other room. "Too cramped and dark"
While this hotel served our purpose, I won't return because the room was cramped with too much large furniture, too dark (they need to replace the very old wallpaper with some light colored paint), and it was way too noisy. The tub drain was very slow and the water pressure was non-existent. Thank goodness we only needed it for one day before leaving […] for the plush Hilton in OC MD. Les mer

"Beautiful view"
Great view of ocean ... oceanfront room. Clean and nicely decorated. Unbelievable low price.
"A bit scary and no customer service"
As someone we travels to Rehoboth frequently, I've stayed in many hotels here. This is by far the worst experience ever. The hotel is dirty and in need of repairs and the staff needs customer service lessons. They all sound tired and bored with their jobs.
"Oceanview doubles"
The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. However it's name was a little bit misleading. We couldn't see so much of the ocean. We asked for a possible change of room and even if it was a more expesive one, they changed us to one with the view to the ocean(without any extra charge). A slightly aging hotel whose main asset is location, location, location right on the beach and a leisurely stroll from excellent restaurants and the main drag in Rehoboth. The hotel seemed to be trying to save money by not replacing small items such as pens and shampoo. The pole to move the drapes was missing on the right side of the window. No one […] had changed the clocks to daylight savings time. The cleaning staff neglected to clean our room on the day before we left. Some of the staff could use some additional training in being welcoming. No one asked us how things were when we left, only noted that we had paid in advance. "Noise"
The heater was very noisy. I was awakened a few times during the night by it's loud humming.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel for two nights, and everything was fantastic. The room was clean, neat, and the people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the internet. For some reason, neither my boyfriend nor I could access it, even with the password provided. Yes, the location is great, but the hotel is falling apart!! "Shabby service in the off-season"
Unfortunately, there was very little water pressure in the shower and the shower head looked like it badly needed to be cleaned (red bacteria). Mentioned this to the staff after first night, but nothing seemed to be done about it. At check-out, I mentioned the problem again. I was told that manager would call me, but never heard from him. "Getaway"
Hotel was older but nice. Front desk more than helpful with any questions and advise. Only con was there was not any information on the hotel and local area in the room. We had to get the dining information from the front desk.
Was promised one king bed and one double bed. The double bed was a pull out couch that had no support at all. Very disappointed.
"Prepare to lose sleep."
The hotel was nice-looking enough as my wife and I have simple tastes. However, we had the following major issues: the walls were so thin we could clearly hear everything our neighbors said, as well as the noise caused when they opened and closed dresser drawers; the bathroom smelled like mildew; the room never got as warm as we wanted it (72 degrees […] isn't too much to ask, is it?) and every time the heater turned on and off it made a loud cracking noise. "Atlantic Sands, Rehoboth in winter"
For an amazingly low rate, I got an ocean-front room with 2 porches. Sunrise in the AM was gorgeous. The town still had plenty of good restaurants open in winter. Outlets on highway going full blast. A great experience.

I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. The only thing I was sort of "unhappy" about is that continental breakfast wasn't included, but I knew that going into the stay... Other than that, and the fact that the downstairs coffee shop isn't open year-round, I was very happy with my stay. "Stay at The Sands"
My husband and I just spent the weekend at the Atlantic Sands. Our room was bright and cheery, clean and much bigger than we expected. We had a great stay and the staff was wonderful. We will be back again very soon.

The room offered a view of the ocean, was clean, sevice was good. It is a little older but well maintained.

Awesome location and price for off-season on the Boardwalk in Rehoboth. We had a light burned out in the bathroom and our hairdryer was missing but the staff quickly responded and when we returned a short time later the problems were fixed.

"Nice hotel right on the boardwalk in Rehoboth"
My boyfriend and I stayed here for New Years Eve. We wound up getting a suite with two double beds, pullout couch and two bathrooms for just the two of us, it must have been the only room left for the night. The room had a beautiful side view of the ocean and boardwalk. The TV remote was MIA, we called and they brought us one. My only issues are that […] the walls and ceilings are not very sound-proof. We could hear the person upstairs walking around. And there was a bottle of half drank booze in the freezer of the refridgerator. Not a big deal for us, but it might be for others. Les mer

"Worn out and need of updating"
This hotel had lots of really great reviews, so we decided to book it. Well that was our first mistake. Check-in was good, then we got on the elevator...scary, and can't believe it passed inspection. Then we walked into the room, great view of the ocean, but the carpets were worn out and needed to be updated, one of the lights in the bathroom was out, […] and the bed linens needed to be replaced old and worn out. Now it's time to go to sleep we got into the bed and immediately went to the center...WHAT! A horrible nights sleep, don't they believe in replacing the mattress? I would NEVER recommend this hotel nor will I ever go back. Les mer
"Conference noise"
Stayed in hotel over weekend of Dec10-12. Hotel had huge party going on in conference center on 3rd floor. It was extremely noisy and after midnight the smokers went down to the pool area and talked very loudly. Did not get much sleep. Location of hotel is great and our room had great view on the ocean.

Perfect location. Ask for a room in the new section. Bigger rooms, better view, newer. Even so, rooms needed a paint touch up, and the carpet could stand a shampooing.

My wife and I booked this hotel because I ran the Rehoboth Beach Marathon. It was the perfect place to stay for location....the marathon start was just outside the hotel. We had a wonderful ocean view and again the location was ideal....a short walk to shops and restaurants. We stayed here for the Rehoboth Marathon in 12/2011. The facility is older, and probably in need of an update, but the room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the location perfect. One block off the boardwalk, and on the beach, you can't get any better!

"Atlantic Sands, Rehoboth Beach"
My wife and I stayed for one night - everything was as good as we hoped. We enjoyed breakfast buffet in the morning while looking out at the boardwalk - very nice. I only wish I had specified Ocean front instead of just ocean view - we had a side room with a balcony but it was still nice.

Location was great, on the boardwalk,close to shopping and retaurants,..but the interior looked worn, shabby and not well maintained..service left a lot to be desired, not very prompt in addressing issues, eg, phone had no dial tone, took 2 days to fix, never made the beds or brought new towels until we had to ask numerous times. The hotel was fine. My wife and I were there for one night because we were attending the funeral of a friend's father. We didn't spend much time in our room or at the hotel itself. It was offseason in Rehobeth Beach and not very many rooms were occupied in the hotel. With it's location right on the boardwalk, I'm sure it is great for a summer visit.
