Vi bodde i en leilighet ca 1 km fra hotellet. Leiligheten var ren og innbydende. Når vi henvendte oss til hotellet pga små utfordringer, stilte de i leiligheten med en gang.

3 generasjoner - 18 til 74 år var spente på hvordan leiligheten var. Vi ringte dagen før vi kom grunnet sen ankomst, og fikk veldig god respons. Full informasjon om hvordan vi kom fra flyplass til hotellet informasjon vedrørende prisene vi kunne forvente (drosje). Ved ankomst ble vi hjulpet med bagasjen de 4 kvartalene til leiligheten og vist fasilitetene […] der. Delig dusj!! Leiligheten lå like over en bar, men det merket vi kun i helgen. Vis a vis lå en politistasjon som lå litt tilbaketrukket, så det var ingen gjenboere. Når vi trengte internett fikk vi låne med oss en IPAD og lader fra hotellet, slik at vi kom på nett. Det var ingen problem de ikke løste:). I området ligger det mange restauranter, men man føler ikke at det er er turistifisert område. Et vakkert kloster i nærheten er verdt et besøk. Nydelig stemning. Ved å gi beskjed i resepsjonen dagen før - sto de sto i kø om morgenen på Colosseum, og billettene kunne hentes på hotellet etter kl 10. Da gikk vi forbi hele køen. Billettene ble betalt kontakt i resepsjonen ved utsjekking. Denne gangen var 5 stjernes hotell en del av opplevelsen, så prisen var ikke viktig. Restauranten i øverste etasje var en spesiell opplevelse den også. Alle som jobbet der viste 100% service samt varme/professionalitet. Direkte utsikt til Colosseum var et vakkert syn. En eksklusiv restaurant, som gav oss en opplevelse vi er glade vi fikk med oss. Totalt et fint sted å være. Les mer

Kunne ikke vært mer fornøyd! Utrolig koselig bemanning som husker hvem vi er og kommer oss i forkjøp med alle tenkelige spørsmål. De er også utrolig flinke til å anbefale resturanter :) Sjarmerende, personlig og varmt hotell! Og utsikten fra frokostbordet er uslåelig. Kommer aldri til å bo på et annet hotell i Roma noen gang igjen.

Hotel Gladiatori Palazzo Manfredi ligger i hjerte av Roma, med umiddelbar nærhet til Coloseum. Fra takterrassen, blant annet, har man utsikt over dette mesterverket. Betjeningen er veldig hyggelig, og får deg til å føle deg som en av verdens mest viktige personer. I leiligheten som tilhørte hotellet var det litt smårusk som ikke hører hjemme på et 5-stjerners […] hotell, blant annet en lekk dusj, aircondition som ikke er ved sine fulle fem og en svai sovesofa. Ellers var leiligheten stor og fin, med perfekt beliggenhet til de aller fleste severdighetene i Roma. Alt i alt var oppholdet på Hotel Gladiatori Palazzo Manfredi en fin opplevelse, både når det kom til standard og service. Les mer

We booked the apartment which is part of the hotel but not in the hotel.....this was well below the 5 star standard. I would say more like 3 star...v disappointing indeed. We complained and were moved to the hotel where the standard was as expected. People were great; restaurant on roof was overly pretentious without merit. Tried to push expensive items (wine) rather than listen to clients. Less pomp and following elaborate rituals and more focus on clients. Took forever to get wine opened and poured for example.

My wife and I stayed for three nights and found the hotel amazing. The staff were all wonderful, helpfull, and friendly. The room facing the colossium had the most spectacular view which gets even better when you go up to the restaurant. This dining experience was beyond belief. The food was out of this world. The start upon arrival was not pleasant ! But the front desk manager fixed the situation promptly and provided a five star service . The hotel location is amazing and se cond to known! Having breakfast at the resturant located on the roof overlooking the collossium is a unique and one of a kind experience

