Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront - Suffolk

The room is right on the water. I stayed on a Wednesday and there was a farmers market right across the street. I only stayed 1 night. My only complaint is that the room felt damp. I am not sure if that is normal due to the area but it just made me a bit uncomfortable.

Great hotel with great amenities. I was surprised the hotel had a gym, laundry services and a pool. I highly recommend this hotel especially given the surrounding area.

Very nice hotel. Excellent breakfast in the dining room. Location very convenient. Staff pleasant. Kids loved the pool. Although hot utb was out of service.

Me my wife and our 18 month old son stayed here while we were in Suffolk attending a wedding. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean which is by far the most important factor when i am traveling with my family. The Hotel restaurant and bar was also very convenient.

The hotel was an overall pleasant experience. The view from the back facing the river was just lovely. I also enjoyed the friendly staff at the restaurant as well. This hotel is a great addition to the Suffolk area.

The hotel on the outside is very nice. Unfortunately, we had ants in our bathroom. Not a good selection of snacks also. We did have a good buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant.

Everything was great at this location. We only stayed ine night and just had a little problem getting the room temperature regulated. Staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. Hotel very clean. Go, Stay, Enjoy!!

I stayed on the first floor across from the pool. The air was incredibly caustic and drying to my throat, making it impossible to sleep at night. It could have been the chlorine in the air or the lack of humidity from the central heat. Either way, I'll never stay by the pool again and will bring a humidifier in the winter.

when we arrived at the desk the man was very nice,i could not beleave how rude the people were in the dining area. there was a oder in the hall, we were told this is not a party hotel it was only 2 of us but others people were in the hall very loud at 1:30am never heard anyone tell them to quiet the noise down

The rear of the hotel (facing the river) is a huge porch with rocking chairs. A great place to sit and read in the evening.

This hotel is a beautiful hotel. The staff was courteous but at times was understaffed for the amount of guests. For the 4 day stay we had to ask for extra towels each day several times before we recevied them and one room had a bad coffee maker that they replaced after a second request on the second day. The hospitality staff did not clean the bathrooms […] and we ran out of toilet tissue, or had wet dirty towels on the floor each day. The overall rating for us was excellent with just a few minor annoyances that were resolved eventually. We will definitely stay at this hotel again. Les mer

We booked our room in advance so that we would be able to settle in quickly after arriving from a long drive. The 1st room we were placed in was directly next to the lobby and was very loud. We requested a change. The 2nd room was on the 5th floor, better, but it was a smoking room (and we had specifically requested non smoking), and then there were […] the remains of a dead cockroach, yuck! The 3rd room hadn't even been cleaned when we walked in. We ended up having to wait almost 2 hours for that room to be cleaned as there were no other rooms available. Good thing we had a friend also staying there or we would have been stuck in the lobby for 2 hours with all our luggage, exhausted from our trip. We finally got into our room at 1am. Made for a long day's travel. Unfortunately the pool was in poor shape as well. It was only 4'6" and we couldn't even see the bottom, also yuck! The staff was friendly enough through the process of getting our room taken care of, but we were offered no compensation for the inconvenience of getting our room. We had had high expectations of a Hilton, but were sorely disappointed. We will be hesitant to book with this chain again. Les mer

Everything about this hotel was top notch, from the services all the way down to the cleanliness of the grounds! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to or through Suffolk VA. Spend the extra money because it is more than worth it for the quality of the rooms and the friendly staff!! This is a beautiful hotel that I got a realy great deal on! The rooms were very nice but one of the beds in our room was broken. they were nice and moved us to another room, eventhough this room was to be a non-smoking room the second we stepped in it smeeled as though someone had been chain smoking. We told the main desk and we got moved yet again. […] This next room was hot and the a/c took forever to work, but by then it was so late we just wanted to go to bed. The next day the a/c finally worked and everything was fine after that. Its an excellent place to stay but be aware that the City Parks and Rec. does activities on the river behind the hotel every Friday night during the summer. They also use space in the hotel. The should tell visitors outright about breafast plans at the hotel. Also, if they are offerign coffee they should tell visitors. I beleive there was manager's evening drinks. while I could not have been there I should havr been informed. The location, the hotel amenities are wnderful plu the cost.

The check in was a little bumpy, but staff worked to make it as smooth as possible. The hotel is very lovely, clean and comfortable. The room was large, and the bed was absolutely marvelous to sleep in. Best sleep I have had in a long time. I chose this hotel because it is close to Lake Drummond and Merchant's Millpond where I like to kayak. The price is a little steep for the area but is cheap compared to Hiltons in other places. The service is excellent - I only stayed two nights but the staff seemed to know who I am without me introducing myself. The restaurant is excellent, and downtown […] Suffolk is in walking distance and there are other good restaurants there. The decor is good and the furnishings are in decent shape - a little tattered here and there but only noticeable if you look closely. The free WiFi is easy to access unlike many other hotels in which I've stayed where I spent more time on the phone with tech support than actually using the internet. Les mer

It was a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean, except for a couple of stains on the rug. The food at the hotel was good. The portions were more than adequate.
