New Steine - Guest House - Brighton

The stay was very good and the staff was very kind and vary polite I can not fault this hotel at all

This hotel is well located. It's a typical small European room but well decorated and comfortable. We had a nice view as well. Downside was the shower. Virtually no pressure and barely hot . Went in and out between cold and warm. No elevator but they brought our bags up.

All staff very friendly, Close to all areas of intrest. Feel I made an excellent choice of accomadation and would reccomend it to other travellers to Brighton. keep up the good work. Paul and family

Excellent place, excellent service. Parking is a major problem though. Enquire first if you have a car.

The New Steine Hotel is a great little boutique hotel a mere few blocks from the Brighton Pier. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The complimentary english breakfast was nice and well prepared. Fantastic place. Loved it! Amazing food. Lovely staff. Only complaint was that the radiator in the bathroom didn't have a thermostat so I couldn't turn it down and it was very close to knees when sitting on loo!

The rooms themselves were OK, a little dated but clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a lot of noise from the landing as people came and went which meant a disturbed nights sleep. We went to Brighton for our wedding anniversary; something different to do. I saw the hotel on the website and it was the pictures displayed that led me to book the New Steine hotel. I was pleasantly surprised when we were given the room I adored on the site, The room was very comfortable, clean and tidy; the staff were friendly and helpful. The staff were lovely and extremely hlepful, were happy to help us with everything we asked for. Lovely room, modern and clean and comfortable, well decorated. The location is perfect for exploring the city.

New Steine is a nice little hotel. It's a fair walk from the train station if you have heavy bags, but our room had a sea view, which made up for the hike. It overlooks a park. Breakfast was good, but it's the same staff serving as checking people out, so there can be a bit of a wait for the food. Our only complaint was that there wasn't a fan in the […] room and the seagulls get up too early to leave the window open. It's s short stroll to the prom, and to the shops. Les mer

I booked this hotel for me and my girlfriend, I looked at many many hotels. I decided to go with this place based on the reviews and services. Wifi was a must for me to do my work at it was listed as wifi in all rooms, so went for it, even though it was at the higher end of my budget When we arrived, we were given a triple room that had no shower! […] I immediately demanded a different room and the only room he offered was a very small double which had the smallest bathroom I have ever seen, but it did have a shower, so we stayed there. Once settled, I decided to send some emails but was disapointed by the fact the wifi did not reach my room! I asked reception for which they replied they "reset" the internet, but that did nothing. The only option was to sit in the restaurant, but with diners trying to enjoy their dinner, it was far from convinient. The hotel is very noisey, doors make a very loud bang everytime they are used, and there are a lot of doors in this "hotel" Staff speak very poor english, all in all making my stay mediocre, and I regret not going with the cheapest option if this is the service I get from paying over the odds. My girlfriend and I stayed in the de luxe sea view room for one night. The room has a contemporary design and is very comfortable indeed. The staff are wonderfully helpful and are more than willing to advise us on tourist attractions and restaurants. The breakfast is fantastic; it includes a cold salad buffet, unlimited hot drinks and juice and a full […] English/ vegetarian/ pancake / French style breakfast. Plus there are a few supermarkets near by and it's only about 15 minutes walk to the city centre. However, much as the name of the room may suggest, there is NO DIRECT SEA VIEW because the hotel is not right next to the seaside. Instead we had to look out of the window and turned our heads to the right in order to see the sea view. On the whole it's an enjoyable experience to spend a night here. Les mer

I booked this guest house following the reviews i had already read up on, and I was not at all dissapointed. I had taken my partner down for a romantic weekend away and it was the most perfect place we could have stayed. The staff were extremely helpful and polite; bringing us an ice bucket, glasses and a bottle stop for the champagne we had bought […] and with free wifi and tv the room was lovely. The bed was comfy and clean. The breakfast served was cooked to order and was absolutley delicious. Help was on hand 24hrs a day. I would definetly be visiting again. Les mer

Very professional and friendly. Ideal place to stay

When i booked this hotel i expected a chic little modern hotel but the reality was quite different. The staff were pleasant enough but customer service was a little lax. The hotel looked tired and my attic room was very very small and hot! It would not have been suitable for a couple. The furniture was tired the phone in the room did not work. Breakfast […] options were not explained to me. The floorboards creaked and the carpet looked very old. I booked the hotel as it was suppossed to be in the area of the theatre which it wasnt it was at least a 10-15 min walk. Les mer

Ein sehr nettes Hotel mit nettem jungen Personal - das einzige Manko für mich war, dass es nicht ganz ruhig war und ich neben etwas Strassenlärm sehr deutlich meine Zimmernachbarn nachts hören konnte. Die Zimmer sind sehr nett und witzig eingerichtet und sauber, aber man merkt, dass es ein altes Gebäude, zwar mit Charme, aber auch mit knarrenden Treppen […] und Holztüren ist. Chambre très confortable, meublé avec goût, climatisée. Essayez les différentes formules de petit déjeuner. Le personnel est très sympathique et de bon conseil. Excellent service. A RECOMMANDER !!!

Hotellet er et smalt, højt townhouse beliggende i en sidegade til Marine Parade (gaden langs stranden). Den smalle trappe gør det lidt besværligt med en stor, tung kuffert, men den skulle heldigvis kun med op og ned ad trapperne en gang. 2 minutters gang fra hotellet ligger stranden, 5 minutter væk ligger Brighton Pier, og 10 minutter væk ligger centrum. Værelset […] havde en fin størrelse, det var næsten to-delt med en dobbeltseng, kommode og fjernsyn i den ene ende, og sofaseng, skrivebord og stol i den anden ende. Badeværelset var småt, men det indeholdte det, man skal bruge: WC, brusekabine, håndvask og spejl, og det hele var pænt rent. Hotellet har ikke egen parkering, men det er muligt at parkere i både egen og de omkringliggende gader. Eneste minus var mågerne, som vækkede os et par gange i løbet af natten, så hvis man sover let, skal man nok bo lidt længere oppe i byen, mens sommervarmen gør det umuligt at sove for lukkede vinduer. Mysigt och trevligt familjehotell perfekt beläget i Brighton. Nära till stranden, Piren och City! Vi hade två mycket fräscha dubbelrum med sjöutsikt! Familjär och trevlig stämning när man checkar in. Traditionell Engelsk frukost som smakade utmärkt! Hit kommer vi att återvända!

Clean accommodation with attentive, smiling staff. Comfortable bed with crisp bedding and plush towels. Robe and luxury toiletries a nice touch. Paint finishing and the decor could have been done better and doors need a little tweaking so they don't slam and wake people up in the middle of the night.