We booked the loft but got moved to a self-contained flat just around the corner. It was great and we could really experience living like Italians rather than living in a hotel. Staff were extremely helpful. Flat was spacious and there was loads of cupboard space. It had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, cups, plates cutlery etc and free wi-fi. The "apartment suite" as they called it was a joke. We couldn't just sit outside as they had no benches or anything. I was supposed to have 2 rooms one with a king bed and one with a double. Instead we had 1 room with a double bed in it and a pull out couch for the kids right when you walk into the room. Also this hotel does not like to restock the […] necessities such as toilet paper! We had to go out and buy our own. The room did have a stove which we thought due to the expensiveness of restaurants in Rome would be good however the room had no pots or pans to cook with so the stove top was never used. It was not at all a good place to say,it says that it overlooks the coloseum but only the hotel does, we couldn't even see it at the place we stayed in. Won't go back there again. Les mer

Lovely hotel - clean and good standard. Even though its location is superb being right opposite the collosseum, it is in quite a quiet area which for us was great but may not suit everyone. The only disappointment about this hotel, which is why i havent given it full marks, is the cost of items in the restaurant. Not only that, but the waitress didnt speak any english and gave us the most expensive coffee on the menu and then didnt understand when i tried explaining that she had given me the wrong one! Greatest hotel of our Germany/Italy trip. Was fearful of Rome's reputation but the service was as I would expect for a 5 Star hotel. Definitely made our stay in Rome. I checked in after a long and pleasant drive from Northern Tuscany. The lobby was small and uninviting and so were the help. The gentleman at the desk was unfriendly and grouchy. I love Italy and have always found the people warm and hospitable, not at this hotel. I asked for two keys as two people were registered and the front desk person looked at […] me as though I were asking for a ride to Mars! Then they both disappeared (the front desk person and the bell man) to a back office and came back and told me they only had one key. At this point I was too tired and it was not even worth arguing with anyone. We got back into the car and drove to the room and had to call to have the bellman come and help us, even though I was told that there would be a person there to help. There was no one checking in so I had no idea what his problem was. The room was clean but had no full length mirror and the floors were badly scratched. Cute little boutique hotel. Most of the nearby cafes/restaurant were too touristy for my tastes (although should've expected that, being so extremely close to the Colosseum). This hotel was fantastic. The staff were very warm and friendly and really made you feel welcomed. The restaurant is expensive, this is a 5 star hotel though. We did not eat in the evenings, but did have lunch when we arrived which we really enjoyed especially when you can look over to the Coliseum. We had great expectations of this hotel after reading reviews and seeing some photos online. Palazzo Manfredi exceed those high expectations. The room was beautiful and immaculately maintained. My partner wanted to take the fabulous shower room home with us. Its position, right opposite the Colosseum, within easy walking distance access of the city […] centre and the Centro Storico, could not be better. It snowed heavily, and unusually, while we there were and so we used the splendid restaurant on the roof more than we might have otherwise but this was an easy decision as the food was of amazing quality. The service was also of the highest standard, the wine waiter in particular being helpful and discerning. And then there's that fabulous view of the Colosseum, in the sunshine as you eat breakfast or illuminated in the darkness as you dine in the evening. Being a geeky couple, we were also relieved to discover that wifi was complimentary and effective throughout. Had we not taken our laptops, they would have supplied an iPad for our use. Fantastic apartment, fantastic location. We stayed in the annexe apartment with our two young boys which gave them freedom to move around while we were relaxing and close to the main sites, so there wasn't a lot of walking between sites.

Boutique, tastefully designed hotel. Rooms on a main, busy road, so a bit noisy. Excellent stuff, well trained, polite and helpful. It didn't receive an all out superb because of their overpriced dinner at an average quality in Aroma restaurant (lovely view) and 8Euros for a coffee, or tea.

The hotel staff was great, anything I asked for they jumped at the opportunity to help and or assist. The language barrier was not a issue since they seem to have at least one staff member that spoke multiple languages and went above and beyond to accomodate.

