"nice place, great deal"
The staff at the Eugenia were great. Many spoke English and Spanish. All were very friendly and extremely helpful. Our breakfast was included in the price and consisted of eggs, toast, juice, coffee. Frankly, I was a little amazed by the staff at Eugenia Hotel in Quito. They went above and beyond in absolutely every way. I actually stayed there two different nights as a stopover to and from Galapagos... The staff is not just friendly, they are accommodating for just about any request, to the point that I ended up asking myself "How lucky was I […] to find this place??" I should also add that I ate in their in-house restaurant on my final leg, and their Chilean Sea Bass was outstanding, for just $7.80 USD. The chef even came out and asked me how I wanted my potatoes... I asked if a baked potato was possible (I HATE french fries; papas can be an acceptable alternate if cooked correctly, but nothing beats a fresh baked potato)... and indeed when the meal was served, it was a fresh baked potato! The sea bass wasn't grilled as advertised, but still delicious -- NOT overcooked! That is a common mistake in restaurants, but at the Eugenia, the fish is prepared with great care to not be overcooked, and you don't even have to ask specifically "please don't overcook the fish!" The chef knows how to cook to perfection! The front desk speaks English; ask for a cab and you have it within minutes. I do however encourage all readers to just spend a few hours learning basic Spanish. It's not that hard and helps you in the end... I normally HATE hotels in Europe as the rooms are generally so small that if you open the door, the door hits the bed. Not so at Eugenia. I had a very decent sized room, great en-suite bathroom, very comfortable bed, etc. I was more than pleased for the first time in probably two decades with the room quality and spaciousness (for a European hotel room.) There is a free breakfast in the morning that is absolutely wonderful. All kinds of fresh fruit and fresh juices (when was the last time you had fresh watermelon juice??), fresh breads, fresh scrambled eggs and hot papas... Service is EXCELLENT at meals. The food was not very good. If it had been better we would have liked to have used the restaurant, as we were tired & did not feel like going out I wanted a Gin & Tonic after a long journey there was a bar but it was never open

Stayed another two nights before heading home, after visiting Cuenca. Decent breakfast, friendly helpful staff and comfortable room. Good shower and hot water.

"Overnight stay on the Way to Cuenca"
My husband and I had our overnight stay at Hotel Eugenia on our way to Cuenca. Our flight from Atlanta arriveD in Quito late, so we had to stay in Quito. We were told that the shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel would be $6, but it wound up being $10. It was dark at the hotel and we were tired when we got there, so we didn't notice too much about […] the hotel wheN we got there, but in the morning, we found the hotel to be charmiing! We had a good breakfast of fruit, eggs, bread juice and coffee. The staff was very friendly. A taxi was called for us, and we were taken promptly back to the airport. Personnel at Hotel Eugenia was very attentive to my needs. Food at the restaurant was excellent and my room was comfortable and hotel was overall quiet. I would definately recommend it to anyone.
The Eugenia Hotel is somewhat modest in the accomodations. I beleive a bit overpriced lodging fees for the size of the room and the amenities. The staff is courteous and friendly. The breakfast is suitable. It is an acceptable hotel in an emergency but certainly not conducive for a business traveler who requires a desk and a place to use as an office […] while conducting business in Ecuador. The Hotel was clean, the staff is friendly. The sorrounding areas are noisy and there is no air conditioned to assist with the noise insulation. Internet was only available in one area on a house computer and was free.

Hotel em estilo vitoriano e com muitos detalhes artísticos, inclusive vitrais e luz natural. Ordem e limpeza geral são muito bons, os quartos são um pouco pequenos e sem frigobar, mas muito limpos. Os membros da equipe são educadíssimos e tem ineresse sincero pelo hóspede, o que dá disposição de voltar a se hospedar lá.

La recepcionista que […] me atendió. cuando le pregunté Cuanto mas o menos cuesta una carrera de taxi desde aqui hasta el teleferico? tuvo la brillante respuesta: Los taxis tienen un aparatito que se llama taximetro y le dice cuanto cuesta!! por Dios !!!! que respuesta tan absurda, soy ecuatoriana y por supuesto que se lo que es un taximetro!!! lo lógico es que me ubiese dado un estimado, ya que ella es Quiteña y por ende sabe mejor las distancias. Otra cosa, si los viajeros deben tomar un avión muy temprano en la mañana, no entiendo como el desayuno lo sirvan a partir de las 7, y lo más triste es que el salonero llega tarde y uno simplemente por no perder el avión no puede desayunar, habiendo pagado por ese desayuno, simplemente por la impuntualidad y falta de profesionalismo de estas personas. Es una verguenza que cobren tanto y el servicio deja muchisimo que desear. No lo recomiendo a nadie por nada del mundo hay muchos que son mejores a mejor precio. Les mer
El hotel es una belleza señorial. Las personas que atieneden rebozan amabilidad y buen trato, lo que se agradece sobre todo en estadías breves como la mía. Sólo sugeriría revisar la iluminación en los pasillos interiores e incorporar más alternativas saladas al desayuno. Lo demás, ¡Impecable!

La palabra que mejor define no solo a este hotel sino a todo el pueblo ecuatoriano es AMABILIDAD y eso se traslada a todo, entonces es muy dificil no disfrutar de una estadia o encontrar detalles criticos en un hotel o donde sea. El hotel cuenta con todo lo prometido en su pagina, tiene una ubicación excelente para el turista, da asesoramiento acertado […] para los desplazamientos en Quito y las instalaciones ofrecen lo necesario para estar muy comodos. En nuestro caso y por un tema de horario de vuelos, tuvieron la atencion de prolongar nuestro horario de salida sin ningun costo adicional, cosa no muy frecuente. "Cold but nice"
The hotel was nice and the service very good, however the room was cold and it was almost impossible to warm up. The restaurant was very convenient considering how rainy Quito is. Breakfast was good but it took a long time since it wasn't a buffe. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