We stayed at the Via dei Serpenti location which is suitable for families with children. Whilst the location itself is extremely central it's housed in the rather frayed residential building which (as could be expected) does not have an elevator and logging suitcases at four flights is quite an excercise (one might say much needed in light of all the […] excellent restaurants in the area..) All in all, we had a pleasant stay but the description on the property was somewhat "exagerated" althought Rome - being "the eternal city" - amply compensated for all the relatively minor shortcomings of the hotel... The Palazzo Manfredi is a superb hotel, perfect for families traveling with children. We stayed with our two kids , ages 6 and 8, and needed a room large enough to accomodate 4 people. The hotel maintains a suite (really a full-sized apartment) around the corner from the main hotel approximately 3-5 minutes walking distance. The room was fantastic: […] large, spacious and equipped with a washing machine/dryer, full kitchen, pots and pans, refrigerator and freezer and full cutlery and plates, bowls, etc. It was practically like being at home. The flat was large and well kept, with only some minor detractions (for example, the handle of the washing machine was broken, rendering it inoperative). But to complain about this would be silly, as we were not expecting anything close to the level of amenities that were actually provided. The hotel is also very well located, just a few blocks from a metro stop, literally right across the street from the Colosseum and a short walk from the Roman forum and Capitoline Hill. As nice as the room and hotel location are, what was best for us about this hotel were the remarkable staff. The concierge and receptionist were amazing: kind, helpful and extremely attentive. They helped arrange tours, booked restaurant reservations, and even spent the better part of a day trying to arrange a trip for us to Pompeii, including hiring a tour guide, finding transportation to and from the site and providing various alternatives at a range of prices. Apart from being located right beside the colosseum,what makes this a great hotel is the service. They really go the extra mile. However, with no tea and coffee in the room and a 10 euro room service charge, it cost us 26 euros to have two coffees in our room. Maybe a little excesive.

My husband and I spent one night in Rome after a Mediterranean cruise and chose Palazzo Manfredi due to the location. The hotel was quaint and elegant. The staff bent over backwards to make the stay exceptional. The hotel is located literally across the street from the Colosseum. We chose a slightly more expensive room to have a view of the Colosseum […] from our room. It was magnificent. The hotel is a bit pricey but worth it for the short stay. There is a lovely restaurant on the roof with spectacular views and a lovely menu but again, expensive. We chose instead to take a cab to the shopping district, where we walked to view sites and chose an outdoor cafe/restaurant near the Trevi fountain for dinner. Was extremely satisfied with this hotel... location was very convenient, within walking distance to Colosseum and Campodoglio as well as hop on/off tour bus to major attractions if you didn't want to walk... Staff was wonderful, very helpful and accomodating... spoke excellent English. Upon arrival, we were offered free drink on the roof-top terrace […] with magnificent view overlooking the Colosseum and free plate of goodies were delivered to our room. Room was very spacious for European standards and very clean... A/C worked perfectly, water pressure very good... I wish I had time to go into great detail but this hotel is far from a 5 star and I can't give it 4 either. Long story short, they tried to pull a few tricks over us by placing us in rooms that were very suspect including offering us an off-site "apartment" which was large but had multiple issues. What an exceptional location for my stay in Roma. The day and evening view of the coliseum was spectacular! The staff was very friendly. I found the close proximity to the Metro to be convent to getting to the rest of Rome. My room was on the street side and I found it to be quite. I felt very safe in my surroundings. I originally booked the marco aurelio loft apartment at the hotel. On first viewing I thought it was ok but not what I was looking for. I had planned this trip for months as a surprise for my girlfriend as it was her birthday and I planned to propose to her during our stay in Rome. The apartments didn't have a romantic feel. I did not complain but spoke […] to the hotel receptionist who offered me a prestige room in the hotel itself for no extra cost. This room was lovely and the feel of a boutique hotel as advertised. We were extremely happy and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is 200 metres opposite the magnificent colliseum and in the most ancient part of Rome. on the night of my girlfriends birthday I reserved a table at the wonderful aroma restaurant located on the roof of the hotel. I had emailed the manager of the hotel before we arrived and informed him about my plans to propose. He took the time to make suggestions and arranged for a birthday cake to be made and for some red roses to arrive. I gave him the ring and he disguised the ring on a separate plate which he explained to my now fiancee that accompaning the ring was a special chocolate sauce. I then did the rest and she said yes :-). Overall I cannot recommend this hotel enough. And please visit the aroma restaurant. It's costly but soooo worth it with a wonderful view of the colliseum.
